A very nice, good value fixed-price lunch menu, with an enjoyable choice of dishes. The a la carte menu also looks delicious. Parking is easy, and the staff friendly and helpful.

Went yesterday (26/10/24) for lunch, with family. We’d had a previous visit and liked it very much, so yesterday’s visit was based on our first meal there. We weren’t disappointed! It was an early lunch (12 noon), so not many other customers at that time but it didn’t detract from the atmosphere. I was pleased to see a mature lady eating without a companion, which indicated she felt comfortable in her surroundings, always good to know for women visiting by themselves. The food was delicious. Unlike other restaurants I’ve visited in the past, the dishes were presented very nicely and NOT swimming in fat. Everything was cooked to perfection and I have to say their Crispy Chili Shredded Beef was the best I’ve ever had. The noodles were light and not stodgy, all the dishes were delicate and not heavy going. The staff were extremely pleasant and attentive and although it s a little way from where I live, I regard the Wok Inn as somewhere I will happily return to again and again. Highly recommended.

Had a takeaway from here and it was incredible! Will be going there for a meal soon as everyone enjoyed it so much and the place looks beautiful online

Not the greatest, all meat was slightly overcooked in my opinion. Certainly not the worst. Not too expensive, probably mid range. The service however was good so that negates the overcooked food.

Nice food, staff pleasant but quiet. Atmosphere was not helped with it being quiet by background music. Thought we were at a Richard Claydleman concert.

Amazing all you can eat !! came here with a group of friends lovely lovely food we did the all inclusive and it certainly was that- we had mixed starters squid prawns duck followed by a vast selection of dishes for mains the salt pepper squid was delicious we had several portions .... if you like nice Chinese food its a lovely place to come thank you for a lovely meal

I phoned early to beat the Friday rush. The food was not what I ask for in anyway. Just big lumps of chicken in a sticky sweet sauce with no vegetables or care. Probably last night leftovers. I don't like to be treated in this manner and feel very unhappy about it. 😡

Without doubt the best Chinese restaurant In the Lewes area. Service was prompt. Menu was extensive. Choice of wines and beers, excellent. Food presented with style and cooked to perfection. No complaints whatsoever. Oh, I forgot to mention - exceptional value Well done!

Beautiful place out in the countryside with a lovely garden to relax in and have a drink before enjoying their lovely food. Service was brilliant and the atmosphere inside is lovely well worth a visit

I am always delighted with the food and service - the waiters and waitresses are delightful and really look after you in an unobtrusive way.

Got there 12:30 Friday and there was plenty of space. Went for the fixed menu at £15.50 per head. We had sweet and sour chicken and a chicken satay to start. For our main we had a chicken and a beef rendang curry, beef in chilli black bean, and more sweet & sour chicken. 2 toffee banana to finish. Food was not very hot. The piano music was a little sombre but service was good. We used to come frequently but this time the food was not quite as good as we remembered it. Beef rendang was lots of fatty grissle.

A wonderful location off the beaten track, we saw the building as we drove past, had to double back to check it out. We were greeted by delightful children who showed us how to get in. Very spacious restraunt, friendly staff, menu choices was comprehensive, we ordered Sichuan Feast. The quality was excellent, followed by Aromatic duck with all the trimmings, excellent tender meat. Sweet & sour Chicken, sweet chilly king prawns, oh so filling. Wonderful experience.

I've been to the Wok Inn before and enjoyed it, but the prawns I had yesterday didn't taste quite right and after my meal yesterday I felt sick and I'm still feeling unwell today.

We had a lovely meal tonight, there are lots of dishes to choose from and every one we had was freshly cooked, hot and tasty. It is such a good idea to have smaller portions of each dish so you can try many different things. Will definitely be going back.

Very poor experience. Haven't been to the Wok Inn since for about 6 years. Arranged a 60th birthday party for 14 guests for Sunday lunch service. Sadly due to unavoidable traffic, 2 of the guests were late so it was 2pm before we had sat down which we apologised for. Felt rushed because of restaurant closing at 4pm for 1hr before reopening at 5pm. This was told to us before we had even sat down so felt rushed from the start. Restaurant was mainly empty with the majority of guests having left just as we arrived. The bill came before we had asked for it or were ready, we left and stood outside and almost instantly the doors to be locked behind us. Food was ok, portions were small but for 3 course lunch and price it was relative. £4 for pint of Coke which is overpriced in comparison to other places locally. Service was very disappointing. Very rushed, clearing plates before all had finished eating and service charge was added to the bill -which my husband requested to be removed from our share which staff obliged with eventually. Really disappointing- won't be returning.

Ordered takeaway while on holiday in the area. Very good food. We enjoyed every dish. It seemed to us it was made with all fresh ingredients. Good value for money. Will certainly consider eating inside if we visit again. Either way, I definitely recommend.

