Not been to this cafe in years but decided to visit today with my two grandchildren whilst in garden centre. A bit of a slow ordering service but lady we saw was cheery and welcoming. Cakes were lovely but above all coffee was great. Coffee is expensive now and how I despair with a lot of the weak, tepid offerings around. My latte was hot and tasty. Possibly one of best I’ve had all year. Excellent.

I came to buy items from a garden centre, not go to a disco. There is unbearable music throughout the garden centre - not gentle, classical music, but modern 'pop' - exactly the sort of rubbish that most of their clientelle (elderly people) don't want to hear. After ten minutes my wife and I couldn't stand it any more and left. When I'm shopping I want to be able to THINK and discuss things with the person I'm shopping with, not have horrible music blaring out, so I can't hear myself speak. I won't be going back, because no doubt they will refuse to turn the music off 'because studies say it encourages sales'.

Had to wait nearly an hour for our food. An error with the ordering equipment meant no orders were being put through to the kitchen, and no one was told about it, until we asked where our food was. Staff didn't look happy in their job, and some things were done as if it was an effort.

I was impressed (as a Coeliac) to see there were tongs for cakes etc, labelled as gluten free tongs. The choice of gluten free cakes unwrapped and wrapped was good. Because of the gluten free tongs I felt safe having the unwrapped cake slices. However, the waitress who brought our tray put it on our table quite forcefully, did not make eye contact with us and did not utter a word to us. We were so taken aback. As she walked away my friend called out thank you but we received no response. Neither my friend nor I have ever experienced anything like this before. Even in the busiest of places (and this wasn't busy) you always get a comment such as here is your tray or hope you enjoy. The other waiting staff engaged with the people on tables they took trays to. Maybe this girl didn't like serving tables and doesn't like the public much. My suggestion is that she may be happier and more comfortable doing something different, maybe in the kitchen. We are hoping she didn't mean to be rude but just may have felt uncomfortable. We joined the Diamond Club and received an email invitation to comment/make suggestions about the garden centre and cafe. I reviewed both - my review of the cafe (this one) was ignored but they were pleased I had enjoyed the garden centre. I was hoping they'd show some concern that their waitress came across rude since they'd invited the opportunity to hear about our experience.

I Visited the garden centre today to use two vouchers collected in December on the promotion of £5.00 off any purchase in January with a £25.00 or over spend in December. Now bear in mind I spent over £50.00 in December, I was most annoyed that today when I tried to spend these two vouchers together, it was not allowed. No where on the voucher does it mention any of this so I said I would make two transactions only to be told it was only one voucher use per day ( manager making it up as he goes along!) I have attached a photo of the voucher. Needless to say after using the second voucher tomorrow ( luckily I live within walking distance) I won’t be visiting Nailsworth garden centre anytime soon

A nicely laid out Garden Centre with plenty of choice. The Restaurant is clean and welcoming and the outside seating area is good. It was a nice meet up with friends. There was no problems with the service, which was good. My one grouse is the food in the Restaurant is expensive for what you get, it was my choice to pay £8.25 for a Prawn Sandwich but I certainly wouldn't be making a habit of it at this price. But for the fact it was our choice of meet-up and lunch, future visits would be purely for the Garden Centre.

Stopped here for afternoon tea after selecting a few items to buy. Clearly working under current restrictions is burdensome and repetitive for staff, some places work past that, others let the tedium of customer service creep into their demeanour, and that was the case here. Efforts to manage risk meant that there are a few complications if you need to use the toilets, select items to buy and/or use the cafe. We ended up having to go all the way out and back in again twice because of the one way system. Service at the entrance to the cafe when you are shown to your table and service at the tills were both a chore for the staff it seemed. The tea and cakes were fine.

We appreciate we are in difficult times and waiting times for tables or food could be longer but it didn’t seem that busy when we were the only 2 people waiting by the sign at the door to ‘wait to be seated’. After 5 minutes of being totally ignored by the staff regularly walking past us we were told by a couple leaving that unless we wanted to wait an hour for our food we shouldn’t bother. So as we had not even had by then received the courtesy of an acknowledgment of our existence we left. They clearly don’t need or value any more business!

