Ideal place for reasonable priced drinks. Service quick and friendly staff. Toilets are clean. No food on offer midweek but Sunday Carvery available.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem after leaving disappointed from pub next door. Lovely place a lot bigger than it looks. Great value drinks and warm welcome

Really impressive dining experience. This is a Weymouth’s hidden gem. Great food and service with a very warm welcome. I was particularly impressed with the general condition of the toilets. They were comparable to a 3* hotel (or 4 AA rosettes) at the very least. It was welcoming to non-working men. I haven’t held down a full time job since the late nineties.

Where else can you go on a Sunday and enjoy fresh veg quality roast meats from the carvery cooked by a quality chef and all for £7 per adult? It's decor is as to be expected on a working mens club, however its food and prices is truly a hidden gem.

What can i say but what a great carvery Best £7 spent the food is excellent every time we've been it's been top-notch and makes many places that charge fortunes look pretty shabby and there are quite a few down that way that do very poor food! But this is a little hidden gem and everyone is welcome so open to all not just WRWM club.It feels so homely their staff are excellent.Everything is home cooked even the deserts which are yum!found one real gem the pork rind is cooked separately with sesame seeds awesome something really special to taste.Veg is done right also also have a choice of Gravy and sauces.you get the Choice of three meats they do vary types sometimes.Roast Pots and the yorkies are done right. As i said best cash you can ever spend and ive eaten in likes of the Ritz and other places in london but this is better.

A great experience once again. 5th time at The Avenue and it never fails to deliver first class food and service. The students are a credit to the college. Their enthusiasm and attention to detail make the experience a real pleasure. We thoughally enjoyed the lunch and experience as usual and can't wait to return in the very near future.

Mixed review: A warm and friendly welcome, clean and tidy. Day one: breakfast was lovely, all appeared freshly cooked so it took a little longer, the food was nice and of great value. Feel like there was a whole can of beans for the 'beans on toast' and it was piping hot. The pot of tea was plentiful The 'coffee' milkshake was more like warm milk, not the best. Day two: ordered the thick shake this time - meant to be with ice cream and so thought that would make it cooler and tastier - wrong, it was the same as the previous visit with cream and sprinkles - not the best (if you want a nice thick iced coffee, visit the White Stones cafe). The food took a bit longer again as it was Sunday and busy. The mushroom on toast was cold but we were on a time crunch, so we couldn't send it back. The taste was nice, just cold and the black pudding was a bit on the rubbery side. Everyone else enjoyed theirs.

We stopped by Portland as tourists from the USA. We got a scone, slice of cake, and two coffees, and they were some of the best we’ve had in Europe! The staff were friendly and helpful too.

Easily accommodated 8 of us on a busy wet day. Great breakfast all around, milkshakes amazing. Service friendly and speedy. Can’t get better value.
