Tesco Cafe in St Edmundsbury

I'm not sure how you can turn up to Tesco's cafe before it opens when your food delivering it's cold. How can it be cold? You're better off going to the burger van on Holland road. At least the food hot absolutely! Revolting

I was served by a lovely lady called mira ( I think ) she was lovely excellent customer service was happy chatty and very helpful I'd give her 10 out of 10 unfortunately the blonde lady who was incharge who publicly had a go at her infront of customers can't cook an egg for toffee was rock hard !! 0 out of 10 for her !

Order for delivery. Awful! It took nearly 2 hours for a panini and a bagel. We ordered after the lunch time rush (14:15) and it arrived at 16:00. Now cold and bland, just tasted of bread. Will never order again.

Don't appreciate dirty looks when I ask for a bit more milk

Hasn’t changed since I last left a review in 2019. Ordered breakfast and when it came the egg is only what I can call slop. The toast wasn’t even toasted on one side. I complained and new egg was brought also new toast which again was only toasted on one side. As I said last time, this cafe could be a nice little earner but lack of staff and uninterested people doing the serving makes it a no go. Just wondering if any of the management reads these reviews. Saffron Walden branch knocks spots off of Haverhill.

Staff was friendly but under alot of stress not any staff and low on food and drinks . I had to asked for my table to be cleaned. Which he did do. My pot of tea had clearly had a broke tea bag but didn't know until the last cup. Otherwise all ok

Really lovely time having cuppa with my hubby ,daughter and son in law.great lattes and pots of tea,,very friendly staff excellant service.

Fries okay, chicken strips old, two tablespoons of coleslaw .

Totally a waste of time and money. Rude staff. oredered a breakfast to say possibly the worst breakfast I have ever witnessed is a understatement! Then topped off by under qualified rude staff.

No food available, tables dirty. Heard recently that Tesco are closing their cafe's so maybe that's why!

All I did was move the eggs, so can show what I was served. They even did not cut the toast with knife, but just split it with hands. No butter, it is impossible to bite this hard toast and didn’t really want to taste it to be honest, so just gave it back. This is a joke with your Clients. Not the first time I am having bad experience here and always hope that next time will be better.

I’ve had to pop to Haverhill to get my laptop fixed and whilst I wait I thought I’d have brunch at Tesco, was not expecting much to be honest but chose the chorizo Breakfast Eggs! Wow for just over £5 this is just perfection - the staff were friendly and helpful too and you could tell they had good relationships with the customers that were obviously regulars and I can see why! This marched many of the high end eateries I’ve been in and my own - I will be back with my mum xx

I popped in on a sunday morning(18/7/2021)for a fry up and couldn't have been more happy. The 2 young ladys who were working were very polite and well spoken. My food came out in good time and tasted so good, the hash browns were perfect. Well done. I definitely recommend this cafe.

Moody woman serving. I dont blame her as she was doing everything herself but everything was a bit rushed and rubbish. Paper cups for drinks only as dishwasher broken. Had to wait for a receipt as she was putting breakfasts on. Didnt see any hand washing in between... Poached eggs came out quickly but absolutely solid. Quite impressive you can get them that hard so quickly... A shame as cafe itself could be nice.

Visited the cafe before doing my shopping as missed breakfast! I wish I hadn’t bothered, it took 5 minutes to even get served despite being the only person at the counter. Ordered All a Day big breakfast which looked good despite sausages looking a bit pale, However Sausages were Luke warm, beans cold and bacon greasy and inedible. The positive was the egg and toast which were well cooked. I can honestly say I will never return as it was probably the most disgusting breakfast I have had! I tried to complain but there was no one to complain to and didn’t have time for the only member of staff to finish cooking which is terrible for a lunchtime service

Good choices of food and snacks

Staff overworked as only one till. So only one person can serve at a time and that one person is also doing the cooking as well. In the meantime I was in a big queue of people all huffing and puffing. This has happened lots as I shop there lots. Staff very polite . It needs another till and the staff out back to come and help when queues are long as most customers are ordering food. So it needs all hands on deck out front. But it is not working like that in this coffee shop. Staff stay out back when it's busy. It's odd. I have worked in a coffee shop for years now a mum but I would not have worked my shop floor lie that. Hot food tasty and good. But some cakes I got I had to take back it was stale. I like the staff just need new till and better organisation. And another till.

