Wimpy Bar in Stafford

We stopped by here on a rainy day in cannock chase. The wait for food was very short, and the food itself was nice and hot. Very friendly service also. Would come back when we're next in the area

What a fantastic find! We went for a walk in Cannock Chase and we're freezing, so we called in to the Wimpy. Although we had to wait, it was definitely worth it for the freshly cooked burger and chips. Very friendly staff and I loved the indoor eating area.

As good as it always was. Quarter pounder and cheese brought back memories of the 80's. Fast service, good staff. Excellent food

Burger was really poor, not for off a Mr.Sizzle, except these guys want to charge 10x the amount. The layout of the burger bar is great and polite staff but it doesn't change the quality of the burger. Their thick shakes were good though

My first and last time to wimpy! I’ve never had anything quite like it! The double cheeseburger was bland tasteless and greasy made me sick!

We went to wimpy’s in search off good food and we found it here . We got a chicken burger and a cheese burger (which were both amazing 🤩 ) And then we ordered a marshmallow ice cream which was delicious . This place was just what we were looking for a fast food lunch !

thought it was sus !! when asked for a bender and she said do you want onions on it? what a bloody liberty. the shake was watery and didn’t even taste of vanilla! burger was so thin you could see threw it! i shall not be returning. childhood completely ruined !!

Found this on the Wimpy website and diverted through the village to have a Wimpy International Grill- My favourite.. Only to find that this is a takeaway stand not a real table service Wimpy bar!.. So no international grill for me!.. Luckily there's a lovely pub right next door ....

This restaurant consistently delivers tasty hot food with great service. We used to live 30 miles away and visited as a treat, but now we live abroad and still felt compelled during a recent visit to return for our favourite burger. This restaurant and surrounding area is always clean and well kept, and the additional controls in place to keep staff and customers safe were excellent. It’s easy to see why this little gem continues to thrive. Long may it continue - we shall be back!

Saw this hidden gem on Saturday morning and ordered two burgers, fries and drinks. Came to just over £20. Been years since I'd had Wimpy and always preferred it to McDonalds. Couldn't wait to tuck into my food but even looking at the burger, it was nothing like Wimpy used to be. Took one bite and threw it away. Tasted like a burger out of a tin or something. Greasy and nasty. Never again. Gutted...

I haven’t been to Wimpy in donkeys years but was pleased I went, it’s great. Yes it’s slightly more expensive than McDonald’s but it tastes better, tastes fresher and is supporting a culinary institution. Click and collect worked brilliantly, you could even choose your pick up slot and also customise your burgers. Milkshakes were thick (as they should be!) and you can also order bottles of their special sauce. Last praise goes to the staff - they were superb. Working their socks off, they did it with a smile on their face and were polite and friendly throughout. There was a slight error with my order (not surprised with how busy they were!) but they dealt with it brilliantly and left me really impressed with their customer service. If their boss is reading this they deserve a raise! Overall great experience and I shall visit again when I next go to Cannock chase!

Food is nice enough but it's so expensive for what it basically a fast food place. Definitely better than McDonalds or KFC but double or three times the price.

After a 10 mile walk on Cannock Chase my wife and I were thrilled to find the Wimpy open. After a great burger and a freshly ground coffee we were fully revived. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the set up is very Covid safe.

I've known this place for 40 years and used it for over 30. Good service, good food, great location. At the moment, with covid-19 restrictions it's a good place to go- queueing arrangements are sensible and well laid out, and it's so close to lots of open space and parking at Milford Common, so we were able to meet family without breaking rules.

I visited together with my daughter. Currently we are subject to Covid-19 restrictions but the risk of this was very well managed at the take-away. The queue, although appearing long, dwindled quickly and once ordered, customer are asked to wait in numbered socially distanced bays which have been made very ambient and very clean. A one way in/out system is in operation together with sanitizer and sensible information. The food was lovely, freshly cooked and piping hot. We will definitely be going again. Well done.

Called in on the way to Stafford, had not had a Wimpy burger for a long time. The member of staff who served was friendly and polite. The burger itself was excellent , it had a nice flavour and the bap tasted as a burger bun should taste. I thought it was much nice than other fast food restaurants. I decided to have a portion of the chicken strips as well, the chicken was real chicken breast and they were not greasy but I thought they lacked some herbs/spice/flavouring. There is parking outside or across the road if they are busy. Will return again when I am in the area.

