Woodfield Farm in Doncaster

Visited on Sunday Nov 3rd with family. I ordered cheese onion potato pie.Crust was so overdone impossible to cut with knives available. by time I had opened top of pie chips were cold. Get the impression geared up for carvery .Fourth time been there and never had a hot meal yet.

Quick breakfast stop this morning with my friend, and I must say the breakfast was so lovely and very reasonably price but the staff Mandy, Bex & Daz just go above and beyond and their service levels are always really good! Will definitely return, thank you again 😷

Eight of us visited for Sunday lunch our daughters 50th birthday usually I enjoy the carvery here but was very disappointed the meal was only just warm hard roast potatoes Yorkshire puddings dry & hard to cut into very small portions of meat so will be giving it a miss in future

Over 30 of us in for breakfast this morning. Berni, Mandy and Donna looked after us very well. Good quality food. Good price.

I never write reviews but this place I would recommend to anyone 5* fantastic carvery lots of choice and all freshly made none of that warmed up from yesterday that a lot of places do. It’s a great pub great food great staff we will be back.

Lovely food and staff very attentive, served by the lovely bex who goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need, she was very welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble.

Family get together for breakfast. My whole family love it here. Always leave happy and full. Mandy is amazing and always looks after us all by making sure we have everything we need.

Lovely friendly pub staff are very welcoming. Food is delicious the pub is clean and very spacious. Ideal for wheelchair users. Staff are very helpful too. Unlimited breakfast is value for money. Unlimited tea and coffee at breakfast time. Certainly recommend

Regular at woodfield farm and the food was at the same high standard as normal, but we were unable to enjoy our food and had to leave with our food still in the plates. This was due to the level of flies in the restraunt. We were told by a member of staff, that the aircon was broken and as such, they had to have doors open because of the heat, letting flies enter at will. Realy stressful trying to enjoy your food. We originally sat in the family area then moved to seats to table 28 and the issue didn't get better.

Wow, All you can eat breakfast, great quality, great price,nice atmosphere and great service from Berni and Donna! What more could you ask for!! Be definitely coming back again, Thankyou guys

Mandy and Donna were fabulous hosts/servers, from the minute we entered the door we were greeted with a warm welcome and smile and served straight away. They were so lovely and chatty the best customer service! Had a lovely unlimited veggie breakfast, with the most beautiful home made sausages! 10/10

We had been to the nearby boot sale and were exhausted and in need of a Sunday roast, we were staying at the nearby Travelodge so really wanted somewhere close by. As it was about 12.45 on a Sunday we expected that it would be full, but luckily the lady on reception said that they had a cancellation, so we were delighted to be given a lovely big table by the window. The carvery was lovely, nice fresh yorkshire puds! I opted for the beef although there was a lovely looking gammon and turkey available. Sprouts, cauliflower cheese, brocolli and carrots all well cooked and not soggy. Very nice mash and best ever roasties. Server very attentive and asked if all was ok halfway through meal. Could not find fault at all. We will return when next in the area, thank you!

Called whilst visiting the area so never been before . Was seated by a friendly blonde lady so a good start . Menu looked good but when we went to order people pushing in queue. Maybe need separate queue for food and one if you only want drinks as one particular lady seemed to think was ok to push in as just wanted drinks and person serving just allowed this to happen . Was then told an hour wait for food unsure why as didn’t look particularly busy and number of things missing from menu . Didn’t want to wait an hour so chose the carvery . Only one person serving here so this also not the quickest food tasted nice but isn’t very well presented . Place is also a bit rundown and could do with a proper clean . Wouldn’t visit again

Had a couple of meals here during a weekend away. Food was good, nice portions. Staff were friendly. Good value for money.

We had our dog with us so sat outside by the dog watering station! Staff couldn’t have been more helpful- ordered via the app and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the excellent service!

We have eaten here twice in the past couple of weeks, food was good on both occasions as was the service. Would recommend using the app to order to save keep having to get up and pay at the bar. On a negative note the place is clean but is very tired and in need of refurbishment.

The 3 of us went for a lunchtime carvery. After ordering our drinks, the waitress return and said that our chosen beer was not available but they did have "John Smiths" (? John Smith's in a Greene King Pub). We decided to have lager, only for the waitress to return again to inform us that the chosen lager was also not available. Such a good start!The table was sticky from the sanitiser used. We had chosen the Carvery. We always avoid the Yorkshire Pudding, (lesson learned previously) as they start out crispy, but turn to rubber and inedible on the plate when gravy is added (too much baking powder used to make the pudding rise).After the too small plate was loaded with food and gravy it resembled an RTA on a plate, with the gravy running off of the plate and onto the floor while being carried to the table. The food was ok, but the presentation was poor. More like a canteen meal, than dining!

