Great hotel, staff were super efficient and really friendly. Was in Doncaster with work. Hotel was very pleasant, nice rooms and the food was excellent.

Was told food was lovely. Was looking forward to taking out my daughters and granddaughters out. Had the platter. Pork was nice, the beef was a non entity and the chicken was so dry. One waitress was quite helpful but the other was so miserable, asked us if everything was OK but hadn't received our meal yet??!! Won't be going back!!

Loud buzzing coming from room, kept us awake, bar person and security guard wouldnt answer a simple question about his ear peace, got very defensive for no reason i was very friendly, must work for mi5 omg

Beautiful Christmas Dinner, excellent variety of hot vegetables to accompany your choice of meat or poultry, generous portion of meat and roast potatoes. Seafood platter for starters was fabulous and my choice of cheesecake for dessert was yummy. Christmas pudding and chocolate brownie were alternative choices. Only downside was we were called to our table one hour after our booked sitting time. Two children in party were most well behaved despite the wait.

Once more a wonderful Christmas menu lunch. We always choose the Regent for our Art Group's Annual Christmas lunch. They never fail to deliver a good quality, well presented meal. The Christmas pudding is the nicest I've ever tasted. The staff are very friendly and Simon is always on hand checking that everything goes smoothly. The room is nicely decorated and comfortable.

Fantastic Thai food and fantastic service from. Thai special was prepared by Tarn and was AMAZING, beautiful spicey and well balanced. Sercice from Rayner was wonderful as always. Never have a bad experience at the Regent and i love coming again and again.

Stayed here for 2 weeks for training in my new job, the food is absolutely amazing. Thai green curry is so tasty, recommend the lasagne too. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

Booked table for pre show dinner and drinks, very disappointed from start to finish. Was expecting the nice warm welcome you get on Sunday. Didn’t happen Bar staff seemed very stressed, she was abrupt not very helpful. Food ordered was not to the standard of the Sunday lunch, Ribs were cold, Chicken strips tepid, Main course of pie n chips did not look appetising , had a disaster with scampi not sure what but chips were cold and peas were like bullets. All the staff seemed to be in a rush looked very stressed, rushing round, not like the standard we have come to expect, wasn’t even busy for this kind of service. Two tables of four one table of six. Definitely visit again for Sunday lunch, will not be returning for evening menu.

Had several dishes from the menu over 4 nights and each was served promptly, got and offered variety and taste at a reasonable price. The portions were large and dessert was only sampled once as a result! Excellent choice although the specials board needs updating as the choices were not available any more. This did not detract at all from the meals.

Hotel czysty , w pokojach świeżo , duże wygodne łóżka , dobrze , ze jest czajnik i suszarka do włosów . W holu było kilka elementów wystroju bardzo nadgryzionych przez czas ale na jedna noc może być . Dobre śniadania i bardzo miła obsługa .

As a vegetarian I so often have to accept second best, but not so here - the Thai green vegetable curry is delicious and very authentic. The chef is obviously very proud of the dish as both times I have had it, she has come out and asked me if I have enjoyed it and if the heat was about right (I did and it was).

We've not been for just under 2 years and we thought we'd come back and try one of our favourite dishes the Chinatown Stir fry. We walked in and Rayner remembered us from all that time ago and was as wonderful and accommodating as she was before! We noticed that the Chinatown stir fry wasn't on the menu. So we asked Rayner and she asked Ellen the chef to come out who also remembered us, even the preference on how we used to have our food! She said that it had been taken off the menu but had no problem making it up with what she had got in the kitchen. So they cooked it specially for us and it was absolutely beautiful! I cannot recommend the food or staff enough! They are absolutely wonderful! Thank you ladies!

Had a lovely meal with friends last night in the restaurant, choosing the Tomahawk steak sharing platter for 2 .. the steak was delicious and presentation excellent ! Will definitely be back for this again,great value service fantastic ! And then you get to enjoy drinks In one of the bars ! Perfect night out ! Thank you

26 Years ago we spent our Wedding night here, so decided to come for a meal for our Anniversary. Greeted by Lee the Manager who instantly made our night even more special for us with his good interpersonal skills. The food was fantastic, and it brought back happy memories of the Regent from 26 years ago, another member of staff Lamin also took the time to look after us which completed our night, definitely coming back and would recommend this place for a nice night out, Thank you to the Staff of the Regent.

