Tafarn Y Glob has to be one of the best hidden little gems of Bangor. From the moment you walk in, it's unique and friendly character embraces and welcomes you, with welsh memorabilia and photographs everywhere. The staff are lovely and friendly, happily engaging with locals and newcomers alike. There's a good selection of drinks on offer, but hands down the best thing going are the Ales. I believe they are in the good beer guide, and one of the locals is a member of a CAMRA as well, which is always a good sign. They have 3 or 4 pumps (I can't remember exactly) and always have at least one beer on rotation, and you can tell by taste, that they look after and care about their casks. There's always a happy background buzz at Y Glob, but the best night by far is on a Tuesday when a local group of musicians come in and informally play great folk music all evening, generally until close as well! All in all, a great pub, and one you should visit if you haven't already!

Always used to go here and liked this place a few years ago but popped here for couple pints and was disappointed by the cleanliness...grubby.....deep clean and upgrade needed. Service and pint was good tho

Absolutely stupendous pub. Coming here felt like stepping into a fantasy tavern. It's a proper welsh bar with signature drinks and good stuff on tap, the staff are incredibly tolerant and friendly in spite of rambunctious activity, they're all very reasonable and amicable, yet direct when they need to be. When it was time to leave, they very kindly directed us out but encouraged us to return. On Tuesdays, they have these 'folk nights' in which they play vintage musical instruments purely for our pleasure, it's a fantastic vibe and they have very reasonable prices for all drinks. I truly cannot sing praises of this bar enough, its so delightful as are all the staff.

I loved this place. Local lore suggests it’s for Welsh speakers only, but as a fellow Celt they tolerated me and we had good chat about minority languages. I wish I was there now to be honest.

Nice little pub, very quaint & cosy, not much breathing room, particularly if the uni sports teams are out. Pool table in the back is great, but some shots can be tricky with the walls 😅. Staff are always friendly & drinks are pretty reasonable.

Quirky pub to grab a drink in, uniquely decorated so there’s loads of things to looks at. Reasonably priced drinks, friendly service. Loved the sign in the pub which I had absolutely no idea what it said, but translated “Remember do the little things” good reminder!

Brilliant. Barman was so polite and friendly a group of us were there this evening untill closing. Would definately recommend this pub . Lovely Pub

This is the perfect place to go if you prefer to socialise through the medium of Welsh. Also Ger has gone above and beyond ensuring that the pub is safe for everyone during Covid-19.

Every time I go here, typically once or twice a week in the evening, it is often very busy, but am always served in a very welcoming manner. I can't help but feel though, the toilets could do with a slight refurbishment, but like I said, a great place!!

The Globe (neu 'Y Glôb i fi) has been my local for the past 10 years, despite me having moved away from Bangor a couple of years ago. I still visit Bangor a lot and always go to the Globe. Best pub in Bangor. Very welcoming, friendly staff, great choice of beers including craft ales, great place for a quiet coffee in the afternoon too! Ger (the landlord) runs a great pub! Despite it being a Welsh pub it's very welcoming for English speakers too, as I often take my English girlfriend there with me!

This is the best pub in upper Bangor, hands down. Small and intimate, great set of regulars, nice staff, great pool and darts area. Good for watching the football/rugby. Toilets need a bit of work, but otherwise top marks.

Friendly little pub, not much of a selection of beers

Visited the pub recently with my friends and the first thing I noticed was that all tables were dirty and sticky. It wasn’t busy at all so there wasn’t any excuse not to clean them. After that I went to the mens toilet and the ceiling was so dirty it was black. To top this off I noticed 16 and 17 year old boys (I knew them personally hence why I knew their age) taking shots in the corner. Very disappointed by the standards of this pub, won’t be resturning.

A pretty Welsh pub. Set back from main road but can still get busy. A decent place to go and watch the football. Good staff. Decent beer. There is a pool table but can get very busy on a weekend.
