Love this place. We were a group of about 25. Food was delicious, however they did struggle with such a large group with the food service. A couple of the group got their food when most of us were finished eating. But we understood and we still had a lovely time. Would like to give a shout out to Will behind the bar, so friendly and every time I went to the bar he acknowledged me straight away. Chatted while serving and went above and beyond. Also a shout out to Ruby who was also friendly and helpful, and made us feel so welcome. Will definitely be back.

The food was tasty and the service was good. I would have given more stars but for two problems. 1) We were overwhelmed by the awful pink lighting. 2) The food came with vast servings of carbs such as enough potatoes for a large family’s Sunday dinner. Apart from being unhealthy, this is such a waste of food as most people couldn’t possibly manage all that. Instead of just a spud mountain, it would have been lovely to have maybe a few carrots and something green.

Bad experience unfortunately. Table was booked however no table available for us, was asked to sit at the bar to have our lunch. Staff advised we could have extra sides for our inconvenience however one that we wanted there was non left of. They were very apologetic and friendly throughout it though, seemed to be a genuine error and hey everyone makes mistakes. Bar tables we sat at were uncomfortable, but the icing on the cake was my partner ordered pork and they gave him gammon, we advised this wasn’t what he ordered and they said they’d taken pork of the menu. When we ordered the pork they advised there was no crackling left not that there was no pork left. Hubby was not happy and just spoilt the experience. If it’s off the menu then update your menus A bad day for us, food was pleasant but clearly a bad day in terms of service and availability in both service and food. I have been previously and the soup was more of a thick chowder, actual gunk in a bowl. After I didn’t eat any of it they did not charge me as they could see it was not fit to eat, after that they removed the availability as other customers were asking for it throughout our meal. Benefit of the doubt was given and today was meant to be redemption but didn’t turn out that way. As we where sat at the bar (where clearly people don’t eat as there is a full restaurant) we were getting no level of service for drinks so after we finished up we went to the bar to pay and walked out. It’s a shame as the food is lovely when you catch them on a good day but unfortunately we won’t be back as it seems to be hit and miss.

This is a must do restaurant. The food and service is superb. We had crispy belly pork and pate for starters, couldn't fault it, very tasty and the right size portions. For main we had peppercorn chicken and chicken stuffed with cheese and haggis with a whisky sauce. Both beautifully cooked, chicken wasn't dry and very tasty. If you like a drink, I'm sure we all do, they have a excellent cocktail menu. The restaurant is very clean and the staff very professional and polite. All the staff seem to enjoy working there and nothing is too much trouble for them, just ask and I'm sure they'll do their best for you.

Positive first of all. Lovely atmosphere, staff really friendly and attentive. Negatives my husband’s pasta was cold. Not a fussy eater so he did eat it. He asked for vinegar for his chips and this was brought in a Sarsons bottle with screw top lid and you had to put your finger over the top to dispense the vinegar. Also a minor point when we have been in the past the liquid soap in ladies has been good quality. This time it was in plastic containers from Lidl. I feel that little things like this could determine whether you would return. Incidentally we have just been to a local pub for lunch and they had nice little vinegar dispensers and the soap in ladies was Ashton & Moore.

Having visited here many times we were so looking forward to nice food and a catch up with friends together. However, that wasn't to be. There was a singer performing and not only was she a poor singer but she was so loud, to the point of shouting. I have no issue with a singer in a restaurant but we couldn't hear each other speak which spoilt the whole purpose of visiting. We had the same main course each of seafood pasta but both woke up with an upset stomach today. Overall really disappointing 😞

First visit to this restaurant for me, there was a two course special with good choice and great value for money £18.95. We ordered from the main menu two of us chose prawn and lobster pasta, my other two friends had surf and turf risotto / chicken with haggis. Cocktails are on offer at £13 for two, i chose the Aperol which was lovely. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, cocktails and dessert. Staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and attentive. First visit won’t be the last.

We went here tonight for my Fiancé's birthday today. Well all I can say is WOW! Lovely place, amazing food, lovely atmosphere and definately go back. I had Caprese salad to start followed by King prawn & lobster linguine pasta. Delicious. Fiancé had Trio of cheeses followed by main of Haggis and cheddar stuffed chicken. He said is was all delicious too. Look forward to next time when hopefully we can manage dessert as portion were very good. Only down side is the lack of alcohol free drinks. Only choice was Peroni zero and Heineken zero. Neither of which I drink so coke it was.

We chose to book Wyvestowes for a family meal after our quiet wedding ceremony. I can honestly say we had the loveliest day. From originally booking and speaking to George we knew we were in good hands. The staff, the food and the service were all amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for this lovely, happy friendly team who all created such a buzzing atmosphere. I think it says a lot about a restaurant when staff all seem to be very happy in their workplace. Such a lovely place to eat or just chill out with a drink on the terrace. 😊

Fine overpriced dining, had mixed cheese starter which was very small and consisted of three tiny pieces of mozarella, humus and chilli jam. The starter was lovely but tiny. Had the main which was salmon pasta which again was nice but not a great amount of salmon and lots of pasta which was slightly undercooked

Not a great deal of parking but the food, coffee and service was first class, costs are very reasonable.

Have had several meals here in the past and never been disappointed. The food is a big cut above normal pub fare with many interesting combinations. It has a quirky atmosphere with staff who are unfailingly friendly and helpful..
