Just had my first gluten free chippy tea in 16 weeks. Best gluten free fish around.Was nervous about going but social distancing is all good and only 2 people allowed in shop Excellent service and friendly staff Thanks Jackie

Visited a few times and had a variety of things - chips (obviously) pies, fritters of differing sorts. All amazing and it’s my daughter’s favourite because while waiting for our order she gets a chip on a fork - daddy or chips - definitely chips :)

Spotlessly clean,friendly and all the food is consistently good,particularly the fish and its Haddock! It is also far better value than its competition

I’ve been meaning to review wood street for some time now, only just getting round to it but better late than never. I’ve been going to this chippy for 10 years now, each time we have been, it’s never failed to impress. The service and cleanliness is wonderful, the food is to die for. One of the staff recommended chips, cheese and curry for a change of gravy, gave me a sample to try and I’ve never looked back. It’s little things with service and this place deliverers. Hope it keeps going for years to come!

This has to be one of the best chippies you will ever come across . I have eaten most things including the specials that they have on . The fish is finger licking good as are the chips. The staff are so friendly that it’s like being in your kitchen at home talking with family or friends . All I can say is go and enjoy ginger licking lip smacking fish and chips from here

Absolutely amazing food fish and chips got a be the best in bury it's only problem is it's not open enough

We live in the middle of three different fish shops but would only ever go here. The food always tastes fresh and well cooked. My brother moved down south years ago and whenever he visits with his family we have to get a chippy from here. Lovely friendly staff too.

I love this chippy so much and it's been a great place for years and years. I live miles away from here now but still pop in when I'm in the locality. Great range of food and very high quality

This place without doubt is on of the best chippy I have ever bought food from . Great service great food fresh and plenty of choices to pick from . You can get home made pies and other great dishes during the week . Go and enjoy the food , you'll not be disappointed.

Someone told us about Wood Street chippy, What a find.!! Had fish and chips and the largest pea fritter you have ever seen, The fish was better than a steak, fresh, meaty and huge. Hubby had special of the day and it was the best Cheese and onion pie he had ever tasted he said. The staff are all very friendly, We got there at 4.20pm it pens at 4.30pm, at 4.30 about 20 cars emptied and the chippy was full. Keep up the good work.

Love curry and chips here and their onion rings open dinner times and thurs fri tea times would be good if it opened a couple of supper times best English chippy around .

My daughter loves the home made nuggets and is a regular visitor. They even do a slimming world friendly fish and curry/peas Well worth a visit when open.

I was introduced to this chippy by a bury local and it's so good i regularly make the 40 mile round trip for dinner! The owners are very sociable and the food is wonderful, it's hard to imagine a chippy that doesn't serve greasy food but wood st chippy manage it!

Fantastic food, friendliest staff, and reasonably priced its impossible to visit Bury and not call in, recommended to all.

A proper English Fish and chip shop. They always make a effort with seasonal decorations on the shop front giving you a warm welcome. The food is first class and the premises are very clean unlike a lot of Takeways! On my last visit they even gave me a sausage for my dog on the house.🐶

Very friendly chippy - good quality food and gluten free batter on request which is a bonus for me. Always a nice friendly hello when you come in and a couple of chips on a wooden fork for the kids while you wait..... Brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻

This is a great chippy the chips aren't greasy at all and are lovely and fluffy with great taste.The staff are very friendly.

Excellent chippy loved by all 4 members of our household. The kids love coming with us as the get a freebie chip on a fork whilst they wait. Staff the friendliest you'll meet anywhere :-)

The waiting queues at busy times are testament to the popularity of this chippy. There is a wide range of food and soft drinks, my only problem is that I live on the wrong side of town, so can only visit when passing as I have no car.

Loads of choice, friendly staff, and pea fritters and battered Bury Black Pudding Lovely well worth a visit if your in the area.
