Visité aquí el miércoles para un café y pastel / rollo. La camarera vino por nuestra orden, pero no estábamos listos. Luego esperamos 20 minutos sin que nadie viniera a ofrecer servicio. Mientras tanto, estábamos viendo a un miembro del personal trabajando de plano para hacer cafés mientras otros 4 coqueteaban, se reían y bromeaban entre sí detrás del mostrador de servicio. Intentamos llamar la atención del grupo que no trabaja detrás del mostrador sosteniendo el brazo en alto, etc., pero fuimos totalmente ignorados. Eventualmente subí al mostrador para pedir servicio (perdón por consentir a sus chicos divertidos) informándoles que en realidad estábamos a punto de irnos ya que habíamos sido ignorados durante tanto tiempo. Entonces todos se separaron y desaparecieron y alguien más apareció por nuestra orden. Esto llegó rápidamente y era de un buen nivel. Antes de terminar, una de las chicas del grupo de coqueteo se acercó y se llevó un plato y una taza. No había terminado y mi amigo acababa de tragarse su última boca llena de café. Definitivamente estaba ‘en un suspiro’. Más tarde intentamos llamar la atención para pagar la cuenta. ¿Adivina qué? Al final acabamos de subir al mostrador. No volveremos a pesar de que somos locales. 3 estrellas es para la comida y el café - 0 estrellas para el personal en particular.

Personal súper amable, comida increíble, ambiente muy acogedor, es todo lo que quieres en una cafetería. ¡Una experiencia realmente perfecta, sin duda volveré!

I have done the Word of Mouth Cafe in Leith a few times, and this was my first time in Morningside in quite a while, and I was in the need of a quick brunch to get me through the rest of the day. Excellent location, and the staff are very freindly. Ordered a coffee and a breakfast roll (well, Ciabatta!) to go and it was freshly prepared in no time. Good prices , and if in the area again I will be sure to visit here once more.

incredible coffee - the flavour, the temperature, the latte art - this place has it all. Nice clean and crisp interior, quiet but not dull, great place to study and the coffee is really good value compared to most other cafes ! Service was also very smiley and warm and the music was a vibe. If you could rate more than 5 stars, I would :)

Excellent cafe with brilliant service. The owners are always so friendly and the food is prepared fresh and tastes amazing. Proper coffee too. We’re regulars and love it!

A lovely little cafe well worth a visit. I had the lemon chicken flatbread and it was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient - would definitely go again.

In Word of mouth Morningside today. I had a Mumbai chai, it was lovely creamy and spicy also had a chocolate brownie which was also amazing, it has a really pleasing texture and mistaking the chocolateliness, left on a bit of a high. A great way to start my day. As usual the staff were warm and friendly and a lovely relaxed atmosphere 😊 would quite happily visit here every day. Too bad I live in the other end of town.

Excellent wee cafe. Food fantastic, really prepared and presented well and tasted amazing. Good service too. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

A great experience. Very generous portions - delicious home cooked food with a friendly and easy going atmosphere. Friendly staff. Seriously impressed. Can’t think of anything negative. We needed food before a show at the Churchill theatre. We were given a table and food was very quick. There are lots of cafes nearby and this is one of the best.

Stopped in with a friend for brunch & we had the soup of the day and veggie breakfast! Really lovely food and staff - a great start to the day!

I visited Word of Mouth on Sunday 10th April with my husband, daughter and toddler grandaughter and we were made to feel very welcome. The surroundings are very clean and contemporary. There was something delicious on the brunch menu for all of us. We will definitely return.

A little family lunch today in this little gem of a place in Morningside. Nice good, great coffee and a lovely vibe. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

I went into this cafe thinking it was still Rocket ,which was its name before Word of Mouth. Excellent coffee and very moist delicious Chocolate and Orange cake. Will return

Good local cafe with a mix of Scottish & European options, including Greek food. Spanakopita & waffles both very tasty on our first visit & I'm sure I'll be back. Service quick & friendly.

When we think about grabbing a coffee, Word of Mouth is always our first option and it never disappoints. It’s a lovely spot at Morningside road, offering a selection of breakfast food, smoothies, cakes and Greek pastries— with vegetarian options too. The food was absolutely amazing – do not miss the orange and chocolate cake! The staff always make us feel welcome and give us an amazing experience. In terms of COVID compliance, there are protective screens between tables and a hand-sanitiser placed on each table so I’ve always felt safe. I’d recommend you grab a mocha on your way for a stroll to Blackford hill, or invite your friends to catch up over breakfast!

This place is lovely for food and staff. Clean and PPE safe. All day breakfast is great. Its fresh and bright and not too big a place.

Food was lovely, very tasty and warm, well presented and all good. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and good service. All round this is a lovely little cafe that should succeed but.... The Covid considerations were poor. I don’t think the tables are sufficiently spaced...

I've lived in Edinburgh a year and have visited quite a few coffee spots and this one is definitely my favourite of the lot. Really great coffee (the best mochas I've found!), a very nice atmosphere in the place, and lovely, personable and warm owners....
