We went for coffee and also had a scone, jam and cream each. The latter were superb although we were not expecting the scones to be warm (with cold cream). The coffees came in cups which were only 3/4 full, most of that was froth, being a cappuccino. Thus, one had to eke out the drink to last through eating the large scone. We'd have been better with a pot of tea perhaps. I had asked for a cafetiere but one was not available. Later I saw the waitress taking mugs of drink to other tables; these were not clearly on the menu which was a shame: I'll know next time. This has not put me off a return visit and the Sunday lunch looks interesting. Pleasant staff but not sure the music needs to be quite so loud. Gosh, I AM difficult to please!!

Where do I start? Food fantastic. Had a Christmas diner. Not too much on the plate to overwhelm. Enough to eat and feel comfortable. Atmosphere superb. Friendly happy staff, couldn’t do enough to accommodate. Tables cleared quickly and efficiently, not leaving “dirty plates” when making decisions about the next course. Couldn’t recommend the whole experience enough. A must go to place. THE TEA ROOM. Woodmeadow Garden Centre. Hannigton. A43.

Visited with my Mum today. Lovely, very reasonably priced tearoom. We had a tea and a coffee, in lovely China cups and a bacon roll each, which was delicious. Was a horrible rainy day today so didn’t get to enjoy seeing all the lovely animals that are there but worth going just for the the tearoom!!

Apprehensive over going out to treat sister in law for her birthday, Woodmeadow appealed to us. The isolation of our own space to spend celebrating over Afternoon Tea was ideal. Communication was excellent beforehand and reassuring. On arrival we were shown to a tastefully decorated summerhouse type building. Afternoon tea was simple in comparison to more pretentious places, but for that was also excellent value and well presented. Ample sandwiches, lovely cakes and delicious scones, and a bowl of very nice strawberries to mop up the excess of the fresh cream. Refills of tea and coffee were offered timely without prompt. This was our first venture out into normal life since lockdown and it was a superb tonic for the soul. No anxiety whatsoever! I highly recommend the Afternoon tea experience in your own space, we are planning a return visit as soon as possible. They even had “special staff “ come to clean up the crumbs!

Haven't been for some years and was really pleased with how the place has changed. Lots of different animals, sensible Covid layout and not too crowded. Been with family who have had bacon rolls and sandwiches all very nice. Also they offer boarding to animals including reptiles, my daughters bearded dragon settled well and will be back later this month. A little gem on the A43 and well worth a visit.

Simply amazing!!! Hidden gem. Came here today for my Mum’s birthday. To be honest, we weren’t expecting too much, but how wrong we were. The afternoon tea was amazing and so reasonably priced. We loved our own private cabin retreat, so much so, I now want my own cabin! My son loved all the animals and it was so sweet watching the mummy chickens keeping their chicks dry under their wings as we dined. Our waitress was really attentive and despite the inclement weather, a fantastic time was had by all. Thanks so much, we will definitely be back soon x

Needed somewhere to eat on way to Warner's gin tasting , saw this on line and the food was excellent and perfect for what we needed, but, the whole place is tired and in need of some TLC. Think it is family run , but just a few touches like sweeping the leaves out of the toilet cubicles and a general tidy up when not so busy would go along way. Small animal area which would be lovely in better weather .

We thought we would pop in here for lunch . The garden centre was deserted, and the tea room just had a couple of lads that were staff waiting for food. I ordered 2 x sandwiches, and 2 x chips, and 2x soft drinks. And then we waited!. We weren't surprised by this because it was so quiet we just thought, everything was being made from scratch. Our sandwiches arrived, and we were asked if we wanted any sauces. Vinegar and ketchup please I said, when the girl arrived back to the table she said. Are you having chips?. I didn't say this but I was Thinking " Urmm, yes that's what I ordered?". And then the wait began again. I had finished my sandwich when 1 bowl of chips arrived, sadly pale sad looking things. only just the colour of chips, and still hard inside!. I was picking through them, and eating the cooked ones, when some bloke in a Christmas hat announced from behind me. "Would you like some different chips?". "No, it's fine thank you, we need to be going" I said to this person. Then got up and went to the counter where the girl had already got the £14 plus, loaded into the card machine!!. We paid, and made a hasty retreat, as we got in the car we did consider why, when we had a discussion about whether to pop here or elsewhere, we had chosen here. I don't think we'll make that mistake again. ... We were the only customers there, how could they have got it so wrong.

