Wonderful food and such friendly and welcoming service. Could not have been better. Best bacon, sausage, egg butties we have had, possibly ever! The toasted buns were a hit with my twin daughters. Proper brews in a mug with wonderful views. So good we returned for brekkie the next day before heading south. Thankyou!

Stopped off at this lovely little establishment while waiting for the rest of the family to show up for a bit of swimming. We all grabbed a brew and some got sandwiches for the day, our host was absolutely lovely had plenty of time to have a chat and tell us the best areas to go to swim and was overall beyond pleasant! The food was fantastic and the drinks were bang on, perfect way to start a hot day in summer. (There is also toilets attached at the back to Woodie's)

I’ve cycled past Woodies hundreds of times on my way home after a ride into Yorkshire or Cumbria, but never stopped. However, out with a cycling buddy last weekend and on our way past we decided to stop. We both ordered a bacon barm and a mug of tea. The bacon barn was excellent, the brew a good one too. Friendly service and great food, what more could you want? I’ll be sure to call in next time I’m passing.

I’ve just come back from woodies and I have to say that the cheeseburger was absolutely delicious with the sweet chilli sauce, Mayo, onion and the way Lisa (the owner) makes it is absolutely something that must be tried at least once if you ever come to this beautiful little place, Caton (Lancaster). The burger was reminiscent of when I used have it at home when my mother would make some burgers for me and my friends growing up. Lisa is a lovely woman whom my girlfriend introduced me to as she is a local and has known Woodies for quite some time. Lisa is really a warm and welcoming person who is great to have a conversation with All in all Woodies will always be my go-to place to have a burger everytime I come to the area

We parked up for an early dog walk and when we returned we couldn't resist the smell of bacon coming from this little kitchen. The lady who served me and who cooked our we'll deserved butty was very friendly, chatting away to all the locals who were flocking in for food and hot drinks. The scenery was beautiful. The toilet block was clean. As a side note, it was VERY busy with dogs. Some of which were running around off the lead. In itself this was lovely to see but unfortunately our little border terrier doesn't always do very well around other dogs so we had to keep him in our vehicle.

If you are walking, cycling, carring or horsing along the River Lune, don't miss this little gem at the Crook of Lune. A joke and a big smile accompany an impressive range of coffee and teas (where even posh let alone a remotish shack has Earl Grey AND Lady Grey??) and the best bacon butties in the universe. My partner ordered one to share (they're generous but have your own if hungry), turned down the lovely lass behind the counter's willing offer to cut it in half before wrapping, gave me the un-lion's share and it was still sumptuous and big! And you can sit looking down the Lune to Ingleborough, a view famously painted by our very own Mr Turner.

My son is vegetarian. Took him to Woodies and he moaned, saying they had no veggie options. Staff were fabulous, and produced an egg, cheese and mushroom bap that so impressed him, he had another one. I love this place. Food is always cooked fresh, and is hot and tasty, tea also nice and hot and comes in a mug. To those worried about how food is cooked, meat is cooked at one end of griddle tray, which is large, so meat juices do not contaminate the vegetarian stuff.

We often go for a walk at the Crook O' Lune and last time I decided to get a Bacon Cheese Burger and it was delicious. There is usually a choice of white or brown bap and topped with onions I was pleasantly surprised in the quality of the Burger. Usually at Kiosks you tend to get cheap burgers and fatty bacon, but at Woodies it was lean back bacon no fat and the burger was quality. My wife had the Veggie burger and she also pleased with hers. They were both very reasonably priced also and I can recommend Woodies very highly, next time you are in the area. They are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the weekend visitors to the area

Hubby and I had been on a particularly long walk as we got carried away with the beauty of the area like you do when you find somewhere new. It was a case of let's walk a bit further-not wanting to miss anything and soak up the stunning views. Of coarse you have to walk all that way back and by the time we reached Woodies I was nearly faint with hunger, water finished long ago. These must have been the most memorable hot refreshments we have ever experienced for such a small food cafe. How they manage to satisfy so many is amazing. OK, you have to wait, its a very popular place people calling there all the time, even early doors, people on the way to work. But believe me, it is so worth the wait, good menu choice, reasonably priced. So two mouthwatering crispy bacon with egg barms, steaming hot coffee's later we're off and planing the next walk including Woodies.

I made a visit to Woodies as I had heard about the excellent food served at this little family run establishment and it certainly didn't disappoint. The choice of food and drink is great, I decided to go for a bacon and mushroom butty, I can honestly say it is the best bacon butty I have ever tasted!! The bun was lightly toasted before serving which is a nice touch and the bacon cooked to perfection. They obviously buy the best produce and you can tell the difference, my own bacon butties never taste like that! The other bonus is your cuppa is served in a proper mug not a polystyrene cup which are usually provided in such places. I finished off with a lovely piece of flapjack, yummy. It is evident that Woodies is very popular with locals too due to the steady stream of people visiting during the time I was there, local tradesmen too which is always a sign of good food. The service was great and staff lovely and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting 'Crook O Lune' for the best bacon butty looking out on one of the most beautiful views, in my opinion. Well done Woodies!
