A tasteless fish and chips.. dry chips... had to fight to get a mug of tea. The outer kitchen (where the teas and coffees are made) looked in great need of a high pressure hose... The young woman that took our order was short, fat and spotty, totally unsmiling and dedicated to being unhelpful... grumpy and snappy when asked a direct question.. My partner ordered a salad.. a bland and tasteless salad. We were allowed mugs for our tea at the third time of asking... one was dirty.. What a disaster!

Today myself and a friend spontaneously took a trip to Wyevale Garden Centre to pick up a few small house plants as we have recently found ourselves as first time home owners. Whilst browsing for house plants, we were approached by Cathrine. My friend and I have no experience with keeping house plants so were very grateful for her help. What stood out to us the most about Catherine was her extensive knowledge and her kindness when helping us both. She was incredible! We both felt like she really wanted to be there helping us and in turn ended up buying plenty of new plants. Her approach to customer service was second to none! It was fantastic to meet such a helpful and kind lady!

We called in to the cafe after a trip to hospital at about 1.30 pm. It was quite busy, mostly over 60's, like us and mothers with small children. I had Hunter's chicken and husband had steak pie. The person taking the order was polite and helpful & the service for the first course was fast. Food was tasty (chips not very hot) and there was plenty of it. We had Earl grey tea and were even offered a slice of lemon. Waited a little while for the second course but I suppose we could have asked. We took advantage of a special over 60's offer and had 2 courses and a cup of tea for under £20 for two -good value for money. Will visit again

We hadn't been to the café here for quite a while, so as we popped in for a few bits last Sunday afternoon, we thought we'd give it a try.Our first impressions were that there was a distinct lack of supervision. One young lad was all on his own behind the counter battling with the coffee machine, while the queue was increasing by the second!! Meanwhile, two other lads were aimlessly sweeping up around people who were eating and drinking & obviously getting annoyed at dust being swept onto their food & drink - really??? Why weren't they told to sweep up later when customers had gone & help the poor lad behind the counter who, by this time, was snowed under??By the time we were served, he was visibly flustered, all fingers & thumbs & things were going badly wrong. The coffee machine was obviously malfunctioning, we paid for our scones & lattes by card - the card machine had run out of paper & he couldn't give us a receipt - what???My husband insisted on a receipt & the lad got a piece of paper to write the amount on & then he couldn't find a pen that worked!!This is disgraceful & not the fault of the young lad serving but the fault of the management - booze ups & breweries came to mind!!!The scones & lattes were fine but the Manager/Superviser should definitely up their game, as there are plenty of competitors in the area just waiting to welcome their customers!!

Went with parents to grab a coffee and breakfast. Started queing at 11.10 and didn't get served till gone half 11. There was one person on the till and a big big long que. Ended up getting served at 11.40 and they said that breakfast menu was over. We explained that we had been waiting for over half hour but they didn't care. We then decided to have lunch menu and we ordered chips garlic bread and a sandwich with a tea and coke. We then paid and five mins later the chef came out and said they had no garlic bread. Even though considering we had paid for it all they said they would give us an extra portion of chips instead. Shocking service. We received the food. Sandwich was nice but apart from that the rest was shocking. Chips was hard and they had cheese on them even though we didn't ask for cheese. There was hair in the tea and it was all such a disappointment as was looking forward to a nice breakfast there. Will not be returning to this cafe ever.

Arrived at 9.30 Easter Saturday to find the Restaurant half full with children enjoying an esster treat so found a table at the far end. Was told there would be a long wait as there only appeared to be two members of staff present. Just after sitting down there was a terrible racket of barking , fighting and general dog noises. It turned out that they are allowing the pet shop franchise to hold puppy socialising in a pen right by the restaurant. After waiting 30 minutes for breakfast and trying to shout a conversation with my friend we both vowed never again. Food good and an initial warm welcome, but things turned sour! Three of us met for lunch; a good selection of food and drinks - we ordered 2 jacket potatoes and a toasted sandwich. A few minutes later we were told there was only one potato left! However they offered wedges with a tuna salad for one, or choose something else from the menu. I chose the former, and both potato dishes were appetising BUT no toastie arrived. A reminder a few minutes later prompted a waitress to go into the kitchen...but still no toastie came, so a further reminder... When it finally came it had clearly been reheated and was almost burnt rather than toasted. The replacement was thrust onto the table (no smile, no apology) just as the potato dishes had been eaten!

Thought we would give breakfast a whirl and we were glad we did! Bacon tasted like bacon, a good sausage and the little round hash brown was the best we had ever had. Didn't quite get the concept of the baked beans in a bowl (more to wash up) but we managed. The only criticism was from my husband - why can't it go on a bigger plate instead of making him struggle? We would be happy to return and eat the breakfast again. The young lady with the pony-tail who served me (I am ashamed to say I have forgotten her name - but she will know whom I am talking about) is friendly and helpful and a credit to Wyevale. It was revolting. Grey defrosted thigh trimmings in powdered sauce. And of two sides of chips only one arrived . We had to repeat requests for cutlery and never got glasses of tap water.