I like to think I am a fair critic although some that do not get a favourable review might argue with that. I don't consider myself difficult to please but I do reserve my 5-star reviews for those that I feel rightly deserve it. I cannot bring myself to give favourable reviews to those I don't feel deserve it. I was introduced to 5-star dining from an early age and while I do not expect places to live up to that I do expect a good standard of food, service and value and if I don't get it I am not afraid to say so.

This was our first visit since Blue Diamond took over the garden centre from Wyevale. The place certainly looks much smarter and menu looked good. We discovered the ‘over 60s’ meal deal (2 course plus hot drink for £9.95) and decided that was excellent value. My husband ordered fish and chips, and I ordered quiche with salad and chips. We then waited...and waited. When it eventually arrived it was delicious. My husband is a connoisseur of fish and chips, and declared this one of the best. And good portion sizes, even on the meal deal. We had had to order our desserts at the same time as the main course, so assumed they would be brought automatically. After waiting about 10 minutes (and we needed to allow space for the desserts!), we asked a waitress, and she said she would get them sent to us. Another 20 minutes and still no sign, so I went to the desk and asked again. They appeared about 5 minutes later. And my husband had ordered crumble, but what arrived was jam sponge pudding! We did not want to wait any longer, so he accepted it and enjoyed it. My chocolate brownie with ice cream was also very good.

I missed my festive lunch due to being in hospital so a friend invited me after my release to Wyevale Garden Centre. It might seem an unlikely place for a Christmas lunch but certainly worth a visit. Recently Wyevale have upgraded their dining rooms and seemingly taken on the catering themselves. In recent years the catering was franchised out and subsequently went down hill. I am glad to say that this has now been revised and can certainly challenge good class restaurants in the area and come out on top. The food far exceeded expectations and at a very reasonable price. The service seemed to get off to a slow start but seemed to speed up as it got busier. Most restaurants can start of with slow service and then get slower as it gets busier. I would certainly recommended it. The vegetarian option was equally as tasty.

It used to be run independently and the last time I visited the experience was excellent but it is now run in-house by the Wyevale company and this time things weren’t good at all. They hadn’t appeared after twenty minutes so I went back inside to chase them up. It was quite obvious that our order had been lost and we had to wait another ten minutes before any food appeared. We were offered a free coffee which we declined. The attitude of the staff was bordering on surly and I certainly won’t be going back.

Popped in with my wife this afternoon for lunch... overall experience was O.K. but it took a while to actually get to the front of the queue, and then had to wait at least 5/10 minutes, standing there, just for a pot of tea for two. One poor young girl (darkish brown hair) left out by the tills alone, trying to serve a huge queue of customers, whilst also making all the drinks at the same time (??)- as the other girl is wandering around picking up some trays. Strange ? food and drink was good, by the time we actually got it, and surprisingly very good customer service by the *only* girl panicking at the tills. Felt her pain, so had to go and ask the people in the kitchen if someone would actually help the her out, which she was very polite and grateful for. Organisation in that respect could do with improvements... did not look enjoyable! But, nevertheless, i enjoyed my meal, and will probably return soon.

She then couldn't work the till and had to call the whole staff over! She swore blind what we ordered wasn't on the menu til I showed her. Then the card machine didn't work and she said it was my fault. We sat down and part of our lunch arrived(soup and sandwich) after a 25minute wait. Both were pleasant, no garnish with sandwich though just two slices of bread on a plate for £7!No chips arrived! I went to counter and reported this, on way I was told. After a further 20minutes still no chips and I reminded them again, ah yes they said and they were served half an hour after the sandwich and soup! It wasn't like it was busy, about four diners in.In a nutshell, staff with terrible attitudes and poor service. The two stars are for the nice soup and sandwich although they were expensive! I'll not be going back!

