Wilsden Balti and Tandoori Takeaway in Bradford

Best indian food in bradford area. Fact. But takeaway only, no sit down, no delivery. However they make the bedt curry in all bradford area. I have curry twice a week at least and have tried every place in bradford, bingley, Keighley. Nowhete else come close. The vindaloo is good but i recommend Lamb Jalfrazi, abdolutely delicious as are the onion bhajis. Excellent quisine, but VERY busy saturday, try friday ir other day, closed tuesdays. 10out of 10 for food and service.

If i could give a zero i would, Called on the off chance after wofk and thd dreded shoping, caled in spent 5 mins going through the menu, went to order only to find they didnt except cards, (something odd about that 🤔) the guy said there is a cash machine over the road, SORRY NO SALE.

Amazing food every time! The little green & yellow sauces that they give you complimentary with your food are incredible too😍 highly recommend. You will not be disappointed

I am not one to leave reviews, however after seeing a negative comment it has really upset me. I have been ordering food from Wilsden Balti for over a decade now, my weekly curry treat. They are always friendly and cater to my needs, as I have various food allergies. Never been disappointed, my friend and family also eat from here. I would recommend everyone. I understand not being able to pay by card can be an inconvenience however, it is a common practice in takeaways. Leaving negative comments due to this, I believe is inappropriate and unfair.

I ordered meals at 19:30 and was told ready at 20:30 thought that was a long time but arrived on time. Then I had to wait a further 40 minutes to get my meals. As a diabetic by time I ate my meal I did not really want it. Also only accepting cash whilst we are still in a pandemic is totally unacceptable. Seems odd contactless menu but not payment. The meal was greasy and salty but looked better than it tasted. Everybody waiting complained their meal was at least 30 minutes late.

For about the 3rd time of ordering we have had to wait an extra 30 minutes after what we have been told. So this time it’s been 90 minutes from ordering. It’s cash only and has been during the whole pandemic which is a disgrace. I just can’t think why this would be the case 🤔. Will be contacting HMRC on Monday. The food is up and down too. Sometimes great, sometimes distinctly average. Won’t be ordering again.

I’ve been having takeaways from the Wilsden Balti since it opened in 1998, the staff have always been friendly and the food is always first class. I have now moved away from West Yorkshire but still get them delivered on a regular basis when we have visitors coming from the area. Over 20 years and not one dish I could complain about.

We decided on trying here as it’s not too far from our village . We looked at the menu online and decided on a lamb pathia and the house special . The house special came with 2 chapatis . I ordered a extra chapati and a garlic naan . Now I don’t know where they learnt to add up but 6.95 + 6.95 + 2.75 +0.75 does not add upho OVER £18.00 which is what we were charged . We were told 45 mins . Waited another 20 mins on top of that . Food looked but that’s where it ends . I couldn’t eat mine as it was way too hot even my partner struggled and agreed and he loves hot . . It’s a shame as the flavours probably would have been nice had both dishes not been over powered with chilli and not over charged . I could forgive the wait but been over charged for a meal that I could’nt even eat mine and nearly took the lining of my stomach off after one mouthful . Won’t return .

Got the menu from their internet site Placed my order about 5.45 told it would be ready about 6.30 but as normal ready about 6.40 used to that. I was charged £23 50 thought it should have been about £20 according to their own menu Got the meal home was missing a garlic naan so i rang them and queried the cost was told it had gone up in price .The meal we got was very poor dry chicken little taste in either curry Bombay Aloo whole new potatoes and cold one good point the rice was ok All in All a poor experience they need to update the prices on the menu and make sure all the food is there. Very disappointed

Took 30 minutes for my order to be ready,meaning I had to walk there and back twice to avoid sitting there for a long wait wearing a mask. Besides that all was good. £30 for 3 lamb curries,2 mans and a rice,reasonable value,and slightly above average quality.

Just had a take-away from here- now before I continue I do understand take-aways are busy given we can't go out BUT!!! Called my order through at 6.10 and was given a 7.30 collection time - I was so shocked I had to check the time. OK I thought I might have to wait a long time but if I just walk in and collect then fair enough. Oh no - arrived at my allotted time and there were more than 10 of us who had all been given a time off 7.30. It was a further 20 mins before my order was ready. Just not acceptable!! Then they don't take cards - fortunately I did have enough cash but if I hadn't I would just have left and not bothered. Was going to buy some gift vouchers but that too fell by the wayside. Will not be returning

Having eaten curry for over 48yrs,can honestly say this is the best.Great food great service,well worth the drive.Can you open a shop in Queensbury.

After longing for our favourite 'Wilsden' throughout the pandemic we finally returned tonight to collect our meal which never disappoints. Everything was still piping hot after our 20 minute drive home. The taste and quality is better than any restaurant, we love the chicken tikka massala and the onion bhajis, nowhere else tastes as good! Always welcoming and happy to see returning customers I cannot recommend Wilsden Balti highly enough.