We booked a pre-theatre table for 5 at the Regent Bar and Grill, as the location is convenient to attend Cast Theatre. It’s been a long time we have been at the regent, and I am glad we returned. Customer service was exceptionally good, from the moment we booked. The dining room is quaint and beautifully decorated, as is the bar area. The quality of the food on offer was of high standard, and nicely presented. We experienced one of best front of house experience we have had in a long time in the Doncaster area. These guys really get hospitality and catering! We will definitely return and recommend the place to everybody.

Ate here with my friend today and the food overall was excellent. We had rib eye steak which was cooked just as requested and delicious as were the home made chips and onion rings. The sweet chilli chicken was also equally good and we finished off with sticky toffee puddings. Raine was really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. We were made to feel very welcome. Compliments to Martin the chef who served the food to perfection. There is a very varied menu available and I would say the food is good value for the quality provided. It is a while since I have eaten here but hope to return soon.

We did not stay at this hotel but booked a family evening meal in Feb 2019. The bar man was so friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. He did everything he could to accommodate our wishes. The food was brought out beautifully presented and all of us really enjoyed our meals. The chef even came out to see us and check that the meals were ok. All in all a lovely meal and outstanding customer service! We will certainly be returning!

We booked table in restaurant, only us in, table not set nicely no table cloth etc. Disappointed with menu. Waiter took order quickly and food was OK but nothing special, definitely not restaurant quality. This room was also breakfast room for hotel and staff were setting up tables for breakfast which made us feel rushed.

Should have know it was going to be terrible when we were informed that most of the menu wasn't available. There were 3 tables in the restaurant yet it took over an hour for us to receive our starters (one of the other tables had received their starters, mains and bill during this time). When asked for a wine menu it took 30 minutes and a polite reminder to finally receive it. We also witnessed the waitress slap the waiter on the restaurant floor during this time. The food that finally arrived was average, not worth the price. We had vouchers to spend from a previous complaint (from a party not restaurant experience so we were optimistic about the visit), therefore didn't see the point in complaining again as we wouldn't go back. Don't waste your time, go elsewhere and actually enjoy your experience

Meal very expensive for what you got. Menu brought to you in the bar everything on was on a large a lamanated card. When seated we asked for some ketchup which was brought in a half empty Heinz ketchup bottle the vinegar was also in a shop bought bottle it used to be a very nice place to eat but has gone down .will not be eating there again

If I had been told on booking that the restaurant was not open and my table was to be in the bar I would not have booked. Despite having forwarded our meal choices prior to our arrival one starter was omitted and we had to wait for it to be cooked and then it arrived without the dip. The salad garnish was brown, wilted and in my case dirty. Mains were good but we were dependant on the barman for service [no waiter] and consequently service was really slow. We had to request dessert after a good 15 minute wait we were only offered a choice of two items. Needless to say we declined.

Great atmosphere made the better by the staff. Rayna is so friendly and efficient. We were looked after all afternoon with our food and drink orders - a personal touch; no need to stand at the bar. . The food was delicious. Just a lovely afternoon all round. Thank you to all the staff.

We have been at the Regent several times in the evening to watch the excellent live band Acoustic Angels, and my wife spotted details of Sunday lunch and we decided to give it a try. It was superb!

Visit with family for Sunday lunch and found the staff welcoming and polite. Food was beautiful and staff were more than accommodating when I asked for a doggy bag for left over beef for my dog.

La reserva había sido 6 días antes, así que tuvieron nuestros pedidos (16) había un bistec que falta en su lista, una carbonara que parecían col y cebollas, lados y salsas tenía que ser pedido varias veces y para rematar, sólo había 5 postres disponibles para 16 personas! ! ! Aparentemente el nuevo chef no habían tenido oportunidad de pedir más. Fue dejado a una joven camarera para decirnos acerca de los postres. Éramos las únicas personas en el restaurante, así que no es como si fueran ocupados que sin duda no volveremos.

Doncaster Speakers ordered a hot buffet meal for 20, the food was outstanding. Lasagne, vegetable curry, chips, salad. Perfect. Service great too. The Regent continues to be a superb place to meet and eat. Highly, highly recommend.

Fabulous atmosphere in restaurant, staff couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble for them, wish we had eaten there on the first night of our stay.

We enjoyed a very basic but tasty dinner in the hotel's restaurant, although my daughter lasagne was partly spoiled by being a little overdone and hard in places :( Would happily eat there again though.

I have been a few times here,for weddings mostly,but i do not recomend the food,it was very little and it was also cold and very tasteless,i will not be going again.