As this place is fairly local to me, I decided to give the restaurant another try - in the hope that my experience on my last visit would not be repeated. I actually ended up here twice in the last week or so. First time was just for coffee (just as well, because there was a sign saying no cold food or 'sanwaches' There was a choice of two cakes, neither of which appealed, so just ordered two flat whites. Two very young girls were working at the counter and the place was almost empty. The coffee was pretty awful, some instruction needed in the use of the machine needed. Second visit was for lunch with a friend. This time there was another list of what was not available (e.g. egg mayonnaise... why??) again the place was very, very quiet. Our toasties took a very long time to arrive, but were edible, and the salad garnish was ok. There are jugs of room temperature tap water on the counter. How hard would it be to have an insulated ice bucket also on the counter, or better still, a large glass container of water and ice with a tap at the bottom (as is available in a lot of restaurants these days) The place needs a good shake up!

I got a deal on Groupon: one cream tea for two, as a treat for my mum, at any Wyevale Garden Centre. We used to love going to the Wyevale cafe back when it was Tubby's so it was great to revisit the place. The setting is totally gorgeous, set amid green fields with a stream running alongside the outdoor terrace. The weather was unseasonably hot and sunny and we decided to eat outside; the manager put up the umbrella for us as we both resemble pasty-white ghosts and hate being in direct sunlight. The teenage girl at the till was appropriately sullen and made me feel nostalgic for my own sulky teenage years, but the manager did everything he could to make us comfortable. Included in this tea were three finger sandwiches each (I chose tuna and Mum had cheese and tomato - both very nice and generously filled), one massive scone each with clotted cream and jam, and an enormous wedge of the cake of our choice (I had Victoria sponge and Mum opted for chocolate). Everything was so tasty and the portions were si generous. Several weeks ago I got Mum a MOther's Day cream tea at the Paddington Hilton (don't judge me - we had to be in the area anyway for an event) and it absolutely couldn't compare with this Wyevale one. The Hilton one featured sickly-sweet plastic cakes and incompetent staff: this one was simple, basic, generous and very tasty indeed, with a very attentive manager indeed. Service was also insanely quick. I'm afraid I was too busy gorging to take photos but the scones here are INCREDIBLE. Even without the Groupon the cream teas are perfectly reasonable: £16 (for two I assume) is very good value for what we had. Will go again as long as I can still fit into my jeans.

Arrived for the lunch menu. No queue, waited to be served for about 5 mins, did think about leaving as it was taking so long to order (wish that we had!). Ordered 2 Jacket potatoes and 1 sandwich with a side portion of chips. Sandwich came out first but the number was written wrongly on the order, so the server took it on a tour of the restaurant, calling out for number 36, they stated that it wasn't their order. I asked the lady if it was for our number 38 and was rudely told that it was for 36, she then continued to walk around and finally returned to the kitchen.About 10 minutes later another member of staff came to our table and asked me to confirm my order as there had been a mistake writing down the order number as 36.When the food did arrive, the chips and jacket potatoes had not been cooked for long enough and were hard in the middle. The sandwich bread seemed to be the value range bread, which was a surprise as the sandwich cost almost £5. We visited many times before Wyevale took over the running of the restaurant and were very disappointed by the new dining experience. We will not be returning.

Easter Sunday and the garden centre was closed but the restaurant was open. We arrived at 11.15 a.m. and quickly order breakfast as it is served up until 11.30 a.m. Very nice traditional breakfast in two sizes plus a vegetarian option, not to mention lots of other breakfast items on offer. All freshly prepared and very nicely cooked, reasonably priced. Separate lunch menu and range of cakes and snacks available. Plenty of parking. We will return when we pay another visit to Woodchester Park and hopefully get to see the garden centre as well.

Popped in for a quick bite to eatGarden centre was nice and friendly plenty of things to look at before going to the restaurant. Friendly staff again. We only had a sandwich and when it arrived it was beautifully presented. There was plenty of filling and clearly freshly made. Not a bad price as far as garden centres go but £2.00 for a can of coke is a bit of a joke! Luckily water was provided at no cost. Sitting in the sunshine was great. The tables were cleared promptly. Will return again as my disabled Dad will be able to make his way round with ease.