Great friendly front of house staff, we was greeted by a woman named Kelly, and waited on by the lovely Chelsea both ladies polite and friendly. We we're served by a gent at the bar who was very clear reading back the order and a different gent brought us our drinks, he was friendly and professional placing the drinks on the table both gents provided fantastic service. I ordered a carvery which was on point perfect, all 3 chefs spoke clearly and made sure everything was above and beyond with my meal, they kept a pregnant lady very happy.We had a kids ice cream which came straight away once we requested it, which was brought to us by a girl named Emma and we didn't wait long for that at all.Overall had a great afternoon, service was fast as it could be considering it being a busy sunday and we wasnt waiting long for anything at all. Very pleased will be back!

The food is good… but the food only arrives after asking multiple people multiple times what is happening, and even then it’s still a battle to get service!I sit writing review whilst waiting for my children’s desserts! The adults deserts came out half an hour ago, but we are still waiting for children’s ice cream and cups of f tea! We went out for a family meal, 4 adults and 2 children. We were asked if we wanted table service or to use the app. We opted for table service. The waitress came and took our order around 3:30pm. By 4:00 we still hadn’t received our drinks or meals. We asked the waitress, who rudely asked if we’d been to the bar to pay. We didn’t realise that was required, so went to the bar and paid. Drinks then arrived, but it took another half hour and asking staff twice where our food was.We finished our meals quickly, as we were starving by this point. I went to ask for a dessert menu, as we weren’t offered one, we then had to find a waitress to take the order. We asked for all desserts and 3 cups of tea to come out together. The adults desserts came out quickly, but the kids desserts and tea didn’t come out. We asked 3 members of staff where these were - and they eventually came out, after we asked to see the manager, almost 40 minutes after the adults had finished. From the moment arrived it felt like we were chasing up everything. Nobody came to check out meals were ok, or offer more drinks etc. The food was actually quite good - however we were so hungry that anything would have tasted good. The only food I didn’t think was very good was the chocolate brownie - which was like a large slab of chocolate sponge cake, and not brownie-like at all. We won’t be coming back for a while 2.5 hours to be served 2 courses is not acceptable!

Came out for a family carvery lovely food and lovely staff especially our server called Chelsea very friendly and polite.... give that girl a pay rise!!

We booked a table for 5. All the staff were professional and helpful. They have a great set up to make it as safe as possible to dine. It was lovely and clean. They didn’t have the dessert that my Mum wanted but the chef made up a dessert for her. All our main meals were really nice. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be coming back soon

The food here was absolutely lovely but what made it even better was the exceptional service from the staff - all of whom were kind, courteous and welcoming. I would like to specifically mention Mandy, the duty manager, who spoke so kindly and nicely to the staff working there. Times are a little stressful in terms of the additional, measures that need to be put in place but this did not show at all. It is so nice to hear managers be respectful to staff and create an environment you would want to work in. It was lovely to see!

Visited today with my work colleagues brussel sprouts were out of this world so juicy tender and delicious, they worked a treat on my colleagues bowels and was in the toilets relieving herself within 20 minutes of returning to the office , will definitely be back

The food was great ,but the service was unexpectedly I waved at a waitress 3times and she never came across , but Ruth was so lovely she sorted me out as soon as she noticed us still waiting

Visited just for a drink. A big seating area with lots of tables. We were shown to our table and told someone would be over to take our order. 10 mins gone and still no one. We had to go to the bar and ask a member of the team. They just couldn't be bothered to serve us. They seemed more focused on people eating. Doesn't seem very organised. Lots of staff just wandering around and not serving customers. It's a shame. Didn't have food so can't comment.

