Ako Kebab in Scarborough

The food price hike for this place is disgusting. £2.00 price hike since 2023 is just outrageous! Burger, chips and 2 pieces of fried chicken was £20! Compared 2023 menu items for 2024 £2.00 The last time we collected from this place the men in the shop were so happy and helpful this year,the service was miserable! Certainly won't be ordering from these again The food was cheap tasting burgers. Not on par with the massive price hike!! Could understand the price hike if the food quality was good,but it just was basic. I'd personally steer away from this burger place now.

Was looking at ordering for delivery, but found out it has a ONE STAR food hygiene rating. Considering how terrible the other reviews are, it's not worth the risk. Avoid.

The food was terrible. My son couldn’t even eat his burger because it wasn’t cooked properly. After spending £42.40, I was shocked to be charged extra for a small pot of sauce. Most places offer a free sauce or drink when you spend over £30. The staff were neither welcoming nor friendly, and the sauce was overloaded with garlic. I’ve never seen food like this before, especially at such an expensive price for such poor quality. I definitely do not recommend this place.

The entire chicken kebab was absolutely covered in garlic sauce to the point I couldn't even eat it. Sauce should always come in a pot on the side so the customer can decide how much to put on. Completely ruined my meal and I wont be using ako again.

ordered food at 12:30 at night, as i’m typing this it’s currently 2:34 am and still no sign of our food. for the past hour and a half it’s said to be ‘on its way’ but it’s only a 15 minute drive away so it’s just not plausible for it to be taking this long.

I was very scared after receiving the food, I found a millipede within the cheesy chips, not only this the cheese smelt like it had been around a knob for a lifetime, the man on the phone was very rude and said he will come find me after I told him the situation. Very shocked go at your own risk!! Should be shut down seriously!!!!

I went to the shop and the guy on the counter was dribbling down his shirt. The food we were served tasted like a baboons bumhole. Would definitely not recommend, food didn't even arrive until 2 and a half hours after we ordered and looked like a pole of sick. All staff were extremely unhelpful and all looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp.

Only ordered two pizzas, specifically asked for no peppers on pizza but put them on anyway. Even though we were not rushing them, a guy in there was giving us a hard time saying that we shouldn’t haven’t ordered a taxi prior to ordering pizza.. however we ordered them at the same time and had politely asked the taxi to wait and they were happy to.. I think their attitude alone really isn’t worth going in and I also think they purposely got our order wrong.. it’s also relevant to mention I’m allergic to peppers , thanks guys

That bad we couldn’t even eat it , the garlic mushrooms had been cooked for too long, soggy onion rings and even the chips and cheese wasn’t nice Over £20 for chips and cheese , soggy onion rings rock hard garlic mushrooms and 2 cans of pop

Took a gamble after seeing the low score on here, as we couldn't be arsd trying to find somewhere else. Ordered a 12inch pizza, half n half and asked Stacey (I heard the order taker shout her name), the cheffess to make my side extra spicy. She did just that, but both sides were super tasty! Thanks for the spice kick 🙏 and the tasty pizza 👍

nothing to criticise. always good and same standard for what you order and always on time if not early. considering how far they have to travel for my delivery, the most impressive takeaway of the lot for delivering food hot! their heat bags are far better than anywhere else!

DONT ORDER - IT WONT TURN UP We ordered on Friday night. Order placed. Order confirmed. Order apparently delivered … but it never arrived. We tried to contact the take away nine times in total but no one answered. AVOID

Went here on Saturday 15th July after Jess Glynne concert. Was pretty busy so we thought it was a good place to get 2 medium chicken Shish kebabs. How wrong we were. Chicken was cut into very small pieces with a very strange tast,and was in very small pitta bread that was in shreads. Salad was pathetic. Price charged was £9.60 each. Spending £19.20 to put it in the bin. Be warned I would rather starve than give them another penny.

