Wowow!! My husband and I used the private dining room at Wild Honey for our wedding meal. Obviously, there was exceptional food but also an unflustered approach to several diverse and niche dietary requirements. The whole team of staff were phenomenal - from Kay, who answered all of our questions promptly and thoroughly and made our day extra special to the sommelier, Eduardo, providing us with a great selection of options for the wine, to Vicky who served us and made friends with every single guest and, Anthony who made the effort to come and wish us well in the middle of service. Thanks all!

Michelin-starred Wild Honey St James' exquisite British cuisine The chef came out specially to chat with me. The chef is a British native The chef is also from Hong Kong. I hope to incorporate some Chinese elements in the future. I like the venison they cook. I had a great time eating venison in London. The name of the restaurant is Honey, so the wild honey ice cream is a must-try. The overall experience is pretty good

Food was a mixed bag - both starters were great but the veal and the custard tart (their specialty dessert) were disappointing. The veal lacked flavour (under seasoned) and the dish as a whole was boring and lacked innovation. The custard tart tasted very similar to M&S custard tarts! The rabbit was better than the veal. For the price and the michelin star I would expect a more thoughtful menu with higher quality food. The service was ok but nothing exceptional especially for the price - we have had much more attentive service elsewhere for much cheaper. Save your money and go somewhere else :)

A lovely restaurant, styled well and with a good vibe. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the food and menu. None of the food ‘wowed’ our party. The terrine starter was delicious but main course of beef was chewy and rather tough. The biggest disappointment was chocolate soup which was more of a gooey brownie than anything wonder you might imagine would be classed as chocolate soup. For a Michelin starred restaurant, the food was disappointing, lacked refinement and didn’t serve up the wow factor expected for such a prestigious award.

We visited The Wild Honey for dinner last night, and I must say it was an overall pleasant experience. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive. We were there to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and while we enjoyed the evening, it would have been a lovely touch to receive a small slice of something with a candle on top—especially since I had specifically mentioned the occasion when making the reservation. These small gestures truly make the difference between a good experience and an unforgettable one.

It felt lacking in different aspects for a michelin restaurant. Food was ok but not wow Service was completely off From rushing the starters and mains then waiting almost 40 minutes for desserts ,not asking if we want a different wine with the mains or even notice the water bottle was empty having us to ask about it 2 times . Even on that there was miscommunication between the waiters as first we asked for tap water and then they brought still water which obviously got charged As the last thing we had an anniversary celebration but they didn't read the description of the booking so at the end we had to remind them which brought us to an uncomfortable situation.

Spectacular from start to finish. Staff could. It have been nicer. Helpful suggestions, checked on food allergies repeatedly and worked around issues. The food is next level. Creative and delicious. First course that we loved were the chicken (tender with a delicious sauce), eel which was a combination of amazing flavors and the scallops which was wonderful. Maine included rabbit two ways, both amazing but the slow roasted was one of the best entrees I’ve had in years, venison which was tender and delicious, and halibut also fantastic. Our desserts were the custard which was light and fruity, chocolate soup and raspberry mouse. Everything was delicious. Finally we had coffee which came with some more sweets, all of which were super tasty. Could not recommend highly enough.

Had an amazing time at Wild Honey! The service and the food was top tier and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant is quite small but apart from that I would definitely go back again. We went on Valentine's Day which just so happens to be my wife's birthday so the restaurant was full and there was a slight wait in-between courses or drunk service but given the time of year it was completely understandable. The chef came round and explained the starters to us which is always a plus point with me. Our waitress Vicky was great, she was funny and knowledgeable about the courses and definitely made the difference for us today. My wife can be quite the picky eater but the Sutton Hoo Chicken is possibly the best chicken course she has ever had. It was incredibly tender and the sauce wasn't too overpowering with truffle. 9/10 easily.

