Really good evening at the hotel and Wilfred’s restaurant. Food was excellent and service very good (despite restaurant being busy due to wedding party).

Service on arrival brilliant at the table non existent left sitting waiting Spoilt the overall night Food good Drink was good not asked if we wanted more when the took the empty bottles away and still courses to go

This is a top notch restaurant in Burnley. The interior is gorgeous and food is great. I had the duck and chips, my husband had the steak and kids had pasta and the burger. We couldn't fault anything. And the kids got to play on the pirate ship afterwards. And you can go for a little walk in the grounds after / before.

We had visited this restaurant on our last UK visit and it was a very good experience so we had no hesitation in eating here again and meeting up with friends. It is a very popular place so it’s best to book in advance ( deposit required). The staff here are brilliant and no matter how busy they are, they always seem to have time with all diners. It’s a very comfortable establishment with a relaxing decor and a very good menu indeed with most, if not all, allergies catered for. Food portions are reasonable not over facing and the food is beautifully prepared and presented. Service is excellent. We would certainly recommend the sea bass which was absolutely delicious. Choosing a sweet was not easy given the mouth watering choices! We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and wouldn’t hesitate to eat here 8n the future. Highly recommended.

Cheese bonbons were underwhelming. Risotto rice was burnt which was took off my bill because I sent it back. The chocolate done dessert was amazing as were the waiting staff

Come for a birthday meal on Wednesday night. Service was excellent especially with my guest being celiac. Staff very helpful. For main I had the rigatoni arrabiatta with chicken, very tasty. We opted for desserts. I had the sticky toffee pudding. I have to say not the best STP I have eaten and the portion was tiny, 3 spoonfuls and it was gone ! for 9 quid not the best value for money imo.

We enjoyed our last visit so we decided to make it a regular haunt. Great atmosphere and ambience; perfect for any occasion. Delicious food from a good and varied menu all served in a polite, efficient and friendly manner. Our dessert order was overlooked and the staff apologised for the delay and knocked the cost off the final bill. Only down side for us is having to pay a deposit on booking as we never know what's round the corner so to speak and we lost our deposit on one occasion owing to a medical emergency.

What a stunning restaurant this is. We were in the area for a short break and went here for Valentines dinner. Friom the moment we stepped into the beautiful setting, the service was immaculate. Friendly greeting and all the staff were absolutely on point. Food was outstanding and I really cannot fault anything.

Been to dinner/show functions at the hotel previously so we thought we'd sample Wilfred's for an evening meal. We were definitely not disappointed and were made to feel very welcome. Ambience just right for us; couples in all sorts of outfits but I didn't feel overdressed in my sparkles. Jaydn gave us top class service and the food was stunningly delicious. Great restaurant for all occasions! We have come previously as a couple and came with family on Sunday for a birthday meal. Enjoyed by all. Attentive service as always. Looking forward to coming back in summer when the kids can play outside on the pirate ship!

The most horrendous and most expensive Christmas Day meal ever. Never again. This restaurant needs much attention. It has no right to describe itself as a 'fine dining restaurant'. A more appropriate description would be 'an expensive restaurant with an unsupervised creche, where your children can play, shout and scream to their little hearts content'. It certainly did not 'ooze style and sophistication' (their description) when we went there for our Christmas Day meal. Only one of the five of us had finished our main course when the noise level from children in the restaurant become intolerable and we couldn't hear each other speak. We asked the staff to box up our remaining Christmas Day meals. Before we were served dessert, we had to ask to be moved to another table, trying to get away from the excessive noise. The food in the main was standard, apart from the soup course which was delicious. I accept it is a child friendly restaurant but I am amazed how parents and management think it is acceptable for children to behave in this manner, causing disruption to other diners and being a health & safety hazard to staff who are walking about with hot food and drinks. Surely there should be some etiquette rules on behaviour, so that other diners can eat their very expensive Christmas Dinner in the so called fine dining and sophisticated environment that Wilfred's purports to be. Some of the staff are very good and very helpful. Others are surly and condescending, such as the lady and man on hotel reception who we heard talking about us at 7.10pm saying 'they don't look like they're getting ready to leave'. Simon the Manager will make himself scarce before he will deal with a situation. We were notified prior to Christmas Day that last orders for drinks would be 7.30pm, therefore assuming guests would then have time to actually enjoy their drink. Just after 7pm the staff started to clean the floors and drag tables and chairs across the floor, I guess rearranging to prepare for breakfast guests the next day. Totally oblivious to the noise they made and again, not really helping to create a 'sophisticated environment'. We left at 7.30pm. In summary, a Christmas Day meal for 5 people at £150 each, plus drinks at £132.80, total £882.80 of hard earned money - for the worst dining experience of my life. More fool me for paying that and expecting it to be special. It was horrendous.

I’ve been to Wilfred’s twice now and it’s absolutely incredible. The food is of such a high standard. For the quality/ taste of the food I think the price is fair. This restaurant is a real treat.

We went to Wilfred's last year and thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it would be the same this year. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, the table laid out perfectly,, crackers top quality, the food as always was cooked to perfection plus good wine. My husband and I felt as though the place was not as busy as last year but maybe that contributed to the lack of atmosphere.

Had booked Christmas Day a while back and arrived with partner. Could not fault, from the initial welcome, pre drinks and meal … staff were welcoming and friendly throughout. Food arrived in good time, good presentation and tasting good. Relaxed, rich and ambient atmosphere with solo singer All leading to a faultless Christmas.

Booked a meal at Wilfreds on the 26th December for 8.45pm and this was booked on the 26th at lunch time and £20 paid as a deposit,family emergency at tea time and I phoned to cancel and rebook for another time later in the week and transfer the deposit,not possible and you lose the deposit and I wasn't going to pay them another £20 deposit. The ironic thing is I checked the on line bookings for Wilfreds at 5 30pm and there were plenty of slots available so it's not as though there were big queues to fill the tables. They could easily have transfered the deposit to another night.

We’ve visited Wilfred’s before and found it to be lively, good food and great service so booked again. Super meal, I had Lobster Toast to start and a 10oz Sirloin with big fat chips, green beans and a peppercorn sauce for mains. Everyone else really enjoyed theirs too and we were served by the lovely Elisa who deserves a mention 🙂 However, front desk/reception need to up their game. We arrived slightly early so we could have a drink at the bar beforehand. On giving my name Lynda told me not once, not twice but three times there was no reservation in my name! After a few minutes and as I delved into my iPhone to retrieve the info she suddenly said “Oh, I’ve found it. You’re at 7.45”. No apology or sorry given for the quite dismissive way she’d handled my booking. Anyway, I was just glad we had our table as being so close to Christmas I had no Plan B! I knocked off one mark for the Lynda incident (who had her badge on upside down 🤪) otherwise it’d be 5 stars and a definite recommendation.

Amazing as always. I had steak and it was perfectly cooked, great menu, great drinks, great staff. It wasn’t even too expensive either for what we had and the quality of the meal. Will definitely return thanks a lot.
