This is without doubt the best Chinese restaurant in the area - we have tried many different ones but always come back here, travelling from Henley on Thames and each time it is as good as the last.

Just fabulous. Really delicious food, with brilliant vegetarian selection. Lovely vibe and just the best host. The night we were there, there was a family celebrating who'd been going for 30 years, which says it all.

When I started looking for a Chinese restaurant I realised how few there were so I booked a table at the Peking Inn. From our arrival to the point we left, the staff were extremely helpful and very polite. The food was excellent and all freshly made. We will definitely return in the future.

Came here for my 22nd Birthday and loved the food + service! Unlike many other chinese restaurants we had been to, the food here felt much more authentic, and didn't seem like it had been dunked in an ocean of oil. Pricing was excellent, and we all left the restaurant feeling very satisfied with what we had paid for. 100% would go back a 2nd time, or even choose it as our new chinese takeaway spot :)

Service was incredible, they realised we had a birthday without us even telling them and treated us well. It was a bit quiet at the start and they could maybe play some music, but it isn't a problem, I'll be back again soon. Also very good food, especially the Singapore noodles and satay chicken dishes. This was a substantial online order and Pam was sensational in helping us. Our takeaway order was packed individually for everyone and was piping hot. It was ready for us to collect at 18:10. Everyone had such a delicious meal and Pam was highly communicative throughout and even checked in today to see if we enjoyed it! A brilliant restaurant with excellent staff. We will be coming again! Dinner for 6 to celebrate my wife's 80th birthday. Service, food and atmosphere were excellent, as always. Good range of choices on the menu. Highly recommend.

The manager doesn't know how to speak English and was very aggressive towards me and my family.

Visited on a Saturday evening 30 minutes after opening time and it was already buzzing, so booking is essential! Staff were very friendly, although wait times for some things were extended due to the number of customers. Food was of a very high quality, and the selection available in the set menu was extremely good. Can yet quite noisy due to the number of tables.

I have never faced with such humiliation and rudeness befor. We ( me and my son)  arrived to Cookham for 3 days as guests of Odney Club. One evening I decided to have dinner at this restaurant. My choice based on reviews and the variety of the menu. When we entered the restaurant, we were met by one of the staff. He immediately informed us that everything was fully booked and there were no seats. I asked if I could book a table for the next day. He took his notebook and began to write down my name. I pronounced it letter by letter, but he made mistakes and wrote my name incorrectly. It seemed, that he didn't understand me well, or had difficulty writing letters. Then he asked for my phone number. I began to pronounce, but I had a feeling that he did not understand me well again. I asked why he did not write down the number, but he had a misunderstanding and asked for the first digits several times. I asked him to write down digit by digit. He started arguing with me, expressing his doubts that I know my phone number well enough. In the end of the day he crossed out my name in his notebook and told us that he will not to make reservation for us. I asked to call the administrator. He replied that he is the administrator. I asked to call the boss, he replied that he is the boss. Thus, he threw me and my son out the door, depriving us of the opportunity to have dinner and refusing to register my reservation for the next day. I have never left negative reviews before. But today I could not ignore the discrimination and humiliation towards myself and my son for no reason.

Having lived in SE Asia for 6 years I'm pretty fussy with Chinese food in the UK. Always my go to Chinese restaurant in Buckinghamshire is the Peking Inn, Cookham. They never disappoint. Food and staff are excellent

Another fantastic evening at this iconic restaurant that has been in Cookham High Street for many years. The food is the best in the area and is consistently wonderful as is the polite, friendly and efficient service led by John and Pam. It is always a treat to come here!

Lovely and welcoming staff. Nothing was too much to ask and food was freshly made and delicious! We had my 13 year old daughter enjoyed all the dishes and are asking when we will be going back!

This is a fantastic Chinese restaurant. The staff are very welcoming and super efficient. The restaurant is super clean. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing making for a very comfortable evening out. The food was delicious and came out super quick with no delay. We had the great pleasure of spending the evening at The Chef Peking with a very last minute booking. The proprietors and all the staff discovered that it was our 20th Wedding Anniversary and treated us like their best friends. Nothing was too much trouble for them on a very busy evening. Each and every dish was excellent, of course, but it was the service, atmosphere and fun that everyone in the restaurant had that really made our night. The staff even brought us with their compliments special cake and ice cream with a stunning indoor firework at the end which topped it all off spectacularly. They even took and posed for pictures with the two of us and our little boy. It certainly was an evening that will live long in the memory and a quality Chinese restaurant that we would recommend highly to anybody within striking distance of Cookham and Maidenhead. Hopefully we’ll return very soon.

I had a wonderful birthday meal in May at the Peking Inn, with my husband & son. There were several birthdays that evening & we were all given a flaming fountain candle on a platter of ice-cream & meringues after our meals. We’ve been going there for many years & have never been disappointed. The best Chinese food in the area.

Not been here for a long time and no reason why, but glad we returned. Greeted with a lovely warm welcome, food was delicious and atmosphere really good, everyone seemed to be having a great time. Will definitely be returning more often and if we can get out, be great for takeaways which it also seemed very popular for.

After a discrepancy about the booking time, we were offered a complementary drink for the mishap. My mum left her handbag which the staff kept safe for us until collection, so we were very grateful. However, I am not happy that my number has been used to acquire a review. I called regarding the handbag, and am very particular about my privacy/data handling. The waitresses were friendly and the food was pleasant. Noodles a bit on the spicy side even for us.

Once again we had a fabulous meal with a great selection on offer. The service was exemplary and friendly with all of our requests catered for as always. If you fancy a Chinese meal anytime then this is the place to go.

Last night my wife and I went back to the Peking Inn in Cookham after an enforced absence thanks to the Cookham Bridge being closed for 5 months, our link across the Thames. As usual you couldn’t find more warm and welcoming staff in a restaurant anywhere. The restaurant is always spotless, well designed and nicely laid out in a prime position in Cookham High Street. We chose one of the set menus at very good value considering its a three course meal including tea or coffee too. The mixed starters of seaweed, ribs, chicken satay and mini pancake rolls were delicious. This was followed by Peking Duck with pancake rolls , the sauce was thick and rich and the duck had a really nice crunch to the skin. Then the main course if egg fried rice, chicken in black bean sauce, prawns with ginger and spring onion, sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style, mixed veg and beef. All scrumptious and completely eaten. We added a course of toffee bananas to go with our coffee with ice cream to round off an excellent meal. Throughout the meal the servers and managers came over to chat with us during which I mentioned we were celebrating my 70th birthday. Much to my surprise they immediately brought out an ice cream platter with a candle and flare in it singing happy birthday to me with all the restaurant joining inn. A memorable night! I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough hence the top marks.

No, no, just no. Going to the restaurant, 15 minutes after opening. About a quarter full. Told it would be an hour to get a very small take-away. I'm assuming the cooks didn't turn up, and the waiter needs to cook. There was no explanation or apology - just that a take-away would mean waiting an hour. I left, went to another local Chinese restaurant, and was served immediately.

I just love coming back to this restaurant! The food is superb and never ever disappoints, the staff are so friendly, helpful and food is always served quickly and is always hot and plates are always warm, I just wish I didn’t live so far away! 10 out of 10