Me and my hubby stayed here to go to the races, when we checked in it was quick and easy, the car park is very tiny so if you have a massive car then wouldn't recommend parking in there, the staff at lunchtime was very welcoming, we handed our room key over at reception while we went to the races, but when we came back it was a different man on reception, I only told him our number and didn't question it! I could have asked for any key!!! The evening staff wasn't as welcoming and the food was a let down! Home made chips? Nope they wasn't! The garlic bread with cheese and tomatoe was more like a margarita pizza, the steak wasn't very nice either, was a shame really cos the food at lunchtime looked beautiful! Our room was massive and very clean, I would stay here again but wouldn't have our evening meal here

We arrived at 3pm for our Mother's Day meal, the room that we were in was very stylish/modern and had a lovely feel about it. The starters prawn cocktail, pâté and soup were lovely, main course was roast beef and there was plenty of choice, then desert was gorgeous. Staff were so friendly and helpful, didn't wait too long for food either, came within good time. Overall brilliant day!!

Three of us called in for an informal business lunch and were impressed by the service, the quality of the food and the broad choice of dishes available. We enjoyed three different lunches - fish and chips, hot chicken salad and a burger with chips - and these were all perfectly prepared and attractively presented, with a smile and excellent service. We will definitely eat here again.

We had our works Christmas lunch here in December. The quality of the food was outstanding for the mere cost of £17.95 per person for a 3 course meal with tea or coffee to finish. The vegetable soup & homemade pate was a winner for all my colleagues. The traditional Christmas dinner was also cooked to perfection. Turkey or beef & Yorkshire pudding was the main choice for our party. I'm so glad I chose the beef, it was so tasty & tender,...to die for. A medley of roasted root vegetables, greens, potatoes & rich gravy accompanied the dish. The homemade cheesecake & fruit compote for me just rounded off a fantastic meal. The Christmas pudding was also a winner for the others.I couldn't wait till Mothers Day for the set menu, so tried the lunch menu in the bar yesterday with my family. Again, it did not disappoint, with good selection on the menu, friendly staff & talented chef, I'm so glad we have found this little gem. We will be eating at The Regent more often.

I came here for a meal with some family the other day and they went to the trouble of making the food that we asked for specially for us without a problem, the food was amazing and the service was even better and extremely friendly, they made you feel at home, if you are wanting to either stop over or go in for a nice quiet meal i would advise you go here.

Staff very friendly, wine choice poor, food was good for a Christmas party night, not sure if I'd dine there on other occasions though. Ladies loo in restaurant side was awful smelt bad of blocked drains. Despite the negatives had a good night as staff were great and chef made clear effort to come out and chat to diners too.

Myself and 2 friends recently attended for our Christmas meal, this is the second time we have used the regent for this purpose. Fantastic and friendly service, very reasonably priced and deliciaous food. Looking forward to 2016's visit already :)

My colleagues and I held our Christmas night out at the Glitz and Glamour Ball at the Regent Hotel - what a great night. The bar area was buzzing when we arrived. The 3 course meal was served in two seatings - our was the 8.30 seating so with our drinks we were given £50 fun money each to play with on the roulette table (great guys on there - good fun). The food was fabulous - piping hot and really delicious, and lots of it - especially the accompanying roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. Our tummies full it was time to dance the night away and although there wasn't a DJ per se (the bar staff had a laptop linked to the sound system but top marks for serving drinks and doing that pretty seamlessly) the music was great - from all eras and the dance floor was never empty. We will definitely return for another night out - we all agreed it was fantastic.

We were badly let down by the pub on the other side of the street. I had booked Christmas lunch for 10 at the salutation over a month before, confirmed by email. I checked everything was ok 2 hours before we were due to arrive, only to be told there had been an error with the booking, they couldn't accommodate us. Some of our group have particular needs, I knew there would some very disappointed people. I went across the road to the Regent, told them of our predicament, at such short notice, they said they would accommodate our group. The food and service was first class, the price fair and the choice varied. The Regent provided a brilliant service at such short notice, everyone was very impressed.

Sorry to say but this Pub Restaurant is lacking in good food choices.The tap Beer was so warm and undrinkable. Forced to moved to wine, I would not suggest their house Red.The Hambuger signature dish was a struggle to get through on taste. I reckon the Chips were left over from Lunch.The Bar Staff were OK as is the overall ambience of the hotel

Hotel restaurant is fine - not fancy or imposing in the bar restaurant - but a perfectly adequate choice and not too long to wait. I think there is a separate 'fine dining' area but have not tried this myself

Had our second visit to the Regent today for lunch and it was amazing! The best Thai curry I've ever tasted - home cooked and full of flavour, with lots of fresh ingredients. My mum had the freshly made chicken kiev and it was simply exquisite. The lovely chef once again came out to check if we enjoyed our food and the lady who served us was charming and so friendly. I really love this place and can't wait to eat there again.