Tried a chicken tikka masala tonight. Totally delicious. I’ve been trying to find a decent curry since moving house and won’t be going anywhere else. Really friendly server and transparent screen to see inside the kitchen. There’s a reason they’ve been going so long. 5* (not great at taking photos)

We have been using Wilsden Balti for years. I used to pass everyday on my way to and from work when we lived in Halifax. We never ordered curries from anywhere else. When we moved to Bingley it became my partner that collected our order on the way home as she travelled to and from Halifax everyday. You won’t be disappointed.

Why? Because although it's on the western outskirts of Bradford and is a takeaway the Wilsden Balti offers a very complete range of dishes cooked to order with fresh, good quality ingredients. You can watch the activity in the kitchen through a porthole window, as the chefs expertly prepare their own specialities. And, handily, there's a Co-op across the road if you need something to wash it down.

Tried the food from this establishment only once and was impressed. It's only a takeaway but the service was knock on and served by very polite staff. The kitchen area has a window that can be observed from the reception area, always a good sign in a place like this. Chicken Balti with all the trimming for a tenner! Can't say fairer than than. Only gripe is that they don't deliver.

The clue to this place is they don't deliver. You have to go collect. They don't need the extra business. Their is a window that looks into the kitchen so they have nothing to hide. While they are a little more expensive than other takeaways you can taste the quality of the ingredients. Some very different curries as well. I particularly like the fish options. Try it and see.

We absolutely love this curry house that much we drive 20 minuets to pick it up. Staff are amazing curry’s always on point

Good take away the food is excelant and you are always served with a smile Major problem is they dont do a delivery service and when you telephone an order in the never seem to start making it until you get there

The vest curry around! Very authentic and will cook to your exact requirement. We have had food from here many tines since our friend recommended, and all I can say is that I wish I knew about it sooner! Staff are very friendly! Keep up the good work!!

Good food,taste and fresh. Had to wait 10.00mins longer than time ordered for. A Delivery service would be an asset to the takeaway. I would recommend this takeaway.

Having lived in the village a number of years ago, I happened to be passing through and decided to try Wilsden Balti (not having ordered anything from there since moving house). Although initially disappointed by the hour's wait time (and the lack of a card machine, meaning I had to go to the nearest cash machine to withdraw cash), I have to say that we were delighted by the quality and taste on offer. On this occasion we decided to go for both a fish starter and main and both were delicious. A nice change from meat, the fish seemed to be of good quality and fresh. The spice contained just the right amount of heat; not too hot for my taste but creating a nice heat and taste in the background. Also, I have ordered curries from many different places and they can often taste too salty. But not here. One of the best ones I have tastes in recent years; I look forward to trying someting different in the near future. Beautiful!

We get the grilled starters and Chicken Bangladesh special - amazing flavour!!! Highly recommendable!! Great service and staff !!

We ordered a nice sampling of dishes from Wilsden Balti and Tandoori while visiting friends in the Haworth and Keighley. We got a huge amount of food for a reasonable price and were able to try something different from what we find in the Chicago area. We thought everything was very good and understand why our friends are regular customers.

Great quality food, always full of flavour and well cooked. Slightly expensive but more than worth it for what you get.

Los dos platos de curry eran excelentes. pedimos El menú tiene una buena variedad de platos. Tuvimos que esperar 10. 00 minutos más de la hora indicada de la colección. Simply one of the best curries I've ever tasted. And there is a window into the kitchen so you can watch while you wait. Good value grub.

He comido curry en Bradford por más de 40 años. El Wilsden Baltimore BWI Airport está muy arriba en la lista. Nunca he tenido una mala comida desde aquí un amistoso personal que le sugerimos diferentes platos.

Vivo en Denholme y vale la pena el viaje en coche hasta wilsden en conseguir la comida. Todo el lugar es de primera categoría. Muy recomendable.

We have lived in many places in the UK, and travelled extensively around the world, and this is up there with some of the best Asian/Indian food we have tasted!

Wilsden balti is the best curry around. We used to come here twice a week when we lived close and 15 years later I still make the trip for a treat sometimes. Its definitely worth it. The onion bhajis are the best I've ever had EVER! I only ever get the Asian style chicken tikka masala as it is to die for. Chappatti's again are the best I've ever had, really big and thin, not stodgy. The orange and green sauces, well they're like an explosion of flavour with the starter, just amazing. Staff treat you like friends if you're a regular. Brilliant place!