This has been my second visit in last three weeks with family. We all the carvary both times and it was beautiful. The service as always great and would recommend to everyone and would not go anywhere else in Doncaster. Thank you

Visited last week, food was lovely as always all the staff very welcoming Maisie was efficient in bringing cutlery and ensuring we were happy, food came fast and we didn’t have to wait long for the mains after our starter Will definitely be back soon

We used the app to order and sat outside to be vivid safe. We sent the food back as it was cold. We were offered replacement meals and complimentary drinks. Replacement was cold and we were asked to pay for the drinks. When we cancelled everything and asked for a refund we were told we had to go inside with a card to get the refund even though I said I had ordered on the app. I put on my mask and went inside. The manager (I assume) Jordan asked me what was wrong as he had not been made aware there was a problem (although I witnessed one of the waitresses saying to him ‘they send the food back because it was cold which it was’)Jordan struggled to do the refund on the till and had to be shown by another member of staff. He did not need my card and just told me it would be 7-10 days to get my refund and just to look out for it. So no lunch and a week to wait for my refund. Very poor.

Came here today mid afternoon. Well, very disappointed with the place- it’s nowhere near as good as it used to be. Was told to download the app as the food ordering would be faster, think that was an excuse to get us to download the app as it took 45 minutes to bring out two sandwiches and a kids sausage and mash. After waiting so long I got looking around at the place it seemed like it had not been deep cleaned, the walls were filthy, old sauce packets on the floor, streaky marks on the tables. Just looked old, dirty and run down. We heard other tables complain about the waiting time, especially for the Carvery. The food finally came, both had missing coleslaw and the lettuce had seen better days all black and shrivelled up. Asked for a coke with no ice, it came with ice. Tried to talk to a staff member as there was no number on our table she didn’t seem interested whatsoever and just say here is your drinks and walked off quickly. After we finished we waited a bit for kids ice cream to come that was included with the kids meal, no sign of it or any member of staff no one even came to clear the table or ask how we were. So we just got up and left. Disappointed and won’t return for some time.

Back after months of lockdown and can’t praise staff enough in these difficult times. Lovely breakfast and lovely staff! There are those who have criticised the extra time it takes for meals and they need to remember things are different now so treat staff properly!

Mixed grill was awful steak ok sausage had better on skeggy market, really poor quality meat, wife had fish n really enjoyed it sought ya sausage out

Helen, I know it is true that there are people in this world that are more easily angered than others, so it is too bad that you were triggered during your visit and as a result your breakfast was ruined. For me, I would look at that family with hope and light and be relieved to see that there are still functioning families where the young and old come together over a meal. I am curious why you would venture out to a public eatery if you were so concerned about your health. Perhaps there are deeper issues within your own life that stirred you to resentment towards this family? Perhaps you have open wounds which need addressing if you are going to stoop to the level of lambasting a local company for simply trying to stay afloat in these times when all things pure and local are being shut down? Hats off to the family, hats off to Woodfield Farm for continuing to do their best despite this time when people are under so much mental stress that they lash out on others. I have not visited Woodfield Farm and I do not know anyone there, but I am going to be in touch and hope to visit when I get out of Huntsville. It looks beautiful!

Came for breakfast yesterday and was disgusted to see a large, extended family all seated together on the same table eating. 6 adults (including grandparents) and 2 children. This is clearly breaking the law as at present no families are allowed to meet either inside or outside regardless of rule of 6.Breakfast was ok and served to table but paid over £6 for sausage, bacon, hash browns and beans. No chance to revisit the buffet which is a shame as I didn't want the other items. Definitely won't be returning until this company plan to follow the law and adhere to rules put in place to keep us all safe! Utter disgrace

we visited woodfield farm lastnight after not going out for well over 6 months due to covid, having an extremely vulnerable child at home i was terribly anxious being out in public in a pub.I was greeted by andrew who knew i was anxious & worrying & made me feel at ease and much better, he talked us through track & trace, he then seated us out of the way of anybody, explained we would be fine the table had been cleaned etc, he also said if we needed anything give him a shout to avoid going to the bar, i am very thankful to him & his customer service was brilliant. i thought he was the manager! made me feel much easier about it. please send him my thanks! The place was very clean & could see they were strictly following a covid safe plan, the food was amazing & we were served very quickly.we will certainly return!

Visited for breakfast during eat out to help , greeted at door taken by Kelly filled in all Covid form and eveverything explained , good social distancing, paid at bar then tables taken to counter when clear .Chef served breakfast all you wanted behind screen and tea and coffee fetched to your table,very attentive staff all wearing shields,was so impressed,we booked for evening cavery a few days later and it was just as good distancing and hygiene .

