Myself and group of friends (all women) were walking past this place to get our second drink of the evening, chatting amongst ourselves. One of the doormen felt the need to try and join in with our conversation to be controversial, as though goading us for a reaction. No one spoke to him or even looked at him in our group - none of us were drunk or cared remotely about what he had to say. However I imagine he ends up causing a lot of grief for his colleague doormen and probably the local police too, if he’s spending his evenings trying to start arguments with random people walking past this place!

Now that Karooze is serving Food, it’s even better than before, and before was amazing too !! Always welcomed when I visit this Pub, and Terri is a lovely lady, who is always smiling. And she lets me bring my little special needs Dog, Charli so she’s One in a Million !! The rest of the Karooze Staff are also lovely, but I don’t remember all of their names. So a Big Thank you to all. 💐🌟🌺

I love this Pub ! My friends and I meet here most weeks, and the Staff go out of their way to provide Customers with an enjoyable experience ! The American lady is kind and very welcoming. I regularly take my little Chihuahua x Toy poodle in there and she always has a cuddle with him. My friends and I know we can go in there and have a relaxing drink. Also a great place to enjoy a Coffee in the afternoon. I don’t like strong Coffee and the Staff have no problem making it to my taste. And you can Vape during the day. What more could you ask for !!

A lovely Pub and Cafe situated in the Town centre. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and you can sit and enjoy a pint, or chat with friends over a cup of coffee. Love this place because I can take my little dog, and he’s made welcome too. My go to Pub, where I can sit in peace and watch the World go by. Toilets are nice and clean, and the atmosphere is one of happiness and contentment.

Spent the afternoon here with friends, and the atmosphere was great. Very friendly staff, making us feel welcome. Lovely comfy armchairs, and reasonably priced drinks. Had a great time, and will definitely be coming back in the near future. Thank you Ben for making our afternoon an enjoyable one. I gave 4 Stars because the Toilets needed some attention. Apart from that a great experience.

This is really a bar in the evening but they offer coffee and scone or coffee and teacake for only £1.50 which is exceptionally good value. No other food offered.

What to say about this place? Playing a melange of grubby, urban tunes that resonate around the groin area, it is a place to miss in Bury St Edmunds.....

Drinks are pretty cheap but the dance floor was very small and aggressive guys. Bouncers were very pushy and rude!

It's pretty much the only place to go after eleven o'clock, and now they've stopped all the proper scum bags going in it's turning into a nice little bar. The chap that owns it is an arrogant, insufferable tool and best avoided, but Mark the bar manager is a star. I'm liking the fact they've spent a few quid doing it up too, it look s a lot less dingy now.

I have only been here on a night out at the weekend of which I have found it to be quite a grubby place. You stick to the floors a bit from where they are that sticky. I also find the drinks to be quite pricey. It is not a very big place so when it is busy it is very hard to get past people and there is lots of shoving. However I did enjoy the range of music played. There is no enterance free therefore it is worth going in there to have a look, as if you decide to leave it has not cost you anything.

Don't get me wrong, this establishment is far from classy but is certainty not a dive! During the day it is a cafe where you can grab a coffee and read the newspaper or watch the tv. Between morning to evening it is often a peaceful and quiet place where the older generation like to go to relax or meet friends. As for the evening, I can't personally speak but have seen that it gets more club like i suppose, but having walked past late a few nights it always seems busy so they must be doing something right! The only thing which I would change is perhaps the manner in which the staff seem. They seemed to have all got out of bed and can be almost rude.

Karooze is the wart on the backside of Bury St. Edmunds and consists of a clientele and staff that have an asbo count greater then their collective IQ. There are plenty of vibrant bars in Bury St Edmunds and its nightlife has a great deal to offer but this is to be avoided at all costs.

There are great places to go in Bury St Edmunds. Interesting, original establishments that strive to innovate and excel. Karooze is the polar opposite, a dreadful place staffed by indifferent stressed out staff (who look like they need a good scrub!) and all swamped by terrible music. I regretted going the moment I stepped through the door and it seemed the staff, particularly a surly large woman behind the bar, seemed to regret the fact they had customers. I can't put it any more plainly than avoid this place at all costs.

A while since our last visit, great to find the car park relaid and the place spruced up. Fantastic place for fish&chips (they let me substitute fries too), for £11 wasn’t expecting a giant fresh perfectly battered cod - best had in ages. Bumped into some neighbours who’d also made the journey to seek it out. Lovely decor and welcoming landlord and staff! We will be back and not leave it so long!

5 out of 5, lovely lunchtime meal with family, 2 lasagnas and 2 steak and ale pies, everything was homemade and thoroughly delicious, portion sizes were very large, excellent value for money would highly recommend. Will definitely return for more