It’s such a shame when poorly trained staff in a fast food outlet are impolite; leaves no discernible merit to the place.

Travelled with family during COVID 19 restrictions the service area was organised and spotlessy clean. The menu was an express menu but plenty of choice. There was a queue but we were served quickly with the food fresh and hot. The staff were friendly will definitely be back as want to sample a walk in the local countryside.

Love the food, very consistent. If there isn’t a parking space, we walk over from the parking on the green. Great veggie options such as the quorn burger and veggie burger. Would be great if they had a dairy alternative for the hot drinks :)

We do a special trip out to get our Wimpy fix at this great little site as it's quite sone distance from us, but worth every mile. Lovely staff; food cooked to order so it is not hanging around and is piping hot. Love LOVE love. No idea why Wimpy aren't on every high street or shopping centre, defo the very best burger of all the burger chains.

You know the feeling, wake up on a Sunday morning with a yearning for a taste from years gone by. Having checked the cupboard for Marathon bars there was only 1 thing for it, a trip down memory lane to our nearest Wimpy.I'd spotted here a few years ago and hadn't realised the history of the place until we visited. Very friendly staff locked away inside a spotlessly clean kiosk. Eat in your car or the clean, tidy and heated 'open' seating area (we chose the latter)Not sure I got the taste of years gone by from my Wimpy Kingsize no cheese but it was a damn fine burger. Only drawback was the price, £10 for a Kingsize meal with a very small portion of chips. Maybe our appetites have grown over the years, I know my hands certainly have because the burger looked tiny by comparison to other chains offering. All in all a pleasant trip out but I'll be seeking a more affordable taste of the past in the future (if you see what I mean)

So i popped in for a quick lunch today after not being for a while. Not so quick after all. First shock was the price. Over 9.00 for burger meal. I nearly said no thanks but I was hungry. Then the food arrived and the burger was not great, the quality of the burger must have changed from my last visit quite drastically. I was also given free onion rings although i imagine this is why the price has sky rocketed. Didnt even want them as they were not crispy and its too much food. Id order onion rings if i wanted them. Sad to say this will be my last visit. Very dissapointed and wished id never had it now. The food quality has gone down while price has gone up.

Just had a single chicken burger meal at whimpy, it was hot, the salad was NOT wilted or a sloppy mess, take notes mcdonalds you may learn something... The filleted chicken was spot on juicy on the inside crispy on the outside. It was NOT dry or slaughtered by salt. The chips were lovely had option of salt and vinegar not just slapped on. The kids LOVED it didnt have to be bribed by a cheap toy. Soft drinks did not taste watered-down. My kids had beef burgers the first thing my daughter said was mom you can really taste the beef and the burger didnt fall apart. Another plus is you dont feel hungry again a short time after either.

Its been years since I last visited the Wimpy bar at Milford. To be honest I could only remember having hotdogs there. So when the family and I were travelling back from Stafford we decided to call in and give it a try. On arrival I was a bit disappointed to see no hot dogs. Especially because I told everyone how good they were. But still the place looked clean and inviting. So thought we would give it a try. So glad we did. They had a good choice of burgers. The service was great, staff friendly and helpful and we must say the burgers were lovely one of the best I've tasted. So if you want a burger give it a try. Will return.

Very disappointed to drive 35 miles to rediscover a classic Wimpy!The outlet is a kiosk, NO seating and JUST burgers, no classic Knickerbocker Glory!Miffed as their website CLEARLY shows the menu for this outlet.A tad pricey, but the disappointment in not getting a unidentified glory was more obvious!C+ at best!

Years and years this site has been open been going for the last 40+ years always had good experiences there would have liked burgers to be less greasy and a proper toasted top bun like old days especially at these new prices.

I visited the Wimpy at Milford today at lunchtime and met the manager June. I explained about a minor issue from a recent visit.She was superb, she listened and apologised and left me feeling that I know the issue will be dealt with.The food was as always superb, definitely the best burgers that money can buy. This eatery seems to have been around for ever. It has outlasted EVERY place there is to eat within at least a twenty mile radius. It produces quick snacks of quality and always has such pleasant staff on hand all the time. If you are one of the very few that have driven passed it,.............you have missed out on the most amazing Wimpy Wonder Hut........turn around.

