Yangtze Chinese Restaurant in Windsor and Maidenhead

Not only is Hong Kong the best Chinese in Windsor - it’s one of the best I’ve ever been to. We are normally loyal to them - but with it being a large party we thought an all you can eat made more sense. Was it bad Chinese food? No. Was it good Chinese food? No. This place is the definition of average. Service was ok, food was ok, everything was just ok.

Excellent service and quality food at an affordable price. We are sitting here now and felt we needed to give this restaurant a very good review 3rd time visit. We thought it was outstanding value

We came here at the beginning of the month for date night. Upon arrival around 7 pm, you could see the restaurant was extremely busy with a queue of people waiting outside. We were seen to kindly given a table for two in the corner out of the way of the massive groups they had in. We ordered all of our food together rather than doing starters and mains etc so asked for all the food to come out at once. We had a nice array of food across the table. Everything was piping hot and looked delicious. Somehow we managed to eat all the food we had ordered and we are both extremely pleased. The food taste great and very well seasoned. We only had a coke so I can’t really comment on the drinks offering. I had visited earlier in the year as a group of friends for my birthday and we literally had the worst night ever. Three hours of sitting in the restaurant and we hadn’t even received our main course (at this point they had only just taken our order for mains as we had complained). Ben towards the end when we were still in heated conversations about how much we should all pay, they served the cake my friend had baked and started got the girls to start singing happy birthday. 😂😂 most bizarre situation ever, but looking back it makes me laugh. This obviously put me off coming here again but my partner had recently visited and had a great experience so asked me to try it again and I’m glad that I did because I had a great time. Personally I feel this restaurant can deliver for small groups of people, but I would say as soon as the numbers get to 6 or above they struggle .

There were 9 of us in the party celebrating a big birthday for my Grandma. We had reserved the big round table and were welcomed eagerly. Ryan the waiter was extremely accommodating and attentive as always. Our mixed starters came out and were plentiful, piping hot and such good quality. We then had the crispy duck and pancakes which were out of this world! We were offered extra pancakes but declined and we were also given 15 minutes to let the food go down before we went on to our mains. The staff were more than happy to provide a few things that weren’t on the menu and often checked to see that we were happy and if we needed anymore food and drinks. Once again we had another consistantly amazing family meal out. Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Windsor!

Had takeaway from this restaurant as visitors to Windsor and not knowing which places were good. Poor quality shared starter, main courses lacked enough sauce and depth of flavour. Very few cashews in the ‘chicken and cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce’. Wouldn’t recommend.

Dreadful place! Food was awful , the lowest of the lowest. The staff were all unhappy looking not interested in customer service. Give this place a swerve.

It's got to be bad for me to do this. I always said I will only ever do a bad review if the experience was truly terrible. I used to go to Yangtze's years ago with friends and it was always a good experience. Anyway I decided to take my wife and two children for their first time. We booked ahead and arrived when it was almost empty. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel unwelcome. It was Valentines night and there were a few couples dotted here and there but we were the only family. We had the eat all you can at £26.95 per head but after 20 minutes nothing had happened. We finally got a cold plate of starters (the seaweed was inedible) and then again waited. Took another ten minutes to get anyone to come over and then we got our crispy duck. It was fine. But not much of it so we ordered another (eat all you can remember). We finished that and waited. And waited. And waited. We were blatantly ignored. Weirdly so. An hour later we got some mains - the wrong ones. We requested no hot/spicy food. We got hot/spicy food. We requested sweet n sour pork. We got bbq pork. We ordered seasonal vegetables - goodness knows what we got, but they weren't "In season!". Throughout the whole evening we had one small bowl of rice to share. I am not going to go in to more detail but it was a farce. There was not one single enquiry as to how our meal was or if we wanted anything else etc. We were there nearly two hours and the whole time was just painful and quite frankly embarrassing. We spent £100 and I doubt we ate £30 worth of food. Luckily we could all see the funny side of it in the end but had I not been with my children I would made a very visible complaint but as it was a special night and a treat for them I wasn't going to do that. It's a very easy decision to never go back.