Probably visit this takeaway every few weeks when im in the area and never ever disappointed ..Restaurant quality and top restaurant quality every time ..Azad the owner is always there taking your order...recommending dishes..warm friendly and a great host ..I've lived in Bradford 25 years ago and since in Birmingham and Manchester so I know a great curry..you must must must visit this place...Phil

This is a great local takeaway. Food is reliably tasty and good quality. It's usually our first choice for Indian takeaway in an area with plenty of others

WOW - staying at Hewenden Mill in Cullingworth. Fancied an Indian and this place was recommended in the visitors information. Lovely food and plenty of it! 6 of us could have eaten the meal for 4!!! Tasted superb and great service. Excellent curry, flavoursome and authentic. Very nice highly recommend x

I have had quite a few different meals from Wilsden Balti. And not once have I been disappointed. I noticed a review which said they "have weird sauces" and that "i expected the best curry ever as it is in bradford" but to be honest it quite clearly states it is an Indian and not Pakistani food. Which are different.However, I have had several different curries and several starters. The dishes are different, as they sometimes have a few cooked peppers or onions on top. But they really add to the taste and instead of eating around them, you learn to just try it as it is suppose to be.Very happy with Wilsden Balti. Have had the take away many times. Always refer to friends and family

Just....so good! The balance of spices is sublime - cant believe this is just a take away!Happy to drive past the Balti at the end of our road and travel an extra 2 miles for this kind of quality (and great portions too)!

Wilsden Balti house has been our families favourite curry (in our opinion better than any restaurant) for a very long time. We moved to the lake district a few years ago and whenever in the area go back. I had a big birthday recently and when it came to catering they were my first thought - you can't get curries like it in Bradford let alone in Cumbria. To my delight they do outside catering and were really pleased to accommodate our request. We gave our friends a choice of two curries, starters and chapatis and they loved it! Just as delicious as I remember. Already trying to think of another excuse to order again. Thank you!!

Ordered from here recently - and will definitely have again! Great variety of choices on menu - reasonably priced and very good portion sizes. Staff really friendly and attentive, and premises clean and welcoming.

Have been using this Take away for 4yrs now. Have never had a bad meal from them. You can observe the food being cooked through a window into the kitchen,(usually 6 staff doing the work)the kitchen always looks immaculately clean. The staff are always very polite and efficient. The food comes out piping hot and very fresh and tasty. The waiting area is always busy, which is a good sign. The food is the best we've had from any takeaway. Would recommend this Balti to anybody with full confidence that they will be well satisfied. Brilliant!!! Michael and Janice S

We've ordered from here several times since moving to wilsden. We have never eaten take away curry always choosing to eat out ,but this has become a favourite. The food is fantastic, the sauces are beautiful , the salad accompaniments are fresh and everything is well presented. Fab food from a busy takeaway , but be warned the chick pea starter is REALLY hot ! ( but so nice !)Order early , it's very popular x

This takeaway makes the best curries I've ever tasted. I just wished they delivered or had an eat in resturant then I would be having them every weekend !!!! Highly recommend!!!

Was surprised we had never tried Wilsden Balti before. The food was amazing. And waiting times were as minimal as possible. Going to make it one of our regular take outs.

I cannt speak highly enough of Wilsden Balti. The food is fresh, delicious and consistently so. The only downside is they deliver but I would rather order from here than anywhere else and go and collect.

I have been getting currys from here for years now and I haven't had a bad one yet. Great service and friendly staff. Not the cheapest around but in my experience you get what you pay for :-)

I've been visiting wilsden balti for several years and have tried many of their dishes. It's a small takeaway, that can seat about 5 waiting. It's easy to find, on the Main Street in Wilsden, opposite the car showroom, on the left side travelling up the street towards the roundabout. There is a small amount of street parking available.There is plenty of choice, catering for your mild tastes up to much hotter. Everything from Asian style masala, saag gosht, chicken tikka, all the usually and several specials. The specials come in large containers and are a large portion, the standard 'lamb madras' is the usual smaller container. All the usual starters are available.I normally order by phone and it is usually ready within a few minutes of the stated time; it's normally a 20-30 minute wait, although if I call in its not normally this long.For me, the chappatis are the best I've had; they are large, soft and tasty, and 2 are enough. The Asian style masala comes with 2 chappatis but most of the currys don't. I've found that a starter, with a couple of poppodums, then a main with chappatis comes to about £10 (dec 2013). The only downside for me is that you don't get a yoghurt unless you have a starter, and they are green and yellow, not the usual mint yoghurt.The staff are friendly and although some may find it a little pricey it's usually delicious and well worth a try.

We have eaten takeaway from here on a number of occasions. The food is good and if they don't have what you want they will whip it up for you. Naan's are such a let down they are like a supermarket one so I usually play it safe and opt for chapattis. Friendly staff.All starters get a big thumbs up.

Arranged to pick up food , had to wait another 20mins, didn't seem bothered . Food average , wierd colour sauces . Just moved here expected good Bradford curry . I'll get takeaway and delivered free .

We were told about this takeaway by a friend who was raving about it and decided to give it a go being only a couple of villages away. We are so glad we did. Apart from the lovely welcome the food is fantastic, easily as good as any restaurant and reasonable too. We were asked how we heard about the place and were given a couple of bhaji s to try on the house. The curries are all very good I struggle to eat very spicy food but this was fine although theres plenty of choice for the less faint hearted. we shared a lamb tikka korma, chicken pasanda and mixed biryani. The sauces are great too, in fact I could not fault anything. Onion bhaji s are unique and taste good. You can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen. There's a well laid out waiting area with seating and glossy mags to read. The menu is clear and precise. I noticed that they even provide packs of tandoori meat to BBQ at home.
