Wongs Chinese Takeaway in Thanet

We popped in for a takeaway, first time here. We decided just to have a couple of starters so had the sesame prawn toast & chicken satay on skewers to share between us & a pancake roll each. The portions were more than generous. The prawn toast had real prawns and was delicious. The chicken satay was absolutely amazing. Plump tender chicken & the satay sauce was gorgeous! Struggled to eat our pancake roll as never expected the portions to be quite so big, however they were also lovely. None of the food was greasy as the toast & pancake rolls often can be from the Chinese restaurants. Can't praise them enough, we shall definitely return *****

Just perfect, the best takeaway - tastes like top class restaurant food and he makes everything fresh so gluten free is no problem. Hihhly recommended.

This was hands down the best takeaway I have had in Thanet . It was delicious, promptly delivered and good value for money . The pancake rolls were absolutely superb and the Singapore noodles were the best I have tasted as long as I can remember. Well done guys!

Feel let down to order a Chinese online for delivery and not get it for another hour after it was meant to be here. Phoned to be told sorry would be 10-15 minutes which was yet another lie. Turned end up just under hour late. 2 stars as quantity still good.

Has been our usual Chinese place we order from once a month for the past god knows how many years, never taken to long to arrive, never forgotten any items, never arrived cold, no complaints 👍

Great tasting food, decent portions.

I reviewed this take away in December. We returned again in January. We ordered the same meal. It was just as tasty as before. If anything, the salt and pepper ribs were better. Don’t hesitate, go there.

Popped in on a Tuesday evening. Ordered a selection; salt and pepper ribs, Singapore noodles, special fried rice, lemon chicken and deep fried shredded beef with chilli. Well, well, well, what a really nice surprise. It was marvellous. The quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, was top notch. It makes such a difference. The ribs were, as mentioned in a previous review, just the best. We will use Wong’s as our number one from now on.

Yes.they are quick and polite. Just have simple chicken chow mein and it was test-less noodle taken straight from the water so is chicken mix on grease wok with no seasoning at all. Disappointed.

Superb food, delivered as requested at the start of the delivery window. Piping hot, the best ribs I have had in 40 years of eating Chinese in Uk! Highly recommended

Tried a couple of dishes we weren't familiar with and they didn't disappoint (chicken with oyster sauce, house special rice). Not overly salted like many takeaways, plenty of lovely crisp fresh vegetables, tender chicken, and nothing was oily. It's not often you can say you feel like you've had a healthy meal from a Chinese takeaway but that's how we felt after eating from Wong's. If you want something different from the usual salt and oil, you have the option to get it here.

Fast hot food, great quality, crispy pancakes disappointing 99 % Beansprouts no veg

Ordered. Singapore vermicelli (was very, very bland) it was 90% noodles and very little of anything else and had no heat or spice to it at all. Crispy shredded chilli beef, sauce was okay, beef was okay but again no spice or heat at all. Sweet and Sour chicken balls, sauce was more vinegar than sweet and sour. The dough around the chicken was soft and stodgy, when you pinched the slightly crisper outer coating the thick, soft and gooey dough squeeze out like playdow. The chicken was okay but again it was virtually tasteless (just tasted like the dough around it). House special chowmein was okay but the mrs left most of it and was massively dissapointed that it didnt have any bean sprouts, it had one large prawn, lots of slimey chicken and tons of vegetables which though they looked nice just lacked flavour and were very slimey. Overall a generally poor meal which I am thoroughly dissatisfied with, for a Chinese to make bland and tasteless food is a new one for me. Even the mrs said that it would of been better to go to Aldis and make something ourselves, it would of been ready sooner and tasted a thousand times better. Such a shame as this is my local Chinese.

The guys at Wongs are always polite and fast to serve, everything tastes freshly cooked rather than reheated, and they're always happy and smiling, lovely atmosphere to wait for my order in! This is my go-to place for chinese, yum!

I left my wallet in Wongs on a Friday night- they dropped it back to my door lunchtime the following day before I had even had a chance to ring them- really kind service. The food was lovely too!

Fantastic food, chicken balls are extremely good. Staff are friendly and I like the fact the chefs are in chefs jackets and clean and tidy. The shopfront is very clean and you can see into the kitchen too which just shouts, look at us, we're clean and have nothing to hide. If you do a collection it's ready in 10-15mins. Website is very easy to use and order with. Would definitely recommend!!

I’m a regular customer and have never had a bad meal. I’ve tried many items on the menu and am always pleased with the taste and quality. I used the app this time and my food was delivered within ten minutes, exactly what I ordered as I requested no chillies in one of the dishes. Love it. I don’t order Chinese anywhere else.

Food was OK but I asked for a 7PM delivery, which turned up at 5:45PM which was the Wong time which kinda spoils things when you have to reheat it later.

When we first used this takeaway we thought it was great , the last couple of times the food is not the quality it was. Maybe a change of chef ? Last time and the time before we ordered sweet and sour king prawn balls , both times we got sweet and sour chicken balls instead. Second time they wasent very nice either and it was too late to start ringing the shop probably go elsewhere next time shame

Had our food delivered. Brilliant portions. Very hot and tasted beautiful. Can't fault the service or food at all.

Lovely food,great portions,but the only thing that really annoys me is in nearly every dish they overdo the carrot and onions,so I have to stand in the kitchen and pick out these bits with a fork,I think next time I will say I have an allergy to these items,ribs are really meaty,and the crispy duck pancakes,and sauce have become one of our favourites.Forget pancake rolls,just full of bean sprouts and @£1.50 a time bit of a piss take.

Wongs is a lovely littke takeaway. The food is always delicious and the portion size is always good. They have a wide range of dishes to choose from with something for everyone. My favourite is that they do noodles and rice noodles. The chap on the end of the phone is always polite and helpful and he more or less gives you the approximate time when it will arrive to your home. Sometimes it is quicker than their estimation, it's always hot and always delicious.

This food was fantastic. A friend recommended this Chinese to us and we are so glad we cheated from our local. The food is amazing, not greasy and really tasty. This is now our favourite Chinese takeaway. 😋

Popped in here for a quick Chinese takeaway. Plain chow mein, curry sauce and a pancake roll. Very nice indeed. Upstairs, I could hear someone practicing a violin. I will be back for a proper meal next time. This is a good one.

Really delicious food, well cooked, fresh. Staff are always really nice and friendly. They make conversation as you wait for your food and are generally lovely people! Cant wait to have my next meal there!
