Could be so much more than it is, maybe we caught them on a bad day but probably not. The staff were nice enough but the food was below average. I'm not a great cook but when I go out & pay for a meal I expect it to be better than I could do, but it was okay at best & the quality of ingredients was basic too. I wouldn't mind but I only had Gammon & chips. The Gammon wasn’t cooked enough, I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. The chips were okay & the fried egg was done nicely but the pineapple slice was from a basic range tin. I had two of the smallest, tasteless onion rings about the size of a 50p 😂 My son had a kid's burger meal, the burger wasn't nice the bun was dry & the peas were hard & low-quality. Food cooked without caring what it tasted like. Woody must rely on new customers staying on-site because I can't believe people go back again? Did make a good sticky toffee pudding but I'm guessing it was made somewhere else & microwaved.

Let's start with lunch. It was lovely nice and hot, well worth the money. Drinks were a bit overpriced. Sunday lunch. We went for the carvery. The staff on the carvery were super nice and the food was great except it could have been hotter than it was and we went half an hour after it opened. Was it worth the money? No, I don't think so.

We came for the carvery today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was well cooked and presented and there was plenty of variety. Ryan served with a smile and a friendly manner. The staff are all amazing and hard working, especially Scott and Jamie. Can't fault it!

When you pay £6.99 for a portion of chicken wings for your starter, you don’t expect 4 hummingbird wings on your plate when they arrive. 4 tiny wings for that price was just laughable. Two of us ordered the ribs for the main, was told they didn’t have any. Ordered a consolation burger instead. Burger was very average. For the price I expected a lot more. Onion rings on the top were cold. Others had mixed reviews of the food, some positive, some negative. Finished my main to see not one table but two being brought ribs. I thought they were out?! All in all the service was very okay, the quality was very okay, but the value for money was pretty shocking. I will never not be bitter about both my 4 tiny wings and the magic ribs that just appeared after I ordered them. Shan’t be returning.

Six of us came for celebration meal at short notice. Service very quick and staff very polite. Food very tasty. Husband ordered off specials menu. Chicken chorizo in white wine sauce, he said it was amazing. The ribs and chicken combo for me absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend you visit. Compliments to the chef.

We ordered and paid for our meal then the manager came. There were some ingredient missing so had to re-order which was fine then sadly when our order came it was not as described not King prawn no bloomer bread just white sliced from a loaf the price that we had paid didn’t reflect the meal they served so Therefore we asked for a refund and sent the meal back to the Kitchen and returned to our holiday caravan and cooked what I had in the fridge. Sadly this has then made our bank holiday weekend not as enjoyable as it could’ve been. I will not go back tomorrow as I do not want to do a repeat of this evening.so our weekend will not be as enjoyable as it could have been.

My husband and I had a lovely meal inWoody's Restaurant. Great choice of meals from the menu, we were spoilt for choice. Decided on the Gammon with black pudding, served with fried egg, grilled tomato, mushrooms, peas, onion rings in batter and chunky chips. Everything was excellent and cooked to perfection and we did not have to wait too long. Very good service with friendly staff, and as it was sunny, afterwards we had drinks outside. Highly recommended.

After years working as head chef in a number of top restaurants on the Lincs and Notts boarder. I visited Woody's Bar and Restaurant to meet up with Friends. When we arrived it was busy (so many people can not be wrong) The staff were really friendly they couldn't do more for us it was like we were long lost friends even tho it was the first time i been there. It wasn't long before we were all sat down enjoying a lovely selection of food and drink. Not a bad word about the Visit at all. We will be visiting again very soon, GREAT FOOD, DRINKS AND STAFF

We were directed over here, after going to the adjacent Woodthorpe Garden Centre to find their cafe jam packed. Woody's is situated on the Woodthorpe Hall Leisure Park about 200 yds across the road from the Garden Centre, and is co-located with an 18-hole golf course and a driving range. For an unknown restaurant we were pleasantly surprised, and all agreed we would use it again, perhaps in preference, to the garden centre cafe. The staff were polite and friendly and orders were taken promptly. The food was hot and obviously freshly cooked and there was plenty of it, and on looking at other folks orders, this appeared to be the 'norm'.For those with an interest in Aviation History, then do go and visit this place, as the walls are covered with photographs depicting the history of the former RAF Strubby and Strubby Airfield (part of which is still in use - we saw a glider approaching to land as we came out).Overall - a really nice place, and on my re-visit list not only for the food, but for the golf too.

