Wok Inn, Crowborough in Wealden

Really poor .. meat and vegetables cut so big needed to eat it with a knife and fork … quality of pork was fatty (dog liked it though) … sweet and sour chicken was good … crispy duck was ok (definitely not a quarter of a duck … they must get more than 4 quarters out of one duck!!!). It used to be our favourite takeaway - it was so poor we won’t be back

by far the very worst chinnese food i have ever tasted in my 58 years. Absolute rubbish. Perfect if you really want to be disappointed or get a divorce. If your going on a first date and you take the lady here it will be your only date. If the reveiws left by others are real. Sorry but you have never left your village and you need to get out of your area more. The restaurant looks amazing the staff were lovely but the food is on another level. Dont waste your time or money.

Horrible, some was cold before it arrived also missing items. Staff not the most helpful. Chicken was like rubber Rice and one chicken dish stone cold Avoid try Jades palace much much better

Don’t order takeaway for delivery from this lot. After nearly two hours of no food, after being told it’s on its way again and again still no food. We told them to poke it. So can’t review the food as it didn’t turn up. what a waste of time hungry family and Friday movienight ruined. Crap service, I hate company that over promise and under deliver. If you can’t do it don’t say you can!!!!!!!

We went to this restaurant for the first time and would definitely recommend it. The service was excellent as was the food. The waitress was very helpful.

We ordered online on the 18/5/18 order was accepted and delivery time confirmed, half an hour later it says that my order has been cancelled due to them being to busy.. That not being the case, then tried to order the next day much earlier in the evening with the same thing happening... I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager when I heard him say to the lady on the phone ‘ We do NOT want that awful woman’s business..’ and refused to speak to me on the phone, being a regular customer I’m furious with how I was treated. I certainly do NOT recommend them to anyone who wants decent food and any level of customer service!!!!!!!!!

Now Tiger Tiger just had our third takeaway. Definitely the best Chinese in Crowborough. We are near enough to walk so no comment on delivery . Food is great highly recommend

Tiger Tiger formally The Wok Inn is back. The food is as brilliant as always, but now the service is sorted too. A really great night and the staff were fantastic, really attentive, polite and helpful. Back to being the best Chinese in East Sussex.

Having read reviews about the new management before using the Wok Inn we were a little concerned. Our experience, however, was very positive. Our Home Delivery meal arrived on time and the food was delicious. We had a variety of main courses and everyone was happy with the standard. Would definitely use again.

This Chinese restaurant is in Crowborough but is good enough to be in the heart of China Town in Soho. For starters we usually have barbecued spare ribs and satay chicken and, not only are they always absolutely delicious, but the meat is plentiful. After that there are a range of lovely dishes to choose from. Their crispy noodles are particularly good and, again, they do not stint on the toppings. I have often been surprised at how many King prawns I have been given with them. We also love the service in this restaurant. They are so friendly and attentive and always make it a most enjoyable evening out. We come away feeling better about life!

So Disappointed. Just had a delivery and both main courses were a great disappointment. Missing the ginger from the lamb course, the teriyaki beef was just not right at all. What's going on? Get your act together Wok Inn.

Located in the center of Crowborough near all the shops, and other restaurants. I went there recently for lunch, and was very impressed with the quality of food served. The place is very clean, and has a unique atmosphere.

We have used the wok inn for take aways and eat in for years . Unfortunately we had a take away and it was terrible ! Completely different food and was really bad . Rang up to let them know and see what's going on, it is under new ownership !! They offered £10 off the next meal but I said if the food was the same we would decline and wanted our money back from this order , they refused . We had spend £40 and couldn't eat most of it . Beware , won't be using again . Real shame about the last owners leaving

Had my usual chicken and black bean sauce with a chicken chow mein and duck spring rolls on the side. Never fails to disappoint. Always delicious and big portions too, quality always top notch!

