We keep coming back for the bulgogi, the fried chicken and the chicken dumplings. The place may look simple, but the quality of the food is amazing. Watch out for the super-hot kimchi with the bulgogi.

Good budget option in the centre, with some tasty vegetarian options. Fried cauliflower was very good and kimchi fries were nice and smoky. Wasn’t a big fan of the curry sauce or vegetarian dumplings, but can’t complain at the price. Portions are on the small side. Service is very good.

This is the worst so called “Korean” food I have ever tried in Bristol. They were just cooking and serving frozen food. We ordered the Topokki, and it didn’t have a good consistency. It didn't taste like restaurant quality food at all. The pork belly slices were just as disappointing, they tasted like they had been simply steamed with a sprinkle of sesame seeds nothing more. Honestly, even I could cook better at home. I will definitely never recommend this place.

The food was gorgeous, perfect plate sizes and quick, friendly service. Lunch deal makes it really affordable and meant that my early dinner was able to be a lovely meal rather than a quick in and out at a fast food place (it runs up til 5pm and meant I got 2 plates, rice, kimchi and a drink for £20)

Unfortunately, my first and last visit. Came with a friend today for a quick corn dog lunch snack. The waitress wasn’t interested at all. We’ve been given cans of coke with no glasses or straws. Corn dogs were tiny, on 1 plate (even though there were 2 of us) we did not get any extra plate. We’ve been not given tissues no nothing and the table was sticky from oil. The prices are high for such a small portion of food. A NO

Really appreciate the food presentation- makes their Korean food looks so gorgeous! And the food also tastes good. However, the way that the dishes are served seems to me much more suitable for having a light meal or enjoying a Korean style snack time. The tofu soup I had in South Korea contained either seafood or meat, and the portion was big enough to serve as a person’s main meal. It is not the case at this restaurant. There is no seafood or meat in their spicy tofu soup and dishes are quite small in portion. Considering the portion of food, the food is a bit pricey. 💔 I feel that the restaurant is more like a bar and maybe I will go there again for tea time. The floor is a bit sticky. Would be much better if it is cleaned more often.🥹

This is just bad Korean food, nothing tastes like Korean food, fried chicken was just soaky and salty, and other dishes were just confusing and weird. The waiter was so confused when I asked for gochujang sauce, if you don't even know what gochujang is, why are you working in a Korean restaurant? As an Asian person, I do not recommend this restaurant.

Back home, I've had countless 순두부찌개, and this tofu soup they serve is barely an imitation. If you are visiting, please order something else. Luckily, the fried chicken is passable; it's about what you'd expect from cheap South Korean takeaways. I've had better, I've had worse. They do have soju(alcohol): Chamisul(16.5%) and some fruit-flavoured variants.

Went here in hopes that the Korean cuisine would be authentic but unfortunately fell short of expectations. We ordered the kimchi fries, corn dogs and soy garlic chicken. The corn dogs were reminiscent of those you would find in the freezer aisle at your local supermarket, they were quite small as well, very different from corn dogs you would get at other korean places. The chicken was not bad but the kimchi fries were not the best either. Prices were not the worst however and service was good.

A little gem of Korean food in Bristol. My girlfriend and I ate here and had a wonderful evening. The service was fast and faultless. There was a great selection of Korean alcoholic and soft drinks to accompany the food. The menu is diverse and can accommodate to allergies. I would recommend booking ahead, and be aware that the portion sizes are smaller than a main meal, so order a good selection accordingly. The Korean Fried Chicken and Beef Bulgogi with Kimchi have so much flavour, and the Corn Dogs are definitely worth a try. What ruined the experience for me was the oily, smokey atmosphere. It got so bad my eyes were stinging and I was desperate for fresh air. The bulgogi was not bulgigi and had a very strange aftertaste, save yourself the time, and buy a marinade from the Asian store. The chicken tasted somehow tasted old, and it tasted like they put a peanut butter sauce in the honey and garlic sauce, why..? The corn dog was okay, but it was nothing to rave about. My tofu curry was VERY watered down, which made it bland. I also had 5 pieces of very small tofu, yes, I counted them. To me, that's ridiculous for something that is priced at £8. And for personal preference, I could've done without the sesame seeds on top of my rice. If I had known beforehand, I would have asked them to leave it off. The portion sizes are ridiculously small and not worth the price. There are much better places in and around Bristol, my partner and I both left very disappointed.