Me and a group of friends visited the Wok Inn yesterday evening and tried one of their meal deals. I have to say that the food was absolutely delicious. We had so many amazing, mouth watering different dishes and not one compliant from any of our group. We thoroughly had a fantastic evening, food drinks and service was second to none, the staff where amazing and nothing was to much trouble. I would say that this is the Best Chinese Restaurant that I have eaten in, in a very long time. Well done to all the staff at the Wok Inn, we will definitely be coming back again and again soon ;-)

Traditional English pub turned tastefully into a fine oriental dining experience. Very large menu to suit all tastes including vegetarian. Plenty of dining tables can accomodate a large party. Ample parking space. Wheelchair accessible. Very friendly and attentive staff.

We enjoyed our evening at the Wok Inn and would recommend a visit if you like Chinese food. The decor and ambience are welcoming and the staff very polite and attentive. The food was excellent with a great choice on the menu. One complaint would be that the plates were cold which led to the food cooling down very quickly. However the food was very tasty and the chicken tender. We will definitely return.

THE WORST CHINESE TAKEAWAY I HAVE EVER HAD. Everything was very bland and dry, noodles must have been sitting there for hours the chicken satay was solid. Rice was ok, the house special was soggy, the crispy shredded beef wasn’t crispy and more like jelly. Was massively disappointed, maybe is better eating in house but I would not order a takeaway.

Used to go years ago and was always nice when they done the buffet. As left it late to book somewhere for NYE our options were limited. Food incredibly salty, noodles had no taste, overcooked food. Plus the added extra of a silver fish given to us on a plate. Won’t be going again.

I've been here many times. Last night was one of the best meals I've had. Thank you to all the staff.

We had a lovely family meal and were well looked after by the staff, it was a Saturday evening and the place was nearly empty - can't think why as the food was delicious and the setting wonderful. Some very nice dishes to choose from, making a change from the usual High Street chinese menus. The prices were reasonable considering the service, ambience and food quality. Will definitely eat here again.

Had dinner here today and everything was fantastic! The food really tasty, the staff so helpful and the atmosphere was great. They even made us special dishes for us vegans 👍

Was staying with friends 3 weeks ago and 6 of us had a take away. I can honestly say it was the worst meal I have ever experienced from a Chinese. Even a simple dish like bbq ribs were over cooked, black and totally solid. It's a great shame as the venue itself looks full of character.

Lovely old pub converted to a restaurant, food was excellent as well as the service. However watch out for the large & deep potholes in the carpark.

Very disappointed! Have been going to The Wok for years for the set lunch ! Went today to find that you could only have one starter either soup or a side whereas before you could have both ! Then two main courses and a side ! The portions were seriously small and although very tasty the size not good ! Price increase on the set menus shame portions didn’t match ! Tried to swap sweet for a side dish instead that was met with a definite no ! Tried to pay extra for a side dish ! Again it was no ! Sorry Wok you have lost a good regular customer !

Driven past here for ages but finally decided to check it out after reading a few reviews. What a lovely evening. Both the food and service were amazing. It’s so rare to find an authentic restaurant off the beaten track, where you don’t feel like you’re on display in a shop window. Ignore the awful reviews on here, they’re completely wrong!

Had my first Chinese from the wok this evening and I have got to say it’s the best Chinese I’ve ever had! I’m veggie and was well provided for with options, it was pure heaven. I had bean curd, spicy aubergine, rice and the seaweed. Ate the whole lot! Cannot recommend enough. I will be back!

Food excellent, decor very pleasing on the eye, so much so my sister in law looked even more beautiful sitting under the Chinese maple tree. The staff were friendly and efficient, perfect waiting time for food served once ordered , would definitely eat there again if I was ever in the location .

I've eaten at Wok Inn many times over the years. I used to love the Sunday buffet and it is much missed. That said I still think the set lunch is still a great choice for a well balanced relaxed lunch. There is a good amount of choice and although the dishes are small portions they are perfectly tasty and all the food gets eaten (no food waste), perfect in my opinion. There were 8 in my party and all that remained were a few rib bones. Not a massive range of veggie/Vegan options but my son (vegan) and daughter (vegetarian) always enjoy their food. I'm not vegan but the vegan duck is very good. I've never had a bad meal or dining experience at Wok Inn. I'm sure we'll be back very soon.

Good dining experience with a wide choice and options. Set meal for lunchtime, although limited choice compared to the main menu where there is far more choice.

Mediocre food. Bland at best. Puzzled as to why it's so popular. Mushroom dish tasted of nothing but deep fried mushrooms. Noodle dish with king prawns and pork crackling tasted like someone just tipped a bag of pork scratchings into a bowl of noodles. Not fresh at all. Not a foodies place, more of an office party location. Place is so big any atmosphere is sorely lacking.

driven passed this place for years. but finally went in last night. I will continue driving passed. £4 for a lime and soda. food stuck in the 70s . lovely service but honestly the food was dreadful. restaurant feels dirty. So but the worst restaurant we have been in for a very long time. they knocked £10 off our bill of £96 .for 2 . then didn’t actually give us our change anyway. We didn’t ask for discount. when asked how the food was i was honest and said dreadful. but put it down to experience and to never return. Think long and hard before going. Shame

The food is very good, and is perfectly cooked, can’t complain at all for the quality, but the down side is that on the lunchtime menu which we had, the portions are small, and you feel like you need something else to fill you up once you have arrived home.