The restaurant was busy and many of the tables needed clearing and the floor needed a good sweep up after many messy eaters. The food was average but expensive - my sandwich was advertised as with 'prawns and marie rose sauce' but there was no sauce. I did mention it to a young member of staff and have no confidence that my comment was noted. I certainly would not visit for one of the advertised Christmas meals.

Having been regular visitors to the restaurant over the last eight years, we are very disappointed to note the decline in the quality of food now served. On asking the Manageress why the restaurant now served frozen chips and ready prepared mashed potatoes , we were fobbed off with some story about sugar content in the potatoes and how they used to burn!! Goodness me we are in Lincolnshire - the home of the potatoe - surely you need to change your supplier, rather than the product. The restaurant used to be excellent with locally sourced produce from the farms across Lincolnshire - now it just appears to be the standard commercial rubbish you get served in any chain across the country. Overall, a very disappointing visit to what used to be somewhere to go for a family meal, whilst visiting the coast - never again!!!!

Six of us went here last night for a birthday meal and on first impressions the service was great. We ordered the meals and the starters all seemed ok. But when the mains arrived they were awful. The steaks on the "from the grill" section had never seen a grill and had either been cooked in the oven or a water bath. Both were over cooked and sent back. When the new ones arrived they were nearly blue. Upon complaining the waitresses seemed uninterested. All frozen meals only thing fresh was the salad. Wouldn't go back there if you paid me

I have eaten at Woody's restaurant about 5 times now over a period of about 10 months. I am a little confused by the other comments as other people's experience sounds so different!Let me explain...I am not a snob...but I do not like caravan holidays....(I think it might be paying to stay in a place that is worse than my own home that is not for me but each to their own)....however my father mentioned this restaurant and it is near to my house and I thought it was worth a try. Well all I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised for a caravan park how nice it is (really not like Mablethorpe).Likes:Variety of food available.Specials menuAtmosphereEasy (free) parkingPolite staff who make you feel at easePrices LayoutNew seating areaCleanGenerous portions (good luck finishing a three course meal there...ha)Things that could do with improving but do not need make a huge difference:Decor such as toilets are old fashionedWifi-not easy to use...but I do not care because I like to actually spend time talking to the people I am having a meal with then on my phone.I am struggling to think of anything else!!!Can I add that people have mentioned insects in other comments...I really do not understand this. Did they go somewhere else? The common fly that I have seen there are minimal...exactly the same that I would see in my house. It is the countryside after all...surrounded by fields...hence you will get the occasional fly.I do question sometimes what people want for their money.Give it a try...like I did....you may be pleasantly surprised!

Having eaten there twice before some time ago we decided to eat at Woody's restaurant. What a shock - we were shown to a table which had multiple flies crawling on it so we asked if something could be done - only to be told that they weren't able to apply fly spray due to 'health and safety' regulations. As we had travelled a fair distance we made the mistake of staying only to spend the whole time swatting flies from our food. We left after a single course and when we complained were told that they had managed to clear them from the kitchen but couldn't shift them from the restaurant. Do not visit this restaurant it is clearly unhygienic.

We have been coming to Woodthorpe for around 10 Years, and have always enjoyed being here, we had time out for a few years, going to Cornwall and Devon, but last year came back as been told they had done the place up. WOW - could'nt belive I had come to the same place.Must say the place is transformed, still no swimming pool for the kids, think they should look in this.Food at the Garden Centre across the road is still Fantastic ansd will be back, my only let down was the food at Woody's which is on site, It use to be 100% as good as the garden Centre. We were informed Chef was not in this night, so gave benifit of doubt and came back a few days later, it was just the same 6/10.We will be back, and hopfully they have improved on food, maybe there still learning the ropes.Keep up the good work and get that Pool in.

We were camping on the woodthorpe hall site, which is very good and would recommend to campers and caravanners alike, and decided to eat here. The biggest mistake of our stay. Starters were burned to a crisp, main course of lasagne had been nuked and was virtually inedible. They gave us a free sweet to compensate but the damage has been done. Stay away from the pub it is awful, food is terrible and the place smells of damp. Absolutely awful.

I had a disappointing experience at the Lincolnshire Poacher. The food quality was very poor and definitely not worth the price. To make matters worse, the customer service was unhelpful and unwelcoming. I wouldn’t recommend dining here and will not be returning. B Smith

Visited the crown and arrows and had the pleasure of meeting Polly. We come regularly as a family and bring our baby with us. She interacted with our little one and even gave him a toy “hungry horse”. Excellent member of staff, really made our evening with her kindness and witty jokes!!!