We had a pleasant meal here. I’d read mixed reviews about the service on Tripadvisor, but I have to say the staff were fantastic - attentive, warm and welcoming. The setting is nice, and they open at 5pm, so it’s a good option for an early dinner, pre theatre, if required. Food wise - we had the main a la carte menu. It’s was okay/good, but not amazing. I’m really not sure how it has a Michelin star, but I find myself saying that quite a lot lately. Tasty, but forgettable, is the best way to sum it up. If it were a colour - it would be beige. There was no wow factor to anything and the deserts in particular were very disappointing. I will never understand serving cold sourdough bread, when everyone knows it’s better warm. I suspect the bread was not made on site. The beef main was pleasant, but I’ve had better beef in a Miller & Carter. Their so called signature desert ‘it has to be custard’ is nothing more than a slice of custard tart. Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice enough tart, but if the limit of your culinary creativity is to make a decent custard tart, then don’t expect any customers to have their minds blown. And as for their chocolate soup, well it’s as odd as it sounds. A textureless blob of chocolate. No thank you.

We came for the New Year, what a disappointment! We are seated at the bar, 2 minutes later we are already moved to a corner. As soon as we start the champagne, we are told that we must quickly sit down at the table because it is only reserved for 2 hours. The “sommelier” jumps on us when we haven’t even ordered our dishes, he rushes us to order bottles ranging from 3000 to 12000 euros….. the meal is not worth the Michelin star, we pay for a special New Year's menu which is available all year round for less (the "special" dessert for my husband, a scoop of ice cream worthy of flunch!!) We hurry to eat everything, arriving at dessert (which has not yet been served because it was forgotten for 45 minutes), we are invited to go to the bar to finish our dishes, shameful! Each dish is placed and not even explained, we don't know what we were eating. Not to mention that we left without a goodbye, almost kicked out. My husband's jacket was lost, in the end, my husband had to go find his jacket himself which was just ruined on the floor. Everything was a disaster! The deplorable service, bordering on insulting. We are deeply saddened to have spent a New Year's evening in such a place with such a welcome. No consideration for the customer, it feels like a McDonald’s given the sequence of “services”. Deplorable!!

A disappointing experience despite the prestige We had high expectations coming to this Michelin-starred restaurant, but the service completely ruined our experience. As soon as we arrived, the welcome was frosty, and the staff were condescending throughout the meal. The delays between dishes were endless, and despite our reminders, we had the impression of being ignored. No effort was made to correct the errors (a dish served cold, a poorly recommended wine). When you pay such a price for a gastronomic experience, you expect impeccable service. Here we felt like we were treated like a nuisance rather than guests. Unacceptable for an establishment of this standard.

Staff who lack politeness and interpersonal skills. Impossible for them to say goodbye… Attitude to be seen again. The jackets from the locker room lying on the floor… The staff seemed more concerned with timing than customer enjoyment. It felt like we were in a race against time... To top it all off, some dishes were simply not served which added to our frustration. As for the food, I was expecting a New Year's Eve meal, but the reality was quite different. The dishes lacked flavor and did not reflect the special occasion. It was far from living up to my expectations, especially for a Michelin-starred restaurant…. Barely at the level of a gastro… In summary, if you are looking for a place to spend a pleasant evening, I recommend that you avoid this restaurant. It's best to find another place where you can really enjoy a good meal without pressure and with respectful service.

I really wanted to like a trip to this restaurant. Lets start on the positives. The bar on entry is lovely and the staff were great and friendly. The cocktails were gorgeous too. The restaurant is wonderful and again the staff super attentive without being intrusive. So why 3 stars? The food just was not that tasty. The beef dish and the custard desert were nice, but various other items were lacking. When almost untouched plates were returned the staff didnt ask why. If they had i think would have just said i dont like the taste so not sure they could have done anything. Either way im glad i went but wont be rushing back.

Wild Honey offers a three course set lunch called the ‘working lunch’ at £59 that includes a glass of champagne and coffee with a canelé, with a choice from two options per course. Assuming that one of each option appeals, which it did to the three of us, then this represents excellent value. We found every element of the meal to be faultless; food, service, pace of delivery all perfect. I recommend it wholeheartedly and we will look no further when returning to the area.

