I have been visting cheddar garden centre for many years and consitently their vegetarian breakfast is one of the best and most enjoyable in the area. My mum really enjoys their lighter breakfast and says the meat produce is of a good quality. Very good size portion if not on the large side - I rarely finish it all, fresh as a daisy and generally hot. Large seating area with a nice outside part under the covered canopy area next to the bedding plants, so plenty of space to pick your spot - plus dog friendly outside. Usually relatively quick service and clean and pleasant for a spacious garden centre restaurant.

My wife and I visited earlier today with another couple for afternoon tea, and I have to say the whole experience was faultless. The husband in the other couple and I are both wheelchair users, and we were shown to a very easy to access table. The staff were very friendly and approachable, and brought out to the four of us a beautifully presented banquet of wonderful food, all obviously freshly prepared. Altogether thoroughly enjoyable, so much so that we're planning another visit before the end of the month.

This was the first and last time we will visit for a coffee and cake. We waited 40 minutes to be served at the till, there were around 7 or 8 people in front of us and the cafe was not that busy. When we eventually got our coffees, we went outside to find a table. There were plenty of them but every single one of them was covered in dirty plates and cups. The 2 ladies bringing out meals went back to the kitchen empty handed every time, why were they not clearing a table each time ? It's a shame, because the food was very good and I'm sure they could be selling a lot more food if they just went up a gear or two.

Called in here the last day of September for a coffee. We were the first customers of the day and quite clearly the staff member that served us hadn’t switched on her customer care button because she was a little abrupt edging on being rude, maybe because she was still setting up. We decided not to have breakfast so just enjoyed a coffee which was as good as ever. Have written separately to the Area Manager to point out the amount of food deposits trapped in the slats on the table tops but haven’t seen a response to that yet. The reception we received won’t put us off calling in for coffee but the cleanliness of the table might deter us from eating food there.

I visited the Garden centre with my Sister and thought we’d treat ourselves to lunch there. We ordered a mature cheddar and tomato sandwich and a mature cheddar and ham sandwich with a very small side salad. When it arrived the bread was quite dry and the cheddar was so mild you could barely taste it, it was processed ham too. The little gem lettuce had been washed because you could still taste the chemicals on it. Disappointed as we paid almost £7 for each sandwich!! If the quality had been better all round I would happily pay that but it just wasn’t worth the price we paid for it. The staff were very good can’t fault that side, although the wrong sandwich came out to begin with. Lovely garden centre just won’t be using the restaurant again.

Passing through we came across the Garden centre on our way to Weston. The garden centre is quite large with all the usual departments and a restaurant. We ordered a cheese and tomato and a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich, both were very fresh and tasty. The only downside was the tables that had lots of used crockery on them, that needed taking away. The centre is being taken over by Dobbies in the near future, maybe this will improve.

The garden centre was clean tidy and inviting. There was plenty to look at indoors. The cafe was lovely and our food and drinks where excellent. However our visit was ruined by the rude service we got at the tills. The lady in question was rude to my mum over one of your offers which wasn’t taken off on the till prior to my mum paying for her items. If you’ve got offers make sure you tell the till staff and make sure they acknowledge the customer. The offer was granted but not without a huff from the lady member of staff. Without customers you won’t have a business.

This restaurant attached to the garden centre is pristine, very neat, clean, and the staff are really attentive with a good sense of humour! There was a large selection of meals to choose from. I had toasted cheese and pickle sandwich with salad, and my friend had fish and chips with peas. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The coffee and tea were superb! Then afterwards we had a look around the books, artists' materials, flowers and plants. Plenty of choice there, too. All in all, a very pleasant sojourn during our visit to Cheddar.

This is my local garden centre so thought I would visit for lunch with my friend and her little boy. We both ordered toasted sandwiches at a cost of £7 each. We were presented with a sandwich which consisted of 1 slice of processed ham and a slither of melted cheese. Definitely not worth £7. We returned for the Christmas preview evening and decided to stay for a seasonal hot drink. We ordered a hot chocolate, an Oreo cocoa and salted caramel latte. And then we waited and waited, 3 drinks took around 30 minutes to make while us and another family stood in line to collect our ‘hot’ drinks which were just warm by the time we got them. Very bad service, unfortunately I will not be returning to this restaurant.

We bought a pottery chimney from this garden centre. When we got home it was badly smashed although we had been very careful with it. Rang the store and they acknowledged it was probably faulty at the point of sale but insisted that we needed to bring it back at our expense. I offered to send photos of receipt and damaged product, and be available for them to pick it up and deliver a replacement. I invited the manager to offer token compensation for the journey expenses but declined. Generally very poor service compared to Amazon etc. Be warned - if they make a mistake the customer will have to bear the cost of their error and from my telephone conversation with him their manager believes this is very reasonable.

Roast potatoes obviously deep fried, they were rather bland looking and tasting tbh, so oven roasts would have been much nicer as these weren't the best. £11.95 plus a coffee on top, so circa £15 in total. Dinner was nice enough, and the portions are generous also. I would return for the same, but with the Yorkie next time lol, as the service was excellent, very friendly indeed. Sort the roasties out and you're onto a winner! (P.S. I would recommend this place, the deserts looked absolutely gorgeous!)

First visit here, having lived in Brean for nearly 10 years. What a pleasant place, the food was well cooked, decent portions and very reasonable on price. The staff, especially the young waitress, were very friendly attentive and polite. Will definitely be back

Awful ! Overpriced ... poor service ! No meals except pastries .... a sausage roll was £6.95 ! I know it's a National Trust and we are members I agree they do a great deal of good. However, with such a prime seaside spot .... loads of families on the beach ...they should offer normal seaside food and priced! We had a coffee and a slice of cake and it came to £20 for 2 of us. Families are struggling at the moment. I can't understand why they don't offer traditional seaside food like a bag of chips, ice creams, lollies, milk shakes etc. They have a prime spot with a captive audience as its the only cafe at Brean down. Felt very dissapointed it could be so much improved !.... prices are Ridiculous !!!!! Service is bad you order then go to another partcto collect , no please or thank you ! I think they love dogs more than people !

Called in on a Wednesday lunchtime as we passed by from Bristol airport on our onwards journey to family. Spotlessly clean, I asked for mayo, the squeezey bottle lid and bottle were spotlessly clean, as was the vinegar lid and bottle, toilets clean and tidy. All staff friendly, nothing was too much trouble - I asked for hot water to top up my pot of tea. We had chicken wraps and skinny fries, chicken was nice and juicy, good value for money. We would definitely go back if we were ever in the area again.
