Great food and service Big portions A rice between two and a naan is great

Would have given 0/5 but alas settling for 1/5. Their food is not up to the standards - says tandoori in the name but it isn’t . Also, any curry that you order beware that it is nothing but a ton of SUGAR. I’m pretty sure they sent stale food by the looks of the chapati that got delivered .. and I would have given maybe a benefit of doubt if this place wasn’t literally 5 mins away from where I live. Won’t be ordering again.

Came in and asked for a table for 2 without reservation, no problem, so good so far. Ordered, and the food came out quickly, so very good. The food was excellent, so even better. Asked for the bill and it came straight away, so now excellent. If you're like me and don't want to spend hours in a restaurant waiting around, but still want good food, this is your place for a curry !

I’ve got a takeaway from here a couple of times: I’m a big fan of their curry.

Tandoori chicken inedible. Possibly had been reheated a number of times? The chicken looked dry and very dark. On tasting it, it was rancid and inedible. Restaurant apologised and replaced it. Completely ruined the experience.

Not sure what's happened to this place, hadn't got a take away from it for maybe 6 months but used to be decent. I got 4 dishes - tandoor prawns were passable, lamb dupiaza was tasteless although at least the lamb quality seemed ok, but the butter chicken seemed to have been made with left-over shreds of chicken, and tasted like it had had a can of desiccated coconut chucked in it and not butter whatsoever. The mixed vegetable curry literally wasted disgusting, the vegetables clearly had come out of a can were soggy and there was no curry flavour in it at all. I called up to complain and they sent round replacements for the vegetables and butter chicken so fair play to the restaurant for that, unfortunately these were equally disgusting so we just went hungry

Very nice food and very welcoming

Gave the place a fair three star, like a hotel that does the job. Little bit pricey, solid chance some things are microwaved in a tub and some things are fresh, but tasty and edible none the less. A place I would go after a few beers with the lads rather than a place I would take the in-laws. Not a place I would go again as a on my own take away diner. 31 sobs is a lot for a take away. Most Indian restaurants I have been to or ordered from have a “just you” menu. Saying all this. Done me justice for tonight and I wish them well. I won’t pop back.

I wish I could him zero star. The Indian owner is very rude to people. Does not have manners to talk and threatens people. Food is average. Long waiting time and environment is hostile.

I ate here with colleagues while on business in the area and enjoyed the experience. The service was friendly, the food was good and the bottled beer nicely chilled. Ticked all the boxes for us. The decor looked a little tired and table space is somewhat limited but overall a decent place to eat.

Had a birthday dinner out on a Monday here. Nicely laid out seating with no cramped feel to it. Waiters were attentive and we enjoyed Sag aloo and Chicken ticca madras , well cooked with creamy sauce. Nice portion sizes but nearly too much for me ! House wines were suitable ( but Champagne on offer ) but Indian beers available too. Think there is an upstairs for private or large parties. Pricing was good for what you get in The Village Well recommended for a quiet Indian / Bangladeshi dinner or a party booking .

Put on delivery sites pictures of the food offered and write what it contains. Not everyone knows Indian names and I would like to order vegetarian menu but I don't know what. Thank you

The food was average. I had a Tandoori chicken masala and pilau rice which was perfectly edible. My friend had a Murgh Mohanwala. It is a mild dish , which it was but it was so sweet from the mango and too mild. We certainly wouldn’t have it again. I couldn’t eat all mine so asked to take it home. When the bill came they charged us 55p per take away container which I have never had before. I understand there is a cost involved but would have appreciated being told or even asked if I’d like it all in the same container. On another note the coffee was awful. When we told them , they just said sorry and still charged us for it. Service was ok. We asked for the menu to look at desserts but it never came. Price- we had one side dish, 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 rice, a portion of chapatis and a couple of popadums and 2 bottles of beer. The bill came to £67 without service. Would I go again- probably not. And if I were persuaded I would take my own doggy bag!

Really good food. The mushroom rice, lamb bhuna, tarka daal, onion bhaji and vegetable curry are all nice! I usually order via Just Eat but it’s cheaper to order direct (probably better for restaurants as well). I’m not usually a fan of Indian takeaways but I’d really recommend here!

Definitely not for the Indian palette... Food hugely modified for the local taste preferences... However service is efficient!

I do wish I had read some of the reviews already provided here for this restaurant. This is without a doubt the worst Indian takeaway I have ever experienced. Everything was tepid and some of it, even cold. The onion bhajis were soaked in grease and the shish kebabs had a funny smell, rendering them unappetising so we didn’t even try them. The rest of the food ordered was greasy, tasteless and largely inedible, so barely ate any if it, throwing most of it away. A dreadful waste of food, money and time. Will never order from here again and would urge people to stay away.

