Yaqub's Steakhouse Birmingham in Birmingham

We ordered 4 steaks . When the food came to the table it was warm not hot. Literally half way eating it had gone cold. Found 2 hairs in the rice. The pasta was the packet dolmio one. This was the first time we went. Sorry to say we won't be returning. Over £100 we spent. Overall very disappointed

The food was very tasty,portions were generous and the gentleman who served us was polite and courteous. The sirloin steak was very tasty and the sides were fresh and piping hot.I would happily revisit this establishment.

service was excellent & helpful. Great food for portion size & quality. varied choice of meals that covers most tastes. It was certainly worth it. Nice atmosphere as well. Highly recommended

The customer service is appalling and we waited 1 hour just for simple deep fried starters, we weren’t given any plates and cutlery only until requested. One of the starters was frozen in the middle and not once did the waiter apologise for this. Waited another 45 mins for mains and was extremely underwhelmed. The drab decor and lack of customers really set a disappointing atmosphere.

Not far away from all the hustle n bustle of Ladypool Road, is this Steak House 'Eaterey' . Known by Yacub's Steak House situated in centre somewhere in Sparkbrook, B'ham. It was a typical wet n windy Monday (November) night where myself and better half wanted a quick bite to eat whilst we were visiting Birmingham for a couple of days. There was no particular desire for a specific type of cuisine between us as we've only managed to dump our luggage at our hotel in Walsall which wasn't too far of a distance to travel from. Anyway we fancied STEAK for a change and lo and behold google pointed us to Yacub's. After a brief phone convo to enquire about booking & reservation + parking, we arrived to be greeted by a very pleased member of staff who showed us to our table at the centre of the restaurant. The place was literally deserted but that's not a negative aspect of our observation at that given time. Come on, it was a late Monday evening and we'd suspected it was busy earlier in the night and we probably were the last to walk in and ask for a table. Nonetheless our waiter " Khurum " was an excellent host as he introduced himself as the proud owners son. His pleasantries did stand out as being exceptional for due care and attention to detail in his overall mannerism. I opted for the Rib Eye Steak, (Halal) cooked Med to Well done with two sides accompanied by my favourite rich helping of 'Peppercorn' sauce to drape the lovely piece of meat presented to me with all the additional trimmings. That wasn't all,..? Khurum, was in a jolly giving mood and took us by surprise by way of a kind gesture provided extras (sides) & Sauces / gravy to sample as well to what we had already. What could we SAY... roll on the Steak.; as it appeared, so appealing well cooked,... mmmm juicy tender, succulent piece after piece was devoured by myself!! Bravo.. to the Chef for cooking this piece of Rib Eye, and if I may hasten add a good size too. The verdict wasn't just very good as that would not be justice in any shape or form, it was Excellent 100% satisfactory and the lingering taste would leave me to ask myself when would be my next Steak Mission, or how soon? This place has got its act together as being a Steak House to be talked about for the right reasons amongst the locals who frequent it and for those who travel / passing through and stumble into Yacub's yearing for a delightful chunk of grilled mouthwatering piece of meat be it Sirloin, Rump or Rib Eye cooked with every bit of passion and pride to win your hearts over and fall in love with Yacub's Steak House and make it a regular eating venue with family friends and colleagues all of appreciate and indulge themselves into a " piece of meat to chew on " from time to time to satisfy their craving. Been waiting over an hour for food when other people who arrived after us are being served before us

Upon on arrival the manager was rude! Eventually we was seated even tho i rang them to book but was not "jotted down" the manager said. We waited nearly an hour to be seated then when we was it was nearly 30 mins until our order for drinks came! I ordered rib Eye steak which was over done when I try to send it back the waiter was so rude! My wife ordered the chicken which was rubbery & smelt funny! The meals are so expensive for what you get! Also to top it off I'm sure the one of the staff has been taking something but I might be wrong! Anyway I wont be coming here again its just truly unacceptable & I'm writing this review to save you the bother!