Staff very friendly and helpful (Michelle & Sophie). Food top notch as always. Highly recommended. You can't beat fresh hot fast food that actually tastes like it should.

Called for a Wimpy after visiting Cannock Chase.There is only space for 4 cars to park outside, not the easiest junction either with a mini roundabout, and entrance to the pub next door.Ordered 2 burger meals, both were cooked fresh to order. There is a small dining area and outdoor seating, but we chose to eat in our car.The milkshake was amazing! So thick that it wouldn’t go up the straw! And a lovely banana taste. The burgers were very tasty and had plenty of fresh salad. Tasted just like they did years ago, if not better! The fries were hot and crispy. Delicious treat!

Travelled to the area to visit friends and got there a couple of hours early. Normally i would have gone into the pub next door but my toddler was sleeping so we went for a quick takeaway.I have to say the burgers were really lovely. big, juicy, tasty just very good (I have since eaten the burgers in the pub and Wimpys are twice as good!). Would eat there again in a heartbeat. In fact it makes me long for a Wimpy like it in my part of the country.

I’m so glad this is still here, I’ve always known Wimpy to be a chain such as the other fast food places but I thought it had gone under, really should go more often to keep it going, (they could be overrun with customers I wouldn’t know!).Food is never bad from here, I tried a lime milkshake the last time I went, that was odd... wouldn’t get another one but I’m happy I tried it, ‘twas an experience!Keep it up guys!

The Wimpy on the Chase is the best burger place locally. You can forget the other chains - the Wimpy is a favourite place for our family to visit.

Visited the restaurant today for the first time after living in the area for many years. I'm glad I did. I had the quorn chicken burger and it was really good. The prices are a little more than alternative fast food outlets but it's easily off-set by the superior quality. The service has good and reassuringly, it takes more than 30 seconds for your food to be ready! I'm going to visit again next time I need a quick bite to eat after a walk or bike ride at Cannock chase. I would recommend. I've only given 4 stars as I'm not sure if there is a toilet.

Used to visit Wimpy in Milford many years ago and so decided to give it another go after not visiting for years , the food is still great as is the service. Strawberry milkshake is lovely, I recommend the quarter pounder with bacon and cheese. It's a little more expensive than Mcdonald's but is worth it. Please give it a try, this place deserves to stay!!

What can you say about the wimpy at Milford ? Excellent ! Superb ! Great ! All are true. It's a small little place but to me and my wife it's really magical. We go 2 or 3 times a year as a special treat . I hope and pray it will be around forever as the food is excellent the staff are excellent and the location is excellent.

I used to come here most weekends. Probably why I needed to join slimming world in the first place... speedy and friendly service, freshly cooked and a brilliant location. What's not to like?

Pop in every few months after spending time on Cannock Chase, always good and tasty, fast service. Wimpy should open the town centre again much better than Macdonalds.

I visit Wimpy regularly, I drive all the way from Walsall to this restaurant. The staff are always very nice and helpful. Everytime I visit the staff always greet me and my friends with a smile. June and the team are very helpful and efficient. There is a very short wait for food, but this is only because everything is cooked fresh, i’d sooner wait 5 minutes for fresh food than instant food thats been sat in an oven for a while. Parking is right infront of the chalet so no long walks and there is always a space whenever I go. All-in-all a great little restaurant, great fresh food, lovely staff and most importantly, the food actually fills you up! Keep up the good work ladies :-)

If you are expecting the same tasty burgers from the 1970's when Milford Common and The Wimpy Chalet were where it was at then don't bother going. Awful burgers sold at a highly inflated cost. Sold by sore faced staff. Really disappointed.