I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Really great food from start to finish, a treat of an evening. A firm favourite of ours and a cut well above the rest.

Went there with the family last week and the food and service was outstanding. Although is was busy we still didn't have to wait too long for our food. Some of the dishes may be a bit pricey but it was of excellent quality, very tasty and big portions. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is very welcoming, they also have a backyard for smokers. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

FYI they just scored a 1 and failed their health inspection. I will remove this when they get a passing score. This is a breach of trust between us and the chef. Who knows what we have eaten.

Having discovered that this restaurant scored 1 on last year's council Food Hygiene rating only after we had placed our order, we were filled with trepidation. However we need not have worried. The food was of excellent quality, really tasty and plenty of it.The service was great - friendly staff, prompt delivery and although more than we would expect to pay at home in Norfolk, the price seems reasonable for the area.Would definitely use again if in the area.

They managed to fit us in w/o a booking on Saturday night!! Our son, aged 8 was looked after with Chips & Chicken + chocolate ice cream, thank you! That left us to have a really enjoyable Chinese meal, lovely flavours and reasonably priced. Highly recommended

went here on Saturday evening as a group of 6 were served our first course and were then ignored for next hour didn't get our main course as taxi arrived to pick us up there had obviously been a problem in the kitchen but we were very disappointed by the experience.what makes it worse was that the food we had was very nice but wont be going back any time soon

This restaurant is great, the food is superb and has done dishes that are not on the lists if others. There is a good flavour and fresh ingredients that can be tasted in the food. The service is friendly and not overpowering. It has quiet surroundings and also outside space for smokers too. Lovely little place if your a big eater they have a menu for us too, all cooked to order. Great!

What a lovely little Chinese really tasty food the duck is to die for cooked to perfection and the noodles are very tasty great staff couldn't do more for you, lovely atmosphere here also so we will return again

We ordered take-away and chose to collect as it would have been a long wait to get the food delivered.The food was excellent - really delicious, hot, good quality ingredients, tasty ....Unfortunately one dish from our order was missing which we only discovered when we got home. We gave them a ring and they sent one of their delivery drivers round with the missing dish within about 20 minutes.

We recently moved to Crowborough and after trying numerous local chinese take-away's we stumbled upon this gem. Then we booked a table on a Wednesday night and were not disappointed at all. Good service and the food was absolutely amazing.We ordered the eat as much you can menu which was for £20 each and they cook this fresh and served at you table. Excellent value combined with a good service. Will definitely be visiting here again and again...

My problem is NOT with the Wok Inn but with Just Eat ! I went through the just eat site that offered me a 20% discount on my meal when I press the buttons to order through their site and I never got the discount. Not Good will be phoning wok inn direct and NOT using Just Eat again as they lied.

The seaweed was missing from our order, but food took so long to arrive couldn't be bothered to ask them to send it. Prawn crackers weren't very nice and prawn toast didn't have much prawn the opting but the chicken balls and chilli beef were very good. Shame really 😕

New menu which looks cheap and tacky with pictures of food (pet hate). This comes with new prices which aren't so cheap. Some items as much as 41% more expensive!!! Going to have to consider an alternative takeaway in future. Ridiculous prices.

Food was stone cold although we only live just around the corner. Portions were tiny compared to other Chinese takeaways in Crowborough. Quality was very poor and we will never use again. Grossly. Over priced too

Awful service. Never ordering from here again. Ordered 2 hours before I had to ring again to then receive my order half an hour after that! Rude delivery man. Food was average. Completely in acceptable how long it took and how they forgot about it. Not the first time.

Friendly, courteous staff. Excellent service. Good ambiance. Satay chicken perfect, moist and tasty, as was the seaweed. My friend gave his salt and pepper squid a big 5 stars!Duck course lovely apart from only 5 pancakes between the two of us and not enough for the generous quantity of duck. It would have been my preference to have it taken off the bone at the table. On to the mains, lemon lamb and teriyaki beef, both superbly flavoured, tender and generous portions. Will be returning to try more from the mouthwatering menu. Thank you to the Wok Inn for a great meal, well worth the money!

