Always delicious! The la galbi is pure heaven!!!

The food is delicious, however. Portion sizes aren't very big at all. The skewers of meat are slithers of meat. As opposed to chunks. Which for the price, I'd expect chunks. Besides that, great quality and the service was great.

Authentic Korean food proven by the number of Korean people visiting this place. The food is clean and tasty. The idea of barbecuing your own meat over charcoal at the table is fantastic Visit this place if you are in the neighbourhood.

Super tasty food, completely new to me. It was also a great experience for my wife, who ate a vegetarian, very spicy and also hot soup. We both enjoyed it very much! Unfortunately we didn't actually test the BBQ, but we'll do that at some point. Most visitors had the table grills. The only drawback is that the clothes smell very strongly when you eat here.

Great food great service never experienced kbbq with real coals. Do not hesitate to go here everything is fresh and flavourful. Lily the waitress was very attentive and the low lighting makes of a mysterious atmosphere.

My favourite Korean in East London :) Service is always warm & welcoming and food consistently good. Haven't found better Budae Jjigae yet!

The kimchee portion is bigger than I thought. The lamb dice was generously skewed so could be BBQ to juicer and tastier.

The skewers are delicious. I think this price is pretty good in London. I was confused because the menu was written in English and Chinese. The employees were Chinese, but the owner and chef were Korean. Overall, it was friendly and okay.

One of the staff was nice but the food could've been better. Be aware that if you want to grill at the table you need to order a large number of skewers as well.

Love this place. Always hits the spot. Love the selection of smaller dishes. Tteokbokki, japchae and kimchi fried rice all excellent. Can’t go wrong here.

Great place for skewers, Korean bbq and Korean dishes all in one place! Fits for 6ppl or more as well, so it’s suitable for small gatherings which I’ve done twice. They also have good alcohol options. All of the food were delicious! Recommend to book in advance as it gets quite busy towards end of week.

I love this place. Food is great! I’ve never had the bbq but I can vouch for all the other bits. The pancake and chicken is great. I always come here before going to a rich mix show afterwards. Great spot.

Wonderful place! The skewers are delicious, and the cold noodles we had were fantastic. The broth was lovely and so refreshing. They have a lot of different skewers to choose from, so everyone finds something. I can recommend this place!

Absolutely delicious. We had kimchi pancake, lamb skewers, chicken hearts, bibimbap, veg dumplings and Japanese flavour finger (dessert). Loved every single item. The setup is fantastic with a good chimney and a bbq rack that automatically rotates to keep the meat cooking evenly.

This is one of the best foods I've had in my 8 years of living here. My son picked it for our migration anniversary. It is a nice quaint and clean space. The staff was so friendly and patiently checked up on us as it was our first time. They instructed us on how to order and cook the meats. All the dishes were flavourful. We ordered: chicken dumplings, the filling was so nice and the dumplings crispy how I like it. Korean crispy fry wings, I'm in love with the crispiness of it. Chicken gizzard, I love chicken gizzard it tastes really good but I don't think I'll bbq it again. Lamb and beef, those meats were perfect. The lamb is so tender and juicy. The beef was spot on. The kimchi fried rice. My first time having kimchi and I love it. The rice was packed with flavour and the perfect amount of spice. I will be back for sure. I absolutely enjoyed every bite.

Food was great and good value for money, however although staff were pleasant enough I felt like even when it wasn’t busy they were very quick to remove plates from table without asking whether we’d finished and even after paying there was no sort of greetings or smile and staff kind of disappeared into the back ground. I feel that this restaurant would be 5 star if staff improved a bit on niceties especially service with a smile and just asking us how we enjoyed the food or whether we needed anything else would make the experience perfect, as friendly service is always a bonus!!!

The food is ok but quite over priced for what you get.

Due to space constraint you might have to share BBQ tables but thats fine with us since the food is amazing!! Everything was value for money and don't compromise on taste! We had KFC, lamb and beef plus a few offal bbqs which could be hard to find (these were cleaned amazingly), the salad trio as well for a cleanse of palate. BBQ comes with sauce too which is great, and the machines do the work for you instead of having to flip it every few mins. Will be back next time for the naegmyeon which I saw on the menu as well as other dishes! Average 50-70/ 2 person for average eaters.