We have been to this restaurant on several occasions before as it is next door to the Theatre and always been delighted by the service and food. Oh!! should have spotted something had changed when the waitress served us with her coat on as it was so cold. 5 of us given two menus between us, so, ok not dire, drinks served and food ordered. No nibbles as before and plastic/rubber tablecloths, ok cutting costs. In this day & age acceptable - maybe. Plates arrived for our food. They were so cold they could have come direct from the fridge. Then the food arrived. Two of us had the same dish - stone cold. The other three had very luke warm dishes including the rice, but they said this was acceptable and was tasty. We sent our dishes back as cold chow mein did not appeal. These two dishes re-appeared which were now slightly warmer but now had a nice crispness to the noodles where they were either nuked or re-fried. This used to be a treat to look forward to prior to the theatre. Will be sure to give a very wide berth in future and try one of the other varied eateries in the area, but oh what a shame.

Had not been here for several years and thought we would go as it was always good value and good food. Unfortunately things have changed. As expected with the economy the price has increased but so has the quality of the food. No longer is e.g. the chicken with cashew nuts as described but more like fried vegetables with 5 half cashews and then a few pieces of chicken. We found this with most dishes in that the meat has shrunk and the vegetables increase which is not what we ordered. Crispy duck was ok as it could not be much else but the satay chicken starters were skinny and more stick than chicken. Will not be going back as there are now more better restaurants in Windsor.

We have been here many times, and the food never disappoints. Always great tasting food and decent portion sizes and lots to choose from. The staff are helpful and are accommodating of big families or events. On this particular occasion we were here for my Mother in Laws 60th birthday, they allowed us to decorate the table, and put balloons and banners up :) we also brought a cake, which they stored and then brought out for us :) The prices have gone up slightly from our previous visit (November) but that’s to be expected with the cost of everything rising. The food is so worth it though! We will be back again soon :)

Situated next to play house on main road, doesn’t look anything special from outside but the food and service is excellent. Works like an all you can eat but you choose as many dishes as you like, and I mean as many. We started with spare ribs, prawn toast,seaweed and spring rolls all were great. Then duck and pancakes of which were plenty followed by hot n spiced soup. Main course king po chicken and special fried rice. By this time we were stuffed we were asked several times if we wanted more but at 70 your appetite starts to wane a bit ha ha. They charge £24.99 per head and it’s worth every penny. Definitely recommend and will certainly visit again if we go to Windsor.

First time to this Chinese and our group are all fans of Chinese food, so we were definitely looking forward to this. The place was completely heaving when we arrived and we had to wait a short time for our table, despite booking in advance. We went for the 'all you can eat' menu and enjoyed all of the many dishes we were served. And we really did try many dishes! All were nice and hot too. Service was good and we had no real issue getting more food or drinks, which were delivered promptly. Communication was a bit difficult because it was so loud but that is not the fault of the venue. This place is literally next to the castle with it being mere metres from the outer wall. No parking or anything associated with the restaurant, but that is normal in Windsor. The two negatives that stop this place being scored 5: - The toilets (can only comment on the gents) were filthy. Not because it was busy. But like suffering serious maintenance issues and quite smelly. I've definitely used better toilets in actual rundown parts of Asia. A daily clean is no longer enough for this place. - We were a group later in the evening and when we leaving and more lighting was provided, we could see the floor was in quite a state. Like they have really struggled to clean up the place in a timely manner and so the whole floor was covered in stains. Yes, commercial carpet is expensive to replace, but there is a limit as to when optional becomes a must and this place really needs new flooring ASAP. Neither of these ruined the meal but you then wonder how good is the rest of the place if they can't do the basics? I would go again though and really hope the negatives are corrected soon.

I last reviewed this restaurant 10 months ago, I have no idea why I don’t visit more, the food is always consistently good, right opposite the castle apart from the building next door blocking passers by seeing the restaurant, it’s very easy to find. However It’s simple plain layout, doesn’t catch the eye, but the food is good, and pretty good value with good portion sizes, they seem to have three menus, one is an eat all you want, this seemed like the most popular dishes at a set price, a a of the food Is freshly cooked and they will bring dish after dish as long as you keep ordering, I was given a simple single laminated sheet with different dishes on both sides, I had no problem choosing, but upon leaving, I saw a family with a bigger menu, possibly a four or six page A4 size one, I would of liked to been offered that as I’m very adventurous with my food.