Never been to the garden centre before and have to admit the inside shop does look a bit run down. The pet shop was good though - they seemed to stock just about everything. We visited the tea room of which was empty when we arrived. The menu was very traditional but they had minimal options for vegetarians/vegans. My only option was the soup, and I'm not sure if they didn't know what a vegan was, as the bread came with butter. So I am still not sure if what I ate was vegan... My partner had the full English which was huge and he said it was great. They had ran out of some items on the menu which was a shame and I ordered a juice drink which when it arrived was an odd cokour. The date on the neck of the bottle said 2017 so it was off. The waitress was very sweet though, we couldn't fault her helpfulness.

This afternoon at 3.30pm I took my two grandchildren for afternoon tea using a voucher my daughter had given me for my birthday. We were quickly seen by Sandra, who enquired what fillings we wanted in our sandwiches & a tray of tea & two Fairtrade apple juices arrived straight away, followed a few minutes later by a 3 tiered plate of sandwiches, scones, cakes & a bowl of crisps. My grandson even ate the crusts which he never does at home as the bread was so nice. The scones were delicious with generous pots of clotted cream & jam. Then we managed one cake each - Hannah & I had a very light Victoria sponge oozing with jam & Matthew enjoyed his Rice Crispie bar, & we were offered the chance to take the other cakes home.

Have driven by a few times and the place piqued my interest enough to go in. Time was 9.40 am, First impression wasn't good, looked ramshackle and a little run down from the front. Decided to go to the tea room for refreshments, large sign said "open" only when you got to the door it said in small writing "10-4", disappointed as I was gagging for a cuppa was then told by a member of staff the tea room wasn't open on a monday. Really?! Decided to go to Adele's reptile house at same venue only to find that was closed too, no mention of opening times anywhere. Was really disappointed as this was the main reason for visit. Don't know if I will bother again in future. From the revues I've read this place doesn't like to make money.

My friend and myself decided to visit the tea room for lunch today. We arrived slightly after 1.10pm to find that we were the only customers there and to be told by the lady behind the counter who was not that welcoming that there was no hot food available, what its lunch time. Okay its a warm day so probably a cold lunch would be acceptable. We were given a menu to look at and after finding a table my friend and I decided that we would opt for the afternoon tea only to be told by the miserable waitress that we had to book. (think she would have rather been somewhere else) What a laugh, it wasn't as if there were any other customers in, don't they want the business. My friend wanted to go elsewhere, but I persuaded her we should give it a try, so we both ordered a chicken and bacon panini and coffee. The food served to us was hot with a little chopped lettuce and vegetable crisps, however we were disappointed with the filling. If you order chicken and bacon you expect chicken and bacon, not a chicken and bacon sandwich filler which you can get from any supermarket for 79p.Well unfortunately we won't be visiting this establishment again and certainly won't recommend to friends. Sorry Woodmeadow but you need to get your act together.

Have been to a lot of different venues for afternoon tea and this is ok,nothing too exciting, ham x3 triangles and cheese x3 sandwiches.we was asked if we wanted a warm scone, which we did,it came with jam and cream, then there were 2 chocolatey small square cakes each,we was asked what we wanted to drink and we opted for tea served in a bone china cup and saucer enough tea for 2 cups each. The only thing is each time we've been there never has been anybody else there ,so atmosphere was nil. Nice tea but nothing exceptional. I booked a groupon for my friends birthday - decided to try somewhere new. The description on groupon read 'a traditional spread of sandwiches with scones and jam plus a selection of cakes and pastries and a choice of drinks'. We arrived to an empty cafe, no table laid and were told to sit where we liked. The lady then bought over a pot of tea and 2 cups (no choice offered). She then came over with a slate which held 3 ham sandwiches, 3 cheese sandwiches, 4 individual chocolates and 2 small, flat, out of a packet scones, a pot of jam and a pot of cream. No garnish to make it pretty, and certainly no cake/pastries. My face said it all. To double check I asked her if that's what we were getting for the £18 afternoon tea! She offered to get the manager. The manager was surly and rude and simply said that I could seek a refund from groupon. No customer service skills at all. I have since emailed to ask for the owners details only to find the owner is also the manager. She has done nothing to rectify the problems or even to suggest that she cares about her customers. We will not be returning.

Lovely gem of a place, just a few mins from M1 (why suffer motorway services?!). The chips are EPIC and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. Staff had lots to do when we were there, but they managed to sort us a walk-in table, in amongst the "Reserved" signs - clearly others already knowledgeable of this great place. Music speaker right by the till makes it a little hard to hear when you're ordering/paying, but that's the worst 'niggle' I can think of! Kids meal pricing worthy of note too - exceptional value.
