Do not go here! Where to start…. I am reviewing this under the new name ‘Daily Noodles’. My partner and I went here for dinner, we ordered 5 dishes; Vegan Katsu Curry and Rice; Vegan Sticky Soy Chicken Bao Bun’s; Chicken Katsu and Rice; Hot and Sour Pork Dumplings; Katsu Fries. Initially, the dishes came quite quickly, however my partner was concerned with the Vegan Bao Buns when they arrived. It was different to Vegan Chicken she’d received in the past; so we quickly asked the waiter “is this the vegan bao bun”, he was quick to reply without actually looking at the food, stating that it was in fact the vegan option. I wasn’t convinced at this, so when the waiter came back with my Pork Dumplings (which were cold and semi raw), I asked again, if the Bao Bun’s were Vegan? Again, the waiter was quick to reply with a simple “yes”, without properly checking the product and quickly rushing back behind the counter. My partner was satisfied as she’d been reassured now two times, so she began to eat her Bao Bun’s. These turned out to be Chicken… I sent the dish back immediately, stating this was not vegan. The waiter abruptly took the dish back with a simple “sorry”, showing no empathy at all or remorse. A few minutes later my partner’s dish of Vegan Katsu Curry with Rice arrived - this again wasn’t vegan. This time the waiter’s response was “it looks like you have two normal Katsu curry dishes”. Again, no apology, no empathy. It took 20 minutes for my partner’s replacement bao bun’s to arrive, and this was only after I inquired into where they were. I am absolutely disgusted at not only the lack of due diligence taken into the preparation of food, the customer service and the management of this establishment. When I first arrived, I mentioned to the manager that I myself have a severe nut allergy, I was assured that this would be okay, and all the necessary precautions would be taken to avoid cross-contamination. At the end of my meal, after making a formal complaint into the fact that my partner ate chicken, after implicitly asking if her dish was vegan, he told me ‘none of menu contains nuts actually’. What kind of general manager doesn’t know allergens present in his restaurant? I do not recommend anyone, especially those with dietary requirements to visit here, due to their negligence, lack of care and overall lack of customer service.

Ordered delivery from Daily Noodle but they don't seem to have a TripAdvisor page yet, but same ownership. Honestly the worst noodles I've had in a long time. Buttermilk chicken pad Thai came without nuts, about 2 tiny pieces of veg, and incredibly greasy and bland. The chicken was all buried and soggy with grease. I've had chow mein from low end Chinese places that rated better than this. £11 for a bowl of greasy bland noodles and a but if soggy chicken? Crazy... it must be one of the most simple dishes to get right. Literally never left a review before but was so disappointed by this is created an account for this sole purpose. Korean fried chicken wasn't bad but arrived cold. Personally I think it'd be better with sauce on the side so they dont arrive soggy but perhaps that's just me. Won't be ordering again...

This is a ‘container’ restaurant part of the Bristol Wapping Wharf Cargo project/area. As such, it is tiny. From recollection, 6 tables inside which could, at a push, seat 12. There is also outside seating. We both had the fried chicken katsu curry which was excellent. Service was friendly. I’m sure the area is humming in the evenings and we look forward to revisiting the Cargo area and would be happy to eat at Woky Ko again.

Firstly I tried to call the restaurant several times to book a table, but no one picked up. We ended up booking online from Book a table website. I turned up with my daughter and her boyfriend for an afternoon meal and was busier than usual due to graduation. I waited 40 minutes before being served, And even then, it took them longer than the norm to prepare my food. To make matters worse, the staff went for a ‘cigarette break’ whilst people were waiting to be served. Following this, the water cup has watermarks on it. These cups should polish before being given to the customers. It looks disgusting. We complained and have been advised by the restaurant manager Rob to send an email as he has no time! No sense of good customer service ... disappointed! If you value your time, I would have gone elsewhere for your drinks on an evening in Bristol.

Dreadful food.. Kentucky fried chicken in a soup. Very lazy staff who spent their time in side whilst everyone was battling seagulls outside. Dirty sticky tables, broken glass on the floor (seagulls) and inedible food. Can only imagine people are swayed by the atmosphere of the Wharf.. which is great… but go somewhere else! Lots of great food.. just not here!

The food here definitely deserves praise as it is flavoursome and satisfying. The problem is you have to order through a QR code, which makes for an unrelaxing dining experience. Also it can get very riotous and shouty after hours on a weekend, so it isn’t the exactly a chilled back vibe. Great for a sociable bite with friends rather than a date with a princess

Got an outside table on a busy Saturday lunchtime. ere given instructions on how to access the app to order. Good photos of all the food although the menu seemed a bot limited. Three of us had noodle dishes and one a rice dish. All nicely cooked and full of flavour Had kimchi as a side which packed a punch but the portion was on the small side. Also had some XO sauce which was glorious. Dinks were average but welcome. Overall a good experience.

