Great food, great service. They don’t sell alcohol but provide glasses for your own. We will go again because the food was really excellent.

We looked at the reviews on trip advidor and decided to give this restaurant/take away a try. I can only say it must have been an 'off' day. We have eaten thousands of indian take away's over the years and this is the worst food we have ever been served. Late with our order, food in a cardboard box that leaked oil all over my husbands clothes, tasteless food, it was awful. The staff seemed overwhelmed with orders, perhaps they were missing staff? Whatever the reason we wasted £25.

Visited on the spur of the moment, excellent staff and comprehensive menu. Curries were unanimously voted excellent by our party. You do need to pay cash and bring your own booze. There is a Spar market a minutes walk away with a cash point and drinks to be purchased. Opposite Haworth train station. We will visit again.

Been doing reviews of the Raj Mahal since 2012 and had been going regularly before then. We eat here on average, probably over 40 times a year and we really missed it during the lockdowns. In a nutshell, between us we've had about a thousand dishes from the Raj Mahal. Every single one has been superb. Great family, food & value. I'd go as far as to say it is a place that has made life happier than it is anyway.

On holiday in Haworth and we had a Sunday night takeaway. It was delicious and excellent value for money.

This is a firm favourite. We first tried it as takeout during lockdown #1 and have been regular customers since, including eating in once restrictions relaxed. My favourites are lamb and mushroom, lamb hyderabady and the mixed grill. Prices are good, as are portion sizes. Staff have always been good.

We ordered a takeaway for 18 people and we were not disappointed.The staff were very friendly and made the ordering easy.They delivered to our Holiday accommodation on time and again very helpful.The food was delicious. Definitely recommend and will be going again.

We ordered a takeout for mothers day, delivery was a little over the time given when ordered and was offered a discount. The wait was worth it and the food was absolutely delicious as always!!!

A reet treat! Tonight was our second “ delivered” take away treat and it didn’t disappoint. The quality of the food is excellent. We both like a little heat with our curries and the two chilli range of curries is excellent. Haddock pakoras to start, lovely pieces of fish wrapped in spicy four and fried. Onion Bharji ‘s crisp and spicy. Both served with salads, raita and onion raita salad mix. The curries tonight we had: chicken masala and lamb makhani. Portion size definitely large as with starters we easily make the meal last two days. Excellent service, friendly and efficient. Do recommend and will certainly return.

Because of reviews we decided to get take away from Raj Mahal. Food came very fast and hot. As per other reviews portions were very generous, enough pieces of fish and prawns. Enough condiments too with fresh salads and papadams. But unfortunately as Asians we didnt taste any flavour in fish or prawns or in gravy . Kebabs had little seasoning which comes in the seasoning. Korma colour never seen like that and it had sugar I think. Very disappointed of not meeting our expectations. But for ppl not used to authentic Indian food , this must be great. We normally keep Indian leftovers for the following day. As we didnt have anything to eat , we had to eat tasteless food and everyting went to the bin. Also I was shocked to see a delivery man without a mask. I opened the door with my mask on though.

Two cracking currys delivered to the door for less than £15 - bargain!

Ordered takeaway food for the first time from here. It was all delicious, good portions and good prices. Not over-spiced too but still very flavoursome. Their major competitors have some fresh competition for our custom

Lock down has been a roller coaster for sure, Just had first Curry from Ral Mahal since March. The take away was what we expected, out of this world. No one does such fantastic food without cutting corners that I've ever known. If you ask for Fish, you get a fish, ask for prawns you get a net full. Alll cooked to perfection.

Great place, good portions, very friendly service from owner Iqbal. Cash only, and take own alcoholic drinks. Very reasonable prices. Perfect after a long walk in the Bronte countryside.

We decided to pop to Raj Mahal on a whim, after a long day walking in the hills. It was amazing food, we ordered two curries, which both came with rice, and they added free poppadoms. I went in to order and only waited 10 minutes or so. The food was freshly cooked, lovely big portions and sooo tasty. Really satisfying meal, full of flavour and thick, hearty sauces, all for amazingly low price.

The curry was really tasty and they made it with extra sauce for me and the the staff are friendly and polite making you feel welcome.

Visit with 7 friends. Food was as said variable. Mine was superb, exactly what I asked for and as requested different to menu. Others ranged from great to ok. Service was excellent price.. suited environment and decor.

Me and my Husband had an amazing curry here on our honeymoon. Very generous portions and delicious food. Staff were very friendly, especially the founders grandson, unfortunately didn't catch his name but had a lovely chat. Would definitely recommend.

