Wow fish and chips too die for. Just fantastic

Lovely little fish n chips shop. Highly Recommend. -Food is really nice, NOT greasy and hot. -Service was quick and very friendly -Price is reasonable. -Dog friendly as well (Need a sign outside) -very welcoming atmosphere, warming colours and compliments the sea side town.

The food tastes OK nothing special it's Outrageous that ketchup costs 80p and a tub of mayonnaise costs £1.25 that's just highway robbery! I wouldn't be coming again I can imagine there's lots of other people feeling the same way about paying these ridiculous prices for something that is most in other places it's free!!!

Chips nice,fish small but too much batter made it loo big,do not have the coffee,as i dont think they put any in it,the best thing was you spend nearly £40 and they charge you £1.25 for a dap of tartar sauce,if id known that i would of gladly cancelled my order,as for the robots,sry staff not 1 of them cracked a smile so we will definitely be walking that place nxt time, £1.25 should be ashamed of themselves

Angel Fisheries is Hotel. I wish to go back and have some meals. Well trained staffs , handling clients with dignity. Management should think of expansion, some clients are lacking seats inside, hence tend to hang outside, waiting for space. Dangerous enough big white birds roam ready to take meals from clients hands.

Wetherspoons next door was rammed so I nipped next door to their fish n chip shop. Got served straightaway and got a seat. Small fish n chips £8.95 which was plenty for me. Not the best but great 👍 value. Had a bit of banter with all the other customers so that was nice. Thank you 😊.

Great food, more of a local chippy rather than over priced and smaller portions for the tourists. Loved the home made tartar sauce.

With provenance like this I had to give them a try. I had haddock and chips with tartare sauce and a cup og Yorkshire tea. Excellent. The table was a bit messy, but I could overlook that because the food was delicious. Crisp batter over tasty fish and thick chips.

Food was as expected, didn't blow us away but wasn't, staff were abrupt, rude and unfriendly

The consummately professional, attentive, personable and kind staff cater for your every need in exquisite fashion. The food is perfectly cooked every time and presented in a timely fashion. The layout is unique, creates a sociable and cosy environment and gives the opportunity to converse with the wonderful townsfolk and visitors to Whitby whilst eating. The price is competitive and exceptional value. I try to visit whenever I emerge from my crypt beneath the Abbey and descend the 199 steps, and I of course provide my protection to all whilst sampling the culinary delights. We came here for fish and chips last night. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it. The young guy who works there was the most unwelcoming person, the you g girl was nice. The guy looked moody, never smiled, and gave blunt answers. He made me feel awkward. The food wasn't great, the fish was nice but not much of it, lots of batter. The chips weren't nice, in my opinion. Some had a nasty taste to them, and they just weren't great. So all in all, I wouldn't go back.

Just off main front..clean enjoyed fish n chips .staff pleasant and efficient...away from the seagulls.

Come here purely on reviews, having tried one other fish and chips in Whitby which was just ok, disappointed with the food I got yesterday, there was a pool of grease in the corner of the Box and the chips were greasy and not crispy, the fish was OK though, mushy peas had no taste to them,

We sat in as a family of 5 for fish, chips and curry sauce. The food was delicious (best chip-shop we had all week).

Lovely little place, in the seaside town of Whitby a proper freshly cooked fish and chips . Choice of smaller or large portions . Very reasonable price too ,very good size of fish if you love it you won't be disappointed as it's so nice with a lovely fresh batter . Friendly service from owner . Tables to eat in or takeaway if you prefer,will definitely return 👍🏻💯 my daughter is vegetarian and we always struggle to find something suitable for her but they do halloumi and she said it was the best halloumi she's ever had and she eats it regularly .

me and my husband went to whitby for the day on 6th July we found angel fisheries and we ordered 2 large fish and chips we were served by 2 young men who were so polite and served us so well as the shop was so busy. The fish and chips were out of this world. the fish was a good size and was so tasty the chips were amazing too not greasy just fantastic. we sat inside the chip shop but you can sit outside if you want. I would recommend a visit if you are going to whitby.

Don't think I've ever had better fish and chips. Maybe equal, but not better. A touch on the pricey side but no more than all the other competitors in Whitby. There are two locations and we went harbourside. Would definitely recommend. Staff worked really hard.