Consistent, high quality food. The only restaurant in London that serves authentic skewers from Yanji, and the Korean menu is a welcome bonus. Go hard on the beef skewers (they're the best) and finish with soup and rice/pancake!

Love this place ❤️ food is very tasty! We had budae jjigae, bibimbap, mixed lamb & beef skewer and pork belly enoki mushroom skewer. All costs are below £60. Would definitely come back!

Took my daughter here for her ĺbirthday meal, and it didn't disappoint, we shared between us lamb & beef skewers, kimchi, Beef fried rice, fried beef udon noodles & kimchi pancakes all tasty & flavoursome, the service was great. Would definitely go there again.

We booked for a party of 6 and were not disappointed. The food was excellent - delicious lamb and beef kebabs, KFC wings and rice sides - and the experience of cooking the meat over charcoal on the bbq was great fun. We ate and drank really well for about £30pp. We will be back soon!

Really good Chinese bbq and Korean food crossover. Hard to find quality Chinese bbq or Korean in the city that isn’t out in New Malden. Any fan of these foods will have a great time with some mates!

Lamb skewer is one of my fav, and I’m so grateful to find this restaurant which does it so good! The staff were super nice to us and chatted to our baby girl. She enjoyed the meat and noodles. Lovely dishes, thank you 😊

Everything was delicious but I got food poisoning from the rice. I am vegetarian and my partner ate meat (but not rice) and was fine.

New favourite! The skewers we ordered were very very good. The bbq is charcoal so is SO flavourful! We ordered; skewers of chicken hearts, lamb and of beef. The kimchi is 10/10. Fried chicken is out of this world 👽 made with (maybe) cornflakes. BBQ pork belly. Emoji This place is a really a special find, not many real charcoal fire korean bbq places around. However, keep an eye on your food and if you don't, don't come here crying about overlooking your own food.

Food was great, service was good - they missed an item and the ended up giving another item by mistake. We paid by cash and they gave us a discount... which is always helpful. The space is cramped but the vibes were great. We got our own little room with our group, so it felt cosy.

Came back here for third time because the lamb skewers is really nice. Loved the cold noodle as well, goes very well with the BBQ meat. Good service as well, this place always need to book beforehand as the shop is quite small and always full during meal hours. Will definitely recommend!

Sunday lunch with mother and family, quite refreshing with BBQ skewers cooked on the table ourselves. Food is nicely seasoned, portions size ok, 5 people comes to £120, not as much as we thought it was going to be. Would recommend a visit.

Delicious authentic Korean food 🍱 The highlight is the kimchi- outstanding!

This is our second time to Yan Ji. It’s one of very few BBQ restaurants in London that uses Charcoal for the BBQ. Our beef skewers were a little disappointing compared to last time, shouldn’t be marinated too much as we cant tell if it is cooked. The other dishes like grilled eggplant and cold noodles were great! Please improve the beef with less marinate and fresher meat, and it will be 5 stars. If you are here, best to order more types of skewers and enjoy with rice or noodle dishes 👀🙌🏻

Skewers are grilled for 5-7 mins only, very quick and tasted good. All dishes meet our expectations, not bad!

The indoor BBQ is a strange experience, not for a drunken end to your evening. The coals give off a lot of heat - not a warm summer's evening event. An interesting gimmick.

Good korean bbq on an interesting rotisserie style built into the table. Not the 5 star korean bbq you may have had before but pretty good for london. Recommend if youve never had korean bbq before, stick to the safe korean bbq (lamb, pork, beef) dont f**k with other menu items of the gamey stuff like chicken hearts and pork intestines

Highly recommend the special bbq beef skewers, very well marinated and big portions of meat. Other food was fine but the bbq was the real reason I’d recommend and come back again. It’d be better if reserved, quite popular it seems.

Go for the main beef skewers and the bibimbap. Very tasty.