Family visit never been won't return. Man on the door was rude entered asked if had covid whi h I understand why but when we said no he said he would hope not which we don't and wouldn't go out if we did. We got sat and waited ages for a high chair which we had to re ask for. My son is still waiting for his colouring in lmao. We got a Sunday lunch for my son who is 2 I paid for kids meal.£5 ish as was that or 2.99 for just veg. Was horrible tasteless and dry. My husband had a burger which he enjoyed with his pint. I had chicken n ribs were okay not much to it for the price. And the man who come and served us was a little rude when he noticed I asked for no slaw as I'm fussy which I had to explain to him .

Came in on Saturday for a family meal and was greeted at the door and shown to a table, all the safety precautions were explained when we was sat down. Could not fault the food or the staff! All the staff was wearing PPE, ive been into a few different places where they have not bothered with that. We felt so safe and reassured we will all be back very soon.

Really disappointed. Food was awful . lasagna was terrible, the carvery was tasteless and the cake was dry as bone . Don’t waste your time and money . Quite possibly the worst food I have ever experienced . Only positive was staff where nice

I Lovely afternoon taking advantage of 50% off food and such a nice carvery. Much credit to Shane who sat us down, what a lovely lad and very professional, he made great effort and kids absolutely loved him.

Came here with family this evening and honestly cannot express how safe and welcoming you all made us feel regardless of how busy you were. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. We was met at door by Shane who showed us to our table and explained the new safety systems, he did also explain the restaurant was very busy and if we had any issue to just give one of the floor staff a shout. We ordered the food at the bar and was told it was a 45 minute wait on food which didn’t bother us as the pub did look very busy and I can understand with this offer on a lot of people want to take advantage. Food was lovely and the young man who brought us the food was friendly and didn’t just throw our food down like most people would in a busy time. Desserts were amazing, a table next to us complained due to size but we ordered 2 slices for 4 of us and we couldn’t manage it all and was offered a take out box. There is absolutely no reason to complain about food size/timings when we’re not even paying the full price. I believe the team was faced with a lot of selfish people this evening but it didn’t show to bother them when dealing with other customers. We loved it and we will be back. Keep doing what you’re doing Woodfield. People love to moan regardless of what you do

Disappointed with the experience. Lack of choice on the menu, many dishes unavailable. Chicken korma lacking in chicken. The sweet cabinet displayed mouthwatering cakes but the cheesecake was out of stock so ordered knickerbocker glory. The cost was £4.75. When it finally arrived It considered of 2 scoops of ice cream. A squirt of clotted cream, 3 small pieces of peach. Needless to say we sent it back.

I’m absolutely disgusted and genuinely shocked as a regular at Woodfield Farm, a family of 8 of us came and we were made to sit outside in the cold for an hour with two babies with the promise that we would be able to sit at the next available seat. We kept seeing families walk out with after 10 minutes and for the remainder of the time we were there with no one walking in to replace them (hearing a couple of them complain about the service on the way out too), but still had no offer of a table. The woman who called herself the manager, Kelly Donnelly kept walking out and saying that there were no seats but when we walked in to buy our drinks we could see a lot of tables free with 8 seats available, I had told Kelly “what about that table?” To which she replied “ We can’t do that because baby prams aren’t allowed” to which I had found quite surprising since I usually visit with my baby who sits in his pram and could clearly see prams in the establishment...through the window from outside, furthermore if we couldn’t sit at a table with 8 seats why was she keeping us waiting out in the cold and rain?? Honestly feels really cruel.Kelly said we close at 9 anyway and aren’t serving and food which on the website it says 11pm and we could see people eating! It felt like this was said to make us feel unwelcome and leave. She also said 6 people max to which a friendly guy behind the bar assure me it was 8 max.After having this conversation and going to the bar I saw the manager Kelly Donnelly walk behind the bar after us, she was speaking to her staff and whilst talking to them they were all staring at us which made me feel very uncomfortable and it was obvious she was talking about us and I believe this was done on purpose to make me feel that way. After seeing this I had explained my side of the story (not that I should have to) and had asked for the correct outlet to make a formal complaint which led her to give me this email address, she then came back 20 minutes later saying we can make a table available for you... is that what it takes to get my family a table inside and out the cold at a pub that wasn’t even busy at the time? What a world we live in. I will be using more outlets to share my story as I don’t believe she even gave me the right email address with how dishonest and unethical she was.

