The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. I recommend it.

We had a fantastic evening at The Prince Bonaparte. All of the staff were lovely and hospitable, meals were excellent, the beetroot hummus and camembert were incredible. We will be back!

Good spot for dinner and drinks with friends. Great vibes on Friday and Saturday night!

Mediocre food. No kids menu. They had a brief period of goodness after renovation but somehow it’s gone in the past year. The grey haired waiter was borderline rude. You can train people to open wine bottles but you can’t train someone who is not hospitable and has RBF and an attitude to match it.

The Baked Camembert was one of the best cheese dishes we’ve ever had. Ridiculously delicious.

The Sunday Roast was truly exceptional. With plenty of gravy and delicious Yorkshire pudding and soft roasted potatoes. We enjoyed out meal on a rainy evening in this cozy but bustling pub resto.

Would like to thank Joanna the Manager for rectifying my previous complaint so swiftly and my husband and I had a wonderful time on Sunday and the food was exceptional.

31 de diciembre de 2024 , NYE... Un buen amigo mío estaba en la ciudad con su esposa y dos hijos, reservé The Bonaparte para su familia y la mía (mi esposa y dos hijos también) para NYE. Ocho de nosotros nos dieron espacio en su mesa trasera con la reserva todo listo. Decoraron el Pub para NYE y trajimos nuestras galletas de Navidad y libros para colorear para los niños. Las bebidas llegaron rápidamente y nunca tuvimos que pedir más servicio. Mi hamburguesa era excelente, el pescado con patatas fritas eran fantásticos, mi amigo en la ciudad le encantó su pastel. Los postres eran maravillosos. El personal nos dejó descansar y pedir más bebidas a medida que crecía la noche. Los niños se portaron bien y nadie nos dio el ojo apestoso cuando salimos a las 11 pm para llegar a casa a ver los fuegos artificiales en la tele. NOS ENCANTA EL BONAPARTE, estoy tan contento de haber reservado aquí con nuestras familias para NYE!

Hello everyone, I don't recommend this place because the service is terrible, the food is decent, but the price kills you. I'll try the appetizer, what they call the main course, which in my opinion is not 100 grams, you have to pay as if you were eating caviar, avoid it.

We were disappointed by the food… the beef roast nore the Fish&Chips nore the chocolate cake were that good.

The pub was pretty quiet last night, but service was terrible. Arrived, were sat and server then promptly disappeared to the back section (which was empty). After about 15 minutes went up ourselves and got some menus. Waiter clearly didn’t want to be there. Eventually managed to order food and drinks and have a drink served. Food is good (although they have really jacked up their prices!). Asked for the bill, waiter acknowledged and then watched him polish and move glasses on and off a tray for about 10 minutes, then clear our table and then ask us if we still wanted our bill? We said we did, and had asked him for it quite a while ago. He clearly didn’t appreciate this, brought the bill and slammed it and the payment machine on the table and walked off…. When he came back I said that what he’d done wasn’t great, he just looked at me - so I asked for the manager. Explained it the manager what had happened and his first reply was ‘oh, I’m sure it wasn’t as bad as that’! When my guest assured him it absolutely was he just said ‘oh sorry’ and went and got the bill again. Such a shame as I live nearby and this used to be a great pub - clearly not anymore. Shan’t be back. There’s the Princess Grace and the Hayden around the corner, will continue spending my money where you are made to feel welcome, not a burden.

My friends enjoyed their roast lunches and I enjoyed my roast squash and lentils salad. Very nice relaxed ambiance and good table service in the restaurant.

I came to the Bonaparte during Halloween, dressed like Napoleon Bonaparte. I thought the staff would say something, but the didn’t even notice! When I asked they said “whatever, it’s decent.” Honestly they shouldn’t be allowed to be called “The Bonaparte”, if they don’t even know napoleon.