We went to The YANGZTE on Saturday night for my Sisters Birthday. There was 9 of us, including children and they couldn’t do enough for us. They even brought the cake out and everyone in the Restaurant sang “HAPPY BIRTHDAY”. Can’t thank them enough! Highly recommend!! Extra Big thank you too Brian/Ryan?? We will definitely be going back. Forgot to say,,,, it’s a Buffet/Eat all you want menu. 👍😃👍

This restaurant is located at the bottom of the hill opposite Windsor castle, so very easy to find with plenty of parking nearby - though be aware the place we parked in was £9 for 2 hours - not cheap - and i'm sure the nearby railway station car park would be cheaper. Restaurant was clean and clinically white, and the staff were pretty friendly, without being overtly so. Starters came out quickly and were very tasty (excellent dumplings cooked so they were not slimy at all, and great salt and pepper squid), but the mains took longer than they should of as a pre arranged Asian tourist party managed to come in and have their entire food between our starters and main! Once the mains came out, it was of good quality and taste, though the beef in oyster sauce wasn't as flavoursome as i would have liked, it was cooked in some sort of weak gravy. Bill came in chinese writing so was hard to check whether it was accurate, but it seemed about right. Would come here again, but would more likely try somewhere else in Windsor as there is plenty of choice!

Fantastic food and value for money . Service excellent. Eat as much as you want served to the table and over looking the castle .

I had a delicious Chef's feast with friends before walking up to the theatre, feeling nicely full. The food was hot, there was plenty of it with lots of variety, the service was fast, very friendly and relaxed plus it was great value.

Went for a family dinner to celebrate my father in-law. 12 of us (6 adults) had a lovely time, we went early so loads of staff who were very attentive (almost too attentive...if you know what I mean), food came out fast and in very generous portions, even when we re-ordered. Quality of the food was good for what it is (all you can eat), not over salted/msg'ed. Pricing was fair...all in all a pleasant experience. Have been before, would go again. Had a lovely walk around Windsor after to work of some of the food!

Visited with my family. Thought the food was good and it was great to keep ordering without feeling guilty! Duck was super! Service was good too and very friendly.

Was invited here with friends for a family celebration and was worried as Chinese is not always the easiest thing if you can't eat gluten. There was nothing mentioned on the menu as to what could be gluten free, so I sent an email, but the replies did not really help me so while in Windsor popped in to speak to them. Still had concerns but gradually got the answers I needed and there was plenty of dishes that I could eat.On the day all went well and the food was lovely.My advice to the restaurant would be to list the items that can be gluten free or have a gluten free version of the menu's. Also given the tourist nature of the area, to advertise it outside the restaurant so people walking around looking for somewhere to eat are aware that they can easily eat there, even though they can't eat gluten. Without making people aware, someone who can't eat gluten is likely to dismiss this restaurant if they just went by the menu's outside.

Where do I start? Starters were presented and to say they weren’t appealing would be an understatement, being quite hungry we charged through them. I’m not gonna sit here and tell you the ins and outs of everything but I know one thing, it was bang average. Tasteless, runny chicken satay sauce, mushrooms that have put me off mushrooms for good. So yeah don’t get fooled by the location, you won’t be catching the royals there anytime soon. Over and outAlfie

Where to begin, on arrival we entered the establishment to a very uncomfortable and un warming atmosphere, we was seated at a very unstable table, feeling sea sick we then had trouble with basic communication with the staff ordering drinks and starters we finally received our dishes which wasn’t good on the eye or the pallet, prawn toast looking like it should be served with 2 sausage 2 bacon beans and bubble you can’t only imagine the amount of oil, enduring this experience we moved on to our mains… we are face to face with what I can only describe as a cocktail of dishes and a very depressed duck. All in all food was under average, staff hospitality very poor. All on the queens door step I should contact the papers.

Absolutely disgusting service,20 minutes after being seated we got a menu,then 30 minutes later we got our starter, meal for 2 containing 2 spare ribs,2 pieces of prawn toast and 2 miniscule pancake rolls,,I could go on and on about this place but I don't want to,just avoid it on a Saturday night, you won't be happy, £45 later and got a decent kebab down the road,good luck if you go there,we never hit the main meals

There were 7 of us and we could not get in at a number of places at short notice, so we were pleased to get a table here at about 6pm on a Sunday. We all had the 'all you can eat' buffet. We had trouble understanding the waitress and we never found it very easy to find out exactly the best way to order. In the end we got a selection of starters, which we shared, then soup, then crispy duck, then 7 main courses with rice or noodles between us. We were continually offered more food and once or twice added a dish.We had a couple of problems getting the right drink and when we asked if the lager was draft or from a bottle or can, we were told that it comes in a glass.The place was a little drab, but the food was really good value and the service was very attentive.

