Mallard in Doncaster

Brilliant food like always and served with a smile on there faces and given best advice when ordering food and drink many thanks to Chloe and Dan for great service and Keith and Sam for the the great food

We was greeted with a smile for the bother in laws birthday meal. We was served by Chloe who informed us of being short staffed. She then continued to go into the kitchen help cook and serve. I would love to say thank you to Kelly for the food even though it being a big order for 10 everything was cooked amazing and everyone enjoyed. Not to mention Terri for bringing the cake and singing happy birthday and making the evening for the birthday boy. And I’m sure caz has done just as amazing with everything out back with washing the pots as the team are all amazing and lovely.

We enjoyed our meal but the gravy was not good

Came in for food! Dan and Paul were amazing, there service was fantastic and my food was cooked by Connor which was very nice!!!! Definitely will come back again

Had a lovely lunch today! The server made an effort to get candles for my daughter's birthday dessert!

We were served by Ellie who was very chatty and kind! The cheesecake was beautiful and I snagged a few of my boyfriend’s chips which were lovely too. Very well priced and definitely my favourite pub!

Brilliant atmosphere.Good,Quick and accessible service.Food looks smells and tastes fresh.Overall a perfect place to take family or close friends.

We ordered two chicken burgers, one with allegedly extra gravy as described on the menu. However, what we got was very poor. The extra gravy came out in a very small thimble sized bowl. So not extra gravy at all ! The chicken was dreadfull and the bread was stale. All in all uneatable. There was no interest from the staff, nobody came to our table to ask if everything was OK. We left feeling very disappointed and will not go back again.

Came in at lunch time ordered drink and food Beth and Jack served me on the bar. Customer service was amazing the food cooked by (which I was told chloe+kelly) was the best!!! Definitely will come back!!

I had booked a table for breakfast at 9.30am on 25th January 2025. Arrived 10 minutes early and when and sat down to look at the breakfast menu. I then went to the bar to order a Beans on toast and then used the option to add extras one of which was 3 hash browns another being one sausage. I wanted to swap 1 hash brown for another sausage as it would have cost the same but apparently I wasn't allowed to do that and even offered to pay for the extra sausage but no. I won't be going there for breakfast again.

“Cracking pub! Popped into The Mallard in Doncaster for some grub and a pint, and it did not disappoint. The food was spot on—proper tasty, good portions, and didn’t break the bank. Staff were friendly and quick, even though it was busy. Loads of TVs showing the footy, decent atmosphere, and a great pint. Can’t fault it—will definitely be back!”

First time here. Good pub food- good labelling for vegetarians, vegans etc and ask about any food allergies on ordering. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice wine choices. Pub was clean and staff cleared tables very quickly after people left the tables surrounding us. No faults and would visit again.

8.29 for a brekfast my 3 year old son could eat and still be hungry

Food was quite bog standard but the service was excellent given how busy it was. Polite staff and great atmosphere

The food was nice but here's my issue. Monday they have a kids eat for a pound. I ordered from the correct menu as far as I was aware ( double cheeseburger) and was asked about sides so I picked. They put it through as a meal deal with a single burger so lost the deal. They charged me full price. When I asked why it was so much after paying they said oh it was cause my meal was a lunch meal. I looked again and realized that wasn't the case, so I questioned it and I got a response of, oh thats why I don't eat our it's so expensive. I even pointed out the error and Ali got offered condolences and nothing more After they did offer a free pudding but we couldn't stay due to a hospital appointment. So I paid full price for the wrong meal I didn't ask for. It's not end of the world but it's frustrating when you point it out and all you get is a lukewarm response. They even said they have that many promotions it's hard to keep track. Just a bit of a mess really sadly. Used to come a fair bit but will think again if we plan to use the promotion. EDIT IN RESPONSE - I queried it at the till, at the table when we had barely started again 5 mins later to point out the error, and again just before we left. Also as far as I could see the Kids eat for £1 is not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. The lunch menu isn't under any offer if it's part of the same menu. If it is it needs to be clarified. What a shame.

Great choice of food and beers. Candy mania for dessert is awesome. Disabled access to the pub via a lift. Well behaved children allowed.

We had a table reserved which was ready early for us, the pub was spotless! I ordered wine at the bar and had a laugh with the staff whilst there. I had one of your Saturday specials the jerk chicken and wings one and it was really nice!! My daughter loved her jacket potato, my mum enjoyed her Chinese style Saturday offer. My mum’s partner and my husband and my brother in law all had the same mini burger Saturday offer and said the chicken burgers were nice but the beef burgers weren’t great, but they did enjoy the rest of it. The staff were very quick and friendly, the prices were spot on!! We took a look at your other options for the future and loved the variety of deals all week, and I love the sound of wine Wednesday!! Was a fabulous offer!! We really enjoyed our visit, please pass on our thanks to the staff and wish them a merry Christmas from us!

Didn't plan to be here but my train was cancelled and I needed to find something to eat. Dipped into here to grab food. A good burger (I had the beyond burger) and one of my preferred lagers, both served very quickly so I could catch the next train. Chips were super hot and there were so many of them. And the staff were super friend (Beth and Terri, apparently). Next time my trains mess me around, I'm reassured to know this place is here!

Breakfast was brilliant, piping hot, timely service nice place. Would happily return again :)

Got order wrong and false advertising

Had Christmas lunch with friends. Great atmosphere. All staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal, particularly Dan who couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend .

The food is delicious and the staff are extremely friendly. Dan was very welcoming and took us to our table. Beth brought us our food and was very polite.