I know Michelin stars can create a lot of expectations and pressure for the team at the restaurant. So let me start with this: is the food nice? Yes. But is it worth the price? My personal opinion is you can have a better dining experience with a lower price. We all went for the 3-course a la carte menu at £95 per person + 15% service. We were early enough to choose the £45 Early Supper menu (also 3 course, albeit fewer choices. Offered between 17h and 18h30). If the quality of food was the same for the Early Supper Menu, then £45 is probably worth it. The quality of food was mixed. Some dishes were nice such as the venison (not quite amazing level, compared to other fine dining restaurants), some were disappointing, especially the beef. My friend remarked that Flat Iron’s even better. Many dishes were simply unremarkable. I remember someone once told me that you can tell if a restaurant is good based on their bread, and their sourdough was certainly unremarkable. Their signature dish is their Custard tart, which was nice. But I think the fact that it was branded as a signature meant that I had high expectations which led me being ultimately a bit disappointed. Speed of service was good. It was interesting how the chef came in and out of the restaurant multiple (an excessive amount of) times, and he doesn’t engage with any of their patrons. There doesn’t seem to be a massive feedback culture at the restaurant. Had I been asked my thoughts on the dishes (chef or waiter), I would’ve mentioned that I was curious why the chawanmushi was served cold when the eel was warm. Occasionally, it took the servers a while to refill our glasses for tap water. But they were still broadly attentive. The coordination also seems like there could be improvements: one server already came and confirmed allergies of guests as listed in our reservation online, and another server came later and asked if we have any allergies afterwards. There just wasn’t many nice touches unlike other Michelin restaurants. There was no petit fours. I was at another 1 star restaurant last week and at the end, I was given a copy of the menu. None of that happened here. Was it a good dining experience: sure. But I think I struggle to justify both the price and the Michelin accolade.

Had lunch here with a friendly business acquaintance. We spurned the opportunity to take the business set menu which was very reasonably priced, and went à la carte. I had the smoked eel which was delicious, followed by the monk fish which was excellent. We drank an Austrian wine by the glass. The service was friendly but not pretentious, and the restaurant is airy and light. Little touches were good, such as a plate of amusebouches before and petits fours afterwards. The desserts were inspiring (I had the wild honey). But the most negative aspect was the price which came to over £300 for two. Of course if we had had the set menu this would’ve been about half the price but for lunch I would say this is overpriced . Still a useful place to know about with a Michelin star near to the theatre area and the National Gallery. When the bill came, we had been charged for an extra glass of Chablis that we didn’t take.

Wish there was more snacks but otherwise pretty standard but good meal Edit from original review 2 years ago and increased from 4 to 5 stars: came back since it got its Michelin star and I can say the food, presentation and service has drastically increased in quality. You can see in the latest pics the dishes are way more intricate and flavourful. Enjoyed every course although a little bit cheeky we asked for tea and coffee and they upgraded it to add the petit fours for £18 without our consent. We booked to come to Wild Honey St James as a last minute reservation having extended our stay in London by a night. We booked it the night before which in itself was a surprise as trying to book a Michelin star restaurant on a Friday night with no notice seemed a bit far fetched but there was availability so we booked. We had the 3 course tasting menu that gave us approximately 4 choices for starter, main and dessert with complimentary champagne and the usual extras one would expect in a Michelin restaurant. The food was beautiful and plentiful after 3 courses we nearly had to be rolled out! We didn’t have a wine flight as I am pregnant but the staff were so attentive and made sure things were slightly adapted as a result. We have been to many Michelin star restaurants and this felt like the most relaxed with a wonderful atmosphere and background music that added to the ‘buzz’. It was a perfect casual Michelin experience which was exactly what we were looking for and for £95pp for a 3 course it was exceptional value for money. The staff were wonderful and attentive but not overbearing, and we honestly have nothing bad to say about our experience. We both came away feeling like we stumbled on this gem and would recommend to anyone.

We booked dinner at Wild Honey recently as part of my wife’s birthday weekend. The restaurant is very conveniently placed, a few minutes from Piccadilly Circus. It is part of Sofitel London St James hotel, although can be entered separately. The staff and atmosphere were both very friendly but informal. The menu is based on a fixed price for three courses. There were the usual choices on the menu, all beautifully executed. The dishes were just the right size to enjoy three courses without feeling uncomfortably full. The service was exceptionally fast - unusually so for a Michelin star restaurant. Despite being a Saturday, they did seem quiet. Although they did cater for a gluten free diet, I was slightly disappointed that only one or two options were suitable for each course. The wine choice was good & reasonably priced. We were also offered a complimentary extra desert for my wife’s birthday, which was a nice touch.