It was Saturday lunchtime and not at all busy. We waited for almost 20 minutes in the queue to order 2 meals and water. Very slow service. Easily found a table and waited for 30 minutes for food, which isn't too bad. Polite and helpful staff delivered our meals. Fish, chips and mushy peas and lasagne. A good size meal and neither of us could finish our food. But on the way home I begin having stomach gripes and rushed back. I have been ill for the last 2 hours. Feeling dreadful. So my advice is AVOID FISH, CHIPS AND MUSHY PEAS AT ALL COSTS.

We stopped off at the Garden Centre on the way home from a weekend break and decided to eat in the cafe. The food was very good, there was a special price for Over 60's for hot drink, main meal and dessert, which took £10.00 off our bill. We joined the loyalty scheme and were able to add pints from this visit retrospectively. We would definitely go again if passing.

I visited with my wife on the 2nd January 2017 for a breakfast. My breakfast seemed smaller than usual, and I realised that the hash brown was missing. This went unnoticed by the staff, upon mentioning this I was offered an alternative and chose bacon but this was very dry. My tomato was overcooked and shrivelled up. All in all a very disappointing visit. Local supermarkets are much better value. We will not be going back any time soon.

My family visited for "breakfast with Santa" on Christmas Eve.The whole experience was excellent, being greeted and shown to our table was a lovely touch. The food was great, we would of expected toast to come with the breakfast but it was available as an extra. Our 6yr old daughter had a fantastic time with Santa's elf who made the build up to Santa arriving great. Whilst the children spent time with Santa, who was excellent, our tables were cleared and set up for cookie decorating with the elf. All in all it was a lovely morning that I would recommend

Haven't been here since they changed the restaurant. And I wish we had stayed away. It was quite possibly one of the worst lunch experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived at 12.30... Lunch starts at 11.30. They hadn't turned round the lunch board menu. We all ordered from the board only then about 15mins later to be told they had run out of some items which affected 3 of our meals. I had to change mine completely... Which was cheaper than my originally payment to which the staff offered no refund in the difference. When our meals finally came out after about 40 mins of waiting 5 of them were wrong. They had put the wrong cheese in the sandwiches, forgot the added extras, forgot garlic bread with Mac and cheese and sides and small measly portioned salad... Overall extremely bad quality. Definitely not worth £5+ the coffees were not very good, just about warm and bitter. When we did ask where are sides were the staff were unsympathetic and sarcastic. We saw one staff member just stand around not doing anything for about 30minutes so it's hardly unsurprising that the service is so slow. While we were there there was other people returning drinks and asking for a refund. The only good outcome was that when we spoke to the manager he refunded us our money. It's obvious they need a front of house manger with good customer skills that can improve the service. Having a lunch menu that actually SERVES the lunch it says would also be a bonus or if you run out of things have staff that are on the ball that communicate well with each other as well as the customers. I can safely say we will not be returning...

We were going to have lunch at Hobb's bakery which I love in Nailsworth, but we had been in the garden centre because my daughter loves the christmas section. My husband suggested we looked at the menu but the the menu he had looked at 5 minutes before was removed at 12.50pm and it was just there specials so quite limited. My daughter and husband had a toasty cannot go far wrong there and they were happy my daughter also had a triple chocolate cookie which she enjoyed. I had a jacket potato which was okay. It was very busy, I found it fairly cold and a bit of a faf going outstide to the toilet especially if it had been cold outside. I always find it a bit off putting when at the till they have two signs advertising for staff chef and waitress, I know it is a good place to put a sign but then you think I hope they have enough staff now! I did not see there scores on the doors that I always like to see. We did have quite a wait for our food to come out. They had to look out the back for my diet pepsi which was a bit strange, the glasses were not over clean from the dishwasher, needed a good rinse aid! The whole time we were there the table next to us which was empty did not have the dirty tray with dishes removed. There were two tables taken up with a member of staff and also there xmas display, I am not sure if this meant that some people had a problem finding some where to sit down.

