Wild Mint Cafe in Lincoln

Visited with two friends but hadn’t pre-booked afternoon tea. Roma and her Manager went above and beyond to accommodate us and provided a wonderful and delicious afternoon tea. Exemplary customer service, thank you so much.

It was a great experience! We ordered the afternoon tea . The food was delicious the sandwiches were rapped individually the cakes fresh and tasty and the best cappuccino ever😉. Thank you Val and the girls for the hospitality

Went here with my my family for brunch. Had a very nice meal with even better service. Valia was especially kind and very helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Me and my family will definitely be back.

A few days ago I had coffee and I got a cake that wasn't fresh. Moreover, I witnessed a situation in which another customer reported to the manager that his chair was broken. and that he was asking for an exchange, the manager completely ignored the customer's request, she did something else, he got angry and said he would report it to the appropriate person, she was very unpleasant to him, not a professional approach to the customer. I've been there several times and I also heard how rude she is to her employees and her facial expressions as if she were angry. I don't recommend this place, I probably won't go there again, only shopping

I live in lincoln and my favourite place for coffee and food spend most days there with my friend . Staff very friendly and always have something new on the menu well impressed under the new manager .

The Wild Mint Cafe is a great place for meeting friends and having either tea and cake, breakfast or lunch. I have been visiting for a couple of years and, since the current manager has taken over, there has been a really impressive change in the quality of food, food presentation and menu choices. The staff are brilliant, warm and friendly - a great team. The cafe is always clean and standards generally are extremely high. I thoroughly recomment a visit!

I have visited the cafe in the past but it has changed management since then and I was very excited to see what’s new! Food was incredible! I had a brie and cranberry sandwich and it was delicious! Freshly made and very quick service! Val (the manager)and all the staff were very helpful and informed me about the discounted drink refill promotion! I have been going back every weekend since! I highly recommend it!!

Mismatched crockery, dirty cutlery and don’t even get me started in the state of the tea pot. Feeling a tad peckish I popped in for a cream tea. The scone was okay and the tea surprisingly good. The presentation however is extremely poor. I love the idea of retro crockery but in this caseit feels less retro chic and more junk shop seconds. The cutlery looks like it hasn’t been washed in a while, the tea pot had stains on the outside and the cup wasn’t clean. The clotted cream was served in an old jam jar with the label peeling off.

I called in for tea and a snack before a dance class. The service was friendly and efficient and the scone very tasty, and the employee on her way to clear the tables also greeted me with a smile. I'll be returning as it's a handy place to call into while shopping and has a bit more character than the chain coffee shops.

I've been to this cafe a few times over the last several months, the latest being this month. I usually have tea and a scone as a snack. The scones are good quality and tea is served in a teapot, which is always a plus point for me. A reasonable amount of tea and good presentation. I don't like the increasing tendency at some cafes for tea to be served as a teabag floating in a mug. The staff have always been polite, efficient and helpful on my visits. Tables were clean and clear. It's a reasonably spacious cafe so doesn't feel crowded.

I just called here for a light dinner. I have been coming to this restaurant since the 1970's (under different names and management) I ordered a Coffee and a bacon and tomato toastie I sat down at my table, my toasties came. But without any cutlery, or spoon for my coffee. The toasties consisted of two partially toasted pieces of bread, some slightly cooked bacon and tomato which wasn't even warm. No sign of any butter at all. I was of the opinion that toasties had cheese in them, I may be wrong on that. The coffee was so strong that the small jug of milk hardly changed the colour of it. A second jug hardly made any difference at all. I asked where the sugar was and was told it was on the table in a pot. No, it wasn't. There was only sweetener. I asked again. Oh, you'll have to look on the other tables,was the reply I got. All in all a dreadful dinner. I doubt I shall be returning again.

Dirty tables lack of staff surly staff spray tables. And use same rags that where dirty to wipe tables shabby chic at its shabbiest

Service good , choice a bit limited but food was nice . Staff pleasant and polite. No signs to say where exactly you are in the store, just which floor you are on . If you are in charge of the toilets adjacent to the cafe they are disgraceful.

We used to frequent the House of Fraser cafe often but hadn’t been for a number of years, we decided to try it again yesterday and were sorely disappointed. We ordered ham, egg and chips, expecting it to be of a good standard. The meal arrived on a small plate designed for serving a sandwich/scone etc with a drink as there was an indentation for a cup within the said plate. The food quality though was poor. The ham was tasteless, the eggs rubberised and the chips were sparse and cool.

Staff are always friendly when I’m here and the food is great! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!

£18 for tea for four people which was 2 teapots which only gave us one cup each. Two tea cakes and a croissant which didn’t even come with jam , two knives between 3 of us and no napkins. We had to hunt around the nearby tables for sugar. The teapots and cups were very stained. Had I visited the ladies toilet before we ate I wouldn’t have gone to the cafe as they were in a terrible state , no toilet paper or hot water so I wonder how the kitchen staff wash their hands and wash up hygienically . A member of staff bought over our tray without a smile or a word. Expected better to be honest and will use Mark’s & Spencer in future.

At this self service cafe, none of the cards displaying the food items (soup, sandwiches etc) had any details of allergens. I asked what dairy free sandwich fillings they had, and the server had no idea. She went off to the kitchen to ask. I...

We visited today for a light lunch on a damp and drizzly day. Ordered two hot sandwiches and pot of tea. Tea arrived promptly, 15 minutes later went to chase up the sandwiches and they had not been ordered asked for a refund due to car park time limit. Served by Tasha F. We did not even get an apology. This was very poor customer service, The cafe had very little choice and looked scruffy.I don’t know if the cafe is a franchise within the store but the store was dismal and very few customers.We won’t be going back to either the cafe or the store

long wait to be served, when food brought over it was cold and missing cutlery. when i spoke to the woman staff member about it she was snappy and rude. I wont be coming again.

