The Lobster Pot in Windsor and Maidenhead

Had 2 Chinese dishes and unfortunately both were fairly tasteless. Stick to the fish and chips which are v good.

Lunchtime specials are excellent.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a long time and regret not doing it sooner, I have been eating here for about 10 years it is hands down my favourite Chinese takeaway not just in Maidenhead but favourite I have ever had anywhere, nothing lives up to Lobster pot for me. Anyone I’ve introduced to Lobster pot absolutely love it and always want to go back. Their salt and pepper chicken bites are SO delicious (I order mine with no chilli and extra garlic), their prawn toast is thick and so full of prawns, their mixed starter is so great to try a bit of everything, honestly everything is so delicious, fast service, the food is always piping hot which I LOVE and it’s so affordable for the portion sizes. I wish they did delivery because I’d order this every week but as I don’t drive I come here sparingly since I’ve moved (maybe that’s a good thing or I would genuinely be the size of a house with the amount I like to order) I love it so much and hope it never changes🤍

This establishment is excellent value for quality chinese cuisine of the take-away variety, always tasty , hot and plenty of it - whatever dishes you choose. Highly recommended, never had a disappointing meal from The Lobster Pot. Telephone orders taken for pick up at your appointed time.

Pleasant fish and chip shop that also does Chinese

Every town has a hidden gem, and this is Maidenhead's. I found this takeaway on a friend's recommendation. Fairly hidden away in a residential part of town. The menu is massive. Service is great and amazingly fast, parking is easy, and most important of all the food is delicious. The best Chinese food and best chips in town, hands down.

The best chip shop to me the price is OK great choices and 10x better then the rubbish chip shop around the corner go to this one

They use the same utensils when handling vegetarian food that they use when handling meat products. Unacceptable when you are vegetarian. They need to be properly trained.

This chippy really excels. The fish and chips along with the usual variations are excellent. There is also a great demand for the Chinese meals. Prices have increased during the past 12 months but the meals are still excellent value.

Great fish and chip and good Chinese food. Update. Spring rolls have not got as much flavour as they used to. Chips were great as normal.

Parking is just a little bit limited apart from that everything else was wonderful.

Bought food here a week ago. Chicken balls made with old gristly chicken , and the beef eas very oily. A definite nose dive from 2 months ago. Very disappoin5ed as this was for a special occasion.

This place has been here as long as I can remember - since at least the 1970s, serving quality Chinese food and fish and chips. It has remained relatively unchanged in all that time, and is a dependable choice for a good meal, whether it be fish & chips or Chinese. Nice that it is open at lunchtimes too.

Great take away, parking can be challenging, even with the new resident parking behind the shop.

No matter whether you need Fish and Chips or a Chinese meal with all the trimmings, The Lobster Pot`s food is excellent in every respect, value for money portion size and taste. Pre-ordered food requesting a time to be picked up is ready on time, well served in excellent sealed dishes so it arrives home still piping hot. I Highly recommend this local take-away.

At the risk of being boring about the Lobster Pot , its' fish and chips are still the very best. I usually have chicken breast which is just as tasty as the fish. The staff are always friendly and the portions are excellent. Judging by the number of customers both for fish and chips and chinese food I am not alone in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Got a large chips and it was enough to feed 5! Possible in this place are HUGE! However, they do Chinese food here as well as fish and chips and sadly the Chinese food is somewhat bland.

It's OK. Tried fish and chips. Chips were nice but fish was normal. Oil was too dark.

Some months since I have been here due to recuperating after operations. I was instantly recognised and asked if I wanted 'my usual', which impressed me. The young lady at 'front of house' is always friendly. My order of chicken and chips had gone up by 30p but I didn't think that was a problem as the quality and quatity was still first class.

Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style,was uncooked and freezing cold in places,chow mein was greasy. I would never chance eating here again

I whole heartedly recommend Lobster Pot Maidenhead. Being an avid fan and consumer of salt and chilli chips, these guys produce the best salt n chilli in Berkshire and the best I have had out of at least 20 Chinese restaurants outside of Berkshire. If you haven't tried them, change your world.

My favourite takeaway, and the best Chinese takeaway in Maidenhead. Great quality food and very quick from phonecall to collection.

Our go to Chinese and fish and chips. The staff are absolutely lovely and especially so at the moment. Their food is always excellent and could not fault.

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The crispy chilli beef was a half portion of rubbbery beef with a watery greasy sauce and big batons of raw carrot it was so bad we threw it away. We will not be back.

Fish and chips are just as excellent as they were before lockdown. Social distancing with queues in the shop so waited outside. Friendly staff, good quality fish and chips at a reasonable price. What's not to like??

Strictly take-away. Cooked to order the fish and chips are just the best! Good value excellent quality and piping hot. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Great quality fish and chips or chinese favourites. The quality and quantity is excellent. The prices are good as well. The staff are always friendly and you rarely have to wait long for your order.

You'll queue at dinner time, but that's because the food is excellent and other people agree!

Quickly made food, even on a Friday night. We only waited 20 mins after placing a large order for a a family of 6-8 people. Tasty too.

Every other chippie I seem to visit keep their saveloys in a water bath which makes them mushy. The Lobster Pot don't which results in them having the texture of an actual sausage!! Chips are not greasy and taste great too.

This is a great chippy, perhaps the best in Maidenhead. It also does Chinese food, which you can order over the phone to collect; no delivery. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. Good prices for good quantities. Excellent.

Ordered the starter platter and everything in I t was deep fried - chicken satay, sesame toast and spring rolls - everything tasted of overused oil... the seaweed was full of sugar, I had never experienced that before... we then had noodles and sweet and sour chicken and these were mediocre too. I do not recommend this place!

Used to avoid this place like the plague but decided to go back after 8 yrs and was pleasantly suprised .. the chow mein was delicous with fresh veg and not too greasy very tasty .. the battered chicken were also very nice but not the best sweet and sour sauce around .. ill give it a thumbs up but still better take aways around the area

The best chips around, crispy outside/fluffy inside. Fish bites (goujons) are excellent alternatives if you don't want a whole fish. Personally I usually have the chicken breast quarter - scrummy!

Good Chinese but can be hit and miss don't even bother with the fish it's awful. But would recommend as Chinese not chip shop.

Went there recently and ordered chicken breast with chips. Had to wait a short time for the chicken to be cooked. Very busy, with people collecting their Chinese meals. My meal was pipping hot, well cooked and very tasty. The price is right as well. Service is fast and the staff are really nice.