Very happy to find that 15 years since last time it is the same great place it is used to be. The food is as great as it used to be, the the staff is as ever friendly and the service is as ever quick. The place feels authentic and the unpretentious decorum is a part of the charm.With this atmosphere, location and food, the price makes it a steal.

This place is a pretty generic Chinese restaurant. The food is basic, and done to a cheap restaurant standard. That isn't to say its bad, but it's budget.What annoyed me is that I went in and ordered my food. Everyone else in the restaurant were having a huge variety.I realised this was an eat as much as you like restaurant and I was the only person choosing from the menu because I was on my own.My food was exactly the same as theirs. The difference was that I got nailed for top price for one starter and one main course. The other customers paid a low price and got anything they wanted. My food was exactly the same the stuff you send out in unlimited quantities to budget customers. That was unfair.

Yangtze continues to be a great restaurant with amazing food. We were so happy to be able to visit again AND sit inside. The restaurant has good COVID precautions in place and now does a take out menu too. Lovely to see their friendly and professional staff again. All are very attentive. One change I noticed is that service is no longer automatically added to your bill, so please don't forget to leave something. We nearly missed that having been so used to having it applied already.

I have been going to Yangtze for 20 years, it’s an amazing dining experience where you can try everything on the menu at no extra cost. The food is fresh and is some of the tastiest Chinese food I have ever eaten. For an all you can eat it’s amazing quality. Highly Recomend, I visit at least twice a month

I hate to write a bad review, but I felt I couldn’t not to be honest! The quality of this food was terrible, no prawn in the prawn toast, no vegetables in the vegetable spring rolls, no beef in the crispy chilli beef! Nothing annoys me more than when Chinese restaurants serve food that don’t contain more than a crumb of the main ingredient. It wasn’t good value for money, all the sauces tasted the same in the main courses, I couldn’t differentiate them. It was also more salty than other Chinese restaurants. Overall, I won’t be coming back but also won’t be recommending it to anyone- such a shame.

We ordered quite a few dishes as it was our first time. The food was absolutely terrible. Worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever tasted. The chicken was uncooked and squidgy, it did not taste like chicken, not sure what it was to be honest. All of the dishes were not cooked in sauce, they were drowsed in oil. The food was absolutely terrible, really disappointing. Threw all the food in the bin, such a waste of money.

En una búsqueda rápida de dónde encontrar un buen restaurante chino local, fuimos con Yangtze (nuestra primera vez), que no era lo más local para nosotros en Earley, pero una noche en Windsor fue un placer. A su llegada maravilloso saludo de caballero con estación de desinfección lista en la puerta. Desde allí, pasamos 2 horas siendo servidos platos increíblemente cocinados y deliciosos con un gran servicio de todos los camareros / camareras. Recomiendo encarecidamente este encantador restaurante y ya estoy deseando volver.

The food was very cheap and poor quality. The chicken was the rubber water filled type. Duck had no flavour. The starters must have been bought in from sainsburys. You get what you pay for.

Was very nice food, but could have done with being hotter as it was sat in the trays and had gone rather cold. But would definitely try it again.

Hemos estado en Yangtze Chinese muchas veces durante los años que visitamos Windsor, por nuestra cuenta o con amigos y siempre hemos tenido una buena experiencia, lamentablemente no esta vez.Si bien el servicio era bueno, la comida no era muy buena, las porciones han reducido en tamaño y la calidad de algunos de los platos era pobre, en particular las algas crujientes y las gambas mariposas eran muy pobres y el pollo agridulce era principalmente cebolla con casi ningún pollo o salsa.El otro problema para nosotros fue un hombre que creemos que es el propietario, estaba sentado afuera del restaurante fumando constantemente con la puerta abierta de par en par, ya que era una noche cálida y había humo a la deriva que era inaceptable.No creemos que volveremos en futuros viajes, lo cual es una gran pena.

Procesado procesado Los refrescos eran tan planos! No había ambiente. El restaurante en sí no se veía muy limpio. En general, me sorprende que este restaurante no haya aparecido en ‘Gordon Ramsey 's Hells Kitchens’. Definitivamente no voy a volver.

Small portions. No value for money. Rip off. They rush you. No customers. No atmosephere. They make you pay surcharge and say its mandatory. So I urinated all over bathroom floor. Staff caught me. Threatened police. But did nuthin. So I carried on eating. Will never come back! Lol

Mejor chino en Windsor! Buena cantidad de platos en el menú de todo lo que puedas comer. Hemos estado viniendo por años y nunca hemos estado decepcionados. Justo al lado del teatro real. y se puede ver el castillo de Windsor a través de la carretera.