I’m staying at the Holiday inn express across from Woodfield Farm on business and I must say it’s been excellent food every time, cannot fault the carvery one bit! By far one of the best I’ve experienced. I visited again today and was talking to Emma, one of the waitresses and she is such a lovely girl. I complimented the whole team to her, and loved the fact she referred to her colleagues as being more of a family than a team. Although all the staff have been very busy when I’ve called in, they will always stop and have a small chat to make you feel so welcome. Huge compliments to Emma and all the staff at Woodfield Farm, keep doing an amazing job through these tough times.

My friend had not been out since lockdown and cried in the car when we arrived as she was really frightened.we walked in and shane on reception made her feel safe and relaxed and explain all the measures they have put in place. As the meal went on she relaxed and enjoyed the great mealbwe had and in the end agreed to come again the next weekThank you Woodfield not only great food but also excellent staff. A special thank you for Shane for his patience with my friend he went the extra mile.

Having dined here with family many times previously we thought that we’d revisit after lockdown - bad decision. On line booking was easy. Met at door and had new Covid procedures explained but also warned that they had an issue with flies in the building. Having driven for two hours to meet relatives we had little choice but to proceed. Tables were distanced and staff appropriately dressed in PPE. Food was disgusting. Carvery meat ok but Yorkshire Puddings resembled concrete. Red cabbage was lumps of plastic in foul chemical sludge. Thoroughly disgusting experience. Even with low original cost and government discount this was not value for money, especially as we were constantly having to swat away dozens of flies that plagued the restaurant. Surely there are catering devices designed to eliminate fly infestation. During our stay several outside tables had food cleared when diners left but no cleaning of tables took place. Did see some table cleaning done inside but no cleaning if other high touch surfaces. Definitely an experience not to be repeated.

Visited today, and all I can say is we will definitely be returning. All staff appropriately dressed in PPE, safe distancing measures adhered to at all times. Thank you to Shelly on the door for explaining new guidelines to us. Long wait for carvery which was slightly disappointing, but Emma dealt with this promptly and assured us the wait wouldn’t be much longer. Safe and friendly staff all round, made us all feel so welcome.

Me and my husband visited the establishment tonight and must say the staff here are an absolute credit to the company. We were seated in the far end of the venue with Emma as our waitress for the night and she really went above and beyond to ensure all of our questions were answered to the best of her capabilities. We were unsure on a few things regarding the new one way systems and guidelines in place and she assured us throughout our visit that we were extremely safe. Although we could see she was very busy, she made sure every customer were comfortable and catered for to an excellent standard. After a short chat with Emma while she was clearing our dinner dishes, I discovered she had only recently joined the team at Woodfield Farm, to which me and my husband were rather astounded, she seems very knowledgeable and confident in her job and within herself. I must also give credit to the young lady that was momentarily assisting Emma clearing tables, and ensuring things were kept on top of (Brook I believe to be her name). She was very attentive to customers needs and both girls worked really well together to ensure all guidelines and safety measures were adhered to. Service with smile sure is an understatement at Woodfield Farm. The staff and these girls in particular are a real credit to the management. Thank you for an outstanding meal and a huge thank you for making us feel so safe and welcome during these difficult times. Will definitely be visiting again soon

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across from the pub for a week and went in every day.Front of house staff as you go in were excellent with the Covid checks and hand sanitisers were always topped up, then the in house staff took you to your table with good social distancing. This continues with taking the items off the tray the staff bring to your table yourself and a one way system.Carvery is great value and lots of choice of veg and Turkey, beef and gammon for meats. Quality is really good and service also, definitely recommended. Main menu also good, we really liked the burgers and topped chips and the chicken tikka masala was also good.Cakes . Well what can you say, a massive slice of gorgeous.cake for such a great price. We bought a couple of slices first time for 3 of us and we had to take it.back to the hotel and finish off the.next day due to sizeUsing the app was also easy although for some reason the breakfast buffet isn't on it but they are working on it.Can't fault the staff and will definitely be visiting again and many thanks for such an enjoyable week

We have just thoroughly enjoyed a delicious carvery meal here. Special shout out to Craig on the Carvery who went out his way to steam me some fresh vegetables without butter, as I have been intolerant all my life, and served a very tasty dinner. He is an absolute credit to you! Thank you! Also must mention Shane who is lovely and friendly doing a magnificent job. All staff here worked professionally with care and diligence. Cannot remember everyone's name but they all played their part in keeping us all safe and well informed re sanitisation and safety. I will not hesitate to come back again and hope the management team recognise the talent they have. Great choices and quality of food too. Many thanks again!