Regular fish and chips :) hardly found fish :) what I found was dry and looked old. Must have been ages in oil. Chips was OK 1 ekstra star for toilets :) I could be unlucky but wil not go there again. My kids small fish was looking much better.

We stopped by on a whim, wanting fish & chips after not visiting Whitby for some time. Greeted warmly & kind responses when I checked for milk products in the batter ingredients. We ordered one small cod & chips and one large cod & chips, two teas and a can of pop. The fish was beautiful, flaked perfectly when sliced into. Tasty & perfectly fried with no lake of oil when eating. Chips were proper chippy chips, if you know what I mean! Cosy atmosphere, and nicely decorated nautical themed walls with fun pictures. We will be back whenever we go to whitby, loved it here!!!

Probably the worst fish and chips I have ever had no taste very small portions and expensive

Having seen the queue at the most popular establishment in Whitby and discovering that dogs weren’t welcome we decided to try Angel fisheries. We were not disappointed. There was a very friendly welcome and we were served delicious freshly cooked fish in chips for 5 in less than 10 minutes. Beautiful fresh fish which we were told had been caught by the owners own boat. Definitely worth a visit.

I’m almost reluctant to write this review, because I’ll be giving away what I feel is a well kept secret- that Angel fisheries is the best fish and chips in Whitby! It’s delicious, crispy, made to order. I highly recommend the tartar sauce too! The source of the fish and potatoes are written on the chalkboard in the restaurant, so it’s all very traceable. It’s a lovely place to sit in if the weather isn’t great, and only a short walk from the seafront if you fancy chips on the beach!

Lovely fresh cooked food, eat in available on a self service. Lots of choice and hot drinks available. Very popular plaice.

Went in for food and was given a small machine and told to go to table and wait. While we waited, watched all other people who were taking away served before us. Shambles.

Chippy in Whitby. Small seating area, which was dog friendly. Nicely cooked fish with great crispy batter. Only negative 80p for a small pot of decanted ketchup.

Went to whitby for a day out in all they was 6 off us couldn't believe the price of fish and chips in whitby over £20 which didn't include bread or a drink so for 6 of us it would have been about £150 with drinks found Angel fisheries was a lot cheaper and was lovely [locally caught fish]

Now then, we arrived from Edmonton Canada 🇨🇦 to Whitby and on the recommendation of many, decided to tuck into the most incredible fish and chips on this Earth. The piccys speak for themselves and we sure loved the whiter than white fish and the chips were divine. My friend had his with curry sauce and has decided that it's the best he has had in the UK. Sat with a lovely couple from Milton Keynes and we have all agreed 10 out of 10 for the food. Forget anywhere else and go here. Must say that we enjoyed our Haddock and Chips to share between us. We are small eaters and love Haddock. With the Mushy Peas and Curry Sauce and Scraps and Bread Bun 😋😋😋. Very delicious 😋😋😋 indeed....

Takeaway or eat in . We ate in on one of the tables straight out of the box ! Toilets on the premises. Nice change and lot cheaper than some of its famous neighbours.

Angel Fisheries was one of the few fish & chip shops open during our recent trip out to Whitby so we stopped by for something to eat together. I had a chip butty with a small sausage and my partner had the same. Service was attentive & the food was fresh & hot. I didn't find the food particularly tasty, as the batter seemed somewhat plain, but I had the usual condiments & tartare sauce (a tad overpriced at £1.10 per flat tub) which helped the flavour. Good value for money and sit in price was the same as take out. No real complaints here.

On a chilly Monday lunchtime in January, this was one of the only places open to eat in Whitby, so we stopped by for a quick bite. The lovely lady behind the counter was friendly and served us immediately. We sat in and were charged no different if we had taken the food out,which was very reasonable. I had a chip butty,small battered sausage and scraps,which cost less than £5 so great value. The batter was tasteless and needed salt and vinegar, but the chips were nice, and the sausage was OK.

It was ok but not too good. Small cod and chips was very small by the price of £7.95 as per today's date 22/01/24. Chips was not good. If you are hungry and no options then you can try it otherwise I won't. Service was good but food wise not much.

