After a fantastic breakfast a couple of months ago, thought I'd pop in for a couple of pints and some food. Had the margarita pizza and a pint of John Smith's. both reasonably priced and were well worth having. would recommend to anyone in Sunderland area. shout out to Jack, Keri and Becks the chef who smashed it out the park with friendly service! Me and the girls came here on Friday for a catch up, we had the small plates 3 each and wow we ended up taking them home so much food for the price. And drinks are very well priced too, i would highly recommend this place for social gatherings works do's and so on. will most definitely be returning in the future and the staff were very helpful keep up the good work. 👌 🙂

Very friendly staff, patrons are also very chill. The food was great despite them being busy, my steak was perfectly cooked and plenty filling. Hadn't planned on having food at first but saw some of the plates and decided we needed to give it a try. Deffo coming again!

Came on Sunday prior to seeing pink . Decidimos darle una oportunidad para Yates de té. Como el juego de fútbol acababa de terminar el pub estaba muy concurrida, pero un miembro útil de personal logró encontrar una mesa. Todos decidimos pedir hamburguesas y me quedé impresionado con la rapidez que nos sirven, especialmente teniendo en cuenta lo lleno El pub estaba. No son especialmente baratos, pero todos muy sabroso y bien presentado. El pub tenía un ambiente agradable y se ve muy bien desde las reformas. Espero que continúa la recogida como antes ha habido algunos clientes indeseables, pero era una mezcla encantadora de gente en esta ocasión. Bien hecho Yates volveremos.

So day at 12:20 i visited Yates for lunch. I have an allergy to peas and no other place i visit have an issue with me asking for these to be changed to Beans. this is my issue

Menú era típico pub grub pero con un diario especial para elegir. Las órdenes tomadas en el bar, algunas comidas venía con bebida incluida. El servicio era muy amable y rápidamente. Todas nuestras opciones se reunieron más o menos y teníamos un camarero joven llamado Tom que vieron a lugar ajustes y trajo cualquier cosa que necesitábamos. Todos tuvimos principales y que algunos postres que eran deliciosas. Te vamos a llamar de nuevo en nuestro almuerzo fechas. El menú ha sido renovado así puedes ir a la gente.

Venía con mi hijo y nos dieron dos comidas por £6. 95 La comida era encantador y bien presentado, aparte de los huesos de pescado bien secas en mi plato que alguien había puesto allí anteriormente.

Como dice el título es precios razonables y las bebidas son buenas, a veces decepción por los idiotas que son de la ciudad.

Algunos alimentos ordenados el pasado viernes a mediodía. Muy decepcionados con el tamaño del pescado suministrado y el muy lechuga flojo.

I had really bad experience would never visit this place again. Bar attendant(Lady) on 28/09/2016 6-7pm when I last visited this restaurant behaved in a very unwelcoming way - could be classified as racist behaviour. Not great, not terrible. If you're looking for a cheap and filling meal this might be your best bet. There are traditional English dishes accompanied by a nice selection of draught beers.The chicken wings are very very VERY cheap, and if you've just watched the food channel and are seeking some sort of chicken wing bonanza this might just be the place.There's a pool table surrounded by tables, so you can drink, eat and - if you're me - lose at pool.

visited Yates on Thursday and was amazed by the standard of the food having not been in since early January due to food being awful. Food was cooked to great standards and service was great, even in a busy period the staff that were on shift made time for everyone even my Kids. Food came out quickly and hot. Having asked the young female barmaid if they had changed company she simply said just the chef had changed. 10/10 from me they have made a difference from my last visit and i will be attending a lot more now i enjoy the food.

we went to yates on Tuesday 16 feb and orderd a combie meal for to when we got it the was only salad leafs no other no other salad was available also came with one sauce and only had two small mushrooms witch was soggie and cold when asked caroline form more salad the cheft told her that was all he had left and there was no other option was giving very disapointing

Came in for my lunch with my niece last wednesday. Not only was the food nice but also reasonably cheap. The staff were great and really helpful, they kept coming round talking to my niece and asking if i needed anything else and kept my niece well entertained. Normally she wants to be in and out of places but on this occasion was more than happy to stay.

Visited Yates Sunderland on a Monday lunchtime and took advantage of there Chicken melt deal for £2.99. The service was pleasant and friendly. I ordered a large coke with my meal so my total lunch bill came to just £4.54!!! Cheaper than a Greggs lunch!!! The food was prompt, well presented and warm. All in all it was a pretty decent visit.

I have been in Yates tonight and the staff have a real attitude and tried to make a complaint and the manager who wasn't on duty but was in the bar said there was drugs being dealt on the toilets so when my son tried to go to have a wee who is 12 the staffs boyfriend stopped him going in who doesn't even work there so the manager is let it happen and tried to tell me being a single mum had to take him into the toilets myself which is a disgrace

I personally love how cheap it is, and the food is pretty good too! 2 meals for 4.95 ( or something like that, no more that £6) is a pretty good deal! And 2 for 1 on desserts is good too! And they're eye watering, perfect for couples as its all in two's, service is a little slow though and could be more attentive. Apart from that it's great!

I was going to visit here today for lunch when visiting Sunderland, and was studying the food menu outside, and the atmosphere with a group of six smokers outside was somewhat hostile as they had obviously been drinking for several hours previously!

My 2 friends and I always visit this pub after a football match at the Stadium of Light. The round is 2 pints of John Smith's and a pint of San Miguel and the price is £6.05 - very reasonable. Imagine my horror when I was asked for £15.50 for the same 3 pints, a malibu and diet coke and a glass of diet coke on Sunday 5th April after the Sunderland v Newcastle derby. When I queried the bill, I was told the company had decided to put up prices with it being Easter Sunday. I was told that the San Miguel was £3.50 and the John Smith's was £2.60 a pint. I pointed out that came to £8.70 (a 43.8% increase on the normal match day round) and it still left me being charged £6.80 for a single malibu and diet coke and a glass of coke. Then when we went to order some food, we were told that they had stopped serving at 7.00 despite posters saying food was available. Needless to say we drank up and crossed over the road to go to Wetherspoon's where drink and food were available at normal prices. Wetherspoon's for some strange reason was a lot busier.

been twice, food was vile both times, burger was grey. Minging, waste of time and money and will not go back unless their menu, chef and cleanliness of the place changed. Would avoid, probably get more appetising food in burger king or such like.

Fancied an early couple of pints with wife. I drink real ale so thought Yates should be good for that. Disappointed they only had one choice, a Greene King IPA which I do like. Then told it was off, none left offered a John Smiths but not really the same. Went to Wetherspoons for a good choice and all available.

The cost and value of the meals very good and quality not compromised. Served quickly and with a smile. Staff happy to engage with customers and making them feel welcome and " a little special". It is located at the top of the high street but within easy walking distance of the town centre where you will find all the bus stop routes you need.