Lets be honest, the annoying situation has ruined the whole experiance.Atmoshere just isn't the same, everything feels rushed and the personal touch by staff is lost.Staff doing an excellent job though.The food is well cooked and carvers doing their best.still very cost effective though. some nice food on the counter. shame the selection on the cake away is lower then usual. think the quaility is going down though.

Lovely meal with the family tonight, 22/7, was great to be back, sat in the children’s side, staff are very friendly Shane who seated us was great, food was served quite fast considering how busy it was, only point I would make is maybe need an extra staff member the young girl was run off her feet when everyone left one after another we could see up into the other section where a man in a shirt, a manager maybe?, was helping the girl on that side but he never came down to help the woman on our side we really felt for her but she managed to get it all clean along with ensuring all guests were happy, other than that it was a great meal and all extra precautions in place are fabulous, great job!!

What can I say about this place never been before and Breakfast was excellent and fast service from all staff. But my main point was a young man call (Shane) who seated us at are table he was very kind, very professional and explained every about the one way system and about the app and still welcome to order at the bar if not comfortable using the app you can see he as been doing front of house years CREDIT TO THE BUSINESS.

Into my 2nd week back with GK as a Pub Safe Monitor finally had a day off so decided to pay a visit to see how everyone was getting on here. All PPE worn very clean all correct proceedures in place Well Done Dave Daz & Crew Carvery still going & actually prefer it way it is. Everything fresh & was lovely washed down with a lovely San Miguel Hope like all of us at GK things pick up. Stay Safe Keep Smiling Well done team be very proud in these trying times hope to be back with you all again in my normal job entertaining everyone. Thanks Guys x

Wonderful to be back for breakfast after lockdown. Lovely friendly staff and excellent well prepared food. Like coming home Thankyou everyone!

My husband and I had been in isolation for 4 months and this was our first meal out since the lifting of restrictions. We were a bit nervous but were reassured by all the precautions taken in this comfortable restaurant. All the staff were friendly and helpful and our food was served speedily. We enjoyed our meals, we both had the large portions of crumble for dessert, it was delicious! This was a relaxing experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you and well done everyone

We needed to have a meal out as our kitchen is being re-fitted, Woodfield Farm has been a favourite for a while now. I was dreading restrictions but everything went so smoothly I almost hoped it would stay with restrictions but it obviously can't be making a decent profit. The staff met you at the door, arranged for someone to show you to your table. The staff were really lovely, I'm sure they were happy to be back at work. The carvery was perfect, you show your ticket to the serving staff who fill your plate for you and they don't hold back, I couldn't quite finish my meal. The beef and gammon was so tender it was spot on. We had one of their huge eclairs to take home for supper time, a perfect end to the day. We will definitely be back soon.

Today is the first time we've been out for a family meal since the Coronavirus lock down started back in March and it was a lovely experience at The Woodfield Farm. We we're met by a lovely team member at the main entrance who showed us the hand sanitizer stations and briefly explained how things would now work then we were handed over to a team member inside who showed us to our table and advised us how to order. It's very simple, you download the company app, register, order and pay, they then bring your drinks and food to your table. If you order carvery your team member will advise you when it's suitable to go up to the carvery to be served so to avoid queues and they're happy to work this around receiving any meals you may have also ordered from the kitchen. At the carvery it works almost the same other than the team member serving your food also plates up your choices from behind a screen then hands you your meal at the end of the carvery. You can still order as many drinks as you like all via the app and even order your cake away! Guest numbers are massively reduced, regular cleaning takes place with disposal menus and condiments, toilets are one in only at a time and it's a one way in and one way out system throughout, all to maintain social distancing.What a lovely family Sunday afternoon we've had for our first meal out! The pub had only reopened a couple of days so we booked a table for breakfast, when we arrived at the entrance a member of staff wearing PPE greeted us and took our name, asked us to sanitize our hands explained the new procedure, then another member of staff took us to our table, I ordered at the bar and drinks were brought over, we had our normal muffin breakfasts which as always were excellent .I have to say Greene king have really done their utmost best to make it as safe as possible ,all staff were wearing PPE and the staff undertook their new jobs very professionally, what a contrast to the half arsed attempt at Wetherspoons.

Lovely place, good place eat, always plenty of free parking, food is very good lots of choice staff are excellent prices not bad.