Had a fabulous bar lunch at the Regent hotel. Gorgeous freshly cooked roasted veg & delicious salmon with a scrumptious prawn sauce......& a to die for home cooked burger with blue cheese & fries. Lovely food & fabulous service. The lady who served us was so friendly & welcoming & the cook even came out to see if we enjoyed our food! Will definitely visit again soon. Highly recommended!!

Wow. The best wedding reception I've been to in Doncaster. The room was beautiful, the staff were outstanding and the food was excellent. We enjoyed it so much we booked a Dinner for 100+ this summer.

Me and my husband booked the valentines meal, the food was lovely and the staff were great. We have also stayed here for the night last year and the rooms were clean and worth there money. Would definatly come again :)

We went on Valentine's night for their Valentines experience, the staff were very friendly, Stuart the Manager was attentive and we were asked at each of the four courses if the food was ok. The dining room was full but still service was spot on. As for the food each course was excellent and the steaks we had were cooked just as we'd ordered them. The price, £27.50 each was excellent value for money. We are getting married there in June this year and if this service is anything to go by it will be a fabulous day. A special thank-you again to Stuart for pink prosecco it made our night.

My bf and I visited the regent hotel for a meal and night away... the food was Ok but pub grub standard at best and the room was very small and not the cleanest we have ever stayed in!! We felt that the whole place could do with a deep clean and general spruce up!Not a bad price at all for a local B & B

Its been ages since the last time that I ate at The Regent Hotel despite this I have fond memories of the place. We had a Christmas works lunch on Wednesday 17th December and this review relates to that day.Really great decoration I love the grey walls in the dining room. The staff were very attentive and friendly, thats always a good start. Tables were well set and looked amazing. I had prawn salad starter - very nice. My main course was the goats cheese tart lots of veg brought to the table to finish cheese board all in all I really enjoyed the meal as so did the party that I was with.Small small niggles are:- The room became very hot and the outside door had to be opened for fresh air, sprouts a bit tasteless and a stick of celery would have been good on the cheese board.All in all this location is well worth a visit. Will I visit again? yes I will. Keep up the good work the team at The Regent!

went out to the Regent Hotel last night with friends. I always enjoy my visits and had heard that they had a fab new chef, I think she is Malasian, not sure. She came out aswe were ordering and recommend some dishes, I ordered a Malasian chicken dish... it was absolutely scrummy, I would recommend this dish, can't remember the name of it, but I'm sure there was only one.

Following my review in May I have spoken to the owner on several occasions to voice my disappointment. After lots of telephone calls I have decided that I will never ever set foot in the place again, and neither will my friends. He was not interested in my comments, he was more interested about the waiter not going home on time and therefor having to be payed another hour. He never once asked me what he could do for me. Like I stated in my review there was only our table in that night. Now I know why. They do not deserve any custome. If you want to try for yourself just be aware that there is CCTV cameras watching your every move. I was told of our every move when I complained, even down to toilet visits and what time we sat down, payed the bill, and left the building. Wired. I think it will be a matter of time before the restaurant is shut, then then will be able to concentrate on the room service and weddings which seems to be the case.

Went with a group of friends. From the moment we sat down we felt in the way. We were the only people in the restaurant that night and everything was too much trouble. Never got offered a drink, had to keep asking. Was told we could not have a coffee because the machine had been turned off and would take 15minutes to heat up.??? Had to have tea to which the waiter(not a very happy person)gave us "brown"sugar. Had to ask for white sugar. Asked for chocolate mints but was told there was none. It is a hotel after all. Food average. Not a lot to choose from on the menu. Was told when booking that there would be a special board, but that was not the case that night. Will not be in a rush to go back. Cannot comment on rooms etc.

there was absolutely nothing to dislike everything was perfect! The bedrooms were lovely, bathroom spotless, food extremely delicious and portions ample.

Ate in the restaurant on saturday night 5 april 14 at the regent hotel in doncaster, found out the chef is polish who we asked to come out of the kitchen to say what excellent food he cooks.My wife is a chef and i did a course and actually worked part-time in an asian kitchen, that give's both of us to be able to judge a good or bad chef.Even if you don't stay sample this hotel for it's food gave a review on this hotel in the last hour but forgot some details.weWe checked in on sat the 5/04/14, and stayed in rooms 18 and 19 as 4 of us went. Brian and Vanda. Mr and mrs trainor , of hyde in cheshire. This was booked on a deal which gave us a bottle of wine per couple, plus dinner and breakfast.

