Staff are rude and arrogant. And aggressive. Absolutely disgusted with the treatment received here. I would not recommend to anyone. I feel staff required training for customer service and communication skills. Vile staff.

Such a fabulous cafe. The food is super fresh and tasty and as you can see from the photos there is a vast choice. The coffee and cakes are both top notch. We liked the little bikes and the pedal cars they put out for children to play with. The staff are very happy and the prices for the quality of the food are very good. There is inside and outside seating. The park often has a football match or cricket match going on but it’s so big if it’s not your thing you can easily avoid it. There is also a very nice children’s play park. Plus the park has clean public loos . Well worth a trip 😎

Everything is good about this cafe. There's a really good children's play area nearby, arranged roughly by age group (what a good idea), easy on-street parking beside the park, and lots of trikes, scooters, and ride-on toys for the little ones to use. The cafe is super, good coffee, really nice food. I had a fish-finger/horseradish and watercress sandwich - delicious, - my wife had a tuna-melt on chiabatta - also delicious, - and our granddaughter had fish fingers and beans and toast, the toast on a separate plate, everything beautifully prepared, sensible plates for the little one. The service was very friendly and caring, the prices very reasonable, a nice seating area, partly shaded. Altogether excellent.

Visited here for a delicious breakfast, very reasonably priced too and the staff were lovely. We were also here for a toddlers birthday party at the back of the cafe, the table was laid out beautifully and the kids lunch was really generous and nicely laid out. We got off to a bad start with our order being taken by the unsupervised "new girl" and it came out wrong. However, the management was quick to rectify and we had an enjoyable lunch. Nice cakes too. There was a "tea dance" going on outside after lunch and that was a fun spectacle.

This cafe is one the best things about living in Hove. Certainly one of the best places for coffee and cake (they are all home made by Carla) and the menu is very good and varied and excellent value. The kids menu is varied too so this makes it the ideal place for families with the playground and playing field on the doorstep. The main reason we visit though is Carla. She owns and runs the business with Mark her partner and her warm and genuine personality have made many locals her regular customers. They also have events from time to time such as Meet the Owls and Jazz Sunday. It is such a great location to sit and have coffee or a bite to eat and a totally inspired idea to open a cafe here. You are always assured of a warm welcome and an excellent cup of coffee. I recently found out that they serve the same brand of coffee as Selfridges. Not surprising really!

We sat outside in the sun on Sunday with our dog having breakfast in the middle of the park. Although we had to wait a while due to the football rush we had the most delicious breakfast. The bubble and squeak is to die for. Loved the toasted sour dough too rather than just boring old toast! The cup of tea was really well made too! We will be going again especially as there is now more in doors seating.

i belong to a tennis club and for a while now 2 or 3 times a week we go to this cafe for brunch after a game. The food is amazing quality and very good value. The soups are tasty. Everything homemade. The staff are always cheerful and polite. Lovely 'touches' often given a free fill up of our pot of tea. Free cake tastes when Carla has some left over. Easy to park. I always recommend this excellent cafe which really cares for its customers. Pleased to see they are making space inside so we can continue to eat there in the .winter. Excellent fresh food and amazing cheerful service.

The prices are amazingly reasonable the quality is great and working out whether to open or not on a cold wet winter weekend -knowing how fickle the great British public are at supporting any small business - must be a nightmare for the operator!Carry on Wish Park CafeSF

I took all of my children (3) to wish park yesterday, the play area was quite busy as it was a lovely sunny day.I brought them all an Ice cream from the café as they had been running around playing, the young lady that served us was very friendly and attentive and also the café prices are very reasonable. Being a chef I had a look at their main menu and there is some nice seasonal dishes on it,these are also very reasonable and I was tempted to stay with my children and have dinner in the parkBut unfortunately we had to leave to take my eldest son home, but I`m sure we will return in the very near future.

The opening of Carla's cafe has transformed the experience of using Wish Park, we have to as both our sons are football mad, so we do the Saturday drop in football with West Hove Dynamos (which incidentally is also great). They serve excellent quality locally sourced produce with an interesting menu that changes, at very reasonable prices. The service is great and would seem to be permanently cheerful.I would say that the council were extremely fortunate to have Carla take the site on as it has totally transformed the experience of using Wish Park. Now also has free Wifi, even better.Could not recommend too highly!!SF

Coffee good, food hit and miss. We've set off to go there so many times on a sunny week end only to find it closed that we've given up trying. Except the other day, when passing we noticed it open. It's in a lovely location. Great for sitting in the park in the sun watching sports games going on around and the little kids playground was a favourite for years - even better now there's a cafe. But they need to be consistent in opening days.

I went to the cafe today for lunch with my masters class which was a group size of 6. We ordered at the same time and was told likely be a 15-20 minuet wait and we went to see down. We understand it can take time for these things. However, 30 minuets go by and only 2 people have gotten their full English breakfasts and hot drinks. 15 mins go by and one more meal comes out. I went down to ask how much longer on the other meals and was told “soon” and that they didn’t actually have all the chips that ordered and had 2 refund 2 of 3 of the chips. This is after 45 minuets I remind you. Eventually one of us got a salad and cold oven cooked chips, leaving me and one other with no food. The final full English was told to us to be another 20 minuet wait so we had to refund it and get a sausage roll in replaced and was asked to pay the remainder which is fine but not something I would make someone do at the cafe I work at, especially waiting 45 mins and told it would be another 20mins. To top it all off, when I went down to ask if my salad could be put in a takeaway box as I have to go back to lecture, I was then told they lost the ticket and I would have to wait for another one. This is when I heard another customer say they felt bad as they ordered the same order after and got theirs first… I had to get a refund and this was after a whole hour of waiting. 45 mins to tell us they didn’t have what they ordered. 40 mins to tell us they had to start a new order for full English 1 hour to tell me they lost the ticket. I was given the reason to all of this was only one chef in the kitchen, on a Saturday any Laines worker will tell you that it is the busiest day of the week. I was given excuses not apologies. I understand bad things happen but this was appalling. Don’t go on weekends if you want service. That was my mistake.

*Edit* There is not a word of truth in the reply! Blatant lies! Waste of Money. £11 for a 55 minute slot is extortionate, you then have to spend £6 per head which isn't hard. But our main issue other than the poor cats being overwhelmed from non-stop attention, and trying to hide and escape the humans, and the music which would have been relaxong if it hadnt have been so loud, was the service. Friendly enough but Creams levels of slow and disjointed. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, a further 10 to have our order taken, another 20 for half our drinks and finally got the last 2 drinks and cold brownies 3 minutes before the end of our slot. With 5 tables in the whole place I cannot begin to comprehend what could possibly take so long. On top of that the claw machine was broken, we pointed this out to the waiter who promised to fix it and refund us, but that never happened. To be fair we were in too much of rush to finish up and free up our table for the next slot to remind him. Honestly, would not recommend to anyone. Total waste of money.
