“Ridiculously good” was my son’s verdict about his burger at the Woodman’s cafe today! My daughter and I had the all-day breakfast, which was buy one, get one half price, and they were great as well. Quality ingredients, well cooked. The eggs had the yellowest yokes! I wish I’d known they had had hash browns as that would have made it perfect! This is such a great little cafe, brilliant for a bite to eat after a walk in the woods. It was raining today and we were nice and dry in their shelter. People don’t seem to know about them, but it’s great there! Go, eat good food, and support a local business!

Very friendly & speedy service. All day breakfast was lovely with great tasting sausages and eggs especially! Reasonable pricing and good selection. Very impressed!

Agree with previous reviews, went regardless of previous bad reviews as always willing to give local businesses a chance but shame to say we had the same experience. Rude and hostile. To see responses to similar reviews, perhaps look after your locals and they may well look after your business during the winter. Recent post about staff, when most of the comments are about a bearded man that runs the place, says it all.

Abrupt and unwelcoming staff!! If anything I would go as far as RUDE! Took myself & my little ones there. Wouldn’t go again…never felt so unwelcome in a cafe!! To top it off food was bland & anything but tasty (skimping to the max) Wouldn’t go back again. Which is a shame the location is fantastic! Love the woods…but wouldn’t recommend the cafe at all. Save your money & have a picnic in the woods! No wonder the cafe was quiet!!! Not a nice place at all

Sadly the seating area and flower troughs all look a bit sad and neglected. Not particularly welcoming, shame really as the number of car coming to the woods was huge on the Easter weekend. Potential mint to be made here. No toilets either which is a deal breaker if you have children.

I last visited here in 2019 and was very impressed. I returned Feb 23 and wow how it has changed! We received no warm welcome at all and felt very uncomfortable upon arrival. The place did not look in the same good condition as I remembered from my last visit and looked unloved. We didn’t even stay for a drink let alone food as we felt extremely unwelcome. Since then in just a week I have seen desperate posts appear on my Facebook begging for business and airing their marital issues across their business channels. Such a shame as this placed used to be a gem

Idless woods is a great place to walk dogs on a hot day, as there is plenty of shade and a nice stream to cool off in. The highlight is the Woodmans cafe in the car park. I had a granary bacon sandwich, served with a fresh tomato salsa, which took it to another level. My partner had a granary tuna mayo sandwich which was equally good. Two hazlenut iced coffees and a bowl of water for the dog completed a great snack that felt like a full meal. We hope to make this a regular visit in the future.

Fantastic location. Dreadful experience at end, with Woodman's Cabin reception barely short of hostile. Entirely agree with Rosieapple123 review.

We called at the cafe last week for a cup of tea and something to eat at the end of our walk in Idless Woods, but were disappointed to find it closed despite two big signs outside which said 'Open'. We hung around for a while in case the member of staff returned, but when no one appeared, we left. A shame, because on the strength of earlier Trip Advisor reports we'd looked forward to visiting this place.

We needed a decent walk after Christmas so we found Idless Woods on a walking app. After a most enjoyable walk for dog and humans, we went to the cafe for a drink. Baileys hot chocolate, mulled wine and superb black coffee + water for the dog, all in a lovely setting. We found the two ladies very friendly and will certainly be returning.

I was excited to grab a drink and snack from this lovely looking little cafe, so disappointed to be served by such a rude woman who I don't think even said hello or thank you. It takes a lot to leave a bad review as I always consider there could be good reason such as staff shortage, having a bad day, draining hospitality life etc but I can't think of a reason why she was so rude and unfriendly. We just ordered a few teas and their menu looked lovely, had a few great looking vegan options too. We were friendly and polite and we were met with huffing, eye rolls and lack of any good service which is a shame as I would imagine I would have otherwise been a regular local customer.

This lovely little cafe is where I invariably take a break on my weekly walk before the long hill home. Nice coffee amazing cakes. I was genuinely stunned to read the last post knowing the gentleman in question. As a celt myself I live in Cornwall and enjoy the happy banter. Sad the person felt abused but I simply can't imagine this was the intent.

We had a super full English breakfast there while on holiday in Truro, good service and lovely chatty owners. Picked it because it's tucked away and nestled in the trees in a valley off the beaten track. Very relaxed atmosphere and loved how rustic it is. Plenty of parking and looks like a good spot to go for a walk - be nice to end a walk with a coffee and cake. Would definitely go back.

We visited the cabin recently and was really disappointed with the attitude of the gentleman with a beard. He was very abrupt, no eye contact, could see we had been waiting ages for our order to be taken as he had walked past so many times but didn't say sorry I will be with you shortly. Asked if he had anything gluten free cake wise got a no sold out, the girl behind the till then said they had. Such a shame.

Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

On holiday for a week and we visited 3 times. First time was for a drink only, second for an evening meal and thenthirdnfir Sunday lunch. On all occasions, service was friendly, attentive (without being in your face or false) and courteous. Our evening meal was a beautiful piece of grilled haddock in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffled mac n cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Sunday lunch was probably the best I've ever eaten as a pub dining experience and I've eaten a fair few in my 59 years. We opted for the 3 meat version of beef, pork and turkey. The vegetable selection was interesting and perfectly cooked. The giant yorkshire pudding was delicious but for me, the roast potatoes and gravy were the jewels in the very large crown. There was no room for pudding but on our evening visit, we did share the amaretto chocolate torte, which was fantastic 😀. For the quality and portion sizes, I would say The Pityme Inn is excellent value for money.

Tasty - stopped in to grab a takeaway sausage roll and iced bun. Sausage roll was excellent and will be returning! Coffee was also good. Easy free car parking outside.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
