Marlboro Restaurant in Weymouth and Portland

This wasn’t for me. However I’m glad I tried it. It’s definitely unique and over all a great experience. Would recommend because they are the best in town and it’s always great to try the local favorite if anything just for the experience.

Definitely, recommend going on an empty stomach portions are huge the fish is gorgeous be prepared for some wastage from little ones and blown up bellies. Best fish and chips and curry sauce me and my mum was very happy 😊.. 5***** definitely will be back again .

Very efficient for fish chips take away. Fish (cod) tastes good, chips can be a bit more crispy. The proportion is huge, we got small proportions for both cod and chips, and could not finish the chips.

We stayed at Haven Seaview Holiday Park and ordered for delivery using the Just Eat app. The food was lovely, one of the nicest pieces of fish I've had in a long time, and the battery was great, light and munchy!

You can see why this place is usually always busy packed out once you start munching on your 1st order 😋 I highly recommend this place for our national dish. Eat in or take away. Mmmmmm tasty as

We were in Weymouth and the normal fish and chip shop we normally use was closed. I went into the the Marlborough on the Sunday we arrived and I was greeted by young boy's with attitude. I told my husband we're not going there. We then read the review's and my husband said let's just give it a go and we're so glad we did it was really nice and the restaurant was busy but we had takeaway would visit again.

Great chippy close to the harbour. Get yourself some lunch and enjoy the views

Held my daughters birthday party here and I can only say that the staff service and food was amazing everyone was so accommodating and just all round brilliant nothing was too much trouble they went above and beyond so a huge thank you. I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone I know thank you again.

Best fish and chips in Weymouth with great staff and service

Love the food but very expensive. Would use a lot more often but I refuse to keep paying £5.70 for jumbo sausage and chips. Shame everyone these days seems to be out to rip you off. I understand overheads etc but come on!

Not great food. I was surprised because I had been told it was great. Sausage barely cooked. Undercooked pie bottom. But overcooked top. Chips way, too soft. Very disappointing batter. Friendly service though.

As fish and chips go this isn't your average place ! Located not far from the Rex hotel, the restaurant offers the nicest fish and chips I've eaten in a long long time. Portion sizes are spot on , I didn't leave feeling hungry or bloated. The fish and chips were cooked brilliantly, not greasy at all. Service is fantastic, staff are extremely nice and nothing is any trouble. It's great that there is an area to sit and eat with good space . Price for everything we had isn't bad I've had less for more . We came back two days in a row because we liked it so much . Will definitely visit again when we return.

As places go it wasn’t bad. I’ve had the US version of fish and chips and they aren’t the same! The portions size was great as was the price. The chips were nothing like the slender American fries. It blew my mind! I had to give the place two thumbs up. Service was friendly, fast and professional. The place was clean and cute. Enjoy your meal and a refreshing walk about the harbor. It was indeed a great day.

I had cod and chips from here a few weeks ago while it in town with friends and will be returning. Simply the best, really tasty, freshly prepared and quickly produce despite the thankfully fast moving queue. I have lived in Weymouth my whole life and have always regarded the Marlboro as the best in town but I have strayed lately purely out of convenience, My return confirmed, not only the best in town, but possibly the best I've ever had.

The only place to eat fish & chips! We have been using these guys for years every time we are in town and they are by far the best!

For many many years it was always lovely jubbly .. and no surprise, 6 years later, it's still lovely jubbly, smiley people waiting on us completed our visit. Beautiful fresh cod and generous helping of chips, all cooked to perfection and served up quickly.

What an absolute shame, this used to be arguably the best in the southwest, they used to cook in lard and the taste was phenomenal. Just been in for a sit down meal and what a disappointment :( now cooking in cooking oil and it tastes as bland as everywhere else. I live in lyme regis and used to travel just for their chips. Such a shame. Please change it back it used to be awesome!!!!

Food (would have been) really good, seemed fresh and served promptly. Reasonable value. Going to cut to the chase - I really don’t understand the need for what turned out to be sugar (not salt) shakers on the table next to the vinegar of similar size. I’m sure it’s just a quirk and I’m out of touch but sweet fish and chips are not the one. Does seem a very bizarre idea.

We’ve used the takeaway for a number of years as the food is always fresh and very tasty. The staff are always pleasant. You can’t beat good fish and chips at the seaside!

Visited last night for first time. It was really good, we both had a large cod and chips , and was really large and loads of chips. Hot and freshly cooked. Very nice waitresses, friendly and fast. Bit concerning were the two skeletons sat at table lol must have had a long wait, Will definitely visit again soon.

Our second visit here and very good this time round too. Very happy with our meal. Dining room a little cramped but friendly service and great fish.

Hubby had large cod and chips, I had chicken bites and chips with mushy peas.. was busy when we went but the staff were very quick at cleaning the tables and getting people in so they didn't have to wait long.. food was fab.. just the right amount of chips, all fresh and hot.. not greasy like some chip shops.. hubby loved his fish.. just the right amount of batter.. only disappointment was they forgot the dip for my chicken bites but I enjoyed them just the same! Would definitely come again if we're ever in Weymouth again!

Great fish. Chips were okay, but perhaps a bit anaemic. Deep fried mushrooms were fantastic, but quite a lot for one person; best for sharing.

Just a portion of chips for my Granddaughter after following the French company Transe Express and its parade show Poupées Géantes. I had a few of her chips, just as good as always!!

Fresh fish cooked perfectly in a crispy batter. My wife and I had the haddock which was generous and flaked beautifully. Its at the harbour lifting bridge and well worth searching out.

The Best Fish 🐟 and Chips 🍟 in Weymouth

Wow we tried alot of chip shops on our visit but this is by far the best.The chips are crinkle cut and by far the best of all we tried if you love something traditional and the fish and sausage and so many other things and sauces were great and the menu has lots more to offer , the service is lightning fast and the prices so reasonable...please don't change your great 👍

The food is always good here but like with any fish n chips, it's better to eat it in the restaurant or nearby on the harbour wall, otherwise it goes soggy. They often have huge queues and the food is very fresh.

My all time favourite chip shop / seaside restaurant. I don't visit much due to it being 3 hours away from my house. When I'm in town I make a beeline for the place. My friends & family are bored stupid of me talking about the fishcakes. The chips are fantastic as well. On top of the great food, I've always found the service to be the best in the South West.

We cannot praise the Marlboro highly enough. Lauren and her team provided THE BEST fish and chips for over 100 guests at our wedding on at the Sailors Return on Saturday. We received two sittings with timings absolutely spot on. All the food was piping...

Was recommended by our host, lucky to get a table immediately as no booking system. My Wife loved her Saveloy chips mushy peas and pickled egg. I loved my faggots chips and mushy peas. Just about finished it! Very efficient friendly staff.

Always a yummy delight! If the que is out the door up the road or just in the doorway, make sure you stop because you'll never be disappointed with the delicious chippys and fantastic friendly service.

Been coming here for decades, since I was a small kid. One of the best fish n chips in Weymouth, and that’s why there is always a big queue outside. Food is always well prepared and fish is excellent.

Everything we had was very tasty, and also good value for eating inside. The fish was huge, the peas were lovely, and the crinkle cut chips were great. Next time we come to Weymouth we will definitely come back here.

The best fish and chips I have ever eaten an absolute treat. Small cafe style eating area and the staff went above and beyond to look after us. There was a queue but was well worth the wait. Highly recommend stopping by if you get the chance 👍