We still roll in every weekend, been doing so for about 10 years hence 11th review. Fantastic food, fantastic family & staff , not had one bad meal and between us we've ate about 1000 curries over the years. Roll on Friday, went away last weekend and I'm rattling a bit.

We checked the opening and closing times thoroughly on the internet and was advertised as closing at 11pm.We ended our night at the Mill hey brewhouse at 10.25 and headed over the road to try the Raj Mahal.Dissapointed to be turned away at 10.30 on a Friday night cos apparently the said they do not serve in the restaurant after 10pm and its only take aways.It does not say this anywhere! As soon as we left they then turned the door card to closed so I honestly think they just could not be bothered serving us.I hate it when restaurants do not stick to advertised times.I could understand if we had walked in at 10.45/11, but we made sure to get there in good time.Had to go over the road to Tandoori instead and they happily seved us.

Says on net closes at 11! Went tonight at 10.25 amd was told that thwy do not serve after 10 and take outs only! On a Friday night! Really? Went over the road to Haworth Tandoori! Wont waste my time again!

Visited here a few years ago with the family and a had great experience so when back in Haworth on a walking weekend with friends I suggested we eat here. Wasn’t disappointed, food was excellent and staff very attentive. Everyone gave it the thumbs up.

Unfortunately for our daughter who's not a massive curry fan, we paid a visit again to the Raj last night (it's becoming a bit of a habit now haha) I tried the madras which I've never had from there and wow, it was absolutely incredible, my husband had his usual vindaloo. Which isn't as hot as everyone thinks, we shared both and even though both were hotter dishes they complimented each other and were just sooooo tasty.

Very convenient if staying at Haworth YHA. Just a walk downhill. It is BYO, I think there is a shop just a little further down the hill supplying drinks. Service a bit slow at first yo take order, but friendly & popadum with raita complimentary. There is only a very limited soft drink menu & T& C. Food excellent! 3 large onion bhaji, large nan, pilau rice & chicken hydrabady. This dish was new to me , very succuulent chicken with yog, tomato, coriander,bay leaf & cardamom juice. Large portions- especially good if you're really hungry. Bright modern style restaurant with busy take- away too. Meal cost just over £13-00. Worth visiting!

Visited mid Pennine Way walk and is probably one of the best curries I’ve had!

Have been a little dissapointed with indian food in the area as it is mostly quite bland. However, the Raj Mahal never fails to impress. Had a large family gathering there recently and the food was excellent backed up by very good, friendly service and reasonable prices. My daughter, who is a vegetarian, stated it was the best meal she had had from an indian restaurant.

Have just got a delivery from here we got 4 currys and 3 starters. The food was excellent freshly made seperate foils with sauce and freshsalad .used to get them from here b4 and always enjoyed how stupid of me that I stopped till now .I have been to 100s of indian takeaways around bradford and this is one of the best.excellent.

The service you get is great. Been eating there or getting a take out from the Raj for over 20 years. The best curry place in Keighley. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

Very reasonably priced and well cooked food. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. Cash only, which wasn't an issue, and bring your own bottle which was a bonus and keeps the cost down. Will definitely return when visiting the area again.

We like a takeaway curry, but have had some very patchy experiences in Haworth/Keighley.

Went here as seen good reviews on Trip Advisor. Decor is tired. Staff rushed off feet doing takeaway orders so had a wait for any service despite there being only 4 people in. Had to find own cutlery and napkins as staff member to busy on phone. Food was OK but the spicy dishes were very mild. Naan bread & dips were good though. Toilets need to be tidied up. Grouting not finished on tiles and a bit scruffy. It is not licenced but there is a Co-op nearby if alcohol is needed. The canned drinks were all branded i.e. proper coke and were very reasonably priced.

After living in the Haworth area for years I have always strayed down to Keighley for curries but tonight was short for time so tried this Indian down the road,the curries were amazing,tasty and everything cooked to perfection,can’t believe it was on my doorstep all this time!

An on spec visit to collect takeaway food was the highlight of our week long stay in the area. Beautifully prepared from superb fresh ingredients the food is amongst the best I have tasted from any restaurant or takeaway.

Didn’t eat and, knowing a bit about how the TA algorithm works, not going to mark it down because that’s not fair. However...

Resteraunt atmosphere could be better maybe a candle or two on the tables, but the food is excellent and really good service.

Visited on Saturday evening as staying in the local area for the weeknd thoroughly enjoyed the best Chicken and Spinach and my dining partner enjoyed his Lamb Karahi. Will definitely visit again

I promise you, I'm not on a retainer, we do eat elsewhere, in fact for the last 3 months we've had to. Been local and down the Edgeware Road sampling some really good food. The Raj Mahal has re opened after a short closure. Went last night and I could have wept, it was busy, the food was incredible as usual and I feel truly blessed to live so near to best Restaurant I've eaten in. Remember to take your own bottle and cash, and enjoy.