Used to take my girls there over thirty years ago as a treat on Sunday afternoon it was run then by two guys who had it for years and I believe went to live in Spain I didn't think they would be the same as I remember them doing them and they weren't I don't know how they did them but I have been trying to recreate them for years but still don't taste like the ones those two made many years ago but they were nice though from Sheila Eccleston isle of man

Visited with family had 7 meals, 5 adults, 2 children, a long wait which we didn’t mind as it’s cooked fresh. I remember preferring it to mc Donald’s as there was more salad and onion on the baps, it worked out more expensive but there again if we enjoyed the meal it’s regardless, unfortunately didn’t live up to our memories/expectations.nothing special, we all came out and didn’t eat all the food or the couple next to us, personal choice but won’t be returning

Visited today with a friend, and was a little disappointed. I ordered a quarterpounder with cheese and a milkshake. They were slightly expensive for what they were but that would have been alright had the burger been cooked. It was quite busy when we arrived, although this isn't an excuse for a luke warm burger that was red in the middle. The rest of the burger meat wasn't very tasty either, which was disappointing. The milkshake didn't taste of much either. I hope if I visit again that the burger is cooked fully, as the staff were friendly and the kitchen looked clean.

If you rarely visit this place you can justify spending the money for it, the food is nice and the milkshakes are a bonus

I had a quarter pound cheeseburger meal here this week, purely because my Pearson's Canal Companion confidently states that this is the UK's oldest surviving Wimpy Bar (I was passing on the canal on my narrowboat) . I haven't eaten in a Wimpy for over 30 years but I seem to remember that the buns used to be toasted and that they served rectangular cut chips rather than french fries. But the food was cooked to order and was hot and the staff were polite enough. It's quite a quaint place, the till receipt called it "The Wimpy Cabin" and it does have more in common with lay-by snack vans than restaurants. I gave it 4/5.

What's happened to the Wipmy?? Soggy burger buns, tasteless burger no cheese on our quarterpounder with cheese!! Once at home not going all the way back. Haven't visited for a while and won't be going again.

We stopped to have a cheeky Wimpy whilst at Millford. Friendly staff. From what I could see the kitchen looked very clean. The food? Well, it was a standard Wimpy burger and fries. You can't go wrong really can you?

Espero que este lugar nunca cierra! Me encanta Wimpy, que solía tener 3! Ahora sólo disponemos de esta izquierda, las hamburguesas son todavía fresco mientras espera, es más caro que otros lugares de comida rápida, pero la calidad de la comida lo compensa, y para rematar el chase está al otro lado de la calle, así que tienes una vista bonita mientras come.

Un favorito local y lo más destacado de nuestra familia Cannock Chase "Wimpy Walk". Comida cocinado así esperar esperar un poco, pero vale la pena. Que siempre habitual sabe mejor después de una caminata de 10 millas! Algunos aparcamientos directamente afuera y un pequeño refugio si está lloviendo.

Went today with family and had quarter pounder which was great as usual, two other family members had fish burgers and chips, although the chips were great the burgers both came with 3 fish fingers instead of the expected piece of fish and all the fish fingers were soft and soggy. very disappointed as we have used this place for many years without a single complaint.

As far as fast food goes, this places is fab! Been many times, the staff are lovely. The food is tasty and despite minimal parking the places has a nice feel about it.

After visiting here over 30 years ago the food is just the same as when I was younger. Excellent food and value, plenty of food with order. Childrens meals were excellent and value for money. I can't wait to go back for another burger meal.

Expensive but well worth it.Burgers and fries are great although they can get things wrong if you ask for no cheese you get home and you have cheese so always check.

Tenía una hamburguesa en el camino a casa desde una reunión de navidad tenía un ataque de el hambre que necesitaba atención inmediata. La hamburguesa era fresco y tomó un tiempo muy corto para llegar. La hamburguesa es de mucha mejor calidad que los que vienen de McDonald's que se mantienen calientes y por su promesa de conseguir su hamburguesa a usted más rápido que una bala disparada. Me gustaría bastante esperar unos minutos y tienen una hamburguesa sabrosa. Personal agradable y alegre.

This place is fab for fast food. The staff are always really. Friendly, the waiting time is low, you can see the food being made. There is seating areas and a few parking spaces. The special sauce is so yummy!

ordered a half pound burger when i got it didnt have a bottom bun on cant think for the live of me how you could make a burger with half a bun .i think they to busy on there phones and talking.idiots

Ambos entusiasmado sobre el queso que con quarterpounder decidimos tener. Trajo muchos recuerdos felices para mí tan pronto como el sabor de su propia salsa de éxito mi lengua. He estado yendo a este wimpy ya estaba un poco y nunca he sido decepcionado. Yo siempre orden 400 pounder hamburguesa con queso, que se puede decir es de primera calidad de carne. Me encanta cómo amable el personal y cómo la comida es fresco en frente de usted, que para mí es la pena la espera. Siempre eligió este lugar como un lujo y tienen incluso hizo una tradición familiar que visitar en Nochebuena. 5 estrellas para los tímidos para nunca fallar para impresionar!