今天在餐廳點了麻婆豆腐，不僅賣相強差人意，味道也是極差，即不麻也不辣，而且還是完全乾身，是沒有汁的麻婆豆腐！另外奇怪的是，女服務員看到只是我一人吃飯時，直接把桌上送給客人的餐前蝦片給拿走了，但是埋單時仍然收了我服務費。悄悄問了鄰桌的幾個客人，他們也說味道很差。實在不明白為何還有人給好評，實在懷疑是否餐廳自己人所評。

I went here for a meal with my friends on a Friday evening. The food was really delicious and very fresh and tasty the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely be returning soon for a meal here.

Don’t go here - I went and had food posing. I rang and informed them the next day to be told a manager would call back but no one did. I also wrote to them and had no reply.

We ate here before a theatre trip some 8 years and it didn't disappoint all this time later either !! So much to choose from and it just kept coming, tasty and hot and superb value at £15.80 pp.

Yet again amazing meal, was fairly busy so i had booked, we ate so much and it jyst kept coming. I defo recommend this place, if you order mix starter then duck followed by your main course choices you wont go wrong.

I went in for a lunch and was surprised at just how rude the manager and staff were. I honestly couldn't believe the way they treat people and talk to them. I simply refuse to ever go back. The food is average at best.

Once again we had a lovely meal in The Yangtze Restaurant before a date at the Theatre. The service was excellent very attentive the food was delicious and piping hot and the venue for the price "All you can eat for 14.99" was perfect. Don't be put off try this restaurant the food is wonderful

Went here last night for dinner with my partner. We had the set meal for 2 and it was absolutely delicious....there was plenty of food and the lady serving us was very friendly and attentive. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening. Can highly recommend this restaurant.

I used to come to this restaurant a fair bet but for many years haven't been. When passing through area and looking for food decided to come here.

Well where to start. No customer service found here. Miserable staff and slow service. Avoid the vegetables. They look grey and slimey and don't taste much better. Complete rip off on price. Worse Chinese I have ever been too.

This place has been going for years and still guarantees a good selection of chinese food and a good service. Some people here mention portion sizes but you can order as many as you like, so I dont get the complaint??? I agree that the drinks can be better priced and I also agree that the decor needs updating. However, this place delivers on food - not high end mind - but delivers a fulfilling meal!

We had read the reviews an here seemed to offer the best option for six of us to eat on a visit to Windsor. Well, what a great eating experience we had! The number of Chinese visitors was a good guide as to what would be served. Authentic and tasty food in a buzzing atmosphere. Great!

A group of 3 Couples visited this restaurant today, Sunday, and we arrived at 13:00. We were all on a Chinese trip in 2016, and we meet annually to renew friendships and this time, organise a cruise to Norway, but I digress...

This restaurant appears to be value for money however the it’s not! Drinks are over priced and the portion sizes are extremely small....the portions in the photos shown in trip adviser are not what we received....we also wasn’t allowed to order any more untill all the plates had been eaten...the man hovered around our table and when I asked to order extra he said well finish that first!!! He also made comments throughout our meal of ‘I bet you are full up now’ the comment which really blew me away was ‘sorry you can’t order more of that because the restaurant is really busy and it will take time to cook it as other customers here’

We ate here last week, and it is indeed all you can eat buffet. The food was very tasty and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The alcohol prices are a bit steep , but you are in Windsor 315.80 each was well worth the money.

We love a good Chinese and by food standards... this was a good Chinese! The food was actually very very tasty! Hot and fresh!

We've been a few times,used to be good ,now below average ,Food portions very small.6 of us ordered starter plate and got 4 ribs ,1 slice of prawn toast ,4 pieces of very tough satay chicken ,nowhere near enough to go round , Then a plate pf duck with 1 pancake each ,,,really??? we had to ask for more twice .Then we all ordered a dish each for mains and rice. Got 1 bowl of rice between us all and very small plates of food . Don't waste your money people !!!