The food was of very good quality and the service was super fast! We’ve been a few times already and it’s become our go to now! The side dishes compliment the meat beautifully, and we loved all of the different sauces and spices

You wouldn't have guessed this from the reviews here. And perhaps some of the reviewers haven't travelled to Asia, but this is one of the best all rounders for Korean food. Some places do things well and other things not so well, Yanji manages to pull off most things brilliantly. I felt I was back in Asia, in a small barbecue restaurant. The taste was spot on. The KFC is perhaps the best cooked restaurant I've had in a restaurant in the UK, the sauce was good, but not quite authentic as they are catering to the English palate. However there's a hack to be had here which is add the hot sauce they serve for free. The seafood pancake was fluffy, but a little too oily, but still tasty. The service is efficient and pleasant.

We were in London for the weekend and found Yanji on google. One of my new favourite places in London! Friendly and quick service and still affordable. The BBQ skewers are very fresh and so tasty, especially with the seasoning dips they come with. My favourites were the lamb and squid but all were yummy! We also ordered some Korean dishes: teokbokki, spicy seafood tofu stew and kimchi fried rice and I especially loved the teokbokki and the stew, the flavours are authentic. The kimchi is really good as well.

From the moment we were greeted to the moment we left, we were taken care of in amazing fashion. There was always someone on hand to help understand the menu and advise us. The food was thoroughly enjoyed and we left feeling both satisfied and cared for. Can’t wait to return.

Unfortunately got there about 9pm. They closed at 10pm. Went to celebrate my eldest son's birthday. He did not get ANYTHING he ordered. Manager offered him just kimchi rice and said the kitchen is closed; instead of udon and chicken. Even though no service charge or kimchi rice (which was a bit of an insult) on the bill, it was still £65 for 2 meals plus soft drinks. (Our food did not come together either and we were not allowed to cook the meat at the table. They said it was too late.) Not the experience we were looking for

It was a last minute dinner idea and it was the most fun I’ve had while at a restaurant. The staff were very helpful, funny and polite. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to have and interactive experience while dining. Overall 10/10!!!

I would say here is the best(and very authentic!) Korean restaurant in the UK!

We were so excited to try this place and booked in advance to avoid disappointment on a busy Friday evening. We had visitors from abroad and built expectations around dining here. Unfortunately after waiting for our table for a bit we got told they were overbooked and couldn't accommodate us. Our entire plan for the evening was screwed and all the other restaurants in the area were full and only accepting bookings. We also called to inform them we were 15 mins late and they said it was fine. We could have been told then they did not have space and arranged something else in the meantime. Going there with guests and being turned down was not a great experience!

Great food, but a bit of scattered service. A lot of our dishes arrived waaay after others meaning a feast of just rice at the end of a meal. The skewers are increadible, go with beef and lamb. Also a lot of food is peanut heavy so beware

Food is very nice, however this isn't a traditional KBBQ experience. The only types of meat you can cook yourself are all in skewer form, and you can only cook yourself if you order 10+ skewers.

Not a Korean BBQ. Kitchen-made skewers were better quality than the grill items, which are expensive for the quality of the meat. If we went again, I'd order more from the menu not the grill skewers.

I was waiting outside in the snow with my umbrella and a member of staff waved for me to come in. I felt welcome even though I came in 15 minutes before the kitchen closed at 21:30 and the staff was so understanding and was able to provide me with tasty take-away food! It was all warm, delicious and well prepared. Would recommend!

Ordered Japchai....beef. Had it before with beautiful thin sliced beef.... tonight's was grizzley, not the same beef at all. Very disappointed. Won't order that again.

A lot of people are getting this placed confused with Korean BBQ as they've advised this incorrectly on their website. The BBQ itself is actually Chinese BBQ, but they have other dishes on the menu which is Korean such as Kimchi, Pajeon and Bibimbap. However I would it is not authentic Korean. I know the person that did this restaurant up when it first opened and it is a Chinese BBQ restaurant, with some Korean dishes but definitely NOT KOREAN BBQ! So don't get them confused. Food on the other hand is ok if you like marinated meats and offal. They serve skewers of chicken, beef, lamb, hearts, gizzards, intestines etc. We also ordered some Korean dishes such as the seafood pancake and Korean fried chicken, which if you ask me is probably the worst Korean food I've eaten. Not that it's awful tasting or anything but just does not taste authentic. If you were to compare this to K-Town in New Malden, K-Town being a 10/10 I would give this at most 2/10. However an interesting experience if you've never had Chinese BBQ, but I personally won't be coming back as there are much better choices out there.