So I saw some reviews online for this steakhouse. The photos looked amazing and my wife has always bugged me about going out for a steak. Lol. This place didn’t disappoint. We booked in advance to reserve a table during the crazy Covid times.   Yaqubs is very Covid friendly and have arranged the tables with social distancing in mind following all government guidelines. It was relatively quite when we went but that was fine. Staff were good and orders were taken in a timely fashion.   The wife ordered some wings and a mocktail and I order some mozzarella sticks as our starters. Very tasty. The wings were soft and full of flavour. Cooked very well. For our mains, I had a Yaqubs ultimate burger (lots and lots of meat) and chips (with a side salad) whilst my wife went for a steak, mash and salad. Again, both meals were excellent. Went down a treat, so much so we didn’t have room for dessert! I have already booked my next trip there …

Booked by wife several days prior for anniversary dinner. Told to arrive at 2030 tonight. Arrived on time but told us no evidence of booking and told to leave and try 45 mins later. Complete joke. Could easily have not turned up as wife had headache but came as i know how it hits a business with no shows. Chap who tried to resolve matter agreed that we had probably made a booking but it was not jotted down but said no worker would admit to their mistake and could not accomodate Avoid like the plague. Very dissapointed as we had travelled far.

I came here last night with my partner, and I can honestly say the food was amazing! Staff very friendly, but the food was amazing. After looking around Birmingham for a good food place that didnt have a big que I was getting ready to go home and order pizza, but my partner found yaqub steakhouse so we thought we should give it a try it, I WAS AMAZED at how good the food was, the steak was cooked to perfection for both myself and my partner, and the sauce that comes with it was amazing. I'm a rice person so I judge rice a lot yaqub spicy rice wasnt spicy but was delicious will definitely be coming again. Ordered 2 sirloin steaks with mocktails and due to the government scheme we paid like £18 which made the food even better then it already is! In all honestly I would have paid full price the food it was good. Honesty it's a hidden gem and the food was top class.

The premises was unclean, food basic that anyone could cook at home 10x better. No eat out help out scheme given when they are a registered restaurant on the gov website. When questioned they said we haven’t had confirmation and we are telling customers but they did not make us aware of this when we entered. They were the only accepting 3 tables at a time so had to wait 45 mins initially and then as there was one waiter, he kept forgetting things and took another 20 mins after serving food to serve us our drinks which were sat on the side for the whole time until I mentioned it. Absolutely ridiculous prices, paid £82 (4 people)for basic food and waiting over an hour and crap service.

It was not brilliant but cannot say was to bad either. Price would say is ok for what we had as not the best, but it is edible food. Gravy, mash and chips not bad. Not big fan of the veg though. If you like steaks then great give it a go.

The worse food I've ever tasted rubber chicken tasteless steak seen rats by the toilet.would not let my dog eat here!

The first time I went was in 2015, it was great it was amazing, the lighting the atmosphere was all great. I went yday on a Friday, it was dull,empty poor lighting. Regarding the food the steak was nice, but the mash was awful. Really need to change it. The main downfall was the presentation, the food 3 years ago came in a wooden plate, was well presented and shows it's a good steak place. Yday they completely changed it into plastic plates, and presenation was awfull. Felt like eating in home plates. Why did u guys change? U need to bring back the wooden plates or sizzle plates, to present a proper steakhouse and that's what's missing.

I accidentally saw them and decideed to try once. It’s amazing! The food, mocktail and ice-cream were delicious. 4 stars recommended for huge size of steak, very wonderful mocktail, and fantastic starter.

What can I say, this place is amazing, steaks, burgers, starters, everything is so tasty, one of my favourite places to eat in Birmingham recently, service is great, friendly staff, great food, easy parking, will be visiting again very soon

Amazing service ! Huge step up from my previous time. Visited this past week and everything was spot on 110% recommend. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and it was a good experience. Thankyou will certainly return again good luck ! 👍

My husband and I went for dinner here and we're very impressed. We have not been to the restaurant for a while, but the standard was still the same. The menu great with lots of choice for steak lovers. My husband had a 10oz ribeye and I had the Fillet both were scrummy! The onion gravy sauce has improved which is more like it used to be. Dessert was lovely too. The soft drinks were very nice too and served pleasantly. All in all a lovely experience with dedicated staff.
