Now run by the Godfather and the chips are as good as Alfs used to be. The rest of the food is inconsistent .

every time i visit there closed for some reason,waste of time trying to go there

A superb fish and chip shop. We visited last week whilst in the area. The large cod was massive and contained perfectly white fish. I would recommend and visit again.

What a great fish and chip shop! Great prices. Went on a Wednesday evening and there was a que of locals at 6 pm. Great food and staff extra nice. Prices good too. Not over priced like some more hyped!

Nice fish and chip shop, they do a small gluten-free range including chips, fish and sausage. It's worth a visit and generous portions.

Cod and chips was decent. Kids had kebab meat that smelt a bit cheesy some reason but they said it tasted fine. Curry sauce tub could do with being a bit bigger.

Foods ok, expensive fish not great, should do big fish cakes. service good but need more staff at busy time, gets over crowded when more than few waiting coul do with high stools for long waits.

While staying at littlesea campsite, we decided to give Alfs a try instead of the onsite Chippy, which is expensive and not the best portion wise. What a great decision that turned out to be! We had a large Cod with large chips ( nice crispy batter, flaky fish and great portion.) Double fish cake, regular chips and a large curry sauce ( standard chippy fish cake, nice and hot, fruity curry sauce, good portion). Also a side order of a fish cake and sausage for the Boy, who shared some of the regular chips. All this for just over £28, which isn't overly expensive. We will definitely be returning when next in Weymouth and would highly recommend. Cards accepted. Quick service and cooked to order. Polite, efficient lads serving and frying. 10/10.

After an arduous drive to Weymouth from the midlands today (25th March), to Little Sea Haven site. Once we’d got settled in to our caravan we just wanted to grab something quick and easy, so we called into Alfs Fish & Chip shop. The premises might look dated, BUT DONT let this put you off, we had four cod & chips and two curry sauces, and the quality of the ingredients and the cooking of them were sublime, a rarity that a chippy nowadays can cook the batter on the fish. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this chippy, go in, order you’ll love it

We were staying locally and after a long and tiring day a fish supper was our reward. We had the senior special which was much bigger than anticipated. The chips were the nicest we have had for a very long time. Highly recommend.

Visited here on the 8th March 2024. Ordered two pieces of fish and regular chips. Food looked like it needed the oil changed and my fish was swimming in grease and tasted awful. Fish cost £6.60 each and regular chips were £3.20 each. Won't be visiting here again.

Visited here on a short break to Weymouth. Glad we came away from the front strip to visit this place based on the reviews. Five mins in the car parked back up on the beach front and enjoyed these.

Had fish and chips twice from Alf's fish and chips, one of which was gluten free. Food was very good and my partner tells me the gluten free one was one of the best she has ever had. Great to see that someone can actually produce really tasty gluten free food. Well done Alf's !

We always come here if we're staying in the area. They even managed 30 plus meals delivered to my son's wedding venue! Excellent food.

Nice fish. But since jon left its gone down hill fast, over priced and just a very gloomy shop. very slippery floor on customers side. Must be fatty grease on the floor. Needs a very good clean up inside this shop

We had haddock for the fish, which was super fresh, perfect saltiness, batter not too thick so it was crispy but not oily at all. A huge piece of fish for £6.30, money well worth. Chips were for £3.20. One of the best fish and chips, better than those I had at a famous chippies in Mayfair London! Staff were super friendly.

After rock climbing on Portland we stopped here for fish & chips as we drove through Weymouth. A good sized portion and freshly cooked. Very tasty and good value too.

I visited this chippy based on previous reviews,,even.though.its out of the way in.weymouth 2 miles from sea front but the previous reviews are over a year old and I guess the business has changed hands ...you definitely don't get large over filled portions .. because portion control is governed by the container your meal is served in ...i.bought a regular chips ...the portion was regular but the price was £3.20 ....£3.20 for chips baring in mind you can buy ... 3kgs of potatoes for £3 ..and yes even in this recession and food price hikes ...it's still £3 for 3kgs enough potatoes to fill a suit case ...but this outlet is still charging £3.20 for a very average ...portion of dried out chips ..these chips were definitely not fresh but had been sat waiting for some time ....i.will post pic for you judge but for me ...never again. .

Good varied menu. Prices reasonable infact think best prices in the area.

Compared to all the Chip shops in Town this is good quality at a decent price . Gluten free option was really big and tasty. Save money and drive somewhere else to eat them!

Amazing fish and chips! The haddock was lovely, very crispy batter and tasted delicious too! The chicken portion was lovely too, a very large piece with lots of meat on. We didn’t have to wait very long for our food and it was piping hot when we got back to the caravan. The prices are great too, very reasonable. Would definitely go back when in Weymouth!

As always great fish and chips but it’s not the same now alf’s gone. It’s been a few years now but remember coming here as a kid. New signage is nice and service is good but it’s not the same. But food is really good

Had scampi and chips freshly prepared. Ample succulent pieces of scampi with a decent portion of chips all for £6.90. Next time will go for the large haddock and chips offer at £9.50. Should be good.

At 30 minutes notice this week, Alf's produced our 11 person order, only two meals of which were the same, for pick-up. It was exactly as ordered. That Alf's does gluten free too is essential for us. Not the most expensive either. Superb service.

First time visiting after my grandad telling me he visited many years ago. Absolutely fantastic variety of food and great at advising me what I could eat with allergies. Definitely will be coming back next year. Great portion sizes too 🐟🍟

I've been to many fish & chip shops over many years, but I must say the service was so pleasing and the food was absolutely lovely and very fresh . I highly recommend if your in Weymouth.

Lovely meal all freshly cooked large portions and reasonably priced.

Fish was freshly prepared and the batter light and crispy. The chips were good, but such large portions that we had enough for the next night... we popped them in the oven and they were even better 2nd time round! We liked that they bother to ask how much salt/vinegar etc you want, instead of just drowning your food in the stuff.

Came in alfs chip shop we had four kiddie cones of chips the chips were hot and very tasty , the gravy was delicious, wanted to pop back Sunday but unfortunately was shut but this is a very clean run chip shop with very friendly staff , if on littlesea site come here you won’t be disappointed, will be back July ,,

Came here whilst on a business trip to Weymouth. Have to say, absolutely amazed by the scran proper nice. The best part was the outstanding staff. Went on Tuesday 12th April at 5 o'clock in the afternoon and there was a handsome young fella with blacky brown hair and a sexy mullet. He was a man of dreams and helped me immeasurably with my order thanks alfs.
