We stopped by on the way from Cornwall to get a coffee, and were not disappointed. Wooden Box is a lovely cafe with friendly staff. I’m pleased to to have supported an independent business and would highly recommend!

Lovely coffee and delicious cakes. Very friendly staff (possibly the owner?) who answered all our questions on local purchases as we are in the area on holiday and more besides. Would definitely recommend. Sat outside in the warm October sunshine in a lovely position in the town.

It is said that big things come in small packages and the WoodenBox in Redruth gives credence to this saying! It is amazing how much character and charm oozes from this cafe. Every single area of the establishment feels like it has considerable attention poured into it from quirky jokes dotting the tables to a vinyl record player filling the ambience with tunes that reflect the character of the place. I have been here several times now and I Am still finding new things to see! The menu is fantastic, especially the rarebit, which is completely vegetarian. I am pretty carnivorous yet I find everything on the menu to be delightful, tasty, well presented and filling. The cakes are fantastic aswell with the signature 'brillionaire' cake being akin more to a life experience than just popping a cake in your mouth after a coffee. There is a specials board which is often updated and kept exciting with a variety of flavours and ingredients. Thew owners are very friendly and welcoming. It was by happenstance that I found this place as they were open on a Sunday yet within a very short time I felt very comfortable and respected. They both bring so much to the business that it is almost impossible to feel negative. Another nice fact about the business is that everything is sourced as locally as possible from the furniture to the coffee and cakes which is commendable and makes WoodenBox feel like more than your regular cafe. So, whether you are popping in for a coffee, cake and chinwag or a fully realised lunch/ food pit stop, you will find something that will appeal to you at the WoodenBox. A new funky, soul of the Redruth high street.

We found this lovely vegetarian café by accident today when visiting Redruth. It's only been open for a short time, but deserves to do very well. The couple who run it are very friendly, and helped us to choose a delicious lunch. We had a halloumi wrap, and a bowl of salad to share between us. It was all freshly made, and tasted delicious. We ordered coffee for two and received a generously large cafetiere of locally roasted coffee. We couldn't manage a cake, but they looked good. We will certainly come back the next time we're in Redruth, and I would expect the café to be thriving by then!

Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday, what a fantastic find!! Funky and quirky vegan cafe. Loved the layout and decor. Best chai latte ever. Absolutely gorgeous tofu tacos, and the squash salad was sooo tasty. It’s dog friendly too!! Young lady was on her own front of house, and the cafe was full, she was run off her feet, but she was brilliant - well done!! Now top of our list for lunching in Mousehole!

I have been here four times now, its become a thing whenever we come to Newquay, tattoo before I go home. The staff are incredibly friendly and always chatting away when you're there. They make you feel like part of the family. It's clean, tidy, always smells so good woth the cakes and coffee, I always feel like I'm home when I go in.

Very good B&B in a very central location. But it is very expensive so 'value for money' comes into question. Very good cooked breakfast served in the mornings but for the money it should provide freshly squeezed orange juice.

We found our way to Freathy Farmhouse Cafe by following a sign from Whitsand Bay. What a lovely find! Very rustic and charming cafe. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed very generous sandwiches served with delicious salad. Some of us even managed cake! We will definitely return although I understand it is best to check opening times. Ps Loved the decor in the loo!
