Wild Fig in Scarborough

Three times we were brought the wrong drinks, the food was very poor. At the end of the meal we felt pressured to leave as the staff starting laying the table for the next day. Would not recommend the Wild Fig and certainly would not go there again.

We have been regular customers of the wild fig and traveled from Fremantle to celebrate my partners birthday on Friday night. Our experience was dreadful and very disspointing to say the least. We ordered our wine which was plonked by the waiter on the table unopened and he left. I have never been to a cafe to not have our wine opened and served. It is basic customer service to open and serve wine. Then came our order of fish cakes which were very chewy and tasted like they had been frozen. I had the Japanese chicken skewers with rice and there was only 3 smallpieces of chicken on each and the rest was green capsicum which totally over powered the dish. The rice had no flavour and needed to have a high amount of salt and pepper to make it edible. There was no sign at all this was Japanese inspired dish. My partner ordered the linguine and it was so watery and seafood sparse and also chewy. My partner refused to consider dessert given it was highly likely we would be disappointed. The cafe that evening was not busy and we also noted a large table was cleared but not wiped clean at the time and a new group of customers were seated at this dirty table. This is not customer service. We raised our dissatisfaction with the waitress and whilst she was apologetic cited this was how ra dishes should taste. I believe we could have made theses dishes at home with more taste and flavour, and it was so disspointing to travel via taxi for a night out to have such poor food and put a sour taste on my partners birthday. It is regrettable but we will not be returning again and it is no longer a venue we would recommend. Regards Trish and. Jc

This cafe just doesn't age. It's been there a few years and everyone that comes here regular, know what they're getting. I love the atmosphere in this corner cafe and its location is also an added bonus. We ordered the Granola and the Smashed Avocado. The Granola looked good but there wasn't much in the bowl so a little on the skinny side there. The smashed avocado was nicely balanced with the balsamic glaze and crumbled feta. They do have a good breakfast menu and price wise competitive with all other cafes.

Tuvimos una comida muy agradable, recomendado por nuestro anfitrión en Scarborough. El ambiente era acogedor y el personal atento. La comida estaba muy rica y el vino que nos recomendaron muy agradable. Volveré.