Been here 5 times. Staff are charming and food is top notch. Not sure why people would rate below 5. Quiet and beautiful pub in a lovely area. Not bad prices either. Couldn’t fault, it’s no hanbury but that’s a different breed. Also the pub quiz and wings Wednesday are a brill - definitely pop in!

I recently dined at this restaurant with a friend, and we had an outstanding experience from start to finish. Had a lovely Sunday lunch. Great food and the majority of the staff were really helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, this got spoilt by an older bar man who took our drinks away when clearly we’d just stepped outside for a cigarette and coats were still on chairs. When I asked where our drinks were, the response I got was dismissive and rude. He then made a big deal of replacing them and gave us a drop of each drink in fresh glasses. Considering our bill came to over £200 for two of us you think he’d have just apologised and replaced. Also, added an extra pint with the assumption that we’d lost count of how many drinks we’d had. Such a shame, as otherwise this is a great pub, but this man who was visibly irritated and dismissive of customers. Really disappointing.

Really great atmosphere- great food - would definitely return

Sadly we may have hit on a bad day. Service was painful. Very slow and a number of follow up requests for missing items were ignored, drinks were incorrect, one was missing after 30 mins and we had to go to the bar to order again. 30 mins before we realised no one was coming to take our order so we had to get up and find someone to do so. A further 30 mins until we got our food which considering it was mainly roasts was confusing as surely just needed plating up. No mint sauce for roast lamb, tried to charge £13 for a child’s portion of mac n cheese. Food was mediocre, roast potatoes awful which I think many people judge a roast by! Carrots rock hard. Sadly we’ll not be back, the pub itself is nice but staff were indifferent and sadly just not the standard we’re used to in the area.

I recently visited The Prince Bonaparte in Notting Hill, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish prepared to perfection. A special shoutout to the amazing manager, Jack, who made our visit truly memorable. His warm hospitality and attentiveness added a personal touch that made our time there even more enjoyable. Jack also poured the perfect pint of Guinness, which was the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. The vibes inside were perfect, extremely clean and well designed. It has been recently renovated, but still holds true to the charm of an upscale London pub. If you’re in London, The Prince Bonaparte is a must-visit for its delicious food and top-notch service. Highly recommended!

The Best Sunday Roast in London!!!! Have a miss menus to with huge portions. Thanks to chef Santos and the Manager Marco for amazing food and service. Even got my 12 year old into eating Kale. Also have fantastic deserts! Can’t stop coming back! 🍗🥬🥩🥕🥓😊❤️😎🙏🏾

Music was too loud but staff were very nice and turned it down. Food was just OK. Fish wasn't crunchy. The potatoes from the Seabass hadn't been cooked enough and the burger or the chicken were quite standard. The place is very nice and for those prices I would have expected better food.

Hace poco celebré mi cumpleaños en este restaurante, y fue realmente excepcional de principio a fin. El proceso de reserva fue fluido, y el servicio fue excepcional. La comida superó todas las expectativas – mis amigos se sorprendieron gratamente por la deliciosa bocina de hongos y el salmón perfectamente preparado. Spain won and I didn't feel supported. I was surrounded by Anglo-Saxons...but I was sad for the disappointment of suspending the winery setenil trail...at least Spain won and we got revenge on the Anglo-Saxons...They would have suspended us for just four drops...long live Spain! !

Super local pub with very friendly staff! Although it is a little bit crowded sometimes, it is fine as it has a cool atmosphere. I feel very relaxed and energetic at the same time when I am in this pub with my various drinks.

Multiple tables had dogs on the booths and reaching to the tables [none said anything to the dogs owners]. No cleaning of tables and booths/chairs in between customers, so you will sit and eat where a dog has previously stayed. Pub manager also pet dogs and then served the food with no hand washing. Appalling

The service was poor! I had to chase up the waiter twice to ask where my food was, despite my friend’s order having arrived 45 mins earlier. In the end, I had to leave as it was pointless waiting any longer!