The food is first class I am relieved that it is open again there is no better curry

Been going to the Raj Mahal for about 8 years now. Go most weekends. Every meal has been superb. They are going to be closed for a couple of months now and my bottom lip is sticking right out. Hurry up with the refurb my friends, can't wait till July.

I have been eating here since I was a small child with my parents, I now go regularly and take my daughter and we love it. The food is excellent and insanely reasonably priced for the outstanding quality. We take our 1 year old and they are so welcoming towards having her there and bend over backwards to make sure we have what we need for her. Excellent place with excellent people and some of the best food around! I can't recommend it enough. Just bare in mind that it's not licensed but you can take your own drinks and it's cash only, no cards! Go, try it yourself, you won't be disappointed!

A regular Friday evening family meal out. Fantastic, food & service, nothing is too much trouble. Specially made the children's curry "extra mild", they love it. Highly recommended.

We were in Howarth for the weekend and this restaurant was recommended to us. We all agreed it was the best curry we have had. The chicken was so tender and the sauce was amazing. Friendly, attentive staff. Highly recommended.

We have take out for delivery every Sunday. Service is always excellent and never waiting long. The chicken tikka is juicy and not dry and the onion bhajis are mouth watering. The best curry place for delivery around and a treat for when we eat in.

Ordered a takeaway to collect while we were staying nearby on holiday. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. One thing to note is that they don't take cards so you need cash.

We live locally but haven't visited The Raj Mahal for a number of years , following a friends recommendation we decided to give it a try, early doors on a Saturday evening we were the first in however the takeaways were already flying out the door the phone didn't stop ringing , the service was first class and the food outstanding it arrived promptly and piping hot.

Not been to the Raj Mahal for over 25 years, we decided to give it a go. 1st time as a couple, I had a nosey at TripAdvisor for a bit of feedback and it was pretty impressive. My opinion is, it was excellent, shared the sizzling starter for 2. It was spot on, I had some sort of chefs special as my main, it contained prawns, king prawns, chicken, meat, mushrooms, onion. This was because I couldn't make my mind up. It was superb, the king prawns were the best I've ever had. Had mushroom rice and a garlic Naan. The Mrs had chicken Rogan Josh, I asked her how it was, she said different. Good or bad different? She said good. So all in all we had a cracking meal, service was good and cost was very good value. We will return.

We went here after reading recent reviews & loved it. Stopping at the Old White Lion it was only a 15 minute walk. We had Shami Kebabs & Fish Pakora starters which were excellent & rather large portions. Mains we had Chicken Madras & Keema Pathia, both excellent & the 3 chilli rating was a very good guide. Chappaties & Poppadoms also very good & the bill was only £18. We took a bottle of wine & the staff were very friendly & attentive. Having arrived at 6pm we could pick our table too. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Haworth (There's a Spar not far away if taking your own drinks)

I've left a review previously but after visiting again twice within a week I've had to leave a review! The currys are seriously the best currys I've ever had, not greasy in the slightest and so tasty! I love the fact you can take your own alcohol in as it makes it more relaxed and you're not hounded to buy more drinks, you're in there quite a while but it shows that every curry is made fresh and we don't mind waiting as it made it more of a meal and a night out. The staff are lovely and always recognise us which makes it even more special, we'll be back again soon ;)

We ordered takeaway while staying in Haworth again, the mixed starter for 2 is a meal in itself. The curry (madras) was tasty and chapatis fresh and soft. Generous portions, just what's needed after a day out walking.

The Raj is for me by far one of the best in Yorkshire. BYO well worth a visit.

Going on a Thursday night in the middle of September I suppose you wouldn't expect too many people in an Indian. However I was a bit concerned about our decision when we were the only ones for nearly an hour.

We called into the Raj Mahal while on holiday in Haworth. We were made to feel very welcome and the service was delightful everything was done with a smile. Food was delicious and piping hot. Loved it and will definitely go back next time we are in Haworth.

Just eaten here earlier, beautiful curry, and the service was excellent. Had the sizzling mix starter for 2, amazing value at £5.99, and the two curries were so tasty and the ingredients so fresh, the staff were so friendly, and the chef came to see us in the wife's request, so she could tell him it was the best keema naan she had ever had. Will definitely return

Just been to this excellent restaurant had starters and main course. The gent that greeted us was very helpful with the menu and what was the best for our tastes. The ambience was great and the food was better. We visited last year and the food was great then. If you are in vicinity it is in my opinion by far the best in the area.