I’ve been going here for years with my family and it used to be really good, the food and service used to be excellent. Now the service is rubbish and the portions are smaller and not as good quality. They have all you can eat menu , they see you are in 4 but yet they bring you small portions so you have to keep asking for more , then you have to wait ages. If you order bottled water, they bring it open already , so no guarantee it’s not tap water. I asked for a closed bottle but I still got another opened one . One waiter has the cheek to come round round and say ‘ don’t waste’... I’m paying so I will leave whatever I like. Sadly after years of going here , we won’t be visiting again. Also it’s become very grotty and toilet- yes there is only one ladies toilet which is tiny-was filthy.

Food was great, and ask the waiting stuff about a few dishes that were not on the menu and they were more than happy to oblige. Service was great and the waiters could not do enough for you.

This place used to be so good and one of my favourites but had not been here for many years and when a colleague suggest meeting here for dinner was most eager to return.

Went here for the 1st time last night for a birthday meal. Was greeted by a waiter who had a face like a slapped behind. All throughout the meal he was rude and abrupt, to the point where it was making us feel uncomfortable. Got really busy and as is so small, became very loud. Cokes were flat. Wouldnt go back again. Have had much better food from other places, and get a more friendly service from my local takeaways! No highchairs. And they make it a big deal to let u know you CANT take away any food youve paid for, but not eaten at the end of the meal. Its on the menus clearly, and the waiter also points it out. Will not be returning

We enjoyed dining here, starters were great as was the duck and pancakes. Perhaps we were too full for the mains but appeared to be not as good and fairly salty. Would like to try again with different dish choices. The rice was inedible, all lumpy and stuck together. We changed it for noodles as really was very bad. Would recommend eating here, good value. Interior is very basic but didn't affect our experience.

It was a great meal and all freshly cooked to order! The staff were sooo friendly too! The Beef Satay was AMAZING!

Four of us enjoyed a delicious meal tonight with a great variety, which was hot when brought to our table. They even brought out a special individual portion of the chicken starter so my friend didn't miss out because she couldn't have the satay source in the mixed starters. Cannot fault the quality of the food, the level of service or the value for money.

Final visit. Been coming here for 20 years but not going back. Have previously left glowing reviews. Used to love this place but over recent years the attitude and service has gone to pot. Check out their wine menu for example. They've had Kanooga Hill Chardonnay on it for 10 years but NEVER had it in stock!! They now serve warm chardonnay and dispute it's warm then come up with lame excuse about their fridge not working. Hope the fridge they keep the food in is working. And the decor! They did give it a coat of paint a few years ago while it was still open for business. The worst decor in Windsor. They don't care. Sometimes the place is open in the afternoon, now usually it's not. They cater for a great deal of coach parties from the far east. They arrive en masse and are gone just as quickly. Otherwise the place is quiet and a shadow of it's former self. Pity. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from within yards. Their sister restaurant with a dance floor next door closed down about 10 years ago and never reopened. I see the building is currently being renovated but doubt it belongs to the Yangtse anymore.

Me and my family have been visiting this restaurant for about 30 years if not more..

I get a group of friends together each year on my Birthday and we have an excellent time partaking of their “eat as much as you like” menu and drinking Tsingtao beer. The food is always good and we don’t even have to order the starters and duck pancakes, the staff just bring them to the table and just take mains orders when we’re ready. They keep us topped up for drinks and are attentive. An icecream with a candle appears at the end of our meal and they sing Happy Birthday to the Birthday people. All great fun!

I’ve visited this restaurant every 3-6 months for the past 6 years for the all you can eat menu, I have noticed that the dishes are rapidly decreasing in size! We were given what can only be described as a saucer of each dish to share between 4 of us!

Been a couple of times and it's OK. Not the best of looking as a restaurant but staff are friendly and for £14.50 it's not bad value. You choose from menu and they cook fresh which is nice. Mixed in terms of taste.

This is my second review as I didn't say enough "good" things the first time. I have never been made to feel so welcome in any other restaurant and also my friends and family. Thank you Ying and all your staff for their help and great service. The food gets better and better - my favourite dish is Beef in Black Bean Sauce but..........all the "special" dishes especially the lamb are fantastic. I also like the fact that Chinese people eat here, its really worth a visit

We visited here midweek and it was so busy they were turning people away, but we had booked a table so were ok. The staff were very helpful and very pleasant, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the food quality is great as is the buuffet price.

Good was outstanding and great value. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Interior is shabby, but look past that as there is great food.

Food was mediocre, the real problem was the staff, very very rude . The expression the customer is always right does not apply here . when trying to order a drink I was literally pushed away and told to sit down, we was only trying to keep drinks off the final bill as we were a large party. When ordering my main the waiter told me to share with someone else who ordered the same thing , its supposed to be all you can eat . NEVER again . DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!