The dining room and the pub are hardly separate at all. So, lager louts are yelling or laughing maniacally in the face of the quiche eating crowd. The next day we went to the Pelican Pub and it felt like we left purgatory and went to heaven. Everything at the Bonaparte is a good three levels below the Pelican. Down with the French !

Very good Sunday roast, we had a trio of pork, beef & chicken. Potato’s nice and crispy, delicious gravy. The atmosphere was amazing, very attentive staff, we felt very welcome. It was quite full at the time we visited, but the service was still good and fast! Will be coming back in next few weeks

The place was vibrant and full of people but it was loud - if you’re looking for a plce to have a quiet dinner or conversation it’s not going to be easy there. The food was good with enough variety. It’s location is great and the ambiance great for get togethers.

Poor guys! We arrived to a packed house and looking forward to a great brunch, only to be told by a slightly frazzled waiter that the chef had burnt himself, badly enough to be taken to hospital and that they were waiting for a replacement chef. This meant only a very limited menu. There was no way that we, on a Sunday, would find somewhere similar to eat, so we stayed. The food was very tasty and the long wait understandable, so no reason to complain. More reason to sample excellent beer and cider!

Unfortunately the burger wasn’t great. Well overdone. I told the staff and they were pleasant about it. 20 pounds for a sub par burger is a little annoying, I should have held back the service charge.

I'm really fussy about a Sunday roast at a pub. But the Bonaparte is one or my all time favourite Sundays! SO GOOD 😊 I think it must be all cooked from fresh. The Prince Bonaparte, a super pub sitting on the corner of Talbot and Chepstow roads in north Notting Hill. Lovely people, great service and a strident atmosphere. A good selection of keg beers and ciders along with a special cask ale for Le Petit General. Unfortunately, lost a star as although 4 pumps on the bar only one active and Timmy Taylor's had run out before a 6N rugby weekend, most unfortunate. Still, a great place to visit and enjoy. Also a good looking place to eat. No mention here as I did not participate. All good.

This is my local pub, and I love how inclusive their theme nights are as well as the overall day to day environment. American night was on point between the food menu and music. And the staff is so lovely and fun!

A really uncomfortable and disappointing experience considering how many positive reviews this place has. They sat our party of 3 at a table that was essentially blocking the disabled toilet that's also used as a baby changing facility. The table was also extremely close to the table behind it which was for a large group. When I explained the issue and asked for a different table they said they had nothing available but would move us as soon as they could which turned out to be as soon as our food came out. We ended up choosing to stay put because we didn't want our food to get cold as we would have ended up needing to move to the other side of the pub. We were disturbed multiple times by people needing to change their babies meaning we needed to get up and move the chair so they could get in and out. Putting a table blocking a facility for families when you're advertising as a family friendly place is just ridiculous, blocking a disabled access toilet is discriminatory and just plain greedy. The roast beef came out pink-grey and had a lot of sinew so we ended up exchanging it for the roast pork which was more fat than meat. The burger was also underwhelming for the money. Ultimately, they took our main meals off the bill but frankly, I have no intention of going back - the attitude and atmosphere of the business needs to change.

Having not been to the Prince Bonaparte for many years, it was lovely to discover that it’s still as great as it always was. On the day we went, there was quite a few families with small children and tables with dogs, but the vibe was so relaxed, chilled and friendly, that you hardly noticed. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable - truly first class! I wouldn’t hesitate to go again and highly recommend a visit.

The food is really good as good as if you go to a fancy restaurant and the service is impeccable But the atmosphere wasn’t really connected to the pubs name there is nothing connected to a prince or a Bonaparte.

Went there for St Valentines day celebration and had Italian Charcuterie as a starter and Rack of lamb, roasted parsnip, charred pumpkin puree, quinoa and mint as main. Food was exquisite. The best lamb I have ever had in a restaurant. Strongly recommend. Cheers to the chef!

Every time I come to London to visit my daughter, it’s a pleasure every time to go for lunch or dinner in this pub that I particularly like. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. A little extra for Marcio whose smile and hospitality are always in order. We will come back with pleasure!