Another fantastic meal at the Wok Inn tonight, I can not rate it high enough. We have been visiting the restaurant for years and it never disappoints. The food is delicious, and always is. The service is friendly, attentive and the food is always served quickly. We have multiple Chinese Restaurants in the town we live in but choose to visit the Wok over them every time. And when ordering a takeaway we have the choice to have a Chinese takeaway delivered, but choose to drive to the Wok and collect our takeaway instead! If you’ve not tired it give it a go…you won’t be disappointed!

Visited here for a Monday lunch. Lovely food...but restaurant was freezing, with the radiators on! Would definitely return, but will take a blanket!!

Visited twice in the last two weeks with friends for the lunchtime fixed price menu. Very good value, friendly efficient service, food was hot and tasty and delivered to our table at a good pace (not rushed). A good place for a leisurely lunch. (Remember closed Most Tuesdays) 🤓

Been one of my favourites for about 25 years but definitely on the decline....went for the traditional lunchtime menu but now you miss a course with having to decide whether to have either a soup or a starter, no prawn crackers, portions were tiny and service just weird kept taking away plates etc...sadly after probably a hundred or so meals won't be returning.

The vegi duck was so realistic, thought it was real. Lots of options and you can do it all. You can eat option

We had our end of year group gathering, about 40 of us. Food was great, plenty to eat and topped up regularly, couldn't fault it.

The food was really tasty, portion sizes quite small. Limited gluten free. Didn't like the face masks, couldn't understand the servers and service was quite slow.

We haven't visited the Wok in a very long time, but as a friend had given us a voucher as a Christmas present, we thought it was about time we used it. The food was tasty and the staff were very friendly and the service was great, especially as for a Friday evening they appeared short staffed and those there worked their socks off. My only criticism is the ladies toilets could do with a serious makeover. Signs up saying not to flush the paper and you have to put in a bucket that doesn't even have a lid, left me feeling a bit yuck! Overall though I would return.

Lovely setting. The food was excellent, four of us ordered individual dishes, all of them were served piping hot and were very tasty. The service was first class and the atmosphere and ambience of the surroundings is authentic and pleasing on the eye. We loved the fancy napkins and the orange leafed tree! Highly recommend eating here, you won't be disappointed.

Food ok.Bowls brought to table too soon.So were cold when food brought out.Nothing exciting of the food, over cooked and over priced.No sunday buffet anymore.Garden and car park needs a good tidy up and the fish in the so called pond need a bigger space as not much room for them to move around.So all in all not impressed.Will not rush back.

I have very happy memories of this place from when it was originally in Nutley and the food continues to be great after 20yrs of custom! The lunch menu has gone up in price recently, as has the all you can eat, which is why I've knocked a star off. As much as I enjoy the food, price at a point where I debate value before making the half hour drive. The restaurant desperately needs a sign/ better advertising on the approach as its easy to miss. *Edit. The price has increased again since original post and I think it’s no longer justifiable

The staff were disgustingly rude! The service was very poor. The food was cold and when we complained they said we took to long to eat it. There was a very unwelcoming atmosphere, felt like they wanted us to leave as soon as we got there. They took my partners plate away before he had finished. I do not recommend going here! It looks nice but the staff let it down massively.

Shocking service. Was made to feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. All the staff was lingering around our table and kept asking if we have finished while we was still eating. The food was cold and when we complained we was told we didn’t eat it fast enough. Weird. Would not recommend

This is by far the worst place I have ever eaten. The staff were so rude,three of them standing over our table whilst eating asking if we have finished on multiple occasions. Got the feeling we wasn't wanted there and felt extremely out of place. Also was told that ice cubes was 50p a cube. On top of this food was cold and the response we had from the staff was "because we took long to order lol. How would they have known what we wanted for it to be cold whilst ordering 🤔. I've never been faced with such rude members of staff before in my life. Avoid at all cost and also they pretty much demanded on us paying a service charge.... I think not

I am extremely disappointed that I have to write a negetve review, but after my recent visit to this restaurant, I would advise people to avoid if they would like a pleasant evening. The food had great taste, however it turned cold really quick. Each person left the meal feeling hungry and dissatisfied. It was also extremely overpriced for what it was. The staff were extremely rude. I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant at all. They were sarcastic and rude throughout our time there. They also tried to clear the table whilst people were still eating and took plages people were still eating from. When they asked how our food was, they were more interested in arguing then trying to resolve the problem. Also, when my partner asked for some ice for his drink, he was told that they charge 50p per cube. We could not quite believe what we were hearing. When we questioned that, he informed us that many restaurants charge for ice. Never again.

Food was great but service was not so good, two or three of the waiting staff were just wandering about, why do the waiting staff not have there own are to look after , that way the people eating would know who to ask should they need anything, we never got asked if everything was OK, such a shame as we won't return , even the bar was chaos ,the young lad trying to serve 3 separate people , one gentleman ordered a pint was told your have to wait till I get chance to change the barrel,