...me and me mates went down the Swan with 2 necks this lunchtime, drank beer then finding ourselves a touch hungry, ordered lamb and noodles, chicken katsu, ribs & kimchi from WokyKo Man via Deliveroo and I have gotta say, as an exprienced home cook and restaurant diner, it was all absolutely delicious. Full stop. I can't think of any criticism to make, neither small nor large and so I can't do anything other than give it the full five stars! Never done that before. Great food, well prepared, beautifully seasoned, properly cooked, great flavours, decent portions, nicely presented and just lovely to eat. Thanks.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

My Review is based almost entirely on value, atmosphere and overall experience. Situated in a small, sparsely decorated container, upon arriving you are invited to scan a QR code which gives you access to a menu where you order online. The menu is not large consisting of around 5 Ramen/ noodle dishes, 3 sides and drinks . We chose a ramen dish each ( one mushroom, miso and One pork based ) and all the sides. The sides were ribs, grilled edamame and kimchi. Firstly the food is great for what it is. All food tastes fresh and is well presented. Ribs were beautifully tender and the noodles were firm with a stock to die for. Their home made kimchi has a unique possibly more genuine flavour. The Edamame beans were great but not the best edamame beans even within a 200m radius… more on that… Unfortunately where this falls down is value, service and overall experience. The venue is very small ( 4 tables inside and a couple outside) and Not really decorated. The music is annoying and you are invited to pay a 10% tip despite very little actual service happening. Ramen dishes range from £12-14 and that is not because the meat dishes have a whole steak for instance - my pork dish had 2 slivers of bbq belly pork., my partner had 1 large mushroom cut into 2. And let’s face it -Ramen is fast cheap food where much of the prep is done up front. The sides were also quite poor value. £5 for edamame, £8 for 5 small baby back ribs. The Edamame were unfortunately also not a patch on 7 lucky Gods version just around the corner and when comparing the variety of menu, the atmosphere and value this place unfortunately falls short with some of the same dishes being pounds more and less of a portion than other similar venues. I feel like even though the food was nice we won’t go back. Maybe putting all their venues together with their different menus might help ( I could have done with some Bao) but I think the price needs to be looked at and if dine in is an option it needs to be more of an experience . Our meal was £47 for 2 portions of ramen and 3 sides (no drinks) .

site_logo

James M . 2021-11-12

The ribs were delicious, the miso ramen was great. HOWEVER, the menu is very limited (it’s pork or mushrooms basically) and the prices are a bit ridiculous….the edamame beans were £5 and nowhere near as tasty as the ones in Seven Lucky Gods upstairs which are £3.50. I personally think £13 for a mushroom miso ramen is OTT. The restaurant is also really basic so you don’t even get the full dining experience for the restaurant price. We had three sides, two ramen and no drinks and it was just shy of £50. Overall, really good food but overpriced, so sadly won’t be going back.

I had high hopes after reading a bit about this place, but on a wet Friday evening out with friends, we popped in here for dinner. There were somethings crossed off the menu, so a more limited choice than expected. I had the the green...

Myself, the wife and two kids under five visited and/or a boat trip local to the restaurant. The noodles and rice dishes we had were stunning and the prices were really good too. Friendly staff, nice vibe and a menu full of food I wanted...

Recommended by a friend and have been multiple times since. Really great food, fresh and very tasty. Can be busy so worth having drinks round the corner and waiting for a table to free up as unlikely to get one straight away (esp if outside)....

We eat here now and then for lunch. Love the Bao buns and also the squid is very very good. If you are on the move they also do takeaway so don't miss this one.

Just popped in for a light snack on a busy Saturday lunch, the food itself was absolutely beautiful and even with how busy it was the staff were faultless. Brilliant atmosphere and just a really lovely time. The salt and pepper squid and the bun...

Had been recommended to eat here and so thankful that we did. We had 2 suppers and one lunch during our 2 day stay in Bristol. The food was fabulous - really tasty, loads of different flavours. The staff were very friendly and helpful -...

Pleasant staff, quick service, fast food but very very tasty. Bit limited for 2 of my party being veggies but still quite good. Very much enjoyed and good price.

Nasty waitress who made me feel utterly unwelcome and made me cry. I asked if we could sit outside and she went "there ARENT any tables and looked really matter of fact gesticulating wildly around when there were 2 tables being used by a couple...

It had a nice vibe but limited and unexciting options for veggies. I had the yakisoba which at £8.50 was overpriced considering it was mostly noodles and a few edame beans.

We popped here opportunistically after having a coffee next door at Mokoko and realised it was nearly lunchtime. It's small but has some outdoor tables for when the weather's nice. The menu is quite tight but the options sound interesting. We had a bao bun...

This is a good restaurant in one of my favourite food spots in Bristol. Situated in one of the cargo units on Bristol docks, the restaurant is small. We had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table, and I think they were seriously understaffed on...

I'd really been looking forward to trying Woky Ko, having read about their bao buns in BBC Good Food, as well as local publications. It was a sunny Friday evening and our group of four was able to get a table outside having walked in....

I came here a while back but didn’t get round to leaving a review. I’m from london, and I went to Bristol to visit family. We came out to eat and we chose this place. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. It was a nice and chilled vibe and a very relaxing experience. This place is good for a meal for two or even a meal for the family. I enjoyed my visit.

We had a takeaway as they are 'Green Vegan' on Uber Eats. I'm so cross because I've just found a chicken bone in one of them. They shouldn't say vegan or even vegetarian.

Forget any revues over 3 months old. A new crew doing the business and they know their stuff. Tandoori chicken with some tomato Dahl was beautiful tasting. Will be back for more.