Took my parents for Sunday lunch, absolutely amazing. We all had soup to start (large bowls) followed by Sunday lunch between us we had the beef and pork, all cooked brilliantly, great selection of vegetables and the Yorkshire puddings theyvarevthe best and largest you will ever see, that bignyou cannot finish them, no room for dessert. great service and value we will be returning.

I have been to the Regent many times and had very good pub food but, unfortunately, yesterday (15 Jan, 2014) for our Christmas dinner it was left wanting. There were five of us who, because it was a special occasion, wished to eat in the main Restaurant. This is a lovely room, beautifully decorated. The service was excellent. It was the food which let it down badly. I had lasagne from the bar menu as there was no a la carte menu available. It was cold and seemed to have been hanging around for a while. I should have complained at the time but didn't want to spoil the happy atmosphere of the party. I think it will be a while before we try it again.

On a dank miserable Sunday in January we came upon this hotel and decided to try their Sunday lunch in their restaurant and are we glad we did. The service was impeccable, the restaurant manager truly professional and attentive to all the diners and the waitresses polite and pleasant making the dining experience very pleasant. Now to the food a lovely selection of starters and main courses and £13 for two courses great value. We all had a wonderful soup for starter obviously homemade. The beef on the main course was so tender and I was told the lamb was beautifully cooked but the thing that set this Sunday lunch way above other Sunday lunches was the size of the Yorkshire a Puddings I have never seen any this size served in any restaurant they were huge and very tasty. The vegetable accompanying the meal were delicious and all well cooked. We were all too full to sample the desserts. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough compliments to the chef.

Had our work Xmas party here this year , fabulous night Very well organised , lovely food. Been to Xmas parties at other venues & always been disappointed with the food as generally poor quality at Xmas parties however the regent excelled in the food dept . DJ was great & played brilliant tunes . Drink prices were reasonable All in all a great venue & will def be booking again for future parties

We had a fabulous time for our Christmas party at the Regent. The staff were fantastic and the food excellent. They catered for 35 of us without any problems and we will deffinatley be back next year.

Myself and my wife together with most of my family went here to a wedding bash,and the food was absolute rubbish,i wouldnt have fed it to my cat.

This year our usual Christmas family and friends lunch venue closed unexpectedly, and we had to cast around for a new one. We came to the Regent, having sampled their lunches and having been offered a private dining room for a party of nineteen. When we arrived we found that the tables had been set for two groups but we wanted to be all together, so the staff set to and changed it in ragtime from Cafe Mozart to the Last Supper. The bar bill was eye-watering but the food was fabulous and the staff couldn't have been more attentive, getting into the spirit of the games and taking group photos. Highly recommended.

We visited the Magnolia Rooms restaurant on Saturday evening as a group of 4, and have to say we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent menu choice, and well presented delicious food on offer. As people who like to eat out and enjoy good food, we had given up on Doncaster town centre a long time ago, preferring the offerings of Tickhill, Bawtry and the likes for a decent quality meal. We had however heard a lot of good things about the changes at The Regent Hotel so decided to give it a try!On arrival we were welcomed into the newly decorated cocktail bar for pre dinner drinks whilst we perused the menus. The menu had a wide selection of seasonal produce on offer, all at very reasonable prices, and in fact was so tempting we found it hard to choose! There was everything from pigeon breast, to scallops with chorizo, and a delicious roast belly pork.Once our orders had been taken we were led through to the restaurant where we were served promptly with a beautiful 3 course meal. The belly pork was a particular highlight for our group! We couldnt fault the fantastic service provided by the team, and the standard of food served. We dined on the dine with wine for 2 offer for £29.00, exceptional value for the range and quality of food on offer, we will certainly return again before the offer ends!If like us you are also lost for a credible, quality eatery in the centre of Doncaster that doesnt break the bank, then give the Magnolia Rooms a try!

Called in before visiting the Lakeside shopping centre, as we fancied a pub lunch rather than a fast food outlet lunch. Surprised at the modern decor and atmosphere in the Magnolia rooms. Very friendly lady served us drinks and food. We both had pie, as he menu said everything was freshly cooked, and it was very good. Chicken and leek with lots of chicken filling, steak and mushroom with loads of proper stewed steak, proper pastry, plenty of gravy, home made chips, and very reasonably priced at £6.25 each. Would recommend.