A great chippy, decent prices, and the fish was excellent. Cooked perfectly, crispy batter but moist soft fish. Good portion size. Curry sauce was lovely. No queuing either!

Locally sourced Fish, locally sourced potatoes and very well cooked. Extremely tasty fish and food was presentable in general I paid just over £20 for two cod and chips along with a carton of peas and thought in the current climate, it seemed good enough. The cod was extremely tasty and you could really taste the cod compared to others, it was very fresh and very tasty.

Fish didn’t seem cooked enough, a bit mushy and soft. Loud music. Flies all over the salt and vinegar. Wouldn’t be back

We were visiting Whitby on a day visit. Wandering around the harbour front, we smelt the wonderful aroma of vinegar on chips, this prompted us to find something to eat. We then were about to walk past, Angel Fisheries, when a family came out they were talking about the fact they'd just had some of the best Fish'n'Chips in ages. The young boys said they were "Very Yummy" ,so overhearing that we decided to give it a go. Now you have to understand EVERY fish and Chip shop in Whitby has at some point been the "Best" in Whitby/Yorkshire/England/UK etc, but it's all great, where ever you decide to eat. So what did we think? We both had Cod'n'Chips, with a coffee and a Tea, the bill £24.50. So overall not a bad price. I would have given it an Excellent rating but the Toilet was out of action. Great to read that the fish was caught by their own trawlers and the Spuds were very local. Would we go back, very possibly, but with so many great "Award winning" Fish'n'Chip shops, you have to give more than one a go.

Miserable, unfriendly staff! Worst fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. 2” thick, hard batter with barely any fish inside. Cheap tiny plastic forks, not even a plastic knife. Charged even for tiny pot of cheap tomato sauce! Expensive, tasteless meal! absolute rubbish!

We had fish and chips here on 15.9.23. They weren't greasy at all, the fish was white and juicy, chips were delicious. Really would recommend the Angel Fisheries.

Visited the place today. Got portion chips, fish bites and curry sauce. Came to just less then £10. Chips were ok, as was the curry sauce. The fish bites were probably the worst ive had. Hard, not even fish in them apart from very hard fish tail and skin. I left them but gave the dog a few and even the dog struggled. I should have returned them but seen there was a big queue. For that price it should be half decent. This review is only based on my experience.

We visited as a couple on a wet Monday in August 2023. This is a no frills place, order at the counter, take a seat, collect and eat when it's ready. Absolutely delicious fish and chips. Fresh, cooked to order, fast and generous helpings.

Chip butties ordered. But you only get the bottom half of the breadcake so expensive for half a breadcake.

Stopped at the first fish and chip shop we found and wish we’d carried on looking. Oily batter on the sausage and the chips were hard and had the same texture as frozen chips. Very disappointing.

I ordered fish and chips, it came in a cardboard tray with the fish on top of the chips, the fish wasn't drained before serving so the chips were in a pool of grease, I'll eat anything and even I had to leave them, I did help the kids with theirs and those chips were ok. My wife had scampi and chips and enjoyed it. Kids had sausage and chips each and enjoyed them. Sides/sauces are way over priced, a pot of cheap catering standard ketchup is 80p.... Ok food but not worth the £43 it cost unfortunately, my local chippy is about £25 for similar. I expect to pay a premium for Whitby harbour fish and chips but this was to much for what we got.

Found this little gem walking along the front , went inside as dogs are allowed on bottom Tier of the restaurant, had fish and chips …. Definitely recommend so tasty , fresh and good portion sizes too ! The restaurant was spotless , toilets spotless...

Excellent chips and curry, down a side street well worth looking for.

Had loads of chippies in Whitby earmarked as good but we chose this because it looked and felt right and we saw the quality of the food from people eating outside. Whispy and crunchy batter, thick juicy haddock, super chips and great service... spot on!

Just a tad disappointing overall. A lot of effort is spent in the decor of the place, which feels quite cold and aseptic. The food was good but nothing amazing.

AMAZING fish and chips (and scraps) and we had lunch here the cod and chips were proper! ABSOLUTELY delicious. We will def go back here b4 we go home to Canada! Absolutely delicious and so fresh!
