Another amazing visit, food and drink is always spot on no matter what you decide to order. Definitely worth anyone's time if you're in the area.

Decent place, reasonable food and good service.

We went for breakfast it was still fairly busy but it was the service was excellent. The food came to our table very fast it was a nice pleasant atmosphere. For the children there are built in TVs that had children programs on to keep them entertained and the added smoking terrace is nice with a good view of the train station. The food was very tasty and hot.

Had a lovely meal today, Terri seated us and was very friendly, served by Beth who couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The bar staff Chloe and jack were polite

Little gem of a place tucked away at the end of the second floor on Frenchgate (or Arndale, if you're old enough :-)) great breakfast, and staff were very pleasant... we enjoyed it, well done staff

Just in for drinks while our party come together and have had a really warm welcome on a busy, Saturday afternoon. Ian has been particularly attentive and can throw down some great banter. Definitely will be back again!

I was very disappointed of my meal today the food was just warm and my gaming wasn't cooked enough First bad meal we have had

we ordered lasagna and mix grill. the food was terrible. the mixed grill tasted like plastic the steak was over cooked , the lasagne was burnt.We definitely won't be back

Enjoyed a lovely meal today for valentines at the mallard. Both Jack and the other guy behind the bar were really lovely and had great customer service,made me feel very welcome and made sure I had been served. Also Maria was lovely and very attentetive and made sure we were satisfied with the food. Been a really nice visit thank you.

Great service in this lovely little pub, fantastic beers supplied by an independent brewery from Barnsley The Jolly Boys Brewery (obviously gonna be fantastic if from Barnsley lol) Knowledgeable staff always available for advice. Came in here for lunch earlier and the food was fantastic the staff was also polite. Beth and jack was so helpful with what we was hoping for our experience at Mallard. The kitchen staff had all the food right and it was amazing we have no complains about anything.

Beth was great tonight! Making sure everything was all good for us and helping us with whatever we needed. Food was also really nice! We will definitely be back.

What a nice place! Fast service, the food is good, the staff is nice and attentive. You can sit comfortably and eat by yourself or with friends. One of my favourite places in Frenchgate.

The Mallard is a pub that I would certainly recommend. Staying in Doncaster for several days, I have been returning to The Mallard for my evening meals after a long day. The food and service from all staff (including Ian) have been impeccable, and with a great atmosphere. I also like how the cutlery is folded up nicely!

Nice food, really impressed with one of the staff we asked if we could move because we was sat near the bar and it was too loud she said she might struggle to but looked afterwards and got us seated elsewhere that was quiter made our experience better

Beth was our server and she was lovely, very friendly and very helpful.

I am a repeat customer and I keep coming back due to the friendliness and help from staff, especially Beth who despite being constantly on her feet racing about the joint is always able to spare time for a quick word. I have special dietary needs which Beth is always very conscious of, especially where newer staff might not be aware. I always feel like I am in safe hands when eating here.

Thanks to Dan, Ian, Jordan, Eloise, what a great time, was my birthday and went the extra mile to make it special, even got table service on my drinks. Warm pleasant enviroment, polite, professional, and great customer service. Thankyou guys, we will be back later 👍

Brought the family for food and must say the food was spot on. Everything was how I expected it to be. Great prices too

No Oat milk for the coffee. They had forgotten to put the reservation on the table. Food was poor for a chain pub. I don't expect too notch cuisine but it was dried up and pretty awful for all of us. There are much better places for a cheap and cheerful lunch.

I went for a family meal, but an incident outside caused me some distress, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the staff, for their concern Jack deserves a special mention he was very helpful ask if he could help and told me to ask him if he could help in anyway, thank you Jack ! What’s the point of having a long bar if you only serve at one end of it? Bar service is poor. Sat at the fixed bar stools at one end of the bar and was told had to get up and walk to the other end if I wanted serving. So what’s the point of having the bar stools?

Nice choice of drinks and food all came out together and was piping hot. Deserts were massive

Food was awesome, cocktails tasted watered down but that's the usual in restaurants. Felt a little bit too close to the next table, that's my only gripe

Called in for a breakfast before the races The first impression was very good with nice modern surroundings and very friendly staff The price of the meals was very competitive we decided to go for the big breakfast based on value for money But when the breakfast arrived my heart sank the bacon was very well done and sausage and scrambled egg were very dry and must have been standing for a while in the kitchen. Didn't complain at the time because we had very little time to get to the races. A good pub let down by the food.

Good evening I would not recommend this place to any1 who as had at least 1 drink has you will not get served me and my family went in after been on Leeds for a family birthday. Called in after coming of train and a bar man called DANIEL would not serve us as he said we was under the influence of alcohol, we was not even drunk, but then still served us 3 and took our money WHAT A JOKE.

We ordered two breakfasts When it arrived the eggs was like bullets hard as rock The sausages you could taste had been warmed up and was tough and cold The bacon I asked for well done This was not at all Completely a rubbish and over priced breakfast The only good thing was the two black coffees we had Worst £20 I spent on any meal Will never return !!!!

Excellent choice of food and extremely quick service even though it was particularly busy. Ian the barman was especially efficient and helpful, even finding time to put the shamrock on the pints of Guinness.

We have been going to The Mallard as a group of 3 friends every 6-8 weeks for the last 5+ years. Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is always good. We've never had a bad meal and it's great value.

Friendly staff taken to table, ordered food at bar which came quickly. Food good and a good selection. Half bar area open for just drinks. Level floors with good access and toilets. Access from Frenchgate centre. Would recommend

Exceptional good value to the point you assume the food will be poor. But instead, good quality, decent portions and tasty. Right next to the station which was why we chose it but we'll worth it. Friendly staff and fast service, not a destination restaurant but hard to fault for the price.

Absolutely vile. We ended up here as we couldn't get into cosmos as it was fully booked. This place was really quiet. We all agreed the food and drinks were disgusting. The cokes were just soda with no taste. The food was so bad that we went to have deserts at a different place. The roast chicken on both our plates were practically beige. It's never seen a oven. Not many chips and I wouldn't call or value for money. Never again for us. Left us disappointed. Even the board outside says "we always want you to leave" haha yeah, we won't be returning either.
