Lovely little cafe where food is cooked to order for visiting customers. Dog friendly and good portion sizes just on the side of lake Bala as a nice stop.

We had a great experience here recently: very reasonably priced salads, prompt service on a busy Saturday, plenty of seating and a lovely location. Would recommend unreservedly and will return when we visit the area again. Thank you to all staff concerned.

Really friendly staff, place was clean and food was very nice. We both had the homemade steak and kidney pie which was lovely. It's dog friendly too and there were several well behaved dogs in today including mine. Woody's is right on the lake so lunch with a view. You could sit outside but although a lovely day out was a little chilly for us.

Lovely cup of tea. Wish we’d found this cafe earlier as much better than anywhere in Bala town. Clean, lakeside location with plenty of seating. Will return for food as looked good.

Stopped for brunch. Lovely views of Lake Bala. Good to have a kids play area to help keep our toddler occupied before our food arrived. Service was a bit on the slow side though, and there's only the one toilet.

Was recommended this place by my Brother in Law and it didn’t disappoint. Had the vegetarian breakfast and the addition of a Veggie burger was unusual but really nice. The place is dog friendly and was full of locals and you get to eat with a view of Bala Lake. A great find.

Friendly enough staff Service was prompt but the breakfast was a disappointing mix of microwaved sausage , limp bacon ,tinned mushrooms , a fried egg that had barely seen the frying pan but the beans and toast were OK and the wife said the cup of tea was nice as was my latte but overall for £20+ it wasn't good

Food is really good above average priced and nice views. Service is a bit slow just staff stood around Not bad though for a brief stop (if you can contend with the cyclists who I think some believe it’s the Tour de France)

Picked this cafe on our way to Benar Beach, thinking we'd use the toilets & buy some sandwiches to take away. Once I was in there, the cafe staff were so friendly and saw my husband was outside with our dog, they told me they could come in, as it's a dog friendly cafe. We then decided to order and eat in. Food was nice, but the best thing was the service & friendliness. If you are travelling with your dog, I would recommend stopping here.

A very enjoyable full breakfast, but a little on the expensive side for a café. The staff were very friendly and obliging and the café is situated in a great spot on the shores of the lovely Llyn Tegid on the outskirts of the friendly town of Bala. Definitely well worth a visit.

I traveled up there with my family for a birthday trip, in late November. Now I’ll admit from the outside it didn’t look like much HOWEVER it is one of the nice restaurants I have been to in a long time. The food was amazing, there was 5 of us and you could see the food being prep and cook from wherever you sat. So my family love to surprise/ embarrass me. So without my knowledge when they called to book it they ask if the could make a birthday cake for me, the didn’t give much directions except I really like Percy pig (a sweet). After we had the really amazing food. They brought out this cake, that they had made. The cake was perfect. The team that are there are amazing and seem like nothing is to big. Colin the chef that was there in the evening is amazing.

Stopped off on the way home from a 2.5 hour drive holidaying over the august bank holiday. Looked lovely outside right on the lake. Me an my partner decided to grab our food in take out boxes and sit in the car facing the lake. We ordered a ham and cheese toasties, 1 chips and 2 coffees and came up for £20. Thought it was a little pricey for what we got. Service was nice, girls were friendly however we wasn’t offered any addiction spoons, sugar for our coffees, no sauces with our chips no napkins. We had to ask on several occasions for simple things that should of been offered. Our food wasn’t even warm, the chips however were hot and the nicest part. But the cheese and ham toastie was awful! The cheese wasn’t melted it was a slice of cheap ham, a pile of grated(not melted) red leicester cheese in between 2 cold slices of cold, sightly toasted bread. Wasn’t nice at all. If we were sitting in the restaurant and hadn’t of taken our food to go we would have taken it back and complained. It’s very rare I would complain to a small family business however for its location sat right on the lake I expected the food to be much better quality than it was, and for the price £20 for basically a sandwhich and coffee is appalling. I’ve had better canteen food. Honestly wouldn’t go back again. Maybe for a coffee, but wouldn’t recommend food.

Having done a quick online review of the various eateries in Bala prior to a weekend trip Kayaking was managing my expectation for and evening dinner accordingly - then some friend said they had booked a table at Woody’s and I am very pleased to say the food exceeded all expectations and and the waiting staff were friendly too. I would be very pleased to go back.

We visited for coffee and cake here, and enjoyed sitting outside on a picnic table close to the lake. Our food and drink was lovely quality. It’s very busy here, so you have to queue for some time to get served but it is worth it. We followed our visit with a walk by the lake, which made it a great day out overall.

We stopped here for breakfast twice, having been disappointed by the service at another establishment. The breakfast rolls are tasty, especially the sausages, and both the tea and coffee were good. Fair prices and very friendly service. Outdoor seating where you can eat your food whilst enjoying the beautiful views of Llanberis and its surroundings. Also does delicious cakes, milkshakes and hot chocolate. Highly recommended.

I'm actually gutted to be writing this review as we thought we had found a good haunt when we first tried last week. 2 adults & 2 children all had a lovely lunch time meal the previous week so we rebooked for the 2 adults for an evening meal the following weekend. The starter was lovely for both of us but we both ordered fillet steak for our main and I don't know what meat it was but it certainly wasn't a beef steak. It didn't look like one, taste like one or even cut like one. I was genuinely gutted as it has put me off going back again because I feel like it's just rude to expect somebody not to notice and left feeling like we've been totally ripped off. You don't order a fillet steak if you don't know exactly what to expect on your plate so the audacity to think you can pull that off is unbelievable. I can't complain about the service, both times it has been spot on, lovely women but unfortunately we won't be returning after been served that.

On a recent visit to Barmouth we found this little Gem of a place that is open on Sundays. There was a special board out side and it was the Cheese and Onion pie that drew us in . Both my husband and me had this and it came with new potatoes and salad . It was delicious and very reasonably priced . We were naughty and were too tempted by the delicious homemade sweets and puds they had to offer . I had the jam and coconut cake and my husband opted for the apple pie. They were presented lovely with fruit and a pot of cream on the side. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Barmouth

Lovely little dog friendly cafe in the heart of the village. Warm welcome by the host and his friendly staff. Typical Welsh weather and unfortunately the biffolding doors were closed in July however will visit again when the sun is out Diolch