Meal out with coworkers. Enjoyed our meals and a couple drinks, and lovely service from Ian. Will be back again soon :)

Toilets covered in a layer of wee. Toilet seat covered in poo. Genuinely a disgusting environment. If you like cheap beer, well that's about it.

So today after a very stressful day in Doncaster, I was greeted by a lovely server called Ian. Ian looked after me, my partner and my daughter from the moment we entered the establishment. The food was amazing the service from ian was spectacular. And his recommendations were really good, thank you to the chef and more importantly ian. Thanks for an amazing time

I used to go here all the time. The staff are lovely and really helpful. Recently they've had an upgrade on their menu....... More like a down grade. Disappointed just isn't the word. I ordered the Burger Sizzler combo which consists of a bacon cheese burger, chicken wings and a rump steak with Texan BBQ sauce on a sizzling skillet of peppers and onions. With fries and corn on the cob. No where did it say on the menu that the burger would have mayonnaise on which is a massive allergy issue for people who can't have mayonnaise. Also the lack of actual bacon (I removed the hard plastic cheese) one tiny rasher of bacon! The bun tasted strange and it also came with a lettuce and onion. The food was quite frankly awful 😞. The chicken wings were clearly cooked from frozen and the steak was tiny as there was no weight on the menu. Such a shame.

Went to Mallard for a late lunch. A lovely young lady by the name of hannah welcomed us and explained the different ways we could order food and drinks. Went to the bar and was served by a very pleasant young lady called eloise. Lovely atmosphere, lovely friendly service, lovely food and great value for money. Thank you ladies for looking after us we will be back

Had a lovely sit down with friends this afternoon noon. We was welcomed with a smile by Beth. We was then served by Elouise who helped us decide what we would like to eat (which was a great choice) I had the burger sizzler combo which the steak was cooked beautifully and the burger was great.

Nice place gets a little busy. Food good good value. Friendly service just not enough staff when it gets busy.

We called in for breakfast. It wasn't busy. Food and drinks were ordered and didn't take long to arrive. The breakfast sandwich was just that, on bread not a bun. The hash browns and breakfast gravy were nice, beef gravy with brown sauce?? I wasn't sure about it, but it was ok. Eggs in the eggs Benedict were a bit snotty but that was our only issue.

The food is really nice unfortunately they find it easy to over cook steak and the mixed grill could be bigger (didn't fill my husband 😂) but the cocktails r a must try and the staff r very friendly

Lovely wee pub located in the shopping centre. Access to the bus station below is by means of lift of escalator only a few feet from the pub. And the train station forecourt is only outside the door on the lower level too. Went for dinner and then lunch. Both times the staff were friendly, helpful, and the food arrived without fault. Delicious it was too. Will happily recommend to others and be back when next we're in Donny.

A hungry horse establishment good value for money

Good Hungry Horse usually visited to meet when getting off train due to closeness to railway station. Typical HH menu and deals which never disappoint...friendly staff and worth a longer stay TBH...can get busy though due to location..

I was really impressed with the staff this morning especially Hannah and jen who welcomed us with a smile then provided us with great service throughout our visit to the establishment

Slowly going down hill. Short measure and overpriced drinks,staff with no personality and plenty of empty seats. I just don't understand why Green king have let it slip so far down the drain . I would take photos there's no one to take photos of

I didnt have much to eat. However the chocolate fudge cake is definitely a have again and me and my partner enjoyed it very much. The service was great as we was served by Elouise with a smile despite feeling under the weather kept her smile for the customers and abi was lovely and positive making us feel very welcomed to the pub (will 100% be returning soon)

Booked for Sunday lunch, was told when we arrived by the bar maid they had sold out. We ordered off the main menu. I had steak which had to be returned as I couldn't chew it. Replaced with fresh meal of chicken skewers which was OK but was disappointed by then. Barmaid very bossy and unprofessional in my opinion, seemed rude to us. Will not be returning.

Popped in for glass of wine when I got off of the train . Chap next to me was ignored so when someone came back ( staff) I pointed to the chap next to me . Then lo and behold I was ignored and the male member of staff headed straight was a female that had only just walked up to the other end of the bar . I’ve had issues with staff her before : they are obnoxious to say the least and the female manage that is on is nothing but a dragon . I’ll never go in a Greene king again and am cancelling my Xmas day dinner at another Greene king ( last year it was lovely ) I’ll never set foot in any of their places ever again . There is far more much better places I would wish to spend my money at

Such friendly staff, we were served by Ian, who took our drinks order, he was so lovely and made us all feel welcome. The new caramel iced latte was lovely too. Would definitely come again, food is always great and it is such good value. Thank you!!

Went later in the day for a pud and a coffee, served by a very pleasant gentleman, I am not local but will be back on my next trip for the ultimate candymania ☺️☺️

Not had a problem be fore with food or anything like that put when someone said u can't start a tab because she not done in two year is a shock when you should be able to have a tab

Sorry to say did not receive that great a service. stopped off when changing trains at Doncaster for a late breakfast and would no do it again. ok service but not the food Sausages not cooked, bacon not much better.

Came In this afternoon for some lunch and the food was amazing. Abi bought our food out and she was so chatty and friendly.

Go twice a week the staff are so attentive to me it's the best in Donny

Our server Beth was very helpful and accommodating to my autistic sister who didnt like the dish she ordered. She showed patience while she decided what she wanted and was more than happy to change the dish completely for her. The new dish then came swiftly so we were able to eat altogether. Can’t fault how helpful this was in helping to keep a stressful situation calm.