The restaurant decor isn't the most inviting / appealing but if you can get over that the food is good. It is £14.50 for all you can eat Chinese including crispy duck pancakes.There is a pretty broad selection to choose from and the restaurant is centrally located near the theatre and across the way from the castle.

My wife and I visited last night apart from being dirty!!!It was dark inside the staff were very rude and the food....... well we ordered the starters and in arrival the ribs were cooked/warmed up several times where they were dry and rubbery the batter on the smoked chicken was so crispy my teeth nearly cracked. Samosas instead of spring rolls asked for more chilli sauce and the waiter just came over with the bottle and refilled the chilli from a dirty gooey bottle. At that point we didn't risk staying for the main course so I asked for the bill up to that point and left. Sorry but we were regular users at this place and the standards have dramatically dropped and that's food and service.

Good Chinese food. Only do feast meals but it is reasonably priced and there is a good selection. Would not try going on a lunch time unless you book as they do quite a few coach party meals, evenings are quieter

6.30pm on a Friday evening - an after-work party for nine people. We were served straight away, with a variety of tasty starters. Service was friendly and efficient, even though the restaurant was busy with all tables full for some of the time. With a huge choice (50?) of dishes we ordered a range and shared. At the end of the meal we were all satisfied and delighted with the price of GBP17.00 each including tip.

The food here is fab, eat as much as you want and they bring it all out fresh and piping hot! The service was great, they were really friendly. Yes the decor inside is a bit plain but why's it matter when the food is absolutely great! Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends. Thanks for a lovely evening Yangtze!

An all you can eat restaurant without a buffett.....set price and selection of dishes for 3 courses served based on how many are seated at the table .......very hot and fresh .......keep ordering dishes until you are full......this restaurant caters to the bus loads of Chinese going through Windsor and the locals alike and can understand why it is so popular........aromatic duck ,beef with Szechwan sauce ,lemon chicken and won tun soup all very good.......service was prompt......

I took my daughter here for her first proper Chinese meal. Although on a Saturday night it was busy and we were advised to come back in 30 mins. Not a problem as I know how busy Windsor can get and especially on a weekend. Upon our return we had to wait an extra 5 mins but again I didn't mind. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was served quickly and was delicious. An excellent price for all you can eat off the menu and the food is really good. Between lessons from myself and the very helpful waiter who gave my daughter tips on how to use chopsticks she can now pick something up with confidence and without it flying across the room. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anybody in Windsor who fancies a Chinese meal. Great service, great all you can eat off the menu food and at a fair price.

This is the first waiter service buffet I've come across. You choose your dishes from a menu and the very attentive and friendly Vietnamese waiters bring it to your table. Saves all the pushing and waiting in queues. You can keep ordering dish after dish until your stomach is bursting for a reasonable fixed price of £14.50 plus 10% service charge. The food is really good. Yummy crispy duck and chicken satay sticks! Don't miss the beef Szechuan either. Only downside is that there are no deserts on the menu and the decor is very bland and basic. Get some ice cream in guys and you get five stars!

Had a great night at Yangtze with a large family get together. The service could not be better and the food was very good and tasty. I couldn't fault the restaurant in any way will visit again soon.

Visited on a sunday evening. Restaurant was full but there were plenty of attentive staff working and the food was served promptly. All the food was piping hot and tasty. We ate from the eat as much as you like menu and it was excellent value for the price. Overall very satisfied.

Good value for money for all you can eat. Service fast and friendly. Not the biggest selection in the world but plenty to choose from still. Lovely starters, duck and mains. No lamb dishes available and not much pork, but lots of chicken, beef, prawn and veggie options. The interior is a bit bland and not very inviting but don't let it put you off. For £14.50 all you can eat and half price for kids up to 12 years, you really can't go wrong! I will go again definitely!

A very busy little restaurant. It's not designed to wow you with its decor which is stark, but the food is good, very tasty and as much as you can eat. It's not a buffet, you are served by waiters and the menu is good with various choices to cover all pallets. But book it's very. Usually and by 8pm customers were queueing along the street.

The food here is very good, but the interior is scruffy and run down. A huge shame, as the location is great with wonderful views of the castle. If you enjoy Chinese food, then this is nice for lunch and dinner. The service is very good, and the staff are friendly.
