A lovely cafe, the perfect place for a pre Christmas catch up with my Aunts. Coffee was great and the scones the best I’ve had in a long while, so light and tasty. Staff were lovely too!

Took our 3 grandsons in here today after visiting the farm. Was very busy but we didn't mind waiting as food was freshly cooked. Me and my husband had a mini breakfast each..2 youngest had childs breakfast and older one had chicken wraps with chips and salad. With the drinks came to £40 which we thought was very reasonable. Children all had ice cream or dessert with was £12

Visited today Thursday 7th March 2024 with wife and grandson aged 18months. Like the way the cafe has a childrens side laid out with tables , chairs and high chairs. Great menu and reasonable prices. We did have to wait a while for our drinks etc but there is a warning that service may be slow but we were ok with that. Only comment is that the Lattes weren't very strong. Will certainly go again

A fairly priced coffee shop with good staff and a nice atmosphere. The menu is wide and varied, and the portions are very good, with great quality food. No hint of pretentiousness unlike several other cafe type places in Erewash. A real treat to be able to stroll around and see/feed the animals on the farm afterwards. Lovely place.

Visited yesterday with my family. I have coeliac disease so have to be very careful regarding ingredients and cross contamination in the kitchen space when eating out. The staff were very knowledgeable and could discuss all risks with excellent knowledge, due to having a family member with the same illness. There is an extensive gluten free menu, including desserts, and I was spoilt for choice. I had delicious chips, GF sausage and egg, with a cob. As we visited with a four year old, it's also worth mentioning that the staff are extremely safety conscious with a separate indoor space for families, where well behaved dogs are also welcome. The cafe is very clean, and there is ample changing space in the toilets (changing table is in the ladies loo).

We visited here after taking a look around Lanes Open Farm. For drinks we decided to go for a hot chocolate & a Mocha, which were served with digestive biscuits, which is a first for me, as most places tend to supply the lotus biscuits. For food we went for a sage & onion sausage roll, warmed up of course, in which our daughter loved! We also had a banoffee waffle, & a Poppys Unicorn Sundae. Both desserts we were perfect, & better than expected.

It was quite busy when we arrived and there were a lot of tables that had not been cleared. The food was good but a bit pricey. Service was not too slow. We went back for an ice cream after wet had seen the animals, so grandchildren enjoyed it.

Visited with family to feed the animals and decided to visit coffee shop for lunch. Not extortionately priced but I would say I was still a little disappointed. The lasagne my daughter ordered was very thin amd dry. I had the beef and vegetable stew which was tasty but overpriced for what it was. Decided to give dessert a go - belgian waffles were ok. I ordered the treacle tart, which when it came had jam in it. No mention of this on the menu/board. Since when has treacle tart had treacle AND jam in it? By the time i'd removed the jam from it there was very little of anything left to eat. Next time we come to the feed the animals on the farm we will definitely not be feeding ourselves as well - sorry James.

This is a great place for a snack and drink (or even a meal) if you've been visiting the adjoining farm to feed the animals. The coffee shop has great food and the kids love the ultimate hot chocolate. They have a room for adults only, a room for families, and outdoor tables if it's sunny. Note that the coffee shop is closed on the first Sunday in the month.

Been visiting this place for years as live local, however popped up to the farm recently to feed the animals with my two children and decided to have a tea and a biscuit in the cafe. 20mins after ordering a simple pot of tea and two cookies for the kids I asked where the order was. Now I totally get people ordered before me and accept that places work on a first come first served basis but I was told there was 3 orders before mine. The people who ordered at the till before me had ordered hot breakfasts but was told the kitchen make one order at a time else it gets complicated. If an establishment can't review orders as they come in an quickly make a pot of tea and get two biscuits out of a tin ahead of making a hot breakfast then in my book it's not worth visiting again. Awful service. No apology. Just told by the girl on the till I'm not going to argue with you. Seems that's the way it is. Appaling. On another note been told previously they are unable to provide tap water to fill my 1 year olds cup up. Had to buy a bottle of water on them. So bit of advice if you are taking kids. Take plenty of water with your your young children so you don't have to pay for a bottle. Table we sat on didn't get cleared eother. Had to do that myself from the previous people who sat there before us!

Food was rather disappointing though, cheap deep fried sausages ruin a breakfast for me. Overpriced for the sort of breakfast I'd probably get done better in a truck stop. Improve the quality of the ingredients and will return. Coffee and tea were good.

We often pop in here after visiting the local farm. The food is always fresh and reasonably priced. It is not a restaurant but a coffee shop serving homemade food. The meals are always fresh and the servings are a good size. All the cakes are homemade and delicious. I like the fact that it has 2 rooms; one for families with younger children and another for older families. We have been coming here since my son was tiny and the family room is perfect. George the pug is a big attraction for my children and they have to see him before we go inside and after we've eaten!

Charming coffee shop with tasty food. It is situated on a small farm where kids can feed the animals. There's also a small gift shop, so plan on spending 2 or 3 hours there if you have kids. The staff are friendly and the service is prompt. The food is great quality and priced very reasonably. There's also a wide choice. The dining area is split into two so there's a room specifically for kids. The barn conversion setting is charming. Overall, great people, tasty food, lovely place and now I've found it, I keep going back!

Average cafe, ridiculous child policy. Nothing particularly wrong with the cafe but children under 10 are required to eat in the "family room". I walked into the main part with a well behaved under 10 and was asked to go into the other room.I could accept this in a restaurant, particularly in the evening, but at lunchtime in a cafe based at a garden centre the policy of grouping 9 year olds togther with babies seems rather Victorian. The family room has a few of those "move rings over the wire" type toys and a children's menu and that's it. Nothing to entice families if they had the choice. The food was fine and in fact the staff were friendly enough, but I'm marking service as poor because it's the category that seems to fit best. If you have kids, I suggest you go somewhere else.
