Could have had a small cooked breakfast for £5.99 but instead opted for the poached eggS on toast….. received a thin slice of toast and ONE small poached egg! Don’t know have they justify the pricing and menu said eggs!! Pathetic

Had a slice of tea bread . I asked for it toasted as thought it was a bit like a tea cake. When it came it was like dry slice of bread with a couple of pieces of dried fruit thrown in .Don’t think it had ever seen any tea and cost more than two slices of toast .

Firstly the cakes and coffee is great!. We decided to share a toastie sandwich with chips. Asked for an extra plate. Food came out, no chips nor extra plate. Perhaps she was having a bad day but plate was plonked on table, we asked about the chips " run out" came the reply " can stick another batch on" err no, food comes altogether. Got a refund on the missing chips. Won't eat here again as not cheap.

We have visited this café quite a few times for a snack . They have large plate pies in the display cabinet and as it was my mothers birthday we thought we would have a steak pie dinner . We all had the same and what a big disappointment it was . Cut into the pie and found only 2 pieces of steak and just gravy and that was the same in all 3 pieces. The salad was just a pile of lettuce , cucumber and onion . It won’t stop us visiting again but we would never have the pie again .

Lovely cakes, scones & other treats on offer. Sadly, the bacon butty wasn't so great. If the weather's good, there's a great outdoor seating area. Little bit concerning that staff couldn't produce their allergens listed when we asked to check for the presence of nuts in some of the cakes.

Having been out delivering Christmas cards, decided a pit stop was in order. Having visited Windlebridge in the past we decided a light lunch was in order, we initially chose the lasagne, but they had sold out so changed to the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwich with chips and salad. An excellent choice as it turned out. A beautiful soft bap, filled with succulent turkey sliced properly a tasty stuffing and cranberry sauce. The homemade chips chunky, with a floury centre were excellent, a small mixed salad with a winter slaw topped everything beautifully. A pot of tea for 2, total bill £18:10. Absolutely cracking value. The sevice was brisk and efficient with the severs clearing tables as they went back to the kitchen which to my eyes shows that the management are on the ball. Heartily recommend a visit, by the way they also sell Christmas trees!

Been a couple of times now for a bacon bap before a walk. Pleasantly quiet before 10. Pity it wasn’t warm enough to enjoy the new outdoor seating (maybe in Spring). Well organised and spaced out to feel safe

Been here a few times before today and thought it a bit rubbish but decided to give it another go. arrived as it was very busy only one table free, covered in plates etc. many staff bobbing about but no one cleaning up, other tables litter as well. just after we ordered people started leaving, someone started cleaning empty tables, but ours was ignored, i had also asked at the counter that it be cleared! just before our food came we managed to collar a girl and she took plates away. menu had said caramelised onion in the sandwich my friend ordered but they were raw! food generally of poor quality but very expensive and unexciting. we didnt complain as the staff were completely uninterested and everything was too much bother, when we ordered deserts the woman was very abrupt and impatient. felt more like naughty school girls that paying adults. a very unpleasant time had by all and will never go back again, cannot see where the good reviews are coming from. feel like i have been robbed

We have been visiting Windlebridge for years but always found the cafe to be depressing and dated. Since new owners have taken over it, it has been revamped and you can tell that a lot of money has been spent. The cafe has been transformed with new tables, chairs and flooring, the menu has improved and the prices have remained reasonable. The shop has also had a facelift and nice new flooring to replace the tatty carpet which was down. At the moment they have a lovely christmas display and the plant section has greatly improved with all the flowers etc being lovely and healthy. We visited yesterday for coffee and bacon sandwiches and the first thing we noticed was the car park has been laid with lovely new tarmac. The bacon was cooked to perfection and the bread was fresh and delicious. Each time we go there are improvements and you are greeted when you go through the door which is a nice touch. Lovely staff - well worth a visit.

This is within walking distance, have been a few times, nice little nursery with a cafe but not a very large selection of plants and restaurant can get busy.

Arranged to meet a friend for breakfast then on reading the menu relised they dont do an english breakfast so asked for one poached egg with beans and a hash brown. When it arrived there were two poached eggs two hash browns and an uncooked salad tomato with toast. The plate was cold which immediately spoilt the food as it should of een seved on a hot plate it was luke warm so I left the majority of the food. I payed £8 which included a cup of tea. Dissapointed definitely wouldn't recommended it as a breakfast destination.

Many, many moons ago I reviewed this establishment. I swore I would never go back, but the tea rooms and garden centre have changed hands. So in a moment of weakness I agreed with my wife to return having heard good things. We came into the tea rooms, up an accessible ramp, good start I thought, the decor has changed and the furniture. A pleasure to be seated by the picture windows on a sunny day.We were greeted on arrival, always a good thing. I went to order, a pot of tea for 2, a cheese savoury sandwich for my wife and a ham and coleslaw for me, both came in good brown bread thick cut (by hand) with a salad garnish and a small pot of coleslaw. The tea was on the table before I got back from ordering, and good tea it was too. The sandwiches arrived very very shortly and were some of the best sandwiches we have had in a while. The coleslaw was homemade and the salad fresh and crisp. So forget what I said before, I am coming again, close to home and very good value for money. The staff were out to please, friendly, quick and very welcoming.

I visited here today with family and a friend and found the tearoom lovely. Nice and clean and friendly staff. The food was delicious but didn't cost the earth. It was very busy and everyone seemed happy. Will definitely visit again. Loved the experience.

My wife and I called in for Sunday lunch. After the refurb the place looks much brighter and welcoming. We both had the traditional Sunday lunch, my wife pork for £7.99 myself a mixture of the three meats for a pound more. The food was plentiful and tasty, although for my taste the broccoli was undercooked but my wife found it just right. We both had cappuccino with extra shots which were excellent. The service was brisk and efficient. All in all a nice lunch.

This was a lovely "tea room" . Now it looks more like a "cafe" The new layout and increase in new bulky furniture make it very difficult for wheelchair users to negotiate unless outer tables are free. No menus on tables mean having to encroach on other customers space to see menu on the wall. All tables are "supposedly"OK for 4 people

We only ate Cream tea and Coffees which were okay but the place itself was incredibly old fashioned... sort of 60's seaside furnishings. I wouldn't have a problem having a snack there but it's miles away from the Cherry Hill sort of Cafe's

Popped in for a drink and food , lovely lady behind the bar makes you feel at ease and has no problem helping you out, but.... very pricey I think for meals that are not on the lunchtime or specials menu saying that food is nice just a wee bit pricey for me thanks tho 👍

Asked for bacon sandwich. Bought as a takeout, was handed over all wrapped up and in a bag. This is what I opened when I got home. Neither looked or smelled like bacon. Green tinged. Went straight into the bin