This could be a good little earner. Alas, lack of staff make it a no go area as the staff can only seem to cope with one order at a time. I went in there and ordered a bacon roll. I always order a bacon roll, but 9 out of 10 times they always say 'Oh we have not got any rolls, will bread do?' OK, you can accept this once or twice, but as I say, this is 9 out of 10 times, I went in there one afternoon and there was just one other person in front of me. The bacon roll that that I ordered came out as a bacon sandwich and took 25 minutes to arrive. Needless to say, I refused to take the order as my tea was all finished and I had to get on my way. I asked for my money back and it was given back without a blink of an eye.

Took my son here for breakfast not expecting much - what a surprise Excellent customer service, food presented nicely and the cafe clean and tidy. Well done to the lady who was cooking, service and clearing plates last Saturday morning

I have visited here twice recently for convenience whilst shopping with little grandchildren. Choice of food fairly limited and range of cakes quite expensive. Surroundings are rather stark despite being recently refurbished. It is alright for a quick coffee break but unfortunately not particularly appealing as a lunch venue.

Visited here recently for breakfast. Dried overcooked bacon, everything looked liked it had sat there under heat for ages. First and last time.

Visited today at around 11am. £15.99 got us 2 breakfasts with a couple of extras including tea and toast. The food tasted as though it had been stood on the hot plate for a significant period of time and to put it politely was 'revolting'. Eggs: overcooked, sausages: overcooked, bacon: overcooked, Hashbrowns :WELL overcooked, beans : edible, tomatoes: tasted like feet. You have to wonder what the managers and supervisors are doing here if they are able to ignore such terrible food being plated (judging by other reviews - on a very consistent basis), and why is no one being held to account for such shocking meals?? The tea was pleasant.

The TESCO Cafe provides a nice atmosphere, with tasty and affordable food and drinks. Their nice selection of hot and cold coffees is worth trying while chatting with family and friends. All day breakfast is large and tasty as are the fish and chips and burgers.

Again I tried this establishment to see if there were any improvements. No! alas even though new faces were behind the counter, it was still the same pre-cooked food under a heat lamp. Going cold and being served. Good price, but deliver the produce,!!

Good value usual supermarket cafe fayre nice breakfast when you can't face the shopping and free parking if you need to go into town

Dont eat there. Better to eat somewhere else if you want food fit to eat and enjoy, boring atmosphere, just like to" food".

No decaffeinated latte, not a great choice of food, hot food is not hot by the time you've queued git your food and paid.

Not a huge choice of food mid afternoon and deserted. Waited for ages for a member of staff to appear. No hot drinks when I visited and staff not overly friendly.

Yet again I tried to see if there was any improvement..Served myself coffee and drank it while waiting for service. Too busy talking in the kitchen. Breakfast was cold and bacon like leather..

When there for a catch up with a friend. We had a drink and as we weren't that hungry we decided to share some chips. They were horrid and the portion size was pathetic!

To be honest I hadn't realised that there was a cafe at Tesco as it is not well advertised. I only found out about when I had my car valeted on site and was given a voucher for a cup of tea or coffee at the cafe.The cafe was not busy and the coffee was from a machine on the counter so no fancy coffee as at Costa in the town centre.There was a limited choice of cakes etc.Another drawback is that the cafe closes at 17.00 while the shop remains open until 23.00.On the positive side there is a trolley park downstairs where full trolleys can be secured locked.

Ordered a simple meal Burger and Chips, was freshly cooked the staff member came over after the order and asked if i wanted saland and cheese etc which was nice. The food looked well presented and tasted very nice and serive with a smile !

I little thought I would like this place. But I do. The view over the town and roundabout from the windows is fun, and like Tolouse Lautrec who always ate in the Eiffel Tower so he could not see it , you cannot see the Tesco from the cafe.... The breakfast menu at eight items for 4.95 at the time of writing is excellent, eat what you like for a very reasonable price. It has become a little ritual that I take my wife here once a week (yes I know I am a cheapskate ;) ) and we thoroughly enjoy it.