Would not recommend, just purchased 2 burger meals and a portion of Donner meat, the chips are awful and have no taste, and the bread was stale, at first I thought it was just toasted but the under side was squidgy from the grease but the top was like cardboard and went in the bin. The Donner is nice but £8 for a small portion that's labelled as a large is ridiculous, wish I'd checked how many stars this place had before wasting our money.

Be careful of this takeway they charge xtra if they know u have had a drink . Came in after the club for a burger and chips cost £30 for three single burgers.. they rip you of if u have had a drink as they are situated near the pubs they know what there doing so beware expecially the boss man he isn't very kind either.

This kebab shop has been at Scarborough for a long time and is incredible. The manager is friendly and gives a classic kebab you can’t go wrong with. Majority of the negative reviews are people who are either lying or are competing with the shop. I will always come back to this kebab shop. Highly recommend to everyone!

Ordered a medium and a large kebab. The medium chicken kebab was reheated and burnt, the large kebab came in a larger box but was the same size is the medium kebab, paid £4 for a larger box. Food was disgusting

Ordered chicken parmo, onion rings n cheeseburger. Onion rings were soggy n full of fat, the parmo, I saved over ½ of for next day and it was off, stinking, had to throw it out. Called the restaurant and was told I'd get a call back......I'm still waiting. Absolute rubbish, will never buy from here again.

Great food and staff often go in here. I was bit upset as a woman on her own to have to cope with macho morons though, hitting some punch bag really hard. Maybe they think it stops these blokes hitting other people ? I felt uncomfortable and did express this at the time. Surely women should feel comfortable in this environment?

We bought a chicken kebab on Saturday night they over charged us vosvi guess theyknew we where out of towners we ordered the fresh chicken on the long skewers they wrapped it up when we got home it was just chicken scraps that stunk to high heaven completely inedible was really disappointed and tbh disgusting I wish I could add a photo because I took one it was so bad I'll never return and warn people we was charged nearly 13pounds for a9.50 kebab

Ordered 2 nights. Both times the order was over 45 minutes late and the person on the phone was one of the rudest people i’ve ever spoken too. swore to me and lied about where the order was. he also kept interrupting when i tried to speak and explain the situation. not what you expect when you spend £83 pound on an order . However the delivery driver was absolutely lovely and we felt terrible for him. The people in the shop really need to sort out their customer service

Vile. Avoid like the plague. Charged me £10 for a kebab that was simply not edible. Had one bite and ended up throwing it I the bin. The owner was very rude too. The kebab shop next door is far superior.

I ordered some food, and the order was accepted, they gave me a delivery time estimate, the delivery did not turn up and the takeaway was shut, so there was no answer when i called, and there was no reply when i selected the "my order is late" option and my order did not turn up

I rarely leave reviews but wow. Got kebab and chips. A hard, cold pitta bread covered with weird tasting meat, old salad and topped with the weirdest sauce I’ve ever had. It was neither garlic mayo nor yoghurt but almost sour cream like. The chips were abysmal. Cold, soggy and tasted like the oil wasn’t changed in 10 years. I will never order from here again.

Absolute Robbery - £15 for a 10" Margerita and a can of pop seemed expensive but they added £12 for delivery, so £27 for a tiny cheese n tomato pizza, do yourself a favour and read the T&Cs they are absolutely disgraceful

The kebab was big, but consisted of tiny pellets of overcooked mixed meats. 1.5L coca cola bottle had apparently been uncapped and refilled with a cheap watery brand. Could not eat this. Will not order again.

The delivery time was good! But the food was bad. Ordered a ham and pineapple pizza it tasted terrible and smelt pretty strange. Felt like we were unwanted. Cheese burgers were small and like rubber. My friend ordered a plain kebab with no sauce, just salad. When we got home and opened it, there was sauce all over it, so that had to be binned. So, in short. Food was naff, and the order was wrong. Recommendations - eat somewhere else.