We order a delivery and this is what have got- This is their lamb chops! They are burned to crisp. Awful smell and didnt bother to apologize

Lovely little Indian restaurant, had the keema rice and a Madras, loved it, definitely recommend and will be back there soon.

The food was awful and I fell extremely sick the following morning. Sorry for too much information but I must warn others after eating his food I had projectile vomited as well as weird green liquid diahorrea and had to go to A&E with my husband. This was the worst food I have ever had I do.not recommend this place at all and the kitchen needs to be throughly investigated.

I would love to give this place 5 stars as the overall food quality is very good, and the service when eating in is also very good. Unfortunately, they lose a star for the naan’s. The peshwari naan is completely flavourless and dry. It doesn’t taste of coconut, sultanas or almonds and is normally what I look forward to the most so is always a disappointment. Most other curry houses will include complimentary popadoms too with takeaways, but this place doesn’t!

Had early evening dinner here with some friends. Decent service and a nice setting. Reasonably busy for a Saturday evening too. The problem is the food. It was simply bland, bordering on poor. We had a mix of veggie and chicken dishes most of which looked as though they has been pre-prepared and then warmed up. My chicken madras tasted more sweet and sour than curry. Overall really disappointing food. If you want a decent curry I would look for other options in and around Wimbledon.

Tandoori have recently changed their menu to offer more curry options, great for a night out in charming and convivial atmosphere

Ordered online through Deliveroo. Received curry with multiple strands of long hair in food. Terrible.

Chicken in the curry was very overcooked, incredibly dry and chewy. It had clearly been cooked earlier and reheated. The curry itself had next to no flavour. Naan, rice and onion bhaji were average but also bland. Price was expensive for a curry house. Once finished waited an age to get attention to pay the bill, which was odd as only one other table of people in the place. Much better options around at a better price. Won't be returning.

Nice enough restaurant but the inflated prices bcoz it's in Wimbledon Village don't make the food any better. Very disappointed as curry houses in other, cheaper areas, are as good if not better. Won't rush back.

Great naan, tasty curries and friendly service. The venue caters for large parties which is always a win. My go to is the the lamb tikka which is very tender and well spiced.

Don't normally leave reviews but this was the worst meal I have ever had. Really bad food, will not ever order from them again.

Ordered online through Deliveroo, mixed platter starter for 2, food is nothing like the pictures on the website, the chicken and lamb seemed old, dry and tough. The yogurt with bits of cucumber was bland. Ridiculous prices for poor quality food. Don't be deceived thinking high priced restaurants have the best food because you will be disappointed. I should have learned by now the restaurants in London are mediocre and they don't seem to care either because customers put up with it as they have no other choice.

Returned to restaurant for first time since lockdown 2 and can only say the service and food is still the best curry house I have been to . The drink/wine list is the best and offers excellent choice and value . There is no other curry house I know that has Whispering angel on its menu and at a price that beats off all the local competition. However the food is so good and tasty. I cannot recommend it highly enough . The owner is well known having owned and ran the highly acclaimed Ahmed for years in the town centre. If you fancy a curry I recommend this restaurant as the best .

Very disappointing, eagerly awaited our takeaway via UberEats, but were quickly disabused of the notion that this would be good. It was tasteless, the chicken tikka was tough, the channa was undercooked, the paneer was overcooked and dry, the mushroom bhaji was ok-ish, the onion bhaji's were chewy rather than crisp, the naan was probably the best thing. Everything was tasteless - where were the spices, where was the curry???? Sometimes its good to try something else, sometimes not; this time it was a mistake, not to be repeated.

The best Indian in Wimbledon by far! The food is amazingly clean, tasty, authentic and served with a BIG smile. It’s just off the beaten track on The Ridgway and good at the restaurant or take out. Great work and hopefully a little cheeky mixed grill is on it’s way to me!

First curry in a restaurant since December 2020 & we were not disappointed. Friendly welcome as always & efficient service but not rushed. The food was delicious too. Covid protocols all in order. Thankyou

Consistently this restaurant excels! We are running short on authentic Indian restaurants and I very much hope they stay around for a long time. Extinction is my greatest fear! Wim Tan.....is for the gods...pure heaven, or nirvana on a plate. The texture, spice and flavour are deeply rooted and transport you to another place. This is true curry! The proprietors, although coming across unflappable are fastidious in their dedication to deliver un-compromised fare. In a world of commoditised food economics it is humbling to see the owners go to great lengths to source quality old school Indian chefs, at home and abroad. This is a restaurant for the discerning curry enthusiast.

