Sunday lunch on zfathets day was terrible. Chicken not cooked , mash cold and gravy cold. Terrible. All we got was sorry .

First time visit today, with a family of 12 for a special occasion. Fantastic restaurant, amazing food and outstanding service, with friendly attentive staff, we will definately return.

Awesome pub food, good service and great atmosphere. decore is upto date and has a desent sized car park and garden area with lots of seating to enjoy the sun and to relax in and they have a small covered seating area with heaters. Dogs are welcome in the gardens and bar area, not the eatting side though. Very happy to keep going back to this one :) they have small womens &mens toilets and a dissabled toilet to the back, with a ramp at the front doors. An outside covered bit for smokers. The price depends on if you have food and drinks, or just drinks. The staff are grate and quick to serve and sort any issues out. It can get very busy in summer or events that are happening in the area, but dont let that put you off going in.

Good choice of food, staff very efficient and polite, will return.

Where do I start!!!!! We were recommended coming here by friends on our way to East Midlands Airport about 3 weeks ago (I’d do a detour to avoid coming back) From the outside it looks a great pub nice big beer garden, wasn’t overly busy so we went in had to wait at the bar for about 10 minutes before staff who were too busy chatting to each other at the other end of the bar to notice us so we walked into the restaurant again it wasn’t overly busy 3 tables at the most. A staff member came over and I asked did I need to book and was told no but not by her but a young blonde girl who was sat eating an ice lolly!!! She turned out to be staff but was dressed more like she was going to the gym in cycling shorts and a vest top (very professional) We sat down was asked did we want drinks which were served promptly, taking our food order however took far longer maybe if staff spent less time chatting, people would leave happier!! Our food came out served by Miss Gym who was chatting on her phone so had it under her chin on her shoulder WOW JUST WOW RUDE DOESN’T COME INTO IT, our food was just plonked down. The food was really really good piping hot, excellent portion sizes and extremely tasty so a big high five to whoever the chef is, because that person actually makes the visit worthwhile. The rest of the staff seem bored and disinterested in customers and certainly act as though they don’t want to be there, if that’s the case maybe find a job you actually like and that makes you smile more at customers.

Started using this pub and found the staff great and the food very good and also well priced, would recommend.

My first visit for many years and really enjoyed it

Visited with family on a weekday early evening and was pleased to see how busy it was. Service was efficient and friendly and food was lovely. I had a salad and it was tasty, fresh and substantial. Lots of choice on menu and very reasonably priced. Reasonable range of choice for vegetarians (enough choice for me!). Will definitely go again.

Staff are amazing....... unfortunately that's where the best part of this review ends .... so ur was my mother In laws 73rd birthday and my father in laws 55th birthday so as I don't live here we were recommended this place unfortunately the people had only ever been during the week ... so starters on a Sunday... Breaded mushrooms.... wow you could of put holes in the floor if you'd dropped them ...... !!! Wow Chicken goujons .... same literally over fried no taste .... Prawn cocktail .... safe bet .cant mess up defrosting and pouring sauce so that was OK.... Mains .... 3 x roast beef..... sliced beef amazing... unfortunately thats where it ends .... Watery mash ( could swear it was smash they said not so must of been VERY watery ) veg was ok .. Cauliflower cheese 😳 just packet sauce poured over awful... yorkie burnt ... ..... 1 x roast.chicken... erm (packed into handbag for dog ) Desserts were great 👍 Now when staff asked if food was OK they looked embarrassed and kind of were well yeah ok as if they knew .... I have to say Amber was amazing apologetic helpful ... Anyway when the bill came I argued the fact I'd already told them I was going to complain... Well after a discussion they removed the god awful starters off the bill .... And was advised that it was a trainee chef 👨‍🍳 erm ok anyway so maybe if your looking for bog standard deep fried rubbish.... ok but if your actually looking for a decent Sunday lunch with home made food.... try somewhere else ..... Apart from the staff....

We were driving by and decided to stop for a lunch and were not disappointed at all. Pleasant staff, delicious food and great atmosphere. Food quality is outstanding. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend. Free car park and beer garden and premises are very clean and tidy. Good job team 👌🏻

One of the best pubs in the area. The food is always good, regardless of which chef is cooking. The vegetables are always done to perfection. The bar/waiting staff actually know what they're doing and provide a polite and friendly service - a very high standard of customer service. The drinks are served in the relevant glasses, the plates are warmed before serving and the prices are right for the drinks and food.

Visited today Friday 1st March 2024 with wife and eldest daughter. parked ok. was busy but table was available. Great menu with lots of variety and decent price. I had steak and stilton pie which was really nice,. Food was hot. Great customer service. We live local and dont cone here enough

Been meaning to leave a review here for ages, had 4 or 5 decent meals here over the months, always hot, always tasty and the staff are always friendly and polite (especially the girl with the tattoos, glasses and dark hair….. sorry, we’ve never asked you your name)! Love going there very friendly and always have a joke with the bar lady don't know her name but I think she his running the shift. It's good for the money for food and drinks for the family.

nice enough staff and pleasant pub itself.however very limited menu options for vegetarians and even less for vegans. If you enjoy eating meat then it's probably good. Just found the vegetarian options very limited.