We have been going to the Wok Inn for several years and it never disappoints. This was a birthday meal for my son and the staff made the evening really fun with balloons, card and a special dessert. The service was excellent and even a minor blip in our order was quickly rectified. The food was as good as ever and it was excellent value. Unfortunately we don't live around the corner or we would eat here all the time!

The website quoted the delivery charge as being £1.00, but we had to pay a further£2.00 cash to the driver - we are 4 miles away, but it would have been good to be told beforehand. We asked for a delivery time of 7.45 because we had to put our small grandsons to bed, but it was delivered at 6.45. We kept the food warm in the oven, but there's no doubt that the waiting time had an adverse effect on the quality of the food.

Decided to try out the Wok Inn after recently moving to Crowborough one Saturday evening and I must say I was blown away. The food was brilliant! After visiting many other Chinese restaurants in my time The Wok Inn is up there with my favourites, was nice to see what I assumed some young local lads working as waiters who were easy to understand and served me politely without being to invasive. 10/10 will be coming again!

Brilliant in every way apart from the fact we have ordered crispy noodles numerous times but have never been any crispy ones.

When the family were visiting for christmas we decided to go out for a Chinese in the run up to christmas. At the time jades palace was my local so we tried in there however they were full! So we tried the wok inn round the corner, not only did the have a table available in there significantly bigger restaurant i was pleasantly surprised at how pleasant the interior was. I assumed the restaurant would be horrible based on the outside but it was lovely. We were greeted well by the staff, taken to our table, had our jackets hung up for us and were given some free prawn crackers! We had a bottle of house red which was brilliant value at 13 pounds as it complimented the meal well. The lady helped us decide what to order, appearing to know the menu almost off by heart. The food came within a reasonable time considering it was busy which gave the restaurant a happy christmas feeling. The food appeared expensive compared to jades palace however the portions were more generous at the wok inn. Would 100% recommend based on our experience! Since then we have had two takeaways which have been equally as lovely! Don't think twice about visiting this place just do it. My new local Chinese.

This is not like any other Chinese restaurant I've been to. It's by far the best food I've had. The flavours are fresh and vibrant. Each dish tastes individual and you don't feel that horrible bloated feeling you get from most Chinese. The staff are very helpful and can't do enough for you. Would highly recommend!

Went night before Valentine's night to beat the rush. Did not book but restaurant had a spare table for the two of us. We Ordered the house special meal for two which was tasty. We had a bottle of house white £13.50 this was of reasonable quality and went well with the meal. We have been before, lunchtime and sampled the cheap menu which drew us back for an evening meal. The total cost was £72 for the food wine two diet cokes and 10% service charge. We thought that it was worth the money and the staff were tip top, polite and caring.

This is a regular of mine. The food is a definitely cut above "local" standard and the atmosphere is very welcoming. There is a good range of dishes including a number of seafood choices. Everything I have ordered has been freshly prepared. Spicing is good and the staff offer realistic advice on any of the menu items. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends and I am delighted to see that the staff haven't taken to rating it themselves unlike some others in the area!

Went with friend for lunch, had the fixed price four course meal, big choice of every course, not easy to choose. Delicious food, lots of it, couldn't manage it all. Great food, friendly service, looking forward toy next visit.

Fabulous restaurant great food, helpful staff, good prices! Just generally a brilliant find. Take away service is impeccable accurate timings, food is still very warm upon arrival. Ive had 3 take aways and all were correct, properly packed and the 2 i had delivered were on time. Eating experience is one of a kind! Staff do everything for you including opening your chopsticks and hanging up your jackets. Then comes a lovely hot meal to suit your tastes with there brilliant choice of freshly cooked food. P.s Two very good looking young male waiters! Go and try this place!