I took my son for lunch today, having queued there were no jacket potatoes available and other items were also in short supply. We ordered a toasted sandwich, Cod and chips and two latte's.We were served our drinks, given an order number and sat down.Twenty minutes later we were still waiting, I got the attention of a staff member and asked if it was usual to wait this long? She laughed and said she would check. We were given no further information, so after waiting for another 10 minutes I requested a full refund.Since Wyevale took over the running of this restaurant the service and food quality have dipped, I would not visit again. It is totally un-acceptable to treat customers in this way, the manager needs to address this as soon as possible...bring back 'Tubby's Restaurant', and I'm sorry having a new chef is no excuse !!!!

As for café, they have updated it since I was last there however that's as good as it gets, staff seemed uninterested plus they had next to no food available, we choose what we were having to eat only to get to counter to order to find out that they had NO Sandwiches, Baked potatoes, Panninis, Salad or soup....what a joke! Please note we arrived approx. 12pm...lunchtime. We were told all we could have was food from the hot counter.

Met a friend for a "light lunch". Had NO idea just how accurate that was going to be! Ordered from the specials board, so not a cheap option at almost £8. Dishes for macaroni cheese were tiny and the serving only just covered the bottom of the dish. What was described as a side salad turned out to be a garnish - 1 slice of cucumber and half a cherry tomato with a pinch of wilted rocket. The garlic bread was just about acceptable. Wish we had taken a photo, as words cannot describe. No wonder there were several staff vacancies being advertised!

We ate at Wyevale when we were holidaying nearby, we got chatting to a local woman on Rodborough Common who told us that it was a lovely place to eat. We called in to have a late lunch, at first we thought that we were too late but the friendly staff said that they would serve us. I had the Macaroni cheese with the garlic bread and my parents had the fish and chips. We were told that dogs were allowed in the outside seating area and this was the case, there was water for them too which they enjoyed after their long walk. The food was well presented and well cooked and we all cleared our plates, it was very good value for money, and we would definately eat there again.

Great coffee, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. My seasonal latte was perfect, and the snack selection was fresh. We arrived in Stroud mid afternoon on a Saturday. The kids were starving and every other place we tried to get into was in the process of shutting. Despite Stroud being packed, Milano appeared to be the only place open that was still doing lunch or any type of food for that matter ! The lady behind the counter was super friendly and everything that we had to eat was tasty and really good value too. My youngest especially liked the Spag Bol and the proper milk shake made with ice cream. Don`t be put off by some of the reviews on here, it`s a nice place and really friendly. Just don`t go in expecting a restaurant, the clue is in the word cafe !

We were on our fourth visit to this up-market garden centre; with a garden and fancy-goods shop, a food/farm shop, a restaurant, and a meeting-room complex. We had made a lunchtime reservation, but being early, we had a good look-around the food and farm-shop. We saw a few foodstuffs that we fancied for a couple of snacks to enjoy at home over the next day or so (these were really very good sausage rolls and scotch eggs). We also bought some jars of pickles: Gooseberry and Coriander, and also Piccalilli: these were ideal accompaniments to our foodstuffs. As planned we took our table at 12:15, for an early lunch; as daylight fades by mid-afternoon this time of year, and ideally we needed daylight to visit a nearby National Trust property. In the event the NT property was closed. On our last visit here in December 2023, we had first tried the delicious ‘Longhorn Beef’ burgers. After a whole year since that time, we just could see how we could possibly not order them again. As this lunch was our main meal of the day we shared a starter of Focaccia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I think we were both very glad we decided to share; as this would have been far-too filling to have eaten such a large starter each. The bread was lovely and soft, and there was enough olive oil and the fantastically strong balsamic to ‘go around’. The burgers soon arrived and, as before, they looked great; the rich savoury taste was almost assured. They were without doubt the best burgers that we have enjoyed since the last time we were here. The 6oz burger was flavoursome, hot and juicy with an excellent brioche bun, good melted cheese, gherkins and tomato. There was a plentiful serving of hot, but quite over-seasoned, crispy fries. Desserts were just not going to happen, but the coffee and cold drinks were also refreshing and good. Service was very pleasant and attentive.