Lovely restaurant with exceptionally friendly staff. The food was really excellent. Myself and my husband had a starter each and shared a main course with rice and naan - the bill came to £15. The restaurant is not licensed which we did not know before we went but there is a supermarket close by so not a problem. It was also 'cash only' but with a bill of £15 that did not matter, however, there is a cash machine nearby. This restaurant was advertised on a map of Haworth which we got from the Tourist Information Office and we are certainly pleased that we chose to eat there.

A last minute decision to go for an Indian meal whilst on the first night of our weekend away combined with a quick look at Trip Adviser led us to the Raj Mahal. Situated close to Howarth Station the Restaurant has a plush modern look with a high quality interior. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. For your information it is run on a bring your own Alcohol basis which we had not realised but this was not a problem as there is a Spar shop nearby. The menu is extensive and the prices are very reasonable. We had the Mixed Starter for two, which was amazing. The main courses were also lovely but be warned you won't need a sweet, as there is plenty to eat. Highly, recommended and well worth a visit.

Been to the Raj Mahal a few times now and each time the food is out of this world. So tasty, not oily and you can really taste flavours not just spice. So much so we've been twice in 3 days highly recommend the lamb madras. Service and prices are spot on, cannot recommend highly enough and will be returning again soon. A lovely family run Indian, how it's only number 19 is beyond me!

Had a party in Haworth last night & catering was done by the Raj Mahal. Our friends / family were all mega happy and impressed with the beautiful curries. I over estimated the quantities and they even put what was left into individual containers and I'm so glad I have a chest freezer. Will still dine out at their restaurant every week though. Thanks lovely people for your skill, service and excellence.

I had a delivery whilst on holiday after reading all the fantastic reviews. I genuinely cannot understand what the fuss is about. My curry was bland and fairly tasteless, the pilau was odd to say the least, and the onion bahjis were quite doughy. I did leave a good proportion of my meal. Maybe I had a "bad'n", but certainly would not use again.

Our second take away from here and just as good. Excellent value for money and so so tasty.

Flying visit not long ago really impressed by the quality of food. Only downside was that it is not licensed but the quality food made up for it. Nice little gem.

We always have a takeaway when staying in Haworth, we have never been disappointed. Really nice service, excellent food and good value. Just wish it was nearer where we live, would be there every week. Be back soon.

This was our first visit here. I picked it using trip advisor. The food & service were both very good.

We were staying in Howarth for a weeks holiday and I chose this restaurant for our first night. Purely from the reviews on trip advisor. The food was excellent. My husband had the best onion bajji. Really cooked properly, non of this onion dripping in horrible fat. Then chicken madras. I had king prawn pathia which was amazing. Highly recommend it. We also had the biggest nan bread ever !! We could not believe the cost, it was so cheap. And a BYO which is good. But also, the staff were so nice and friendly. Could not do enough for you. No wonder the place is so busy and the owner seemed to know everyone. If it was near where we lived, I would be there all the time. Excellent evening.

I had the lamb Pathia...one of the best I have had. The place is very reasonably priced and they take pride in what they serve you. Highly recommend. I don't live in Harworth but if ever visiting here again, would definitely have a meal here again.

Wonderful date spot for me and my little lady. Delicious food and very atmospheric. Couldn't praise the staff more.. very polutr and kind. Only downside is no option to pay by card.. no major issue thkugh as there is a cash point at the local convenience store and it's less than 69 second walk. All in all top ratings. Definitely be back.

What a great family curry night out.The restaurant is clean,light and bright.There were 10 of us,and nothing was too much trouble for our very friendly waiter.Large extensive menu to choose from,and as we all like different levels of curry heat we were well catered for.The food came quickly and was served hot and good portion sizes.Everything was great to eat,a fantastic nights curry.

I realise this is the 7th review I've given the Raj Mahal but we've gone every week for 7 years just about & I'm entitled. Reason, quality value for money authentic Indian food. Where can you you get a King Prawn Sizzler with over 20 King Prawns and loads of onion, with a side of potato Madras, perfect generous portion of Pilau Rice & salad, for under 9 quid? Take a bottle of you're favourite tipple as the Raj has no licence, and enjoy. Can't praise them enough.

Staying in the area for a few days. Saw review in the cottage saying how good the food was. Absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, run by two brothers. The restaurant has been in the same family for 27 years. The food was excellent. Chicken path is was a standout dish for me also the balti mixed vegetables. The poppadoms were so light melt in the mouth. We had 3 main courses with rice and chappattis, poppadoms all for under £20
