Absolutely love coming to The Tollgate — it’s got that perfect mix of a welcoming atmosphere, great drinks, and brilliant service. Mark (the manager) always goes above and beyond to make you feel at home, and the barmaid who works Saturdays is warm, attentive, and brings a really lovely energy to the place. Whether you’re popping in for a quiet pint or a weekend catch-up with friends, you’re guaranteed a great experience. Highly recommend!

I am a very fussy eater and I must say I was worried when I saw my steak but when I took a bite it was cooked to perfection and the flavour was so tasty and steak was juicy and soft. Potato skins with shredded meat & cheese sauce (omg my new addiction) they tasted so nice and the cheese sauce was so yum! My only complaint I have is you have to pay separately for a sauce to pour over your steak. I ordered peppercorn sauce which was £3.50 for a small pot. I think for the price you’re paying for a steak 1 sauce should be given complimentary or you should be allowed to swap a sauce instead of having gravy as no one on our table ate the gravy that comes with the steak. Other than that everything was amazing. Thank you ♥️