Después de usar la cabaña wimpy durante muchos años como un niño y ahora me tome mis propios hijos, nada ha cambiado. Siempre recién preparado y delicioso! Las mujeres que trabajan allí son siempre tan preciosa y no puedo hacer más por ti.

i wonder if what i had served today as wimpy, was wimpy. i have eaten wimpy since i was a teenager. this was cheap nasty burger in cheap nasty buns. cheap nasty chips. which took a long time to serve. the parking is crap & service is poor.

I've been going since I was as child. Cooked fresh to order and very good quality. Cost more than Mcdonalds but much better value for money. Limited parking so you may have to walk.

Hemos estado yendo a este Wimpy durante años pero Quedé realmente decepcionado con nuestra comida el jueves. Pedí dos comidas con sólo 400 pounder queso, me explicaron que mi familia no se come, de lo contrario. Las edades esperando nuestro pedido, estaba lleno, fuimos a comer a sólo encontrar que pusieron cebollas en la hamburguesas. Regresamos, les dijo su error, que se disculparon por y me dijeron que iban a solucionar el problema. Su idea de clasificar fue a tirar el follón en la papelera y sacar fuera el queso y la cebolla!! Los vi hacer esto así que comentamos... dijeron que era su "política" para hacer esto! Le pedí para hacerse hamburguesas frescas, después de todo lo que yo había pagado 23 libras para mi comida y yo queríamos lo que pedimos y lo que señaló en su recibo.

Me encantaba Wimpy. Estado deseando recoger una hamburguesa. El lugar estaba limpio y el personal amable no es culpa de la hamburguesa era una basura. Mi amigo tenía la hamburguesa vegetal, incluso ella cuestionó lo que estaba comiendo, tanto el vegetariano y hamburguesas de queso eran como basura de plástico. Sin duda tiene calidad Thd bajado la sartén.

¡Qué un hallazgo inesperado, minúscula en wimpy. Espacio para unos 4 coches pero un aparcamiento mucho más grande en la calle (Cannock Chase)

He estado viniendo aquí durante muchos años y nunca he regresado a dejar un comentario, siempre buena comida no es sabroso aquí barato, pero te de buena calidad, y es agradable si tienes prisa y la sensación de hambre. El parking es un poco de una pesadilla ya que hay sólo unos pocos lugares, y un gran cuidado al realizar copias de seguridad de vuelta a la calle principal, ya que puede estar muy concurrido. Que dice que no impidió de llamar de vez en cuando.

Recently I popped to the Wimpy Chalet at Milford for my "teatime" treat, gotta say the burger and chips which was freshly cooked was absolutely delicious, add to this the lady who served me named Donna, she was extremely pleasant and friendly.I would recommend this little gem everytime to anyone that wants a decent burger served with a smile. Recuerdo que cuando cada calle tenía un bar Wimpy ? Fueron comunes como restaurantes de KFC ... así que aún hay uno aquí. OK, tome más de una distancia de un restaurante, pero la comida es igual, incluyendo el acomodado salchichas.

Un poco de un logro personal. Llegué aquí hoy, en mi moto, sin navegador vía satélite. Es mi cuarta intento, normalmente paran, y volver a casa. Hoy me dieron mi hamburguesa, sábado en el porche bajo el calentador para calentarse. Era precioso. recién hecho y sabroso.

this is the best place for take away burgers for miles freshley cooked wile you wait. the taste is amazing. being going hear for 25 years and never had a bad meal credit to the staff

Yo nunca he visitado un whimpy hasta hoy y después de mi primera visita probablemente no vamos a volver.

Primero Wimpy por un tiempo y tenía grandes expectativas. Por desgracia, no fue tan bueno como lo recordaba, bollo de pan no era estupendo y tampoco lo fue la hamburguesa, parecía un poco seco, que otros pagarían lo que no ha cambiado. Pensamos que sería mi, pero yo no era el único para hacer comentarios, el personal de la otra parte era encantador y nos sentamos comer en común que es un entorno fabuloso.
