absolutely delicious food great delivery

First time ever I haven’t eaten my Tompsons fish and chips . Fish batter really pale and very soggy 😢

The most inedible food I’ve ever ordered. Absolutely disgusting never will I order again from here

Seemed to be a long delay with the driver. Food normally hot, def on cool side as I been hanging around , presumably waiting for the driver situation to sort itself out.

Fantastic food, a proper chippy…been going to this chippy for years. The maturer lady who works there is so caring about her business and good for her it shows in the food. 11/10 everytime with food.

Called in today for a chippy lunch. It is what it is, a chippy with a sit down bit at the back. Nothing special, but it hit the spot. We thought it a little pricey at circa 30 quid for fish n chips twice and two drinks, Just our opinion but I’ve had better for less.

Often have food from here and it’s always been first class. But this time was awful. The fish was that greasy it had soaked through the box it was in, the paper the box was wrapped in and the bag all the food had been put in.

Fantastic food, lovely and hot. Excellent value and always delicious, only place I will eat the fish as very fussy over that.

Me and the wife called in after shopping in bury and we were shown to our seat by a lovely lady who took our orders, The food was very nice although was disappointed not to see a senior citizens menu they only have what they call small plate meals which are still quite expensive for a pensioner. This meant that the cost of a fish and chip dinner for me and the wife cost £29 which I think is absolutely scandalous and won't be going back again. This review would have been 5 stars if the price of the food would have been more reasonable.

Once again the order was wrong, despite me specifically asking them to check it and make sure everything was right. Order said large peas . Sent large gravy. Get it right. Food is good though.

ordered 2 cod . Only 1 delivered. Couldnt find a way of redress and imo there is no point in asking for another fish after we have eaten. Everone makes mistakes . C'est la vie.

Beautiful haddock. Lightly battered and crisp. Lovely tasting mushy peas. Plus the best English curry I've ever tasted. This has got to be the best Engllsh chippy in Bury. 10/10.

I love the food from here and order every weekend and will carry on doing so just one mistake the week I ordered a large curry and a large gravy and I received small instead but I am getting a refund for both. I will still from here as the food is fabulous

Excellent food at reasonable prices and they had some new gluten-free scampi available which was a very pleasant surprise. Will visit again when I'm in the area.

We were clearly given a small portion of chips when we paid for a normal portion. The chips are old and I suspect they just ran out of them and gave us half a portion.

Went in to order a big lunch for work and they come ld not have been more helpful when dealing with all the different dietary requirements, the food was excellent and we were served very quickly, cannot recommend this place enough.

Missing children’s chicken nuggets and chips but got the children’s box the fish cakes not the best but everything else was ok

A lot of the chips were hard really disappointing with one of burys long standing establishments never had problems before going into the restaurant but the takeaway was poor

Gluten free scampi was nice, not fried (maybe done in an air fryer), we were a little disappointed with the portion sizes, they were quite small. food was nice overall. shame they don't do any gf curry sauce or have a fryer for gf.

17quid for fish chips gravy and a can of pop.. there was no taste to any of it. Chips could have been cooked a little longer.

The food was not cooked properly, including the puddings with meat in them. The chips were brown and rock solid and greasy. The food used to be really nice but has gone downhill and is extremely overpriced. The driver was also late, he got lost ignoring the intrusions and drove around the wrong street for 15 minutes before ringing me so the food was stone cold when arrived

Always great food and friendly service at this amazing chippy. The fish is to die for with crispy and light batter. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are always happy and helpful.

I ordered cod fish today and was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, everything changed after I tasted the fish. It was dry and tasteless 😱. That was the last time I ordered from them🙈

Absolutely fantastic place. Fresh-as-you-like sweet and flaky haddock, with delicious dry and crispy batter. Homemade chips and mushy peas were so tasty. Even the cup of tea of from a proper tea pot was top quality. And the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Everywhere was spotless. This is a proper Bury gem and the best fish and chips we’ve had in Manchester. Worth the trip from Stockport!

The food was terrible and very expensive for what is just a chip shop with some seats in it , My wife ordered a chicken burger which came back deep fat fried burnt to death with a ridicules salad on it and a grated cheese on one half of the bun. I just had pie, chips and gravy which the pie tasted as if it had just been microwaved .But the creme de la creme was where we were sat we could see into the prep area which we thought was a sink but was a large milk jug which they poured into small jugs for the tea and coffee, but what my wife she couldn't believe was that any milk that was still left in the little jugs that people had used was just poured back into the big jug then re poured out to other customers My wife payed the bill and brought this up with the manager to which he replied oh i will look into it in a Blaise manner with no apology just o this meal cost £32 pound i might of just of gone to a proper restaurant and probably paid less and had better food

Was unusually disappointed tonight. Haddock was greasy, overcooked and small. Not value for money at almost £8 just for a fish. Chips ok. Delivery was perfect 👍