Had the chicken combo meal and was terrible the chicken was ‘cooked’ awful, very watery! Do not go here

Met with the ladies from church for breakfast, an excellent price £4.99 for a buffet, they offer a small, medium or large plate with unlimited tea/coffee and toast. To be honest I did see people with small plates with a great talent in stacking bacon eggs and the rest of it ahah yes they got their money’s worth. There was a good selection, all kept freshly topped up, the only thing we would change is to book ahead in future as there was around 12 of us and we had to sit separately, however I did see others with tables moved to accommodate. We will return and certainly recommend, we sat chatting until we realised people where returning to their table with Yorkshire puddings as we had stayed well into lunch time

We are not from the area, and only found this pub as it was opposite the hotel we checked into, went for the carvery and wasnt disappointed, whilst enjoying our food saw other meals going out of the kitchen of meals from the menu and they looked just as good, choice of puddings was amazing, but was full from carvery so no room for more, staff were very friendly and great to have banter with, made to feel like a regular which was really nice, if we ever end up back in the area we would be sure to go again. Menus on tables for vegan’s with a good range to choose from.

Visited mid week tea time. Carvery service could have been a tad quicker. Had to request more fresh hot veg but they replaced promptly was a pleasant visit plenty of food serviced

We normally come for a carvery. But as it is valentines we thought we would have a change and we both ordered hunters chicken. The chicken was dry and tasteless whilst also being burnt. The Texas bbq sauce also somehow tasted burnt. The bacon was a poor excuse for bacon. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri the bartender said that they don’t know how to make it! They then put a cheap tasting syrup concoction in with a strawberry slush. We were very very disappointed.

I visited this place about 3 years ago.Then i complained about the carvery vegatables, as the carrots cold swimming in water, cabbage soggy etc.we decided to visit again after many year for the carvery. Well nothing much changed the carrots were soggy the red cabbage literally swimming in waterno taste, parsnips hard in the centre.Nothing changed after all these yrs. Only the desert was nice.dissapionted yet again.

So.... i've been to this establishment Multiple times. Never have i ever been so disappointed as i was yesterday. the meat was Tough, The veg had not been replenished and had dried up, the mash potato tasted burnt, and the gravy was like water. really not good. Anyway, i found a piece of plastic in my mash potato, went to the till to let the staff know, i also requested a refund as i had only eaten a Quater of it, because it tasted so bad, plus ofcourse i had now found this piece of plastic.. the cher came out and said, it more than likley a piece of dried potato! Darling, i know what a piece of plastic is and a dried piece of potato feels like... So, after some words with the manager, i got my refund plus a slice of cake and was on my merry way, never to return.

Came out for a bit of retailing so popped into the Woodfield for lunch a bit disappointed that my first choice mixed grill wasn’t available so had gammon with all the trimmings. Yvette had the chicken tikka with half and half. Bought a bottle of wine for Yvette brought home what she didn’t drink with her meal whilst I had a large Diet Coke. Food well presented and hot, drinks meadium priced and staff very attentive. So all in all a good lunch for u;dear £35...

Had a great day with my family here. Everyone was so helpful and David was a great singer! Couldn't tell it was his first day at all.

Come here today for something to eat to try something different in between the glasses being dirty and the carvery being cold and my children don’t wanna eat it never know anything like it

On the evening of 20th January, I called to book a table for 9 people for Sunday 26th at 1pm... After the member of staff that initially answered was not sure what a "reservation" ment she hurried the phone to another member of staff.. (not knowing I was now speaking to management)... After a lengthy discussion I was left thinking this reservation has not been taken correctly, I asked him to read the booking back, 20th January 1pm... It was 8pm already and the 20th.. he failed to even write a contact number down even tho he asked for one. ...

After coming here for many years to celebrate mine and my 2 Brothers' Birthdays, we have experienced an awful service from the initial booking up to leaving the premises for our celebratory meal.

Came here last year and wasn’t fantastic but it’s definitely changed a lot, just wanted to say how impressed I was with my experience, had to wait for a table but didn’t mind, got seated by Dave in the section to the left of the entrance, me the wife and kids, staff were friendly on the bar when ordering, we all had carvery couldn’t complain, except of course the wife did, she’s a woman haha, only about her meat tho mine was same and was fine the young girl abbey couldn’t of been more apologetic even offered to go and get her another slice of her choice, she then got the kids ice creams to save us queueing, to say she was only a young en she was a very good waitress the opposite of some rude ones we’ve seen else where, Will definitely be coming back again soon, well impressed!