Gave it ago on deliveroo after reading mixed reviews. It was very bland and disappointing which is a shame. The sag paneer was also very sweet tasting almost dessert like so wouldn’t recommend

Had a takeaway tonight as can’t go to my regular uptown with lockdown restrictions and it was very disappointing and bland. Shame because there seems to be no authentic Indian restaurants within Wimbledon whatsoever.

We revisited Wimbledon Tandoori and had the most delicious takeaway. Fantastic flavours and with generous chicken portions in every dish. The sides were wonderful too.

We have just had the best Indian meal in years. The King prawn tikka was out of this world with lovely fat tasty prawns. it was so good I nearly took a photo and wish I had now to post on here. Thoroughly recommend to cheer up lockdown! Thank you! Miranda

A family favourite for the 30 odd years since it opened, the Wimbledon Tandoori always has fantastic food and great value. Peshwari nan is always the highlight. Thanks for so many great meals over the years.

A good standard Indian restaurant, but nothing special considering the location in the vibrant neighbourhood of Wimbledon. The service is decent, food ok and ambience again ok.

They don't have any respect for drivers who takes the food for customers they wrote outside that deliveroo driver stay outside doesn't matter it's cold or rain and after when driver complaint about their unprofessional behaviour they answer so rudely and disrespect them being a deliveroo rider I will never pick them order ever again. They took too long as well.

I visit a lot of Indian restaurants and this place offers fantastic curry and service - couldn’t recommend more highly.

Ordered and collected when they were very busy - food was on time and was one of the best curries I have had in a long time! Staff were friendly and polite as well.

Beautiful food (especially the specials) and fantastic stuff. Kept us sane through much of 2020 and so lovely to be able to continue enjoying their cooking!

Awesome Indian food which was very tasty, delivered hot, authentic with rich flavours and I would definitely recommend. A number of vege dishes which were original. A must return when it opens for the dining experience.

We ordered the Korma Chicken and the Lamb curry. The Korma Chicken was boiled tasteless chicken in a flavourless sauce of lumpy desiccated coconut. The Lamb curry had zero spice. Needed salt and pepper because there was NO flavour and no chilli heat. We had to bin the Korma Chicken because it was inedible. Definitely the first and last time we order from Wimbledon Tandoori. You are better off buying a curry sauce from the grocery store and throwing in some meat.

Shocking takeaway service&lying staff. My husband ordered a takeaway for two (2veggie curries, 1 rice, 1 paratha) on a Friday after the lockdown at 7pm. We live only a mile away. The JustEat app said the delivery was 8:40. At 9pm we rang the restaurant wondering why it hadn’t arrived yet and the LYING STAFF told us that the delivery guy had just left with our order and it would be there in ten minutes. We waited and waited. THE ORDER ARRIVED AT 10:10PM! The staff are ABSOLUTE LIARS because if the delivery guy had left on his motorbike at 9pm with our order THERE WAS NO WAY IT WOULD TAKE HIM OVER AN HOUR TO DRIVE A SINGLE MILE ON HIS BIKE TO GET TO OUR HOUSE AT THE TIME OF THE LOCKDOWN WHEN THERE IS HARDLY ANY TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD ON WEEKEND EVENINGS. We were absolutely famished by the time the food arrived at 10:10PM. The food was awfully BLAND and tasted disgusting - like HOSPITAL FOOD and absolutely NOTHING like the Indian meals we’ve had at restaurants in India (yes, we visit India a lot). When we tried to claim money back from JustEat for the lies and the utterly delayed delivery, the restaurant REFUSED to budge and give us any discount out of courtesy!!! We visit the high street and walk past this restaurant a lot but after this DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE FROM THE LYING STAFF, even when the lockdown is eased we. WON’T be visiting this establishment! Also will advise friends and family to avoid this shoddy establishment AT ALL COSTS.

Ordered at 7:50pm, arrived 10:05pm. No explanation/apology when calling up to ask where food is. Food arrived luke warm, ice cold samosas, and for some reason the popadums were smashed to pieces. Never again

Have previously enjoyed nice meals in the restaurant, however their behaviour for a takeaway was incredibly unprofessional. I accept all restaurants are under pressure currently but found this inexcusable. Ordered a meal for large family using the JustEat app. After the confirming the order, we received a phonecall from the restaurant's owner informing us that they had no lamb in stock except for "Lamb Tikka pieces" and whether we were happy to accept this instead or whether we wanted to cancel the order. We said would rather cancel the order as our kids weren't going to enjoy the lamb tikka. The owner told us we would have to cancel the order using the App but to call back if there were any problems. When trying to cancel the order on JustEat, the app automated it would charge us half the order price (£35). When calling the restaurant back, the person there said they didn't know how to use Just Eat and gave us their boss's number. On calling their boss back, they repeatedly hung up. On calling Just Eat, they eventually got the restaurant to cancel the order and refund us half the charge. I have no problem that they had no ingredients, but by refusing to then answer the phone, the owner left us with a £35 charge after we cancelled the order using the app and wasted 45min of my time on the phone to JustEat (who were themselves incredibly unhelpful). I was disappointed by this.