1. Three people took turns taking the first drink order, but the signatures weren't correct and the carbonated water I initially ordered didn't even come out. When I looked at the bill later, it was included in the price, which was very absurd. 2. I made a reservation a few days ago, but something came up during the meal, so I asked to be moved, but the flow of the meal was interrupted, and I wondered if this was basic restaurant manners. 3. I ordered a half bottle of white wine and my glass was empty, but none of the staff knew or cared. I sat there for a while and asked to fill it up, and only then did they give it to me. I thought it would be really easy to pay my own money and eat properly. 4. The food was delicious, the wine and cocktails went well together, and the staff were very friendly and nice. However, the price of drinks that were not served even when I ordered them was included, and I was quite disappointed, perhaps because I had high expectations, but I wonder if a Michelin-starred restaurant can only be of this standard. no see.

We had a very lovely experience at the Wild Honey. I had the best chicken breast among all fine dining experiences before. It is flavourful and tender with almost firm tofu like texture. Chef is absolutely lovely to talk to. Will go back again. Love this place.

The a la carte options were great -- the Sutton Hoo chicken that was featured was a true highlight, while the Wild Honey ice cream also stood out! The service was also phenomenal across the board. When he heard I was celebrating an engagement, the chef personally came to congratulate us, and then proceeding to go above and beyond, spending 15 minutes chatting with us about football and offering food recommendations in the next place we were staying on our trip. Truly a lovely meal, made even more special by Anthony. Highly recommend.

Got the pre theatre meal. Food was excellent value for money, though the service was just shy of what I expected. The wild honey dessert was exquisite!

Beautiful dinning room, attentive service. Pre-theatre menu is a lovely, don't forget you need to add a 15% surcharge on top of the advertised 3 course pre theatre price. The gazpacho soup was superb, I could eat that over and over. The dessert was also as standout, not over sweet, simple and seasonal - fresh cherries, ice cream and little crumble.

This place has it all, on point service, great food, and a chic, minimalist decor. My wife ordered the Scottish Blue lobster; it had the best flavor of any lobster we have had the pleasure of being served. We highly recommend this establishment.

Perfect food with a really cool chef Anthony Demetre who is so nice to talk with us and share with us his tricks behind his amazing dishes. Amazing hospitality!

What a pathetic odd place. A Michelin starred restaurant in a 5* deluxe London hotel. Joke incredibly slow service, really average menu and disappointing food - after a very long wait. Literally no interest in sorting any allergies or being remotely accommodating. Appalling options. The restaurant was dead on a Sunday afternoon - now we know why. Don’t waste your time or money here - just no need to wish the choice in the local area.

Good if you are hungry. There were only two dishes and desert, but I can barely walk after. Food and service was great. Top: they do have a wine list, it’s not obvious as they have drinks menu with wine in it.

We were looking for a good fine dining option near trafalgar square and wild honey didnt disappoint. Good variety on the 95 GBP menu- starting from the pea amuse, through great agnolotti with courgette, quail many ways and pigeon. Great cheese selection and chocolate soup a winner (not too sweet). Nice to have English sparkling on the menu and good carafe selection of red wines.

Visited this restaurant for dinner a few days ago. Wow! We absolutely loved it. The food was superb, but what made this visit for us was the outstanding service from the staff. We were made to feel very welcome, not rushed in any way, explanations of food and wine if needed but not forced upon us. Would highly recommend and would definitely revisit on a future occasion when visiting London.

Exceptional value for Michelin star. Had pre-theatre menu, great service and location. Did some shopping at Dover Street Market nearby.

Blown away by the quality and attention to detail at this place, staff were also very attentive and lovely to interact with. Not cheap (or easy to book) but worth it!! We last visited back in 2022

We have been there a year ago the food and service was excellent. Now the quality of food was terrible. We feel that the ownership has changed. Will not be going there anymore. Atmosphere was good nice and clean place.

Dinner here was nice but overpriced - seems to cater for American tourists more than locals. Dishes were fresh and had gluten free options, but also seemed a bit over the top for what they were

We stayed in London for 4 nights and after discovering this restaurant on the first night we couldn’t go anywhere else! We loved how close to the food we have in Turkey and enjoyed our meals so much. We were complimented with desserts and Turkish tea. lovely staff. would always go back!

Members-only offering a discreet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Soho and the surrounding theatre district. Superbly located offering an excellent seasonal menu and a carefully curated wine list
