The Fish Bar at Tottington Road in Bury

new to the area so have been looking for a good English chippy , the main prerequisite being the pea fritter . this place is now my go too as the food was excellent , delivered hot , excellent quality, and very reasonably priced , I will definitely order again , honestly fantastic.

Service with a smile, always busy we're but never kept waiting long. Sound food, thank you.

The Fish Bar is hands down the best chippy around the area, the Haddock is excellent as are the chips and Manchester Caviar…couldn’t recommend it anymore…perfect

I know it's a chippy but the food was Dripping with grease as if it had not been left to rest , the battered sausage , scallops and fritter was completely inedible due to grease

Not the best, no salt and vinegar on chips, fish very dry and quite stale to be honest. Steak and kidney poor quality, and overall not very generous on the chips despite £30 for two meals. Won’t rush back.

They knocked it out of the park again! Superb crispy batter on the pure white cod which was complemented by the freshly cooked chips and slightly spicey curry sauce.

Just had 2 lots of fish and chip...very soggy, greasy batter on fish, stuck to the chips, couldn't get it out of box in one piece..thought batter was supposed to be crispy..absolutely terrible..

Fish had weird taste. Only ate the batter and chips. Not the usual standard . I am a regular customer.

First use of their App. Worked as it should. Ordered for ASAP (10 minutes) and it was ready on arrival. Cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The staff all seemed really happy, chatting and laughing as they worked. Happy staff makes for happy customers. Will definitely use again.

Over 20 minutes late for requested delivery time? Why offer set timeslots when you can't adhere to them, especially on a Monday? Most of the food was ok but had better elsewhere. Chips really 'soggy' - tasted like they were filled with water rather than potato. probably put into a cold fryer? When the driver eventually arrived I saw him pull up and then he spent 5 minutes outside speaking to someone that he knew before deciding to drop my order off! What a joke

What chippy does not open on Saturday. Obviously the customers are just an inconvenience.

The fish, cod, was the star of the show. A massive, crisp batter encasing pure white flakes of succulent cod. The meal completed with a generous portion of perfectly cooked chips and a tasty curry sauce.

Iv only been in 3 times in the fishbar but their food is outstanding, delicious, and very tasty. I'm going there many times again. I do recommend people to go to the fishbar. Their fish is so tasty, soft and the batter is so tasty. Thanks again

This is the first time I've ordered, from the Fish Bar and it certainly not be the last. The batter on the fish was a lovely golden crispy coating and the fish was cooked to perfection, and the chips lovely and dry. Even the boxes that they came in showed very little grease. Thank you Fish Bar for cooking such a delicious meal.

Waited a few minutes for "fresh" food and got stale chips, and a tepid pea fritter, should have took them back for a refund. Pity as we have been there frequently recently and has been very good. Unfortunately we will be going elsewhere in future.

The BEST Chippy there is ! We had 2 delicious cod, a generous portion of tasty chips and two mouth watering sides for a super price, the staff and Paul the owner are friendly, welcoming and very helpful, I would definitely recommend !

My new favourite chippy in bury, has stopped me driving back to blackley for a good chippy. Lovely fish chips are cooked well, Mrs loves the steak pie, and my dog loves the sausage (so do I nick a bite from his before I give it him) will have to swing by in person one day and let them know how well they do with their food. I asked for a very small portion of chips and a meat pie, I got enough lukewarm chips to feed a family, don't know how old the pie was but it did not look or taste fresh, won't be going again. I've taken photos but don't seem to be able to put them on

We placed order to be delivered and when it came the portion size of chips was poor. We also paid for 2 large gravy. They put gravy on 1 meal and never sent pot of large gravy for second meal which we had paid for

Food great. Ordered via the app. Got home found we were missing items (I know should have checked before leaving but didn’t). Got back home we also had wrong Curry (not spicy one). I know we should have double checked order before going back. Food was still nice. Just disappointed with the faffing around. Would still recommend and there was no issues when I went back and asked for the missing bag of chips. Just to respond to the response…. The Curry was indeed my error. Edited and added an extra star to the whole experience. The food quality has always been full marks. Also tried to upload the screen grab of the order which shows the regular chips which were not in the bag. I like to support local businesses but I’m not sure if you’re suggesting I came back to get something I hadn’t already paid for?

Clean, spacious (a few bar stool tables to eat at too) and great click and collect. Staff very efficient. Good fish and chip shops are rare these days. I would recommend 100%. Just one criticism, outside sign on wall states that they are open Saturday tea time but they are closed weekends.

Need to update hours on Google to closed at weekends. Drove here 20 mins on Saturday on husbands birthday because our family wanted fish and chips to find it shut :(

The food came cold, my partner ordered gravy and it had been spilt all over the bag. The chips were soggy, the fish was soggy and bland, the peas were undercooked, really disappointed with the service as a whole.

The fish had no flavour so couldn’t eat it even my dog hasn’t touched it

Got my food two hours after i ordered.

Fish, chips, and peas for 2, plus a sausage. Everything was perfect. Fish was firm and flakey with just the right amount of batter, and a generous size. Fresh hot chips, and the peas just right. Sausage was good apart from having to share it with the dog.

The best cod I've had in a long time.

Never had to complain about this place before but the delivery was 20 mins late,no answer when I rang and the fish and chips I paid £11 for was cold and the fish was about the size of 2 fingers.

£9 for sausage chips & curry … I got a similar food a few weeks ago and thought it was a mistake but now I know you are out to rob people … the manager is in the back ground with a smile on his face when every Oder goes through … absolutely bang out of order charging people ridiculously charges… you need closing down !

Disgusting service and delivery. If it hadnt been for my neighbour letting us know there was a bag of food here we wouldnt of known it was here. No text , no knock on door. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY WENT IN THE BIN!!!!! If there was an option for no stars thats what they would of got.

Asked for Fish chips sausage & Gravy separate, with 2 can drinks. I was stunted to find it cost £16! Accepted that the price was the price after they said my order back to me and arrived home to find the order incorrect and had charged us for extra food & also put the gravy in one chip box instead of a Separate cup. When I spoke to the managerial lady, the server had to chime in so not to let me stain her reputation Dissatisfied with the service, however the owners do seem like good people.

The chips were lukewarm and had lots of eyes in them. One of the fish was broken in half and just thrown into the box.