The vegan choices are so tasty and full of seasonings which really impressed me, it makes them addictive which is great as it’s healthy! I think I preferred the vegan choices over the meat which is a first for me! It’s a very casual dining area. For the food itself, I’d give it a 5/5 as I feel it oozes umami and is very comforting. This is my own personal problem but I’m not keen on restaurants that become smoky. They don’t sell Korean bbq so I don’t know why it got smoky as I left the restaurant smelling like food. Which is why I give the experience a 3/5 but that’s not a good enough reason for you to not go. I bet it will feel really cosy in winter but smelling like food is not something I enjoy. Staff were super nice though and I’m definitely recommending the place regardless.

Not Korean, dirty place, inedible food. We went here mid afternoon on Saturday and were the only customers even though the manager who I spoke to half an hour before said I should book as they might be fully booked on a busy Saturday. When we sat down the table next to us was covered in half left food, drinks and cans of previous customers. There were 3 staff basically doing nothing but none of them cleared it up until, at least 5 minutes later, I started to pile the dirty plates up myself. As for the food, every dish was disgusting. The so called Korean fried chicken (photograph) was just heavy batter hiding a small piece of chewy chicken over which they had poured some sweet gloopy Macdonald’s type brown sauce. The “Korean” fried cauliflower (is there such a dish?) was mushy over cooked cauliflower again surrounded by far too much batter with, this time, a cloying pink slime poured on top. The gyoza were not grilled, as billed, they were horrible, stodgy, flavourless and cold. Also covered in sugary brown sauce. The bulgogi was a tiny dish of cold strips of stir fried beef, bearing no relationship to actual bulgogi. I attach the one page menu which has very little on it and very little mention of Korean. Even the kimchi was fake. It was just a tiny pile of soggy cabbage in vinegar and ketchup. The manager, who was perfectly pleasant, was doing the cooking wearing his T shirt but no apron so he served us with his front spattered with bits of food and frying fat. As I write this I am trying to hold back retching as I remember the smell of dirty old frying oil that they obviously rarely change. To be honest it was like eating in a squat; there was a big black hole in the ceiling by the door, the white paintwork in places was dirty and grey and a pigeon came in and walked around under our table whilst we were eating. Sorry guys but surely you could get a Korean cook in to make the food tasty and not just for drunk students. And some self respect.

Maybe it's not my thing but the chicken was kinda of tough, though the dumplings are super.. It took an age 20 mins wait to be served though not that busy. Priced reasonably you can glimpse food being prepped which looks well clean, spotless. A nice chilled atmosphere.

Went here 2 weeks ago for the first time. They forgot our (and also our next table) drinks and had to ask for it because the food came first.... the food was expensive because the "sharing" platters you get is really small. Can't believe how expensive the tofu soup is, definitely not worth it. Taste is also not Korean. Won't come back..

Having been really impressed on a previous visit I chose Dangun for meal with my son. The Korean Fried Chicken was lukewarm and very chewy and not freshly cooked. The fried cauliflower was inedible though. Under the batter it had been fried until black and carbonised. At least they offered not to charge me for it. It was busy so maybe they’ve become a bit complacent or the chef was off that night. Pity.

We ordered Beef Bulgogi but the taste was horrible. Very blunt no taste and no sauce very dry and Im sure its not authentic Korean bulgogi. Im not sure if I will still comeback very disappointed in my first experienced.

Lovely small business. Bit of a limited menu, but what is on it, is good. Will go back to support this business in the future.

Food lacked flavor and place wasn’t clean at all. Seems like from the photos on the wall there used to be a Korean chef.. shame as the photos looked so good.

Food is decent but eating at Danguns is becoming more unpleasant. 6pm Friday and a member of staff sat at a table right by front of house, in uniform, with his feet up and a half eaten smelly Domino's pizza in front of him, not a care in the world. Dirty menu too. Time before that, my food was served but table was dirty and sticky, I asked for it to be cleaned , and the guy sprayed cleaning solution everywhere including on my food, then knocked my bowl of rice off the table. Not pleasant.

Had a delicious lunch here on Sunday. Was warm enough to sit outside & the waiter set up a table for us. For the three of us we ordered Chicken Dumplings, Bulgogi, 2 x Korean Fried Chicken both sauces, Korean Fried Cauliflower & some rice on the side. Our order didn't take long to come & was piping hot. The food was delicious especially the Korean Fried Chicken with spicy sauce.

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how wonderful the food is here! This is without doubt the best Indian food in Bristol! ….we eat in as the service is exceptionally friendly and accommodating and it makes a change from being at home but some may find the environment a little simplistic; in which case bring good company, good wine and good conversation! The Pathia, Achari and Chana Paneer are out of this world! Try it out or try a take away…you won’t be disappointed!

Forget any revues over 3 months old. A new crew doing the business and they know their stuff. Tandoori chicken with some tomato Dahl was beautiful tasting. Will be back for more.