Awful service and particularly awful food. It came out with mucky cutlery and the jacket potato I ordered was frozen in the middle?! Not what I would expect from a house of Fraser cafe. Staff seem unhappy to be there which doesn’t help the experience....

Grubby crockery, even the outside of the teapots were filthy. The wait was interminable. Nothing seemed managed or monitored. Very very disappointed as only a handful of customers so no excuse. Binns is the ONLY department store in Lincoln now so this restaurant really needs...

Had a coffee and scone, I shared my scone with my friend, we both enjoyed the cranberry and white chocolate which was a nice surprise. Girl on coffee was friendly, full of smiles. Had a chat about her bump. Definitely coming back, for my scone...

It’s a shame the service has gone down hill here as the food is quite pleasant, not a huge choice on the menu but the paninis are spot on. The queue to order went around the corner because one member of staff gets the drinks...

Had lunch today at the wild mint cafe in Lincoln.. The food was lovely and fresh.. Service was excellent, served by friendly staff.. Would most definitely recommend.. Thanks to the manager Sean and the young lady serving at the counter..

Absolutely wonderful afternoon tea for my friend's Birthday today. Shaun and Casey went out of their way to make it very special with balloons, a banner and the most beautiful cakes, sandwiches and scones. So lovely to have such a great time after lock down....

Perfect cafe with really cheerful staff. Great range for cafe snacks. Really freshly cooked scones. Excellent capuchino. Definitely worth returning

We love this place lovely staff great food generous portions with great value for money. If you like a really jam packed fresh tasting salad it’s the place to go.

Popped in for lunch, very friendly staff. Enjoyed a tuna melt and a fish finger sandwich with a good cup of tea and a portion of chips.

Came here last Saturday with my mother and had lunch staff were friendly and food was good! Mum had the cream tea and I had the tuna lemon and cucumber sandwiches! It looked good and taste ok. It could have done with a little more...

Although there were no vegan cakes available we enjoyed a soya flat white and an Americano, prepared by a very pleasant and personable lady. The cafe has a bright and pleasing décor, well illuminated and with a bird themed feature wall.

I have been visiting this cafe a few times now, as they offered a selection of salads, one being chicken and bacon salad, and were happy to adapt to due to me being a coeliac (swapped the salad dressing).They also offered a few gluten free cakes in the display cabinets, plus biscuits by the till gluten free, so plenty of choice.Today however, it’s a different story, the menu has changed, and the salads on offer are in the display cabinet, they no longer offer the old salads, and no allergies information was displayed.I wasn’t able to have any of the salads as it was quiche (gluten) and the items to go with the quiche, I was informed the dressings had gluten in them. The staff member asked the chef about the salads and was informed they only do what’s on display.Quite shocking to say that more cafes/ restaurants are now catering for food intolerances gluten and they have gone backwards.

On the first floor of House of Fraser, this is a lovely little oasis for lunch. Healthy salads and hot foods and yummy desserts. Helpful and friendly staff. Went with super picky teenagers and they enjoyed the food, so....

Este café está en la casa de Fraser. La tienda en sí no es su mejor ejemplo. Se siente desorganizado, pasado de moda y en general poco atractivo. Esto mismo se aplica a su café. Es una serie de pequeñas habitaciones interconectadas. La decoración aburrida. Las opciones de menú habituales. El café tardaba años en encargarse (no hay servicio de mesa, te paras y esperas y esperas y esperas). El café era muy normal. Las tablas son lentas en ser borradas. Está lo suficientemente limpio. Los baños están cerca, son anticuados y no son fáciles de negociar si tiene hijos o problemas para caminar. No recomendaría este café, también es muy difícil de encontrar.

Entramos en "brunch", ya que habíamos tenido buenas experiencias antes. Pedimos 2 papas y tazas de té. Las papas se sirvieron rápidamente, con abundantes aderezos (atún y pollo con tocino), un montón de ensalada y ensalada de col. Las tazas de té contenían 3 tazas cada una. . Esto cuesta 14. 70 p, y valió más por el estándar que estableció. Las mesas del restaurante se despejaron rápidamente, y la cola en el servidor fue constante. . La calidad de la comida y el servicio era admirable.

We have visited this café on both of our visits to Lincoln, and enjoy the food and atmosphere. The staff are polite, and with good food and pleasant comments to customers this is a good place to dine.

This cafe seems to have had mostly negative reviews from people who have eaten here for lunch.

I wasn’t greeted very nicely, thought the waitress was rude towards me and didn’t talk to me politely, other than that the food was great and all the other staff seemed very friendly, was spoilt by one staff member

This is a visit for the second time since it’s revamp a couple of years ago.

We stopped off for a bite to eat and am ashamed to say was disappointed quiche of the day it came hot but was rubbery on paying the machine was offered to me over my food causing me to knock a bottle over no replacement offered the machine should be on a stand away from your food

Came in for a quick lunch, ordered a quiche, a sandwich and some chips, took 50 minutes to arrive, and when it finally did arrive order was wrong, no communication from the staff saying why it what was late, until the rude manager came out and explained that they had lost the order. Food was okay when it finally arrived correctly, but ultimately not good enough...

Had a really lovely toasted sandwich and cup of tea from a teapot, friendly staff. It was my first visit, went with friends and would definitely return.

We normally stop here for a drink and a bite to eat, but gone off the cakes as some are not covered? The staff are amazing very attentive.

We'd trudged round Lincoln city center looking for a quick bit without much success and came upon this department store, so when to find their cafe. It looks recently refurbished, bright and inviting. Lots of tasty cakes tempt you. We opted for toasted sandwiches and chips.