We tried 5 curry houses in the Wimbledon area for our Friday night takeaway and this was by far, the best. The food is excellent … being full of favour; incredibly tasty and the portions are generous. We have found the service to be great! The meal is always ready on time and just what we ordered… sometimes there’s even a little extra treat thrown in! Whether delivered to the house or collected from the shop, the staff always greet us with real warmth and care. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Changed since I last visited.wont see me again.

Absolutely terrible. Took order at 7:18 and didn’t ever arrive. Despite ringing them twice and phoning just eat they lied and said it was on the way. It didn’t even show up. Don’t trust this Indian they are liars.

I’m not one to usually leave feedback but this was so disappointing I must! I ordered a takeaway. The food arrived stone cold, I had to re heat everything in my oven and even grill the nan bread! The Bombay potatoes were utterly awful, whatever sauce they cook them in is vile, nothing like what bombay potatoes are supposed to be. The chicken tikka was very dry, the cucumber in the salad was like sandpaper and the Bhuna curry was very bland. I’m very upset and feel like I have wasted a lot of money on what could of been a lovely meal.

I’m obsessed with Indian food. And can confidently say that this place is 5 stars Indian restaurant! My boyfriend and I often go there. In fact , every week :-) Love the atmosphere, friendly staff and Ofcos the most delicious dishes ! See you Thank you !

Wimbledon’s best offering of an Indian. Excellent service, good food, and reasonably priced. Avoid the ones on Hartfield Road which are quite the opposite.

First went to the Wimbledon Tandoori in the late 1980s, but have lived away from Wimbledon for several decades, so this visit was a one-off return visitService was very friendly & food as good as any Indian I have eaten anywhereMost telling, for a Wednesday night, the restaurant was full, with a relaxed & happy buzz.It’s wonderful to see that my favourite Indian restaurant 30 years ago is still as good it was. If you have this as a local, or are looking for good value friendly Indian restaurant, it is still well worth visiting.

The blandest curry I've ever had. When we said something they apologised took the dishes away and loaded them with pepper, rendering the food inedible. They did take them off the bill. Shame, won't be going back.

Restaurante Indiano bem fora do circuitão turístico, sendo frequentado mais por locais. Pequeno e ambiente simples. Bom atendimento . O melhor é que serve uma comida indiana autêntica e honesta que pode ser degustada com a cerveja Cobra. preços muito bons ( ate por ser fora do agito turístico). Recomendo como experiência gastronômica autêntica.

Este solía ser el único lugar donde iríamos a comer un curry, ya sea para cenar o para llevar. Ya no. Nuestra última entrega fue casi incomible. La carne era dura y no tenía mucho sabor y el curry no era tan bueno como estábamos acostumbrados. Escuché que el lugar ha cambiado de manos, mientras que nunca desearía una mala fortuna a nadie, diría que los nuevos propietarios necesitan ver cualquier cambio que hayan hecho y quizás volver a cambiarlos. Hice un correo electrónico al restaurante, pero no tenía respuesta.

Disfrutamos mucho encontrar esta pequeña joya de restaurante. Queríamos probar algunos estilos diferentes de cocina durante nuestro viaje y esto no fue una decepción. Ordered takeaway because did not want cold home delivery. But most of the food was barely warm. My expensive tandoori prawns were stone cold. The roti and naan was also cold. Also thought the food did not have the spice as described and was mostly very sweet. Should say staff were very nice though.

Decidimos entrar para ver cómo estaban los nuevos dueños. Los chutneys llegaron luciendo bien usados y pedimos nuevos. Las placas estaban pegajosas debajo de los chutneys, deberíamos haber recibido el mensaje, la Korma no era agradable y el fantasma del cordero se veía igual y sabía que no tenía tomate. La carne era buena en el romol pero la salsa no lo era. Podríamos comer nuestra comida. En positivo el pan de nan era bueno

Vivimos a 5 minutos de este restaurante y las últimas dos veces que ordenamos que se entreguen, sus conductores tardaron una hora en encontrar nuestro hogar. ¡Uber, Deliveroo y mi familia del otro lado del mundo pueden encontrarnos! ! ! Entrega inútil. No vale la pena esperar. Posiblemente una "cocina oscura" haciendo su comida y entregas. Evitar.