First time here for something to eat (9 of us). We had the Christmas festive meal. Really enjoyed it. Lovely staff. We will all come again. Highly recommend.

Nice pub with good atmosphere, food available. Plenty of sitting space indoor, outdoor, high chairs and for family or big group.

We had a great time catching up with lots of family members. Although we were attending a funeral party had a good time. The food was amazing too.

Went there with family, eight in all. Good choice on the menu. Most of us had something different and we all enjoyed it. We did have a vegetarian and a vegan with us

Had a delicious meal here on a Saturday night, called ahead last minute and they saved a table for us, the service was really friendly and efficient. The food was amazing, especially for the price point. Also had a TV in the dining room, great for having dinner with the sport on! Would recommend.

Years ago the Tavern was our haunt played darts, dominoes there, but it's really changed, VERY nice food was great and hot, staff was lovely and smiling ,💯💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏👍👍

Really nice place. Not too busy, but I'd recommend booking to be safe. Food was top notch, the lamb just fell off the bone. And the crumble & custard was beaut too.

I do like the food here. I feel they could change the menu as although it has a lot of variety, it needs changing, it's tired I do like to see the specials as it offers something different My only criticism is the salads, the ingredients are chopped so small the only utensil you can use is a spoon as a fork is to big....I want to be able to taste the salad, serve it so it can be eaten like a grown up

Visited here a couple of times during the week. Mainly because it serves Beaver Towns Neck Oil !!! Which is a perfect pint in their stunning beer garden !!!

Truly excellent food and dog friendly in the bar area. Great find on a recent trip to Nottingham. The garlic mushrooms were a tremendous starter, very good portion and half the price of a similar dish in my native Cornwall. One of the party had the Thai curry which she described as excellent, another declared his ham, egg and chips as good as he's ever had in his 90 years. Two opted for lasagne which they both said was the tastiest they had ever had, including in Italy and their own! I opted for the beef bourgingon which was better than amazing and a very good portion, the meat was so tender and tasty. Good friendly service and prices 20-30% lower than Cornwall - my only regret is that it isn't closer! Highly recommended

Had a family get together the other evening and I must say we where all left quite disappointed, we experienced Average bland tasting food since the old chef left during the lockdown eat out to help out scheme, the service is good with helpful staff, but the ambiance is awful, full of local track suit wearing Nike air max man bag sporting yobs, football channel on every TV in the building even tho no games where actually on, crammed in like sardines to the point another group of ladies having a get together had to move away from the family tables when the old boys that just sit there looking at everyone eventually moved, this was due to lack of space and all where practicality sat on top of each other, we where put on stools so high that you are physically leaning down onto the table to eat the food causing discomfort for all, This was a pre booked event and it seems that they where struggling for unknown reasons, if you can’t accommodate by giving proper dining chairs and tables, simply state you are fully booked rather than doing half a job that lead to a unpleasant experience for all family members involved. As the knock on effect is they’ve now lost future customers, also the car park is dark and the lines aren’t clear meaning cars are parked incorrectly causing issues for others, outside seating is plentiful with a nice garden and heaters if needed.

Nice decor with good selection of beers, was there for a talk on trout angling organized by angling clubs . A nice venue

Such a lovely pub! Service was top notch - friendly yet professional. Food was tasty and well presented! The semi-separate dining area gave diners a bit more privacy. This pub had a cosy yet modern feel, easy to relax. Would recommend!

Although I've not eaten here I've been in for a drink a few times now. Nice decor and atmosphere in the bar with good quality beer and nice staff.

Had a very plain beef curry. Bruschetta was hopeless. Pizza was OK. Place had no chips so just served kids food without. Charged full price.

It was aight, the burger was the edible version of a car tire and some of the dishes were dirty but overall it was aight. Oh and most importantly THEY MISSED OUT GOD DAMN WAFFER!!

I have eaten twice now at the tavern, and the food gets better and better. Seven of us has booked in for the 3 course festival menu, and it looks amazing!

Popped in yesterday around dinnertime, first visit in a couple of years and it's changed for the better . It's a nice looking pub,friendly bar staff, decent price on the drinks sports on the tv, food looks decent too.

Nice place for hangout and I assume the only 1 near Long Eaton station. I didn't gave 5 star as vegetarian options are in menu but not all are available all time. I tried to choose 3 different items but all were not available finally managed with sandwiches and salads. Rest all is good.

Great service price very reasonable, food ok for what you pay for young girl was serving at the bar plus waiting on the tables due to staff shortages she did a grand job.

Not been for a while. Now it has been updated 6avery nice and well looked after with a large seating area out side.

They were very kind to let us hold a meeting in there. It was arranged beforehand. Unfortunately 10 minutes into our meeting the volume of the TV was set to a level that made it hard to hear. All for a football match no one was watching.

The guy I dealt with, was supposed to be taking over, but unfortunately hed not now, which is a shame. He had great plans for updating the pub and serving food. It's within walking distance of a lot of housing estates. He organised a buffet for us which was amazing and we all had a great day. Sorry we can't experience more of this. M

Waited 1 hour and 40mins for Sunday lunch the girl didn't put our order through we had booked and ordered to make sure! The waitress who was a drip didn't even apologise for her mistake, but left it to the lunch manager to do it. Organised Chaos!
